We are so very lucky in Columbus to have a progressive, integrative, holistic pediatrician like Dr…read more Sant who does not simply medicate symptoms - rather, she looks at the whole child and brings the best of Eastern and Western medical and healing knowledge. She is breastfeeding friendly (something you would think ALL pediatricians would be, but not all are!), informed and relaxed about vaccines/delaying them, and has a wonderful way with her patients and their parents. We have not yet taken advantage of the yoga classes available at Whole Kids but I hope to this fall - love that they offer these! We drive WAY across town (live on the northeast side - drive to the southwest side) for the sole purpose of having Dr. Sant as our pediatrician. We've never once regretted our decision to seek out Dr. Sant for our daughter's care. I do not know what kind of chip the prior reviewer had on her shoulder, but that experience is NOT at all close to what I've experienced with Dr. Sant and her staff over the past three years. Dr. Sant's staff has been great to work with, helpful with forms we've needed filled out for daycare, and quick to help with appointments and such.

My husband and I took our first child to this practice as an infant, lured by the promise of a…read moreblend of eastern and western (allopathic) traditions. Their site and marketing is well-designed and slick along those lines. Then it all just breaks down from there. Dr. Sant, the founder and chief physician of the practice, is a very nice woman with a calm demeanor, but that alone cannot justify the administrative incompetence and failures of this practice as a whole. For 6 weeks we had been trying to retrieve a copy of our child's medical records and immunization schedule from the staff there. Numerous phone calls later, they had the audacity to tell us that they didn't "think" they could send the records directly to us. Um. Do you not know what HIPAA is? Doctors at our new pediatrics practice told us today that the records kept by Wholekids were incomplete, unprofessional and inconsistent. They told us to advise our friends to move their children from that practice, given what they saw in our child's medical record. Other details: -As a general rule, staff/receptionists do not return phone calls or messages. -Email and fax access to people on staff is nonexistent. -Getting a live person on the phone is nearly impossible -No weekend hours, no vacation backup -Some of the nursing staff are very unprofessional (screaming fit because there is a spider on the wall) -"Salesy" kind of atmosphere, trying to get you to buy expensive herbal and dietary supplements. Any benefit gained by being a slightly "less traditional" pediatric practice disappeared as every time my child saw Dr. Sant she ended up with an antibiotic prescription anyway.

There is a little, but not crowded parking lot in back where I was able to find parking both times I went. They also will cover street parking. Inside it is clean, peaceful, and well decorated. Suzi Wilkoff who I saw was spectacular! She does The Arvigo® Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage (for fertility and other benefits) and John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (for structural optimization). She is very kind and thoughtful. She also is a teacher at heart and freely shares a multitude of resources for her clients. You feel safe while you are there and come out feeling well cared for which is important, especially if you are struggling with something as discouraging as fertility struggles or persistent body aches. Her art is a little unusual (don't go in expecting a regular massage), but highly beneficial. Inner Connections is perhaps a fitting word because I felt like she gave me the inner tools to find my own path to healing. Not all practitioners are so generous. Though a blink of an eye, my visits there will not quickly be forgotten.

I figured it couldn't hurt considering I'd tried just about everything else for the pain. I called and was able to get in within a couple days with Hannah (who specialized in exactly the type of massage I needed). It was $65 for a full hour for a trigger point massage and it was so worth it. If you're having any type of pains or need a specialized massage, I highly recommend trying out Inner Connections.

My rheumatologist referred me here to try acupuncture in the hopes that it would relieve some pain…read moreI have in my back. I had heard a lot about acupuncture as an alternative to medicine so I was totally game to try it out. Before I dive into the details, I want to clarify that my review is for the office, not the doctor. That's for a different review and a different listing. Now, this building is located right off Kenny Rd. near several other medical buildings. Parking can be a little tight due to the small lots and the several buildings that use them, so just be prepared. You may end up walking a little bit. When you enter you'll notice a small area with a window where you can check in by putting down your name. To the right you'll find a small waiting area with chairs, couches, water, and the typical magazines. This place is a bit of a maze. Depending on what your appointment is for they will direct you to wait in different waiting areas. I always go straight to the back where there are a few couches and a bathroom. The acupuncture rooms are interesting. The entire office is really dated, and it shows the most when you're assigned and waiting in a room. The walls are also very thin, which is my biggest complaint. It's difficult to relax with needles in your body when you can hear everything from the patient's medical history next door to the staff laughing and traveling throughout. There is also a good bit of light pollution, which again can be very annoying when you're trying to relax in a somewhat dark room. This is caused by the windows at the top of the walls in the rooms. If the light is on in the room next to yours, it will shine into your room. My last little complaint is the call reminders regarding your appointments. I kept showing up when the reminder told me to, only to wait 20-30 minutes to be seen. After asking what the problem was, the receptionist informed me that their call software does that on purpose to ensure you arrive on time. Woof! The entire time I was coming 15-20 earlier then I needed to. The staff is somewhat friendly, and the place is clean but the other reviews on this page do not surprise me. Could it be better? Definitely! Is it one-star worthy, I don't think so. I'll stick with a solid three.

I went to see Dr. Kanodia at this practice. At first I was so excited because I have received very…read morepositive referrals for this practice. When I went I thought the facility was very nice and the staff seemed very attentive and kind. Kr. Kanodia was very nice. After looking at my new patient forms he decided to forego the exam in favor of using the hour to discuss my health history. I was impressed because most of the doctors I had seen up to this point didn't really care about my health history and didn't really want to talk anything beyond the current symptom they could throw a pill at. So at the end of the session Dr. Kanodia's advise was to go buy a diet book and try the diet for 4 weeks and then come back and see him. I beg your pardon? I asked for some clarification as to why he was suggesting this and he told me I probably had yeast in my head and this diet would help get it under control. Now, I have spent the last 3 years of my life trying to let go of the "diet" mentality because it has been a huge source of problem for me, so for that reason and other I had a panic attack right there in his office. This may seem trivial to you but for me this is a very big deal. I got myself together and explained why I couldn't just put myself on another extreme diet. Basically, he talked me into reading the book. I did and man, way extreme. A few days after finishing the chapters he recommended I decided that suggesting such an extreme change for someone who clearly has an issue with dieting based on ZERO exam or bloodwork data is a failure on Dr. Kanodia's part. I decided that I do not need to go see yet another doctor who is going to guess at what is wrong with me without ever trying to find at least marginal proof that a course of action is a sound one for the situation. If it's yeast fine, show me some data that will at least show it is a possibility. Do SOMETHING scientific. Anyway, nothing personal against Dr. Kanodia but I felt like his methods, while much nicer and more customer service oriented then your standard MD visit, still left much to be desired. So I canceled my follow up appointment and wrote a letter to Dr. Kanodia letting him know that I couldn't follow his diet. He was very nice. Then the bill came. WOW! super expensive for that hour. I couldn't afford to pay it right away and my Insurance didn't cover it (hadn't met my deductible yet.) So I did what I could and started to pay $5 a month until I can either A. get a chunk of money and pay it off, or B. pay monthly until it's paid off. Imagine my surprise when I got a letter from a collection agency trying to collect on the debt, especially since the debt letter has the original balance not the most recent balance after OSU has cashed all of the checks I sent. When I called the collector to inquire about the bill I discovered then that the office had also billed me for the appointment I canceled (long before the appointment date through their online system.) So, in short I started out with very high hopes and expectations based on what I had been told about their practice. I was extremely disappointed. I will of course be disputing the second billing, and will continue to pay on my current bill, but I can bring myself to go back there. I loved the idea of the functional medicine, I think that attitude is right on the money, but so far they have only shown me that this practice is just like every other, at least where treating me is concerned, except for the fact that they charge more for an hour than most and they send to collections faster than others. If yo decide to go see the docs here maybe you will have a better experience than I did, good luck and I hope it works for you.
