We could always trust that Dr. Theobald would use excellent judgment and never recommend treatments that were not necessary. He was always extremely honest and trustworthy. After trying out Dr. O'Donnell for several years we have finally made the difficult decision to transfer our care to another dentist. Your first indication that something is amiss is when the hygienist are always revolving. A great dentist will keep their hygienist for long periods of time as there is a mutual respect. It had also became clear that Dr. O'Donnell and one female hygienist were trying to upsell us at appointments. One of our children had the hygienist say he needed advanced scaling for pre periodontal disease and so we paid out of pocket for the treatment from her yet when he came back for the next 6 month appointment the same hygienist did not even check the 2 spots she deep scaled nor even checked any of the gums before or after cleaning. She did not even mention her previous treatment. Another family member had Dr. O'Donnell upon exam say he needed a crown yet when he got a second opinion this was not the case. And the very first time I saw the new dentist and checked out after my cleaning the staff member asked me when I wanted to book my cosmetic repair on my teeth which was not even something I had discussed with O'Donnell nor requested. She said she had seen it in my chart notes and thought I wanted an appointment. It was very odd. I feel like the new dentist is upselling to cover the cost of purchasing Dr. Theobald's practice. It is very unfortunate because Dr. Theobald spent his entire career taking care of patients in the utmost ethical manner possible and I am sure he would be very saddened to see how things have evolved. I hardly ever write negative reviews but my hope is that if Alpine Vista reads this then maybe they will make some changes as to how they practice dentistry. Always be honest and treat people as you would like to be treated and cared for. It really is the only way one should run a practice. I see there is another review very similar to mine here on YELP and on other review websites. We were disappointed it came to this as we loved the practice before Dr. Theobald retired and I am sure he thought he was allowing someone with his same high standards to take over the care of his patients so he could enjoy his deserved retirement. Very sad we had to leave.

I am distressed and shocked by this especially since I have been a patient for a long time and Dr. Larson himself considers himself by his own words to be Christ Like. But the person cleaning polished the teeth before cleaning them and than she poked to deep into the gums allowing bacteria to grow under the gums causing my gums to abscess. Which landed me in the ER. to get antibiotics to the swelling down. I have emailed Kip dental, they never responded back. I do not recommend Kip dental for teeth cleaning.

He refused to return phone calls and I eventually filed a complaint against him with the Board of Dental Examiners. The Assistant Attorney General who was prosecuting the complaint told me that his license had been revoked because of numerous complaints against him. I am appalled that the State of Colorado has continued to let him practice dentistry. Twenty plus years later I am still spending money to correct mistakes made by Dr. Kuljis.

I have been coming here since 2015 back when Dr. Raymond Frye was the main dentist. I did not like…read morehim at all (see my notes on that below), but I loved Jules, the dental hygienist. It seemed like there was a rotating wheel of of new dentists there for a while...I was thinking about changing dentists around that time. But then Dr. Ray left the practice! I decided to give the new dentist (Dr. Harris) a chance. I like him much better than Dr. Ray...in as much as a typical person likes their dentist. I don't hate him so that is a huge improvement! I had a cleaning recently and then last week I had a crown break in half and they got me in same day to fix it, but it turns out that I have to get new crown. They have went above and beyond my expectations in figuring out how to proceed with replacing the crown. Dr. Harris decided to use a different material for the crown that will last longer in my particular mouth. Ruby (assistant) is very nice and keeps me well informed when I'm in the chair. Dr. Harris also explains everything clearly. Courtney is cheerful as always when scheduling appointments. I love their use of new technology! Or at least what seems to be new to me. It's impressive to a layperson. From the X-rays to photographing my teeth with a special little wand-like camera. Everything is displayed on a computer screen that you can see. Their teamwork is also excellent. They use headsets to communicate back and forth and it seems to be working well. I can't remember a time when I had to wait in the dental chair bc somebody (dentist) is busy with something else. Also, shout out to Jules, the dental hygienist. She uses the cleanings to educate me about dental health and proper care. I don't floss as much as I should, but she doesn't shame me. She simply states facts about the consequences of not flossing. She's conscientious about any discomfort during her cleanings, too. I think my first cleaning with her in 2015 was my worst cleaning with her (pain-wise) simply bc I never flossed before that and my mouth was inflamed. She did her best to make it quick but still thorough. So...Dr. Ray...I first went to this place because it is really close to my house. I got Invisalign...I regret that. I expected more monitoring from the actual dentist instead of the techs. Things may be different now. But it was not a very pleasant experience for me especially when interacting with Dr. Ray. I had questions and concerns about the Invisalign process, but there was a breakdown in communication in either how I was wording the questions or how he was interpreting them. I never got the answers I was seeking from him that particular day. I ended up leaving the office in tears and visibly upset because I felt so very dismissed and ignored by him. But I kept going back bc I had to finish the Invisalign process. Besides all of that, I was not impressed with his "celebrity" clientele that was displayed. His personality just didn't click with me. It all was very odd to me. If I happened to review this office when Dr. Ray was still present, I would have definitely left a review with fewer stars. However, since he's gone now, I think Dr. Harris and the current staff deserve 5 stars.

Brian has really taken extra time to help me understand my dental plan, has gone above and beyond in reaching out to insurance, and providing answers to me, all in a VERY timely fashion. He's always so pleasant on the phone, and even though we're dealing with not the best things (insurance and dentistry) it's really been a breath of fresh air to know that I'm being treated as an actual person, not a number, and have received answers that aren't "canned" but actually real answers to my real questions. I think we call that effective communication. I have recently had to have a root canal on a tooth in which my previous dentist didn't remove all of the decay, and it continued to decay underneath the filling..... I hastily left that dentist, and thought I'd give Dr. Theobald a try. He gave me sound advice and gave me the tools and knowledge that I needed to make a great decision on 1. Where to get the root canal done (Dr. Levine) 2. What the process would be like, and what to expect (no surprises) 3. What my insurance would and wouldn't cover, and how much. (no surprises) I was VERY well informed through the full process. I just completed having my crown placed, and based on another comparable tooth that had the exact same procedure 6 months ago by a, different pair of dentist / endodontist, the experience and outcome with Dr. Theobald and Dr. Levine was BY Far... I trusted Dr. Henes to fix the gray discoloration in my two front teeth after an accident. He…read moreconfidently told me he would have no trouble covering the gray, but the final result had two obvious gray lines running straight down the veneers. In outdoor lighting it was even more noticeable and honestly embarrassing. We agreed to have him redo them and also veneer the two side teeth. During the process, while he was grinding the side teeth, he actually knicked a small chunk out of one of my existing veneers. On top of that, the lab kept producing veneers that looked completely unnatural and did not match my teeth at all. At this point I lost trust in the entire process and decided to go somewhere else. I did not even receive a refund for the damaged veneer, and they refused to offer any type of partial refund even though the work was never completed and the original issue was never corrected. He also did a very poor job explaining the process and I still do not understand why he did not properly block the gray the first time when that was the entire reason I went there. I strongly advise avoiding this office for veneers. Dr. Henes is not a professional cosmetic dentist and the work left my teeth looking worse than when I started.
