I'd up the review if the leasing company behind Hillcrest Village wouldn't cancel The Dog Stop's lease!

I see that my last review was from 2017 so it is time for an update. We went to the Galleria in…read moreAugust 2026 and it had been a long time since we were at this mall, about seven years. This time, we stayed at a nearby hotel and walked into the Galleria so we did not have to deal with traffic and parking. The last time we were here, our impression was that the mall was mainly upscale, expensive stores. In 2026, there are a lot more moderately priced stores that are intended not to be so exclusive. After walking around for a while, our main activity was for the kid to do ice skating. It is basically $20 for unlimited skating, although it has to be continuous. You can't leave and come back. The price includes skates but you have to buy socks if you did not bring any. She was not very good at skating to begin but got better and better as time went on. We were there about 1.5 hours and that was enough. The activity seems to be attractive for kids, teens, and even adults. There were even a few people who seemed professional level. The kid begged us to do skating again the next day so she obviously enjoyed it.

I wish there was help in the parking lots. We initially thought the parking was outside Westin Galleria, but figured out that there were parking on the other side for the mall... good thing is the parking is free.. There's also a huge hotel right within the mall... there was also a skating rink, but in the mall and lots of them are enjoying their skates.. Name the brand and you have it here.. lots and lots and lots of shopping to do. Also Starbucks, juice, shops, and other places to eat within this mall. There was some work going on with escalators and had to walk around for other options... great location and convenient for anyone visiting Dallas.. slightly pricey with most shops.. worth the walk and time well spent here.. 4 stars ..

After the 1st round of dancing, they had their first hula lesson. Yes, hard to believe that they had 2 hula lessons. After the lesson, the dancers took a 30 minute break while the band serenaded us. Unfortunately, the band quickly ran out of Island songs. There were 3 guys playing. The singer played the ukulele but the bass player and drummer only played sometimes. Lots of people went home during the serenade. Hawaiian Bros had the only food booth (there were supposed to be lots of others). The line wasn't too long, maybe 30 people, but it did not move. No idea why, since their grinds were pre-made and just needed to be scooped into really small bowls. We've eaten at their restaurants so we knew they usually serve bigger helpings. Tahiti style dancing was much better. Their costumes looked authentic. Yes, we've been to many luaus. We reached the time for lively drumbeating but they spent too much time giving their drum "backstories" and a long "drum solo" without dancers. Finally, there was more dancing from Tahiti that was very good. The dancers knew their moves. We left when the 2nd break for the dancers started and the band serenaded us again. This was supposed to last 30 minutes and then we would get to see the dance with the LED lighted poi balls. This is one of the very few times we've left a show early at Grandscape.

The LED light show at the end was a great finale. Overall, it was a fun evening with a welcoming atmosphere for all ages.

It is a beautiful outdoor plaza conveniently located on Belt Line Rd, right off the Dallas North Tollway. Always seems clean, well-manicured landscaping - great photo spots! Wide variety of restaurants and bars to cater to different palates - Sushi, Seafood, Mexican, American, Indian, Italian - and that's not even all! Trust me, you will find something there to enjoy! No shortage of entertainment either between the movie theaters, sports bars, and pubs - Boutiques for shopping, a few day spas to choose from, well you get the gist of it! On this particular visit, I went for their second Annual Pairings in the Parkway event. For $25 (in advance, $30 on day of event) we got to sample a food and drink pairing from seven restaurants in the Parkway - The offerings are listed below. It was a good value to be able to sample some choices from so many restaurants. Event itself was not overly packed so we were able to get through most of the restaurants very quickly (individual reviews of those to follow). I was a little disappointed though, that when we went to turn in our completed food passport at the end of the event to enter into the drawing for a gift certificate, the event tents were already packed up and gone by 4:30 pm although the center stated the event ran until 5 pm. Oh well, I will consider attending again next year if they highlight different restaurants from the center. The Food/Drink we received from each participating restaurant! Most were sample sizes, except HopDoddy who gave us a whole burger!
