THORA 2009-2019 Passed Away Too Young

It has been 1 year since my beloved Thora passed away in my arms. I still miss her everyday. She was so full of life, sweet & loving. NEVER was she aggressive, one well-mannered Belgian Malinois!! I often joked that she didn't have blood in her veins, just pure oxytocin, Pure Love!! Dr Andy Hillman wrote a weak rebuttal to my 1st post. He kept rambling on about "End of Life"/'End Stage". Thora was definitely NOT at her END STAGE OF LIFE when she entered their office. Yes, she was having some pain & stiffness in her back but, NO WHERE NEAR DYING!! Dr Andrew Hillman, your rebuttal was ridiculous!! Explain the inflated prices. A 100% markup is normal but, your prices are way out of line. On the subject of your office staff, of course they are going to present themselves differently to you than the way they treat the public. Of course they are going to kiss your derriere. There are plenty of reviews from other people on this site that agree with me. Besides, if someone chooses to patronize your establishment they will learn quickly who is telling the truth. Thora's death was due to Dr Lewis perscribing a muscle relaxer for a dog with Megaesophagus causing her to aspirate & die of pneumonia. Everything I have posted is the TRUTH. Dr Hillman I understand you want to try your hand at damage control but, there is no rebuttal to the truth. The truth is my loving companion, Thora, passed away from ill-prescribed medication. Thora & I were both robbed of several years of companionship & she died in a horrific manner, dying from suffocation.

Dr. Lewis was amazing in helping us let our Lily pass peacefully at home. We are now at the stage for our other dog to cross the rainbow bridge. We have peace of mind knowing he will be in good hands. We have a Cane Corso who had her ears cropped by a wizard surgeon they have on staff. My cat hates them but he's a bit of a pill and hates everyone, so I wouldn't take it personally.

My cat nearly died after getting spayed. It cost me over $1,000 to have another Vet Clinic save her life .

Ridiculous policy of checking in...open 8 am and stop checking in at 9:15!! They need more vets.

Dr Lewis was referred to me from a dog club member for acupuncture for my Maltese's hip issues.

This was Olive's first time being groomed by Natalie at Vanity Fur, and she looks so stinkin' cute!…read more Olive was a little nervous at first, but Natalie was so patient with her. Within just a few minutes, Olive had settled right in and was completely comfortable. I really appreciated that Natalie gave her a trim that suited her perfectly without taking off too much. On top of that, her prices are super reasonable! Safe to say we'll definitely be regulars.

I recently brought our miniature schnauzer to Donna at Vanity Fur with very specific instructions:…read moreI asked that his few small mats under the pits of his legs be worked out or trimmed/ cut and that I did not want him shaved- Something she did before without consulting with me. Miniature Schnauzers can mat easily because their traditional cut leaves longer hair on the legs, chest, and beard. That longer hair traps dirt, moisture, and debris, especially if they are active and live in areas with high amounts of underbrush and leaves. Instead of having a respectful, professional conversation with me, Dawna made snarky remarks to me in front of another customer, saying our dog would look like "Swiss cheese" and "look stupid," but that she would do it anyway. She even added that she prefers to "shave him naked" rather than have him look like Swiss cheese, and dismissed my concerns by saying, "It's just hair. It will grow back." This was unprofessional and unnecessary -- especially saying it in front of another customer, which made me uncomfortable and embarrassed. As a paying customer, I do not not hire a groomer for what she wants to do; I pay them for what I request, provided it is safe for our dog. I expect respectful communication and clear explanation of options -- not sarcasm or ridicule. A good groomer should work with owners to find the best solution for the dog, not belittle their request. When I hire someone for a service, they work for me -- not the other way around. I'm paying for what I want done, not for what they'd rather do. I will not be returning and hope this feedback encourages Donna and Vanity Fur to practice more professionalism and respect for future clients. Based upon my past interactions with Donna, I fully expect her to double down and leave a baseless and falsified response to justify her rudeness and unprofessional behavior. Nothing says "professional" like blaming your own paying customer when you get called out. Instead of fixing the problem, I fully expect Donna to deflect, and made excuses. These photos of our sweet little guy were taken the day after his grooming after the small mats were trimmed and as everyone can see, he doesn't look "stupid" or like "Swiss Cheese" and didn't need to be shaved like the owner preferred. It is our contention the Donna was rudely pushing the lazier route of shaving him to save her extra work and time. Additionally, just as I expected, I received a nasty text message from Donna in which she vowed notify other groomers in town to blackball us as customers and she falsified the majority of her response to my review. This is one really nasty vindictive business owner.
