This has been our go to Chinese restaurant for many years. The other night they messed up an order of cashew nut chicken. I called them once we got home, and they were very polite and offered to remake it. My husband rushed over to the restaurant and the lady at the counter literally throws him a bag of cashews. Not what we had in mind when we thought they were remaking the cashew chicken. Very rude when asked about it. We will sadly not be back for a long while read more

I signed up for yelp just to warn people about this place. When trying a new chinese food place I usually start with broccoli beef. The rice and broccoli were fine, but the beef was very low quality. It was very tough and stringy, like bargain meat at the store. I ended up leaving half the meal. Even though I ordered to stay, it was in a to go container, so I don't know why they asked. $10 minimum for credit cards. Most people picking up orders didn't know this, and ended up adding egg rolls or other sides to get to the minimum. Eat here at your own risk read more

Food tastes good. The lady up front had an attitude and I couldn't understand any of what she was trying to tell me about the lunch specials. They have pictures of the food and no prices anywhere that I saw. Extremely frustrating and I will not come again. This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. They make fast and delicious meals at a good price. You get a ton of food in each order and the lunch specials are a spectacular deal! 5.99 for a main dish, egg roll, and fried rice? Yes, please! Wednesdays the have buy in get one 1/2 off from 5-7pm which is also a great deal! I personally love their pan fried dumplings, crab Rangoon (so gooood), and their chicken lo mein. Got orange chicken, service was slow but it was well worth the wait. Every single bite of chicken was very hot temperature wise all the way to the last bite. Pros 1) Great tasting food, the Orange chicken had orange zest on it. I've never had that done at a Chinese food restaurant before. 2) Huge proportions, you certainly get your fair share of food for the money. Lunch deals are an even better value. 3) Hot food, I'm talking about temperature not how spicy it is. From the first bite to the last bite all the chicken was nice and hot. Cons 1) They don't take Amex and the minimum purchase on a Visa or MasterCard is $10.00. 2) Slow, took them like 15 minutes to make the food and there was no one there. Hate to see what it's like when it's busy 3) Plastic forks, this is just a con because it limits me from eating as fast as I can. Was disappointed by Highlands Great Wall today. I have eaten there before and the food was decent, just not large portions. Today I went there w a friend from work, over lunch. I ordered my lunch off of the lunch menu- $5.99 meals. I was then informed that I would have to buy crab Rangoon or eggrolls or something else, because there is a $10 minimum for using a card. $10 minimum is ridiculous. I promptly walked out and went to the adjacent Amigos and didn't have to spend more than I wanted. I won't be going back to Highlands Great Wall again, out of principle. read more

Lunch portion size is large and taste is good, however they can't ever seem to get my order right no matter how many times I ask for steamed rice instead of fried rice. Their $10 minimum (used to be $5) to use a credit/debit card is ridiculous and against banking regulations for a merchant who accepts them as payment, which is why it is not posted in their restaurant. I have been a big fan and loyal customer for years but in the last year tge quality and custom service has hit an all time low. I ordered tonight for a pickup waited 15 minutes to show up my order. They were not busy when i paid. After paying i waited another 20 minutes without getting my order. When i questioned how long it was taken the counter girl looked for my order fining it waiting on the back counter where it had been tge whole time. She offered me no compensation when I told her it was cold now acting like it was my fault. Worse experience I ever had at the restaurant and will mot return tell things are fixed. read more

This place is slimy and currently is bribing customers for a yelp review (show us your yelp review, get a free order of crab Rangoons). On Husker game days, they park their truck on the corner of Highway 34-nowhere near their property-just to get free advertising. So seriously unethical. And not very customer-oriented either. NO FREE FORTUNE COOKIES!! One time, I went there for a promo that starts at 5 p.m. It was 4:55 and they wouldn't give me it (at least, until I started to leave, but by that time it was too late). You can't substitute steamed rice for fried rice on their lunch deals. That said, they don't have horrible food. Sure, their crab rangoons have basically no crab in them and are pretty much fried cream cheese, and more than once I've been disappointed by the chewiness from overcooked general's tso's chicken. But for $6 for their lunch deals, you could do worse. If you can overlook sometimes bad customer service and slimy business practices. read more

I like the Great Wall, however, I only get one thing. I have been here several times and always get the sesame chicken. I think it is really good, and you get a huge portion. I can usually get 2 if not three meals out of it, depending on how hungry I am. ;) My husband usually gets different things every time and he isn't a huge fan. He said everything is very average, but he will still keep coming back and eat it. You do get a good sized portion, and you don't go hungry. I do believe that the prices have gone up, but the portion sizes are still large. They do have good crab Rangoon and it comes with 8 of them. They do have a large menu, and you can eat there or take it to go. We usually take it to go, but they have a decent sized area. I would recommend it, but don't expect top notch Chinese food. A side note, they do have weird yellow/orange colored rice. It tastes just fine though! read more

Twice I called in an order for pick up and am quoted a time when it will be ready. Both times I still had to wait considerably longer until my order was ready. Last time I was told 25 minutes. I got there 30 minutes after my food was said to be ready. I then had to wait almost 30 more minutes. They need to be more accurate. The food is good, but not that good. read more

This is my go-to Chinese take-out place. I can't speak for all of their dishes but they are usually very good and tasty. I enjoy general's chicken the most. My least favorite is the cashew chicken. I find it's way too sweet and there is way too much celery. You will get a lot of food for a good price. I'm almost positive that you get more food if you dine in at the restaurant. Enough leftovers for 2 more meals. The restaurant itself is small. Most people get carry out. Be prepared for a little wait. They get very busy on the weekends. Expensive somehow in a cheap dirty establishment. The only pro I can say is their lunch combo is only $5.99 for half order of a entree and plain fried rice, drink isnt included, and if u get a egg roll with it you have to pay for sweet and sour sauce.... none is given to you with the lunch special. Everything else costs more than other places. After you order, they will yell out what you ordered and you have to go pick it up yourself on cheap plastic dishes. Drinks are almost $2 each and its a small 12 ounce cup, all of which help you reach their "$10 minumum" if you want to use your card. You can go to Amigos next door for better food, better price, and friendly service. Especially when I asked why a lunch special and one regular order was $28.64, they went on and on about how the one main entree was $1 more than the price listed on the menu. It was only when I showed them on my calculator total with tax was $20, it was only then they changed the price. So double check your order dont let them scam you by trying explain different prices and false advertising. read more
