I've been going here about 5x a year for the last 6-7 years. The course is beautiful. Unfortunately, the staff is horrible. The starter that was working yesterday was the single biggest asshole I've ever encountered on a golf course. My group plays together once a week so we are very conscientious of etiquette, dress code, pace of play, etc. We were not drinking. We were punctual. At the turn we ran in for a Gatorade and a hot dog each. Upon receiving our food, the start came running in and immediately started absolutely screaming at us, asking what the hell we were doing, if we were crazy, cursing etc. it was so obnoxious that we he was joking with us. He wasn't. He was furious that we stopped in the break area after hole 9. Screaming about pace of play. Meanwhile we didn't have a single hole where anyone was in the tee box before we finished, nor did we have to wait for anyone ahead of us at any point. The guy is extremely lucky there wasn't an immediate physical altercation based on his words and tonality. I've never seen anything like it. After the round, to be courteous we jokingly asked if we made good enough time. This dude acted like he had no idea who we were and told us we made great time on the day. It was like the twilight zone. With that said, me and my foursome will never be back. I realize this course doesn't need our money. But we don't need their aggravation. It is completely unacceptable to have someone with such pathetic communication skills interacting with every patron on your course. read more

With it's long holes, most of which are relatively straight, this is a great course to come get in some wood work. Mix in some rolling alleys, a few water hazards (hence the name five ponds), and a couple tough dog legs, and you'll find this is a pretty challenging spot to do your weekend yard work. Probably got the club record with my 41 above par the other Saturday I came here (1:10 tee time with cart for $65), but I still had a great outing. As far as difficulty goes, I found the front nine to be the worst of it, because that's where most of the water hazards came into play (though I did have my only two splash downs of the day when I was on 17); utilizing the on location driving range with it's $5 baskets is a good way to work out that first hole rust, and should help keep your score down a little. Long greens will give you room to work on your putting, and there are also a few short holes where you can flaunt your skill wirh the irons. I suggest making your tee time because it can get pretty bumping here, and I doubt they'll hold your spot long. Sneaking beers on looked possible as long as you stay somewhat covert about it, but they also sell sixers at $12 each (during peak season they are $18). Five ponds is a great scenic course with a good atmosphere of professionalism; enough class to stand out from the more lax city courses, but also relaxed enough that you won't feel like too much of a tool when you shank your first tee shot. read more

Well- maintained course. Lots of shade, trees and geese! Challenging holes. Great spacing of tee times so not backed up. So what didn't I like...the music policy. The couple behind us were blaring music in their cart. When they came closer to our foursome at tee off we politely asked if they could turn off the music. As soon as we teed off, they turned it back on. They were rude. I have never been to a course where music was allowed. The front desk told me they don't have a no music policy. Until that changes I'm not playing there again. read more

2 stars well deserved poorly run operation staff needs some training on customer service

Usually a nice experience and I purposely patronized them months ago when things were really bad. At that time they were in full COVID protocols and were thrilled to have our business. Seperate carts were the norm. Yesterday however they were insistent on charging an extra 10 dollars if you wanted a seperate cart unlike months before. As an Essential worker I was disappointed and won't be inclined to return. Every other course I've played this season has gladly provided a seperate cart when requested at no extra charge. read more

Played there for the first time in about five years and really surprised at how well maintained it was, especially the greens that were running true and quick. Played in 4:20 (10:30 tee time), never waited and never got caught by the threesome behind us. Helps to know the course. From the green tees, there are a number of holes where driver, or even three wood, is not necessary and will get you in trouble if you hit your driver over 220. The course is very nice, that's the only reason it gets two stars. The issue we had was staff. My foursome had an 8:20 tee time. There was no one in front or behind us. Well, a couple of twosomes and a single showed up immediately after us. They all happened to be regulars at the course. Game official didnt make them wait to tee off when we were far enough ahead, he did find it appropriate to drive up to us ON THE SECOND HOLE and demand that we skip a hole because we were holding up play. Keep in mind, were were playing the pace. We were already in the mindset before he came up to us to finish the second hole and let the twosome behind us play through on the third, as basic golf etiquette states. But no, he again decides to drive up to us and start yelling at us, demanding we skip a hole, and that the regulars behind us dont want to be held up, and continued complaining that we were messing the day up. Just because we weren't regular customers to this course, does that not mean our money isnt the same as someone who plays there often? Its attitudes like this is what's hurting the sport. This course will not played by anyone in my foursome ever again. And if your not a regular player here, you might want to try a different course. read more

5 Ponds is an 18 hole muni that is laid out and maintained like a private course. The holes are long and the terrain is rolling, creating many shots where you need to take the grade change into account. That includes 2 par 3's with an elevated tee shot to a green protected by water across the entire front. There are a quite a few traps and a good amount of water hazards throughout the course. It can be a challenging course, but it is still good for beginners but many of the holes are open. It's also fun for more advanced golfers because you can really just step up and let it rip on the long par 4s and 5s. Due to the course being so reasonably priced it can get very crowded, especially on summer weekends. The staff is friendly and do a pretty good job trying to keep the pace of play. Be prepared for a 4 1/2 to 5 hour round though. 5 Ponds is without a doubt one of the best values for golf in Bucks County. read more

This happened to be the first time we were able to play the course this year, we usually play it about 5 times a year. It seemed this year through NO fault of the course something always came up with our group that made us unable to go out for a round. When we played yesterday, we all thought the course would have been in bad shape due to being close to the end of the season, NOT TRUE, the course was in VERY good condition and we played in about 3.5 hours and had a GREAT time. There always seems to be issues posted about the staff, We have NEVER had any issues, they are always Great and helpful. Thank You for a Great Round of Golf. read more

Consistently the best public golf course greens in Bucks / Montgomery Counties. One of my favorite courses. Great value.

Recently played it for a corporate event and it was a nice course. As the name would lead you to believe, there are a few water hazards that need to be contended with, like the par 3 16, where you have to hit over the water that runs right in front of the green. There are a lot of holes where you had to take elevation into account, so it made shots a little harder. I can't speak to the price, since it was a corporate event, but it was nice course overall. read more

Course in great shape and greens fast and true. Would say "perfect" but some unrepaired ball marks on green, and fair amount of goose poop on fairways. Layout is challenging, particularly the back nine, however have 5 different set of tee boxes for all levels of players. The pro shop staff are excellent and accommodating, and ranger try to keep things moving along. Always crowded. Played a 4hr-15min round with a 10am tee time on a Wednesday (not fast but not real slow either). Leagues dominate the weekdays after 2pm. Two great features: USB plugs to charge your phone in the golf carts, and have a men's locker room with a shower at no charge (just need to bring a towel and change of clothes). A bit on the pricey side for a city course but above average quality and amenities. Recommended. Note: Senior and city residents get weekday discounts. Easy to book online. read more

Course is in good shape, but 5 hour rounds seem to be the norm, here. Bees in the bunkers, balls from groups playing other holes and groups wandering into your fairways were common...my 4 personal favorites from this round were 1. the guy fishing in the pond on #4, 2. the guy wandering the course hunting for lost balls, 3. the group in front of us at 17 who decided to fish out balls from the water after they hit 2 tee shots each, after they took their time to finish the hole while two groups stacked up on the tee waiting for them to move on, and 4. the 50 or so range balls littering 10 fairway and the range balls flying past our heads on our approach to the green, and the dozen range balls actually on the green on 10 from the clowns on the range who use it for practice while you are playing. This is a nice course, but I don't think we'll be back. read more

This course and Jeffersonville are the 2 nicest public courses in the area. The fact 5ponds is cheaper in price is awesome. My only 2 complaints would be rangers keeping pace of play up, and being present out on the course. Also the cart girl being on the course with drinks available for purchase especially when it's so humid out. Other than that This is my favorite public course to play in the area. read more

There's something about this course and their patrons that hate women golfers, especially when those women hit longer and straighter. We will NOT be returning. The Course always seems to be in great shape and the Pro Shop is very organized with their payment system, especially if you happen to be on file with them. Their tee times and starters are very organized and exact, which eliminates slow play almost every time. Showed up today for a tee time that was booked 1 week ahead. Apparently they were aerating and only the back 9 was open with a temp green on 17. When I went to check in the guy in the pro shop said "Oh, no one told you when you booked?" and that was it. He couldn't care less. The putting green wasn't even open. Very nice course, nice layout, well kept. My biggest problem with the course is that it's difficult for the average golfer. I'm consistently over my handicap when I play here, and some holes are just maddening like the par 5 12th hole. It's expensive for a municipal course, one of the highest public courses in the area, and as a couple other reviews have pointed out, I have had some run-ins with cranky old marshalls. Played there 10/8. Greens were recently aerated and healing- understandable. However the greens were so slow for lack of being cut made it a frustrating round. I've played many rounds over many years on new and recently aerated greens. By not cutting made this an "avoid" course for now. Bartender was nice. Pro shop guys were dismissive. I may go back for a beer. But would check to see if greens are cut properly before playing again. read more

This course is in terrible condition. I've played here for over 10 years and never seen it this bad. The greens and fairways are in poor shape from the winner and nothing seems to have been done to correct it. They have removed trees and the cut the rough very short in an effort to speed up play. Ive been playing this course as a junior golfer for about 5 years now, from walking on my own to taking a cart with my dad and his buddies, the course has always been enjoyable to play. I have never had an issue with the condition of the course, it is always top notch shape. However, the service and quality of pace of play is absolutely horrible. I don't care what anybody says, this course is over priced, most local courses have their "prime time" rate (such as weekend at noon) however they also have their good deals for those who manage their time. 5 ponds has no good deals and takes no mercy on your or my wallets. On top of that, their staff, all across the board since PJ is gone now, SUCKS. I am always a respectful junior golfer because I appreciate each opportunity to play and look forward to having a little different experience than the previous time. But they never fail to provide me and anybody that I know (young and old!!) With the poorest service. They have miserable old men maning the counter, non-motivated young kids and HORRIBLE kitchen staff (all as far as customer service goes) there is one kid going to Temple who could teach everyone a thing or two about customer service. I hung up on the one guy a few weeks ago because of his incredibly rude tone. Also, "Warmister's Five Ponds" (like its a world renowned course, give me a break) is the perfect example of a "pay to play course" you pay $65 on the weekend for a cart and are on your own. I play an 18 hole round of golf in about 3 1/2 hours at 5 ponds when there is little to no wait. I've wrapped up 6 hours rounds at five ponds, weekends AND weekdays. I have never seen a ranger on this course, I HAVE seen 5 carts on 7s tee box waiting for a 5-some on the par 3 green to wrap up. All in all, this truly is a hidden gem in Bucks County, I love the way it plays and it is an all around great course for all levels. However, like the case can be with a good sports team, the attitude there and the players just kill the course and really make it a difficult course to want to play because all of that nonsense gets in the way. read more

I participated in a four week group golf lesson. Our instructor (Ron) did an excellent job and improved my game enormously.

It's been about 10 years since I last played here. I was a little upset / the $65 that they charged is high. it is a nice course but hardly worth that type of money our 10 30 tee time was ok we had a foursome so we let the twosome behind us play through then a single came up and we let him play through during the first 9 we let one more two some play through. We got to the club house after the first nine in about 2 hours we spent another $60 for lunch and beer then headed over to 10. After waiting in line for 10 minutes a ranger came up and accused us of already playing 18 holes. He was the same ranger I talked to back on 5 . In my 30 years of playing I have never had my integrity questioned. I flipped him my scorecard and asked him what he was trying to say. I tried to explain that we ate lunch and let other faster groups play through but I could tell he really didn't care. With that our back nine was ruined. We soldiered on but pace of play went very slow from there on. 3 hours on the back nine. Some greens were pock marked and the overall course was not worth that kind of money. Course was a little crowded and we waited a bit on several holes, yet the ranger stopped to tell us to "keep up" and then seemed to lurk in the trees to watch for a hole or two but we never saw him stop at any other group. Was it because there were two women in our group? The 3some behind us was very aggressive and even though we had to wait to tee off on every hole in the back nine they drove past us to cut in when we were on a green and the group in front of us was waiting to tee off. The threes then started driving all over the course looking for open hole (there were none). Where was the ranger for that? read more

Decent course for the money. Trouble recently on the back nine with an ignorant contractor who failed to give way. Fairways reasonably cared for. Several greens very slow and dry. Staff friendly and the starter is a real nice fellow, stop for a minute and say hello. read more

This course always looked good from driving past. We played here Memorial day so it was quite busy, but that was no excuse for the starters attitude. The staff was rude, the course was decent at best with concrete bunkers, and they don't do a military discount on Memorial day (that's a little twisted). It seems they tried to pack in more people than they could handle and the golfers had to suffer because of it. I will be sticking to The Bucks Club or Middletown C.C. from now on, the courses are nicer and the employees are friendly at those clubs. read more
