one of the first buffets i've seen that is back to self-serve since covid-19. they are doing a decent job at keeping things clean and masks must be worn at all times unless seated. they don't have as many options as some other chinese buffets i've tried but what they have is pretty solid. love their rice noodles!! also have a "build your own" stir fry section where they cook on a mongolian grill in front of you. i always appreciate when buffets have this! honestly just a very average meal. not amazing not terrible. still left stuffed :) read more

I ate here yesterday early afternoon with my dad and stepmother. I was really quite surprised!!! The greeting, seating, meal service, and food prep services were all good. The restaurant seemed very clean inside and outside. The buffet food had alot to offer. There was a lot of different chicken dishes and also fish. I liked their fried rice and noodles. The egg rolls were hot and yummy! I also enjoyed the Rangoons, with a great cream cheese filling and their dumplings also good. The beef and broccoli and the shrimp with broccoli were both tasty. The tomato bisque and veggie minestrone both were wonderful soups with beautiful texture. Since I ate more than usual, I just had water to wash it all down. To top off the afternoon, I had some soft serve chocolate vanilla swirl and a cream puff. What a great visit. So, we did the China Buffet part. Very large establishment, plenty of parking, carpets are dirty and stained, the food is below average in my opinion, not very fresh but do have a very large selection, I refuse to try and seafood here, but there are many seafood options. Not a fan of this place, probably won't be back. read more

If you read my previous review, these can't be any further apart for the same place. Let me start by saying I LOVE this place. Never had a bad meal, till today. If I could give it zero stars I would. Grill: Nothing was mixed as it was cooked. I watched. Result, burnt food/sauce in one glob. A glob of egg. Glob of noodles. Most of the food had zero sauce or seasoning on it resulting in zero taste, hard and dry. Not just mine. My 5 top table and every plate I saw go out from the grill and the tables around me. This was on Mother's Day! We went out to celebrate. Disappointed to say the least to try to celebrate with my kids and all leave hungry and disappointed. So bad. The chicken from the Sesame Chicken was SO dry. I spit it out to see if there were feathers or what was so dry and poking me. The sauce was good but meat itself SO dry. The egg drop soup is always a favorite here. Still good today but not very warm. Waitress: brought our drinks, said I'd you need something let me know and never saw her again. Our table was covered in plates (of food we didn't eat because of the above mentioned.) I had to flag her down for more drinks. They were out of plates when I went back to the Buffett. No surprises if they were all on everyone's tables as well. We usually pay at the table. We found our waitress leaning against the desk up front. We are usually very good tippers. Not today. Service is good, it's a nice overall place, very clean and well kept. However the food is most certainly a 1/10. My fiancé, sister in law, me and my 2 kids all went here to eat on Tuesday this week (the 5th). The food tasted good but a lot of it was cold such as the wings, sweet & sour chicken, noodles, rice, etc. immediately after we were all extremely nauseous and I've had severe food poisoning since. We were also charged 2 times which we're trying to get resolved but we have yet to get refunded. Mind you the amount was $50.50, so charged twice puts us out $101 instead of the only $50 it should've been. All I've gotta say is, do better. I went to this restaurant last night and the staff were incredible. The food there was cooked all the way and well done. It was my boyfriends birthday and they sang happy birthday to him and provided an amazing dessert for him. I will definitely be coming back again. There food hasn't been the same. It's being left out longer and it's rushed and dry nowadays. Also, with COVID, they are not being safe at all. Many of them wear their masks with half their face hanging. They stuff the restaurant packed. They move tables around so more people can fit, so I end up sitting nearly shoulder to shoulder with people next to me. There was easily 50+ people crammed in their small space and easily another two dozen crammed in the waiting room. They barely clean up after guests leave so it's not a very pleasant experience. If I was rating on any of the other half dozen times I have been there it would be a 5, our favorite Chinese buffet in town. But the last experience was Terrible and left us not feeling well later that night. We came at 5pm which I think made the difference, we usually come around 6 or 7. The issue with coming at 5 is the food tasted as if it was left overs from lunch or the afternoon and hadn't been switched out for dinner yet. Everything was just off and not what we are used to getting. The hot and sour soup tasted bitter and the egg drop soup had no salt which is weird for a Chinese buffet where I am pretty sure salt is the main ingredient. Nothing was fresh or as appetizing as it usually is. The insides of the crab Rangoon had darkened to an unappetizing dark dry consistency. Lincoln used to be awash with Chinese buffets. Now there are only three of them and this one is the best. The prices are pretty reasonable but a little higher for the dinner buffet and on the weekend because they serve crab legs (I like them but usually don't go for them). When the servers put crab legs on the serving table they're gone in seconds...some very greedy people eat here. All of the entrees are outstanding and they have the best crab rangoon in town. The Mongolian grill is quite good but it's not HuHot or Ginger, both of which are better. Some of their newer buffet items are really good, such as the Mongolian Mix, Pineapple Chicken, and Seafood Combo. If you're a Chinese food snob this restaurant might not be your cup of tea but it's the most popular Chinese buffets in town and with good reason-the food is better than their competition. read more

Been here too many times to count. This is one of my favorite restaurants to come to. The service is always fast and the waitresses/waiters are always on top of drinks. They aren't around so much that it makes you think they are watching you eat. That's a pet peeve of mine. Food has always been fresh. If you want something cold head on over to the frozen section, pick out your favorite pasta, veggie, sauce and throw it all together. I am not a 'Buffet' person and have never found a decent one here in Nebraska but my opinion changed once I visited this restaurant. The place is packed on the weekends but manages to seat you within 10 minutes at most. The Mongolian grill is the reason I go, the vegetables and meats are always fresh and plentiful. I would never risk seafood at a Midwest buffet but the shrimp are always on ice without a 'fishy' smell. They entire grill has never let me down. Amazingly the appetizers are also top notch. I enjoy the succulent hot wings and the Hot and Sour soup is always pleasing. The Crab Rangoon's are hand made without a lot of crab but huge and tasty regardless. The desserts are poor so I just have a bit of watery ice cream to clear the palate and leave the place virtually wobbling with satisfaction. I don't eat there too often as it's too good and I don't wanna get fat. When I look around at the clientele I realize I don't want to be a 'buffet person', but on the occasion I indulge. I headed in looking forward to some good Mongolian Grill, and this one is okay. The selection for their mongolian grill wasn't that great. I would have liked to see more veggies and more different sauces. The Chinese buffet portion was also pretty small and the food seemed like it had been sitting around in a vat for a while, even though it was lunchtime. There were a lot of people there who all seemed happy with it, but it was just mediocre to me. There also wasn't much of a dessert selection. Remembering a similar china buffet from my home town in Texas I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised. The delicious scents wafting from the Mongolian grill had our mouths watering prior to being seated. The food was delicious, our waitress was a doll and not too pushy on the checking up on us. The workers are caring people that want your experience to be a great one. I eat at the Mongolian Grill often! Robert and Moises are the Grill masters and will make your dish as you want. Always with a smile and a little conversation. The owner is always open to new ideas from customers. He owns 3 in Omaha and they have made the Best Of Omaha in the past! The bathrooms: new, so i will check back in later to see how they look when the shiny new bathroom smell wears off. The food: high points: crab rangoon like NO OTHER! and as much of it as you can eat, your choice of traditional Americanized Chinese dishes and a "salad bar selection" of choices for the grill including at least ten different sauces. My significant other went mad over this! He's an expirimenter of food so his creative "abilities" or lack there of when it comes to food were whetted here instead of on my dinner plate. low points: there wasn't as much buffet style Chinese food as I thought there should have been and no sushi??? I am writing this post in response to a rating that was written about a restaurant that really was never visited by the person who was so very upset with it. China Buffet has never contacted any person at any time under any circumstance to say we were unhappy with a patron or customer who has come in to dine or take carry out. I can tell you though exactly what took place and why they might have been upset...There are free apps that you can load on your phone (which are supposed to be funny and a big joke).. Where an Asian person speaking broken English tries to cuss out the customer for eating too much... This is not the first time that someone has confused our restaurant because they call it the Chinese Buffet... We are China Buffet Mongolian Grill... I can promise you that no employee from here would ever treat a customer in that fashion.. Especially if you have never eaten here before , we could not and would not have your phone number or credit card info... It's sad though because when someone is just playing a joke or being silly it can cause some hardships for others not even involved... We just love having new customers and want to keep our continuing customers satisfied and happy with our food and environment. Please don't believe everything and if a business called me with some Nonsense's like that... I think I would use the caller ID number and try to figure out what was going on, because a buffet that would complain about someone eating too much ,would never stay in business for long !! read more
