If I could give zero stars I would. My dog is currently in surgery having the royally fucked up "FHO" that was performed here in 2019 fixed. For those that don't know, an FHO surgery involves removing the femoral head AND femoral neck from a patient's hind leg. I was under the impression that if a veterinarian is going to take on an ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY that they would at least know the basics that the said surgery entails. But, alas, this clinic does not. Not only did they not remove the femoral neck on my dog but they also didn't even remove the entire femoral head. They literally cut her femoral head IN HALF only removing part of it. Because of how bad they fucked up her surgery, since I've adopted her, my dog has been living the last 5 years of her life in pain with on/off limping. She has had bone one bone rubbing for years that is now at the point of needing an ACTUAL BOARD CERTIFIED SURGEON to now go in and AMPUTATE HER LEG ($3,000 surgery). As not only an owner, but also a registered/licensed veterinary technician, I am in shock and disgust that whichever veterinarian did this surgery feels like it was good medicine to do what they did to my dog. You should be ashamed of yourself and the lack of integrity. read more

We have been seeing Dr Andy Hillman since 2017. We have two rescued cats that we just love with all our hearts, more so than words can express. I personally find Dr Andy a very good match for his and my personality as well as he has shown time and time again his superb animal medicine and diagnostic skills. I just two weeks ago lost my most loved and adored senior cat, Salty. I have never felt such sadness and grief. What hurts me is I feel I let him down. I have limited mobility as an amputee plus just had a total knee replacement. While in the hospital Salty went into a seemingly depression and stopped eating. Dr Andy took great kindness and passion making that final decision and act. However I am still struggling to resolve an unsettling question, could we have saved him if he had been seen two weeks sooner. Since I was unable to travel my wife took Salty to see Dr Andy, however arriving at 2:30 the staff was not accepting and more patients and refused to after my calling and pleading still refused seeing Salty. So I'm trying to comes to terms with my guilt I have ask Dr Andy's staff to PLEASE ask Dr Andy to call me so I can try and put my grief to rest. After and the cost is not an issue as I believe his professional fees are much inline and fair. However we gave spent close to $500 dollars on Salty as well as our female that now is in a slump. However and Dr Andy if you read this your staff informed me on Friday when I placed my request that you Dr are not one to return calls. This troubles me. I am unable to visit your facility, so not willing to take ten or fifteen minutes to call me personally is disturbing. I have had a few days to think about what i wanted to say about this clinic. I had to put my dog down on 1/30/24, i was at a loss as i have never had to do this. We went with our baby Sonny and everyone was so sweet and caring. The vet ( i can't remember his name) was so gentle with my boy. I would 100% recommend this clinic. I love this office! No extra bells and whistles, they don't take appts to see vets, you just walk in and join the wait; which has never been more than 15 minutes. You can also call ahead and see how long the wait is currently. The girls working the front desk are very helpful and happy to assist without seeming fake. Dr. Hillman is very passionate and kind, always explaining fully what's going on with my dog (whichever one of the three are there). I've also used their grooming services on 2 out 3 dogs and been very pleased with the results! Grooming does require an appointment so phone that in as the groomer does get busy! read more

Super disappointed when I took my dog here. The vet Dr. Hillman seemed curt and dismissive to me when I mentioned issues my dog was having. Not to mention the clinic is insanely pricy and to make matters worse they try to censor clients from leaving their honest negative reviews on their Facebook page. It has been 1 year since my beloved Thora passed away in my arms. I still miss her everyday. She was so full of life, sweet & loving. NEVER was she aggressive, one well-mannered Belgian Malinois!! I often joked that she didn't have blood in her veins, just pure oxytocin, Pure Love!! Dr Andy Hillman wrote a weak rebuttal to my 1st post. He kept rambling on about "End of Life"/'End Stage". Thora was definitely NOT at her END STAGE OF LIFE when she entered their office. Yes, she was having some pain & stiffness in her back but, NO WHERE NEAR DYING!! Dr Andrew Hillman, your rebuttal was ridiculous!! Explain the inflated prices. A 100% markup is normal but, your prices are way out of line. On the subject of your office staff, of course they are going to present themselves differently to you than the way they treat the public. Of course they are going to kiss your derriere. There are plenty of reviews from other people on this site that agree with me. Besides, if someone chooses to patronize your establishment they will learn quickly who is telling the truth. Thora's death was due to Dr Lewis perscribing a muscle relaxer for a dog with Megaesophagus causing her to aspirate & die of pneumonia. Everything I have posted is the TRUTH. Dr Hillman I understand you want to try your hand at damage control but, there is no rebuttal to the truth. The truth is my loving companion, Thora, passed away from ill-prescribed medication. My cat nearly died after getting spayed. It cost me over $1,000 to have another Vet Clinic save her life .

A year ago my terripoo became paralyzed and a previous vet told me I should put him down. I came here to this clinic with my dog Mr. B for a second opinion. Dr. Lewis & his staff never gave up. They did acupuncture & laser and pain meds and helped me find an organization that would donate a wheelchair for him and his Tech Sasha gave me so much info on how to care for a paralyzed dog. He was able to get back to the happy little man he always was and one day Dr. Lewis asked if we could try a new shot for osteoporosis arthritis to see if he may be having phantom pain and to see if it would work. Within 48 hrs. Mr. B started walking a little stiff legged but he did it and even played and was able to roll over in the grass once again and even run a little bit and use the doggy door. If I am late getting the shot he goes back to his former paralysis so I am getting the shot on schedule for him. Dr. Lewis gave me and most importantly Mr. B the best miracle because he never ever gave up. Several months later I had to put my oldest dog of 15 years to sleep he was so gentle with her and kind to us. I would like to mention for those who complain about the secretaries they are pretty amazing . I have personally witnessed many times people coming in and mistreating them. Not the other way around. This office is amazing and I will recommend them to anyone. There are not enough stars to give them in this review there should be more than 5 . read more

Hillman Veterinary Clinic spayed my 6 month old kitten, and she nearly died. They sent her home with a messy incision that looked like a child sewed her up, with no cone and no antibiotics -- I was told she didn't need a cone unless she licked the wound "excessively" (emergency vet later told me "excessive" means licking it at all). Her incision got infected within two days. She was over-anesthetized and was out for over 24 hours instead of the regular 12. I spent over $500 on emergency vet bills trying to save her after what should've been a routine procedure. On a prior occasion they gave her flea medicine that didn't work at all -- I suspect they used expired or otherwise useless medicine. I don't care about overly polite front desk workers, but the front desk at this place treats you like the enemy from the moment you walk in. I should've walked out immediately. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Solid, stable, reliable, reasonably priced. We rescue Rottweilers and, as a rescue, resources are always tight. We love going to Hillman because the staff is wonderful, totally comfortable with our dogs and understand that we don't need a lot of fluff. We can take them in without an appointment for standard work, which is perfect when you get a sick dog out of the shelter. The vets and staff are kind, and truly care about their patients. We have also taken rescues in for spay/neuter and fast kill heartworm treatments. All has been done at a reasonable cost and without any issues. Dogs healed quickly and are heartworm free. read more

When my cat had a stroke, I was told by the emergency center to take her back to Hillman's for recovery. They did an outstanding job with her and returned her to me in two days better than she was before the stroke. Kelly, the CVT, is outstanding. She keeps up with the emails as well as seeing patients with the Veterinarian, and is calm and compassionate and knowledgable. She was my lifeline as my cat started to decline. I have seen all the Drs. there, and they were all great, but I wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Stewart, who really cared for my Violet during her last days. She was compassionate and really took a lot of time with me explaining things and making sure I understood. After Violet passed at the Emergency Center from a brain tumor that Dr. Stewart had suspected, I got a kind voicemail from her comforting me. Yes, you do have to wait a bit since it is first come, first served (no appointments), but in my opinion, the wait is worth it. The prices are reasonable, and the follow up care is great. Thank you for making giving me more time with my baby Violet and making her last weeks more comfortable. read more

I decided to take my dog here for his 12 week vaccinations and had called when the clinic opened as suggested in their website to see if they were still taking patients since they are a walk in clinic only. They told me over the phone I could bring my dog right over since they were not busy yet. I arrived at 8:30am, 30 mins after they opened and took a seat expecting to wait an hour which I had no problem with. I just asked for an approximate wait time and the front desk just told me there were 9 patients ahead. The waiting area was small with not much seating and got really crowded, it also smelled really bad. I was told me I could wait in my car and they would call me but it was just too hot to sit in the car. I took my dog outside while we were waiting so he could walk around for a bit and on the door they had already put a sign up at 9:00am they were no longer taking in anymore patients, it got busy that quick. Finally, after 3 hours we were taken into an exam room and then waited another 30 mins before the doctor to come in. Both my dog and I were getting tired of waiting by that point I almost walked out. Once Dr. Hillman came in he was really, really, really nice but unfortunately we will not be coming back here. I thought a walk-in clinic would be quick so bad judgment on my part. If you don't mind being here for half the day Dr. Hillman is really nice but I'd rather book an appointment somewhere and be in and out especially for something quick like vaccinations. read more

Dr Andy and his staff are just simply amazing. I have English Bulldogs and was going to Vets close to home which was in and around Destin and Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. When I spoke with a couple of Breeders around the Pensacola/Milton area they all referred me to Dr Andy. What a breath of fresh air!! He saved the life of my three remaining puppies after losing two due to taking them to the wrong Vets. Now I drive 90 minutes to the best Vet ever!!! He has always took the time to explain everything in detail and he and his staff give out guidance and direction so you will have less required visits. They have all been a blessing to myself and my EBs!!! Great customer service and great prices!!! read more

Dr. Hillman is great, I would trust any of my fur babies with him....Dr.Lewis on the other hand I wouldn't trust with a cockroach.....I am not even sure he is still there as I lost my fur baby a few years back, but I seen another review today and had to comment...I took my dog there and seen Dr. Lewis....he said he was eat up with heart worms, he was swollen and couldn't hardly breathe, he suggested I put the dog down, which after crying my eyes out I agreed to do, he offered medicine too but told me it wouldn't help him and I was being cruel to allow the dog to suffer....so I agreed.....I then took my dog outside to say goodbye to my boyfriend before I had him put down...I instantly begin crying, my b/f suggested why didn't I just get the medicine and take him home and let him die where he is loved....I agreed so I went back in and told Dr. Lewis I had changed my mind, this infuriated him, he said I was being selfish, but he gave me the medicine anyway and was very rude after that.....to make a long story short my dog lived for 7 more years after that...so I would never ever see Dr. Lewis...if he is still there Dr. Hillman needs to get rid of him because he is nothing like Dr. Hillman, and he is ruining the reputation of that vet read more

If you are in a pinch, this vet might be OK. Would not recommend as long term ever for any animal. The dr was very nice. The office smelled like a litter box both times I went in there, nauseatingly. Looked like pee puddles on the floor. It wasn't even busy. And unfortunately they nickel and dime you for every piece of paperwork they fill out. Place may be good for a Last resort only! Edited to add: Front desk area was so cluttered and piled high with dust and covered in cobwebs. Not sure how they function as a business. I ended up taking my dog to Coastal Sunrise Vet, and I couldn't be happier! Clean and awesoMe staff there. Smells nice too! read more

First of all, we love Dr. Lewis. He's a wonderful vet. But the front desk sometimes appears disorganized and there can be a long wait since they don't take reservations. My husband recently waited an hour and when he checked in with the front desk to see how much longer it would be, he was told our dogs were in the back with the vet tech. He told them "No, they're right here with me". So the receptionist told him he had to get back in line. He thought that that was kind of rude and left. read more

Dr. Hillman took amazing care of my sweet cat Francois. Him and his staff are hospitable, easy to talk to and amazing at keeping you informed. I was able to call every day to check on him and even allowed to visit while he was undergoing treatments. Unfortunately we caught my cat too late in his illness and Dr. Hillman called me personally to let me know what had happened. His office offers easy cremation services and you can do it all over the phone for convenience. I cannot thank Dr. Hillman and his staff enough for taking care of my baby and treating me and my family with so much respect and love. Ridiculous policy of checking in...open 8 am and stop checking in at 9:15!! They need more vets.

The Veterinarians are great but it does you no good if you cannot get in to see them. If you want to get up and wait in line @ 7 am for 2+ hours to see the vet - then this is your place. In fact, if you get there after 9 am, they'll turn you away and say they're "Full" for the day - come back another day. No reservation. First come first serve. I cannot take off a half of a day of work every time my dogs needs a checkup, annual shot, a pill, etc... Everyone wants a good vet - they are good here - if you've got lots of time. Sadly, the business could be run a lot better (expand the office/building, hire more vets to accommodate the crowds, open a second location....etc...). There are other good vets in town. read more

WORST FRONT DESK STAFF EVER! Was treated rudely when we called to ask questions, when we walked in and when we went to pay. Totally ignored by the front desk staff when we walked in. Then when my husband asked if there was a sign in sheet we were rudely told no and immediately rudely told that somebody was in front of us. The vets were nice and so were the techs however when we went to leave we were not greeted nor acknowledged by the staff at checkout. Instead we were just simply told how much the bill would be. I was a little shocked how much it would be and asked what we were being charged for. I again received a rude reply of "you will see when you get the print out when I'm finished." I asked her a few questions about the bill and seemed to be bothering her with my questions. The phone rang in the middle of our transaction.. I was again not even acknowledged with "Excuse me the phone's ringing" nor anything nor was the caller put on hold she simply handed me my receipt to sign and then shoved the print out at me and I was not even told how to administer the medication to my pet. I called the office manager to voice my concerns and she was just as rude! "Catherine" did not offer an apology nor seem to care and I asked her what kind of office manager does not even offer an apology for such terrible service. She said "apparently I'm not a good one." I will never go back! If you don't mind being treated rudely by the front desk staff then by all means go visit this place because you will feel quite at home! read more

We take both our dog and cat here. Best prices I've come across in five states of residency, both for boarding and medications. We will really miss this place when we move again. Dr Hillman really takes the time to explain in plain English. Good doc for first time dog owners (like my husband) Also have taken my dog to get her teeth cleaned here-WOW they did a great job! Don't ignore doggie dental hygiene folks. The groomer is top notch also! If you're a regular, the front desk staff get to know you and your animals. Understand that it's CHAOTIC in there, so the other reviews that say they may be rude, remember the staff is processing probably 100+ animals a day and 90% of them walk-ins. I was considering taking a new pet back to Hillman for an elective cosmetic procedure since they're about the only ones that do them. I figured it was simple enough, that they couldn't kill another pet of mine, could they?! After reading the recent horrible reviews, nevermind! We brought our kitten/cat in for a simple front declaw circa 2005? Dr. Andy performed the procedure on a Friday and when we went to bring him home, they said he should stay the weekend for observation. We'd had several cats done at other local vets and we're always able to bring them home same day. We didn't want to but we complied and we felt so bad for him, we visited him on Saturday. His bandages were way too tight! Coban was used and since I'm a nurse, I could tell. We told this to the staff before leaving and they said they'd adress it. Monday when we picked him up and brought him home, it looked like the Coban had never been changed and still was extremely tight cutting off his circulation for what now, 72 hours?! Needless to say, one of his paws swelled to 5 x it's normal size. This led to failed treatments, amputation starting with one toe and progressing to more, then to sepsis and our cat dying a few days later! Need I say more?! Mistake after mistake was made. They even had the nerve to send us a sympathy card! They were probably afraid we'd sue them! Take your pet (s) there and take your chances! But if you do, good luck on a successful outcome! It's a shame because Dr. Andy is super friendly and seems like a really nice guy! But nice don't cut it. read more

NEVER go to this Vet!! I took my 6 month old puppy in when I noticed his stomach got bloated anytime he ate or drank anything. They ran not one single test or did any exams like they should have. All the vet told us was "He's a puppy he eats a lot he's okay". So we trusted our vet that we take all 4 dogs to and our puppy died 2 months later with the same symptoms he had. If Hillmans would've taken the time to run one single test or one single exam, they would have known he had something wrong with him & our baby would still be here today. They were clearly too busy for us as we got in and out within 10 minutes. Again, NEVER trust this Vet to make sure your babies are ok. Go anywhere other than Hillmans. read more

He had parvo virus and we weren't sure if he would make it... but he is alive and well thanks to Dr. Lewis and Catherine at the front desk. They understood that we were on a very tight budget. We've had goo experiences with their staff and the Vet docs are very personable and easily to get along with. The staff were patient with us and answered all our questions about our puppy. I have used this Vet for almost 10 years. I have endured the lack of customer service with the ladies at the counter and the most ridiculous hours of operation for far to long. I enjoy Dr. Lewis and the groomer Barbara, but they need some serious customer service training for the front office staff and should consider adjusting their office hours. For anyone with an 8-5 job, this is not the vet for you. They are closed at 5pm and during any lunch hour. read more
