I have been to his office twice in the last month and while he is never there since he's primarily at the hospital, his PA Joyce is very kind and she takes good care of their patients. When I was in the hospital, Dr. Haddad was very good about taking the time to explain things to me and when I had to go back to the hospital for an Endoscopy, Dr. Haddad took great care of me during my procedure. I mean, I was unconscious during all of it, but it seemed to go well. If you need to see a gastroenterologist, I would highly recommend Dr. Haddad's office.

He is unashamedly money hungry, wanting to do a colonoscopy every year. I mentioned that I was still taking indigo for my UC when we were already out in the hallway. He laughed at me and asked the doctor who was standing next to him if he ever heard about it. It's the best medication I've used so far and I don't even have to go through other people to get it. I had a great gastroenterologist not long before him, unfortunately for me he retired. After one of my colonoscopies, they sent a bill for $800 for labs for the polyps. After a million calls to them, one of the staff talked about it on the phone with me and said that next time, I need to tell them at the clinic to only use providers that are covered by my insurance. Be ready for 3 bills in addition to the $1000 that you have to pay upfront for each colonoscopy. I switched to a doctor who does their colonoscopies at Memorial Endoscopy Center. The total for everything ended up being like $1500 with them. With Khandawalla, I had to pay $2200. I did see Dr. Thompson first but only went to him once because he was rude and not at all delicate about my prognosis. That was hands down the worst bedside manner I've ever received. But Khandawalla was pretty rude and annoying too. The front desk staff care more about the socializing they are doing with each other than about talking to patients. They are stiff necked while interacting with patients.

My regular gastroenterologist referred me to Dr. Desai because I guess I have unusual anatomy. I went in for an ERCP but my regular gastroenterologist couldn't complete the surgery and called Dr. Desai to come in and he suggested he try and do the surgery again later that day. I loved that he sat and explained everything that happened and would happen to me and my husband and even allowed my husband back in the surgery room for a few minutes as he knew I was pretty nervous. My husband said while I was in recovery he came out and explained again what he did and actually gave him his direct number with any questions we might have later. Fast forward a couple weeks and I went back to see Dr. Desai as I still wasn't feeling well and he suggested another surgery but he explained everything and why I needed it and totally calmed my fears about everything. He has a wonderful bedside manner and really listens to you and answers your questions in a down to earth way. The office is convenient for me too, located on Blossom in the same building as my primary care doctor so that's awesome! I also adore his office staff! They are so friendly and they get stuff taken care of! I was going to a different gastroenterologist and I like him ok, but I'm not going back to see see anyone but Dr. Desai now!

I call every morning in addition to sending messages via the portal and text that gets ignored. When I call the lady that does it is in clinical and has to call me back and she never does. I talked to her today finally and she says cvs never sent prior authorization she said she was going to respond to them to decline alternative medication. Guess what she never responded to decline medication. So I called cvs they confirmed prior auth was sent I even uploaded proof. I call back she is in clinical can't talk but she found the prior authorization and is completing it still not done. This is extremely unethical I been sick and vomiting with severe stomach pain and heartburn and if my deductible wasn't high I would've went to the ER. I need my medication and I have done everything on my end. Please avoid this place by any means necessary you don't want to find yourself in my situation. I'm in the process of finding another Dr one who cares because this should be illegal. I'm actually going to file a complaint with the board for malpractice. The last time was the worst when they blew the vein in my hand and now two weeks late the back of my hand is sitll black and blue. Also, though I had receipts with proof that I had already fulfilled my deductible they made me pay it again anyway in order to proceed with the procedure. NOW they owe me a refund and I feel certain that will be a fiasco as well. I will NOT have another procedure at this facility.
