Hilltop Market is a family ran garden nursery and farm stand in San Andreas, CA, selling flower baskets, plants, succulents, trees, garden gifts, honey, local fresh picked fruit. They grow the flowering plants right on the premise. From the road, you can see the show stopping colorful blooms growing on the side of the hills. That caught my eye and peaked my interest, so much so I made an u turn to check them out. They are right on Highway 49. The plants are healthy and in great condition, and priced competitively. 4 inch vegetable plants were priced as low as $3.50. The flowering bloom baskets had a variety of flowers with complimenting colors; all you need is a hook to hang them. I walked every inch of their shop, just in awe of their inventory. We love Hilltop Market. Last week we bought our vegetable plants to put in our garden. We were disappointed that there some missing varieties we wanted but possibly we should have shopped earlier. Hilltop always has healthy well cared for plants and that's why we drive from Columbia to shop. Also got three geraniums and a bottle of olive oil they have. I'm didn't check out the market but did look at the fruit trees, ornamental grasses and succulents. This is NOT a nursery for the novice Gardner. They have a decent selection and the plants were well cared for but very disappointed in the lack of knowledge that both gals had in regard to the plants. read more

What a cute little local run market! The flowers they have are gorgeous and looked very healthy. Their selection of fruits and veggies were also really nice, and if they had any with bruises or whatever, they had it marked down. I stopped at Hilltop Market to get white freestone peaches to can. I asked if they were freestone and the girl told me yes. They ARE NOT! I have been struggling to cut the pit out and wasting a lot of product. The flavor is non existent after waiting a few days to be perfect for canning. Now I have 50 terrible tasting peaches and I will not can them. I will never go there again. What a waste of money. When I called them the girl on the phone actually laughed. I told her I didn't like her laughing about it and it was terrible customer service. I NEVER write Yelp reviews until now. Stay away from them! read more

I go here every year for my vegetable garden. Great products. Love their fertilizer and soil for my plants. The combination of all three is amazing. Last year I had zucchini, squash, cherry tomatoes and pickling cucumbers for months. Very happy and will be going again soon. Also i love their pluots and in the fall, they have the best pumpkins for making pies. :) read more

I'll start off by saying that I have wanted to stop at this place for years because of their beautiful baskets that I always see hanging outside. Today was the first time that I was able to stop after visiting Murphy's with some of my friends. I bought a really beautiful hanging basket. I had no idea that there is a dress code for women when you shop there (I did not see any sort of notice as I walked in). Imagine my surprise when I get home and look at my receipt to find a note asking customers to avoid "strappy tops and abbreviated shorts" (pretty much what I was wearing on this 100 degree day). My other friend didn't get a notice like that stapled to her receipt, so I knew it was directed towards me. I may not be dressed to how they think is acceptable but I don't feel like I look like a whore, lol. Unfortunately, I probably won't go back there, I respect their wishes but that note that was stapled only to my receipt just made me feel unwelcome.
