Super easy to make a tee-time. Go to the website and chose the date/time/number of players and after creating an account, you're done. Sort of surprising that they don't make you put a card in to hold the time like several other courses do on their reservation portals, but because of what comes next, I understand why. buttervalley.teesnap.net/ A few observations: Make sure you read the fine print that the rates listed are cash only rates. If you're paying with a card, you will eat their processing charges. The course for being in January was in about as good of shape as you could expect. Good amount of mud along the pathways between holes, most of the greens were like concrete, most of the cups were filled with ice, etc. Supposedly, we had the second tee time of the day, yet magically, there were already four groups of four out playing. Hmmmm? The first few holes were log jammed but eventually the spacing thankfully improved on it's own and things got better. Here are my two pet peeves. None of the markers were out. Orange tee is where? White tee is where? The yellows were there but anything else required a bit of guess work. Here's the biggie. The yardage for the holes. The score card says X. The stone marker at the hole says Y. A few of the holes (a few par 3's from what I remember) have a marker in the ground at the tee which says Z. Why is it this confusing to just list what the yardage actually is versus having a 20-40 yard swing? Conceptually, Butter Valley is basically the cousin to Sawmill in Easton. Is this course really 4 stars? Probably not, but, I'll give it to them because they stay open year round which is a plus and you cannot beat their winter pricing to walk 18. We'll be back.

This was my first play at BVGC, August 2025. I read the…read morereviews before the day of and so should you. I enjoyed 18 holes even though it was hot and humid. Markley Grille was a real treat: homemade meatball sliders and fries were outstanding. Why eat a hot dog.....aye carumba ! Reading the reviews about ranger harassment was NOT the case. 9-minute tee time separation reminded me to keep our play brisk. The rangers DID make sure we had cool water on three occasions - even on the 17th hole. We fixed our ball marks and a few extras; raked the bunkers as well. One bunker was in bad shape; not sure why. My understanding is that the carts are tracked electronically. Any reminder to players about pace of play is not biased. One practice swing on the tee box will serve you well. The greens at BVGC are not that hard to read. No need to do that [stuff] seen on TV. To those players who had a less than positive experience: remember to do your part and enjoy golf as it was intended. The option is to play at a country club for obscene money - if they would have you as a member. Respectfully, CH

Not to mention the 100 year old rangers are useless in having players keep pace. Had a solo player in front of my foursome who was hitting 4 to 5 balls each stroke. This held up the entire course. Advised rangers of the issue and they did nothing about it. Complete incompetence. No water coolers on course. Avoid and go anywhere to golf other than this dump.

(Maybe at some point I'll update with pictures to make this a bit more well-rounded, but for now,…read morethis is good enough.) Nothing I love more in life than being the contrarian and finding/enjoying the quirky things that few others do. In terms of a local golf course, Willow Brook checks all of the boxes. The course is located on/shares space with a horse farm. Back in the day it was a traditional 18 hole course, but the configuration has been modified to 9 with the rest of the land being turned into a housing development that is still actively being built by the 8th green & 9th tee. If you look at the map on Yelp, which is of course nicked from Google, it does a poor job explaining the simple basic of how you even get to the course unless you go to the satellite tab. You're either heading down Howertown Road and then going on to at times, basically a single lane drive that snakes through some trees and past a few homes to the parking area or you can ignore the road closed signs on Willowbrook Road and enter via Sappho Cody Lane. The parking is on some grass by a horse competition area. From there you walk down Joe Cody Lane to the shack where you pay. A few randoms: Current hours are 10-4 daily. $20 for 9 or $30 for 18 and it's cash only - all walk with no carts. Not uncommon to find the shack where you're supposed to pay be unmanned with a note taped to one of the sliding glass doors to find them on the course and pay then. So far, I paid once when the guy stopped to say hello as he was mowing the fairway grass and the other time a different guy was doing some work on the green at #4. Three par 3's that start in the 130 yard range up to the two par 5's that go to the mid to upper 400's. Nothing is terribly difficult if you can, lol, keep it relatively straight. The thing I love more than anything is the angle of them not having carts because that keeps the crowds a-way and that is what I'm looking for. The two times I've been here, counting myself, I haven't seen ten people in total out playing (chef's kiss on that one). The course is what you would expect for the price. I'm no pro so I'm not looking for much past a cheap price. To me the fairways and greens are in good enough shape. The only thing they gave up on years ago are the sand traps. They're basically concrete slabs with vegetation growing in them. Also, if you're willing to dig around a bit, plenty of balls in the tall grass and by the creek area that people gave up on. For everyone one I lose, I usually find two. Yeah, this place is odd and quirky and some will be turned off by the no carts but to me, it's beautiful and quiet. As long as the crowds don't suddenly start swarming here during the week, I'm all in for the foreseeable future. willowbrook9.com/

There's a beautiful patio which has a great view of the course. So relaxing you feel like your out in the country. We ate inside due to the humidity but would choose to sit outside on a cooler day. We ordered burgers which were really good & had a great grilled flavor. Val, our server was friendly and made you feel at home. So nice to know we have a beautiful place to go for lunch right in our backyard!
