The fairways are very nice, and the greens roll the ball very well. The down side was the greens were very hard and because they were small, we had trouble on approach shots. The course has to many sand traps, and the sand was hard as a rock so you couldn't get out of them as you do with proper sand. I didn't like that nearly every hole had numerous sand traps on them, so if you didn't hit a perfect shot you were in a trap. The course needs a Ranger. Play was very slow, particularly the last 3 holes where a party of 7 drunk players were playing/partying together. That's right, a sevensome! So, I rate the Stone Ridge Golf Course a 3. The price to play gets a 5, the fairways get a 5, the greens get a 3, the traps get a 0, the lack of a Ranger nets a 0, and the experience gets a 0 because of the drunken sevensome. Will I play Stone Ridge again? No, there are to many nicer places to play.

A very cool thing they have is... every time you play there you accumulate reward points to use towards your next round. For the average golfer, getting $5 off after visiting there is a nice thing. The bar area is very nice. You get a hot dog at the turn when you show your greens fee. Nicole is a great item and person handling that area. She is very personable and fun to talk too.

Leaks take over this place Monday through Thursday and they are abusionally slow and the management refuses to do Anything about it. I get it leagues make courses money, but they open up tee times after leagues and we pay too. And I'm talking they won't even do basic little things like have someone go out there and enforce ready golf. That alone would make a huge difference. I managed to get in six holes in two hours and 15 minutes today. If you choose to go on a weekday or during the weekend, this is a Great Course the greens are fast and firm and the course is always kept in great shape, although they are doing some pretty significant maintenance work around some of the holes it's still extremely playable. When there aren't leagues around this is probably a four maybe even five star public course. If you make the mistake I did going out and wanting to get in some golf on league nights (M-Th) it's a one star course, just go somewhere else.

With…read moreall of the racial tension going on in the world today the last place I thought I would experience this at was a golf course. We were minding our own business and not bothering anyone. A patron told us we were "slowing down" his game even though he was three holes behind us! Some guy with knee braces comes up to my brother and I on hole 11 and says "don't hit off the tee! you guys aren't following the rules." We were told each player must have their own clubs. (which is totally fine by us) The sad part is one of my high school teachers and her husband only had one set of clubs as well. Of course nothing was said to them. The two guys that were golfing in front of us only had a set of clubs as well. I didn't feel comfortable being here so I just decided it would be best if we leave. Apparently my kind isn't welcome here. No matter how respectful and kind you are.

Located in the Emagine Theater strip mall on Michigan Ave. a couple of miles East of downtown Saline, it sports 4 of the latest simulators. I love that these simulators tee up your ball automatically...the only simulator that I've found in the area that does so. X-Golf also has a full bar and some bar snacks available although we usually walk right next door and snag some outstanding sushi from Biwako Sushi. We have always found the staff here to be extremely helpful in setting up the simulators to your choice from around 25 of the most storied courses in North America along with selected courses in Japan and Korea. I also noticed that X-Golf pipes in some great tunes on their house sound system as background music...Nothing like a solid 7-iron to the rhythm of a little 1989's Free Fallin' by Tom Petty. 4-stars.
