Should have hired a professional to lay the putting surface. A disaster for a serious putter.

Hill Top Miniature Golf is not the worst course I have ever played, that honor belongs to an abandoned mini golf course I broke in to play in the boardwalk in Asbury Park back when that was a bad area. However Hill Top is closer to that than any course should be. The problems in no particular order are as follows. The turf is in the worst shape I have ever seen. What makes it even worse is they just have patches of newer turf glued down on top on the old turf and this has happens multiple times so some holes have up to 4 different ages of turf. The course itself is also in bad shape. Things broken and not fixed. Water features not working. It's a personal pet peeve of mine when a course has the hole where your suppose to hit it down the river and the water is not working. The holes are also poorly designed, most of them are slightly up hill, so any mis hit results in the ball rolling back to the start, this is made harder by the poor conditions of the course. The corse is cash only, but there is no way to find that out beforehand because they don't have a website, and it's kind of expensive at $7 a person. The putters are some of the worst I have ever used. They only have 3 sizes, all too short for adults. The putters are also in roughly shape with chunks missing out of the rubber. The theming also looks like they bought what ever was on clearance at the miniature golf supply store. Nothing goes together. Overall a very subpar miniature golf course that only get 2 stars because it has golf balls, putters and 18 holes. Avoid this place if you can. read more

There were a handful of holes that were actually quite fun to play, although there were also quite a few where a small mistake would send your ball hurtling back to the start. That was less fun. The course is not in great shape. The price ($7 for both kids and adults) could be worse, but it's incredibly annoying that it's cash only (although there is an ATM in the laundromat next door). I was also disappointed that there was no cool "win a free game for a hole in one" on the last hole. Overall, this is a serviceable but subpar (haha) mini golf course. read more

Tried going Sunday morning at 11:30 after website said it was open, but it was closed.

This use to be a good fun time for mini golf. Now it's rundown with shabby chewed up holes and cash only business. Not worth the trip.

We've played the old course and the newer course a bunch of times. I've never had an issue with parking, but I've had some issues with large groups playing. It should just be common courtesy to have a group of six or more split into two groups. People can still talk and chat, but everyone get's done faster. Almost everytime we are here, this isn't enforced, but we just play around them. My biggest issue is brick walled courses. I don't really like these courses as the brick is too unpredictable. This course is challenging and incredibly unforgiving. One small mistake as you put up a hill brings your ball all the way to the start. They do the best they can with their course, but I think I do prefer their older course over the newer one. read more

Come on, people, get it together and invest some funds into course maintenance. The structure of a good course is here, however, there are multiple holes with shabby greens, one in particular in which the green actually lifts off and interferes with the ball in play. Many holes with patchwork greens that also look bad and play is awful. This place has so much potential but just seems forgotten. Do yourself a favor and trek to Putt Putt in Clifton Heights (Delco)...old school and immaculate mini-golf. read more

Decent mini golf course but needs a bit of TLC. Needs a new green golf carpet, some weed control, a few coats of paint. $7 for adults is reasonable. Park at the Chinese restaurant next-door (i think its owned by the same folks). Off a busy road but centrally located. A good time. read more

I was here a few weeks ago, and a lot has changed from what I've gathered since the previous reviews were left. Most if not all of the greens were refurbished and were not patchy or an assortment of different turf types. The course was well maintained, and the employees were maintaining the course as we golfed, which speaks to how much they care for their business. I only had two issues with this minigolf course, that being that a few of the holes were built onto the hill, which made it difficult to put straight or judge the power necessary for a shot. Secondly, towards the back left of the course, you can easily get lost and mistaken skip a few holes, as it's not easily directed to continue up the hill to follow the correct hole order. Overall, the place is a great spot to play minigolf at, especially with the lack of minigolf courses in the area, and I would recommend it. read more

Came to Hill Top for the first time this past weekend with my husband and two friends, despite living here for quite a while! I didn't know what to expect - I've heard that the place used to not be so great, so I definitely didn't have high expectations. I'm very happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The Good - The place is clean and set up well. It's definitely a small space, but they did a great job setting up the course to not make it seem so smushed together. - Staff was friendly. - Good hours - open until 11. Not much to do in this area at night, so this is a great option. - Good location, near fast food places if you're hungry (they don't sell snacks here, just some bottled drinks) - Actually a challenging course! Great for adults and kids who won't act crazy if they don't get a hole in one. - Not expensive, only 7$ per person for a game. Not bad at all. The Mediocre - Parking lot is tight. - No refreshments, but again, the fast food places nearby should eliminate that issue. We all had a really fun time and will definitely be back! read more

Found this place while looking at some potential houses with friends. Decided "hey let's get our put put on" fair price $7 per adult. Lots of putters, different colored balls so you know which is yours, even 2 shades of green balls!!! pretty challenging course honestly and you can tell they put some money into the statues they have throughout the holes. Mini statues of the Liberty Bell, the Sphinx and Mount Rushmore. Pretty cool place!! Standard 18 holes, it was a fun time. Id go back if I was ever in the area. read more

We came here on a sat night for some mini golf with a group of 5. For adults it was seven dollars per person for the 18 holes. They do take credit. I would say most of the holes were beginner basis. Three people in our group had two hole-in-one's. The equipment was fine. The maintenance of the course was OK. Overall we had a good time. Only knock is that it didn't have a driving range. This place blows. There is a river on the 16th hole that you have to hit your ball over a 3" ramp. If you miss said ramp, your ball goes into the river and subsequently into the swamp. And unless you brought your speedos, your game is over at the 16th hole. No 17. No 18. If you have a child, only bring them here if you want to make the cry. I'm almost 40...and I'm crying. Hill Top was a solid well-done mini golf course. It was packed into a tiny space no bigger than a parking lot, but didn't feel too short at all. Many of the holes involved putting uphill, which was a great challenge. Lots of historic monuments and sites make an appearance here including a Sphinx, The Great Wall of China, and Mount Rushmore. I just can't help loving a course that includes monuments. There were also water features. Looks like it was renovated in the past year or two. Gameplay went along just fine on a weekend in August. Creamwich (in the same plaza) was good for some post-game ice cream. read more

The parking lot for this miniature golf is shared by the golf course and the Chinese restaurant. I was confused at first, but it makes sense later. The guy behind the counter was nice, my friends and I were disappointed that we were not able to select what color ball we wanted, we were just given three different color balls to work with. As for the courses themselves, a lot of them are up hill (I guess hence the name "Hill Top"). This would be a rather rough course for kids who don't have enough strength to punt their ball hard to the hole. All three of us had our balls roll back down the hills and we had to restart. Also, my friend had to use the rest room, so they asked if they had one, and they said to go into the Chinese restaurant next door. I am under the impression that one person owns the mini golf, Chinese restaurant, and the laundromat. read more

Certainly the worst course I've ever played. It is completely unkempt and nearly unplayable. The greens are so bad that your ball just rolls back to the starting point. Absolutely useless to even attempt to aim. It's terrible. read more

Really fun mini golf. $7 first game and then $3 for second game. Some of the holes are pretty challenging which makes it more fun for adults. The course was in great condition when we played. They even have pins in the holes. There are only a couple bad things about this place. The first is that it is a little small and so the holes are crowded. The second is that it is right on the road and so that is loud and hot. They don't sell drinks or ice cream or any refreshments like some mini golf places. Proximity to Rita's and Dairy Queen right down the road make this a non issue. read more

Had a great time with my mom and brother. Where else can you have a nice time for only $7 per person (kids are $5)? The course is clean and well maintained. Its spaced out enough so that each group is not on top of one another. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and was busy but not crowded. We spent about 1.5 hrs playing. The course is fun and has its challenging parts too, which is just enough to do some smack talking with friends or in my case, family. There were of course, several couples and a group of kids. There was one guy working the register who was nice and one who walked around and cleaned up while we played, but he wasn't distracting. We had a great time! read more

Went on a Saturday evening in the spring. The adventure started off with an unfriendly staff member who notified us gruffly that they were cash only due to the credit card machine being broken. The course itself was poorly lit (to the point that we couldn't see our balls nor the course itself, contributing to a few stumbles and my mother actually falling) with many areas of ripped turf and disrepair. Mini golf here is much improved by the current owner. Thankfully, the plastic Hawaiian dancing girl is gone. Now the course is well maintained, and boasts the Great Wall of China as well as Mount Rushmore, two waterfalls, and a pond that has special nets you can use to fish your ball out. Sadly, discount price for kids is only for kids five and under. My party of 11 year olds had to pay seven dollars each. read more

Recently went here as it's close to home instead of making the drive to Freddy hill. It was not worth the $7.00 they charge. The girl at the counter was no more than 10 years old, water features had no water, the hole numbers weren't visible or easy to follow, weeds growing everywhere, little to no shade. This place is cute. Lots of really dated, crude sculptures, just like a mini golf course should have. The problem is that it appears not to have received ANY maintenance attention since the Eisenhower administration, leaving the course a in a barely playable state. There are all sorts of f'ed up parts where balls get stuck unintentionally in ripped up AstroTurf or fallen leaves. read more

The place is a decent place in Glenside if you want to play a fun round of mini golf. he place is pretty cheap, about 7 a piece for adults, so not a bad way to kill time. Some of the courses are a bit challenging due to them being on a slant and can lead to unfair circumstances. It is a good 18 holes for the price, but I have experience better mini golf courses. I would go back due to being probably one of the few fun things in that area to do. read more

What a pity. This was so nice when they redid it several years ago, and we went frequently. We have not been there for a while and went this afternoon on a Sunday cloudy afternoon. All I can say is it is a disgrace, and I'm surprised Abington Township doesn't step in to have them correct it. We've been noticed a couple years while taking a walk how bad the exterior grounds are. Weeds everywhere, trash strewn up against their fence (I realize they didn't litter and shame on whoever does it while waiting for the bus or walking from Burger King, but as a business owner, they should keep it clean). Weeds growing everywhere, fence portions damaged and not repaired. Weeds from the corner all the way up Bradfield to where their property ends. And that's just the outside. Now go in and pay $7 to play mini golf. Good luck having any success in normal play. The greens are torn up on every hole, bubbled throughout, bare wood showing through, broken barriers that are supposed to keep your ball on the green, bridges you are supposed to try to go over are warped, so even a good shot will not essentially be a good shot, and the water features are all dried up, dirty, and filled with debris. There seems to be warpage around the actual hole because each hole is somewhat raised around the perimeter. Not ONE of the 18 holes has had the astroturf replaced or repaired. They should be ashamed to take money from anyone unaware of how bad it is. I'm ashamed to have this in our wonderful Glenside town. If it is not going to be fixed up, it should be boarded up. The surrounding grounds within the course are overgrown, filled with weeds, bare spots of ground, and completely unkept. Are the owners just letting this place run its course while they operate their successful laundromat and Chinese restaurant? They could fix it up, have specials to make people want to go there, and take some pride in ownership in our township. Again, this was beautiful when they bought it and redid it about 10 years ago - we went weekly and enjoyed it so much. Even in the fall when leaves and acorns fell they would be walking around with a blower keeping it clean. Now it's simply a hot mess. The longer they let it go, the more daunting a task it will be to clean up. Spend a couple hours here and there to fix it up, and stop charging full price until you replace all the greens and make it a nicer place to go. It felt like we had broken into a rundown closed golf course. Nobody was even at the booth - someone came down from the Chinese restaurant to take our money and then left to go back. Yelpers know that it is impossible to give zero stars - you are required to give at least one to continue the review. One star is not even worthwhile, zero stars or negative stars would be more appropriate. I'm going to print this out and mail a copy to the township and to the owners of the golf course. read more

Hmm, this place must have had some serious rehab since the last reviews went in. It's really cute, perfect for the kiddies, and everything pretty much seems brand new. They have some hilarious water hazards - including one hole where you have to hit your ball over a little bridge - and nets everywhere to fish your ball out. There's a mini mount rushmore, fountains, waterfalls, and a liberty bell. Even a "practice green" to noodle around on while waiting to get started. You need nothing else in a mini golf experience. Except maybe a snack bar. Fun for the whole fam. read more

Do not go here. I brought my 9 year old niece there. Her ball went thru the fence and landed on the street. I asked for another ball, and the girl said "can you go out to the street and get it." I said "NO, I am not sending my 9 yr old out to the busy street to get it and I am not going to get it. I just gave you $21, I think I should be able to get another ball." Then, my 12 year old nephew's ball went into the pond. She wouldn't give him another ball. She said, "You have to use the fish net to get the ball out of the water." I said, "I don't want him walking all through the rocks to get the ball." I told her I wanted to leave and I wanted a refund, she said there were no refunds. I had them play the game. Aug 2012: Has been changed since 2009... All new, not "cheap decorations" like before. Not just "boxed in" astroturf. Removable "flags" at each hole. Statue of Liberty gone; Mount Rushmore installed. Nice REAL waterfall. Psuedo Sandtraps and Rough areas on the "greens". Fun and "challenging" if you want to choose the "difficult" path. Had fun and some "exercise" climbing the hills. My first visit to Hill Top after living in the area for a few years. It looks very nice, but the staff were not friendly at all. As I was asking the young lady questions, she kept looking at her cell phone and then finally she was just annoyed with me. I hate to mention this, but is now owned by Koreans. Unfortunately, they do not always treat African-Americans as they do Caucasians. I tried to bypass this because my kids really wanted to go, but I won't be going there again. I wish that we could find some way to have Korean businesses treat us with the same respect as they give other ethnicities. We keep giving our hard earned dollar, but we do not demand good customer service. Well I am now speaking with my money and I am banning any Korean businesses that don't give me a respect as a paying customer read more

I'm usually one to let bad experiences go everyone is entitled to a bad day, but my experience at hilltop left a lot to be desired. When we got there it took over five minutes for the staff to show up. The course looks cute but it's poorly designed and maintained horribly. The course ate my ball at hole thirteen which when we went to the vacant desk afterwards we found additional notes stating the same. We brought it up with the staff who offered a free round but otherwise was unwilling to meet us in the middle. I'm fairly understanding, I work in the service industry but neglecting your clients and facility is not a way to keep customers. read more

Having not been here in many, many years, I was super impressed with the upgrades and renovations. Plenty of fun, challenging holes, that are handicapped accessible too! The last hole however doesn't win you a free game, but the prices are so cheap it doesn't really matter. read more
