She took such good care of him (I'd be by his hospital bed when she rounded) that when I kept getting sick weekly as a young 20 year old nurse...I decided to go see her. She diagnosed me with lupus right off the bat (unlike the rest). She managed my pretty severe flares over the years, referred me to other great doctors, and over all enhanced my quality of life. As a travel nurse...For the past 15 years I've had the pleasure of working with hundreds if not thousands of doctors...and Dr. Hewitt is one of the best. Her ability to diagnosis..and her real straight approach--combined with her true passion for making a human better is why I love her. She keeps everyone in my family in good health and I love her office staff. Ivy (her nurse practitioner) is smart, warm, and extremely knowledgeable while being warm and easy to talk to. People ask me how did you know you had lupus?? Dr. Hewitt that's how. The other doctors told my mom (my lupus symptoms started at age five) that I just had a different type of skin as a child...that my joint pain was growing pains...then in my teens and early adulthood I was told I was depressed (and I said I'm not sad at all I don't feel good)--the doctor prescribed antidepressants--Labeled as a hypochondriac...Unlike the four doctors in adolescence and childhood Dr. Hewitt told me "You can't fake strep, the flu, and a kidney infection"....and told me this is auto immune...tests came back all confirming she was way right...she has literally saved my life...So having the right primary care doctor is as important as picking out a spouse...for 16 years years I've been seeing Dr. Hewitt along with every person I care about...

I have been looking for a family doctor since I moved to Texas. I wanted my doctor to be close to…read morehome so I began my search online. Every fantastically rated Dr. is located in Houston which would mean I would have to drive over 35 min and even close to an hour to get to my appointment so that didn't work. Finally I started calling Drs in my area. I got so much run around. One Dr. required you to be a part of a membership and you had to pay 1500 a year to be their patient. About 2 others that were recommended by friends and neighbors were retired and others just didn't have the type of ratings I was looking for. So I found Dr. Hewitt's information. I called and made an appointment with Chris. She was so friendly and answered every question I asked. I am used to other offices sending email or phone reminders so when my appointment day came and I noticed I didn't get a reminder I decided to call the office. Chris let me know that the Dr. was out sick and my appointment would need to be rescheduled. this bothered me a bit because if I didn't call I would have left work and gotten there only to be rescheduled. Fortunately I called ahead so that was avoided. I was able to reschedule for that same week which was very convenient. I got to my appointment 5 minutes early and signed in. At first glance the outside of the office is not very well kept. Its actually a home that was converted into an office. The waiting room is a bit small but it was not crowded. There was a bit of a wait because some patients walked in because it was the day before New Years and the office was going to be closed. I was one of the last patients to be seen. My wait time was not that long. I probably waited about 1/2 hour. I have waited much longer at other appointments. The nurse assistants were very apologetic about my wait and were all very sweet. This made my wait bearable. Once I got into the room Dr. Hewitt came right in and got down to business. We spent a good hour just discussing any issues I may have had, she was very thorough with her explanations and made me feel completely at ease. The office atmosphere is totally casual and she is too but the lady knows her stuff. I felt at home with Dr. Hewitt. She didn't miss a thing. I like that she sat down and listened to me and I never felt rushed. I have been to other Dr appointments where I felt like I was an inconvenience. I was even able to bring in lab results I had gotten a month before to her and she was happy to go over them with me and addressed all my concerns. Thank Goodness I have no major medical issues but if I did I would feel comfortable with Dr. Hewitt as my physician. I look forward to my follow up appointments and recommend Dr. Hewitt for sure.

This location is extremely unprofessional and have incompetent staff members administering test to…read morepatients in which they are not adequately trained to do so. On 3-21-22 I had a TB injection administered on the back of my arm to include the staff member placing a band aide over the injection site. Once I got home I found it quite odd for my injection site to have a bandage placed over it following injection but nevertheless I simply removed it and proceeded to take a shower. During my follow up visit on 3-23-22 the receptionist who handles paper work looks at the injection site and states yes your positive...i immediately laughed yeah umm don't think so. I get these administered all the time. Maybe we are looking at two different things here but clearly there is no redness or sign of a raised bump 10mm high smh nor was it red or swollen. The receptionist states it was FDA approved to place band aide over injection site I immediately said...really ohhhh ok just had one administered June 2021 but ok go off then. She then gets office manager and she reads the none visible bump yes you are positive. We can do an x ray...no I think your office location is just scamming for additional test. Please give me my paperwork which my employer gave me so I can go somewhere else. Manager states we aren't allowed to give your paperwork to you. I stated its mine I am the patient she stated she was going to call the cops I told her to proceed and do as you feel. They not only reported to my company I refused to conduct a TB reading following a false positive reading they lied about the procedures by stating FDA approved band aid coverings to be placed on TB injection sites to include injecting the fluid on the back of my arm opposed to the fore arm. This place is suspect and I will be seeking legal advice. Follow up 3-24-2022: As a result of the technician placing the TB injection fluid on the back of my arm and placing a band aide over it..i was given a false positive reading by the receptionist and office manager who indicated I was positive. I immediately had chest x rays performed the very next day 3-24-22 exactly 72 hours of the injection at another reputable clinic paying out of pocket for the test and was informed the staff member indeed placed the TB injection in the wrong place as well a bandaged should have not been placed. Prior to administering the x ray, the staff member reviewed my arm and said no this is definitely not an indication of a positive case. I have officially received my chest rays results and they have also come back negative for TB. I called to speak with the manager and was informed she wasn't there (laughs) yeah ok but I informed the receptionist this is definitely mal practice and it's obvious you all have un trained personnel working in this clinic. I need call back and an explanation. If not an apology period.

I travel out of my way to come here for my appointments because I know I can trust Dr. Tinker. I've never had an issue with a long wait for an appointment like I've experienced elsewhere. I'm also able to call and get in relatively quickly when I've needed a last minute appointment.
