We truly appreciate the collaborative approach that they have with the parents and they encourage our involvement with activities. The teachers are well trained and in tune to not only the cognitive and educational development of the children, but also the social emotional as well, which is something HUGE for me! Our twins have been coming since they were three and it's so heartwarming to see the teachers all love on them and know them by name and share the funny stories about their day to day interactions with our kids with us as if they were members of our own family. Greater still is that OUR kids know the teachers by name--even the ones that aren't even theirs! There's such a beautiful sense of community and care. I'm so heartbroken that we aren't finishing out the year as we are relocating to the east coast come March. But I can't recommend New Hope Preschool enough to parents searching for a loving, nurturing environment where the faculty are skilled in all facets of child development. New Hope is definitely a gem and we will forever remember our experience here and are grateful to have our kids starting experience with education come from such a wonderful place.

I am a huge advocate for childcare programs that help foster both emotional developmental and academic growth, and New Hope does just that . The kiddos work just as hard on their counting and learning to write their names as they do on exploring the world around them through cultural days, art and even up-close encounters with ladybugs and butterflies! After being home with me for 4 years, my twins started in Mrs. Rainys classroom last year. The amount of growth they had in that year really set them up to succeed in Kindergarten this year. They are some of the youngest students in their class and are already reading above grade level! Mrs. Rainys is a wonderful teacher and my youngest can't wait to have her next year like her big sisters! This year my youngest daughter started at New Hope in Mrs. Wickham's classroom. Mrs. Wickham is one of the original teachers that started the program and you can tell she loves what she does and truly wants the best for each child. Mrs. Johanna is also in the classroom and even though she started mid-year, she jumped right in and has been wonderful! My daughter loves school and wakes up asking "is it school today?" New Hope is very much like a family and we're so happy to be part of it. Thank you New Hope!

I was quoted one monthly tuition amount during enrollment, but after my children started attending, I was charged significantly more than what had been discussed. In addition, I experienced repeated billing errors, and I often had to reach out to have charges corrected. It was frustrating to constantly question whether my bill was accurate. We did love Ms. Isis and Ms. Kelly they were so nice and compassionate with the kids. My biggest concern, however, was the daycare's handling of staff conduct. I learned that there were concerns about a teacher being rough with children, and I was disappointed by how the situation was handled. As a parent, I expect any concerns involving children's safety and well-being to be addressed promptly and communicated appropriately. Because of the ongoing billing problems and my concerns about how serious issues were managed, I made the decision to disenroll my children. I hope the daycare improves its billing practices, communication, and accountability so other families have a better experience.

The teachers and staff are incredibly attentive and caring. They celebrate milestones and traditions with such thoughtfulness, and their attention to detail really shows in the way they approach both academics and social-emotional development. It is clear that every child is seen, valued, and supported here. Our oldest daughter attended for 3 years and her transition into kindergarten was seamless. She was not only academically prepared but also socially and emotionally ready to thrive in a new setting. Now that she is in elementary school, we continue to see the lasting benefits of her Montessori foundation; she is confident, independent, and loves learning. Our younger child is currently enrolled, and he comes home happy and excited every single day. At such a young age, we can already see how he is flourishing, gaining independence, and building a genuine love for school. Choosing Growing Minds has been one of the best decisions we've made for our children's education and growth. For families looking for a school that combines strong academics with a truly loving and supportive environment, we wholeheartedly recommend Growing Minds.

The church is fantastic, and the kids program there for during church services is GREAT and this review is ONLY pertaining to the Eastlake Children's Center preschool which is run M-F. I was very eager to enroll my son in this program. I had heard so many amazing things about this program and it was an added bonus that we love our church. I even provided paperwork to this program when my son was approximately 1 year old (they don't take kids until they are 2 but I wanted to ensure we were not waitlisted as I had read that they were such a popular program). My son finally was enrolled this July for the 2024-25 school year. When he started he was fully potty trained. As school started it was clear there was some new school year kinks needing to be worked out regarding organization and teachers. I tried to remain positive and provide grace when a new teacher I had never met would be giving me my child without an ID check. My son immediately had potty accidents. More than when he started training. I thought this was simply because there are no potty's in the classrooms as typical 2 year rooms have at most programs. Assuming it's just a distance to potty adjustment we proceeded on. However, my son started hitting himself and yelling at himself in the potty when he was home saying "YOU GO POTTY IN TOILET NOT POTTY IN PANTS!" then would hit his leg. He's never behaved in this way. It broke my heart. I spoke to Ms. Jeanette at the front about how I think the teachers may be yelling at him and stressing him out about the bathroom here, and it's affecting us at home. They started making me put pullups on him (which we have NEVER done). The accidents never got better. I could never talk to his teacher because his main teacher was only there from 830-12 with him. Because he was a full time kid, I would be picking him up from different random teachers all the time. Some wouldn't even know which kid was mine when I said his name even thought he had been at the school a month at this point. About 2 weeks into school I picked my son up (again from a random teacher I've never met the 2 weeks prior to this) and he had a huge scrape on his forehead, as if he had fallen head first on cement. My son has been in a daycare setting since he was a baby, so I am aware that I should be getting an "ouch report" anytime there is an injury of a child, even if they are unsure how it happened. Once they see an injury, they need to report when that injury was noticed. At his last daycare I would also get a phone call for any head injuries. I got nothing here. However, it's only the 2nd week of school and I just let it go and chalked it up to the new school year situation. New teachers etc. About a week and a half later I picked my son up and he had a scrape on his nose that was bloody and thick. I didn't say anything to the teacher at pick up because when I gave the name of my child I had to point at which child he was for her to know who to give me. (again terrible security and no ID was checked). If she doesn't know my kid by his name, she def doesn't know what happened to his nose. No ouch report. Since I was already waiting to hear back from the director via email regarding my request to meet with her, I decided I would bring it up then. Then, the very next day my son had yet a THIRD scratch on his face with no ouch report. As I walked out I stopped to talk to Ms. Jeanette (I think she's the assistant director?) and I told her this is the 3rd time in 2 weeks my son has bloody marks/scratches on his face with no ouch report. All she said was "yeah you should have an ouch report" and that was it. I was hoping for "well let's contact his teacher and figure out what's happening" or "maybe we can ask the teachers to see if they set it somewhere besides his cubby" or "I will talk to the teachers and figure out what's going on" but she didn't seem to care at all. She took no worry to this. Again, I've had my son in daycare settings for a while, so I am not one of those overly paranoid parents, but the lack of concern for my son's safety, especially regarding facial injuries frequently over a short period was alarming. I immediately pulled him from the program, and reported them to state licensing. My son had been in school there only 1 month. During the time I enrolled him officially in February 2024 until the day I pulled him from the program there were THREE licensing violations- one of which was a teacher physically abusing children and another was a teacher leaving a child alone on the playground! This program used to be the best around. There was a change in the leadership of the preschool a couple years back, and needless to say the program is NOT what it used to be. My husband said that most times he picked our son u

The parents who don't even know this school are doing an injustice by rating it with just 3 stars. My 2 kids have been attending at this Bonita Country Day School ever since they can start to attend school at age 3. I stayed as long as I can & have been with this school since 2006. In regards to academic curriculum and excellence it is top notch and advance without pressure. BCDS curriculum is 2 years advance on average, and they supplement the lessons most times, so your kids will mostly likely be more than 2 years advance. My kids have been about at least two years academically advance for all their grades when they were tested. In comparison to all the many other elite Southbay and La Jolla private schools I had visited, BCDS is obviously advance. Some of those schools I checked out were even amazed to find out Bonita Country Day School 4th graders are actually doing high school math as a norm. Most new kids entering BCDS for older grades, usually needs help to catch up because they are behind at the other schools they have been attending. Kids are allowed to naturally reach their potential thru independent studies under close administering & guidance by instructors at BCDS. Parents who decide to enroll their kids here at Bonita Country Day School (BCDS) will come to appreciate it watching their kids grow intellectually & be independent thinkers. Many schools boast successful students but they cannot produce great student successfully on high academics like they do at BCDS.. If parents seriously compare curriculum, you will see why BCDS is the better choice. It shows when the kids do well when they have to move on to other schools by academics and exhibits wonderful demeanor. Bonita Country Day School has been known and proven to produce many students who are highly advance learners and thinkers successfully. Note, this school is not big on sports or fancy libraries, or pretentious show of technologies. It is about basic fundamental education to provide your kids with the building blocks for personal success. This schools tuition is a bargain if parents can recognize the real higher cost of putting their kids through standard or less than mediocre expectations at local public schools which are suppose to be free. It is the best money you can spend on your kids.. If you can find it or already have the money to spend on your kids, do it here . There is an average of less than 20 kids per class for every teacher. Its almost like you are getting private lessons for your kids. Sign up your kids now. I have been told, lesson will be provide for all grades, even if there may only be 1 student a particular grade. It's most accommodating here. Faculties from competing schools have been known to tell me on many occasions how they highly regard the talents of Mrs. C, the principle at Bonita Country Day. She does work with cooperative parents to help kids achieve high. All my suggestions and kind requests have been met during the time I have been at BCDS. I only have compliments at this school. She is especially gifted to teach & knows how to help your children grow to their fullest potential intellectually. She prepares them for the real world by helping kids slowly build their public speaking skills throughout the coursework in so many subtle ways too. That bonus part is not even mentioned in the curriculum. I have seen so many kids blossom under her special supervision.. This school is gentle in ways but do not expect your kids to be babied. The staff are nurturing, attentive and knows when your kids are feeling off or not well right away, or knows if they are just testing out the teachers patience. The kids are taught to be independent from an early stage through subtle discipline with simple routines that build up through the grade levels. It's awesome if you recognize what they are doing as parents. It is not a school to show off assets, the families who attend BCDS are mostly very successful, highly educated professionals who are also very humble. It is the right school if parents want outstanding results for their kids. Go there, & you will see... My 2 kids & I love it at BCDS!

I retoured all the local Montessori schools and decided to come back to Montessori hills for my third. It truly is the best for our family and it seemed like nothing had changed since my other children went to this school. She's been there for months and everything was going well. Until she started biting out of nowhere. We received incident reports and calls from the teachers and principal. I felt so horrible, but all the teachers and the principal have really been supportive through this. They were firm that this is serious because obviously they don't want the other children to get bitten, but they were also caring and understanding that it's part of her development. I'm a third time parent and this is the first time I'm going through this. They gave me so many tools and resources and have given my child extra support during this time. I could not be more grateful for their guidance. I read another review below saying it's a good school until your child is a problem child. Well I felt like my child became the problem child but in my experience they helped support us through the challenges and it seemed like they really cared. They put a plan in place and I felt like we were all a team in helping my child. She's improved so much because of the care and extra support we have all been pouring into her. Again- I am so grateful to the staff, teachers and the principal. I feel like my toddler and us as a family have really been supported here. Thank you Montessori hills.

So overall we have been coming here to school performances and Holiday shows since my eldest grandson started here in 2011. He is now in High School at Mater Dei. I was a bit reticent when they started going to this school because I would have preferred them to attend a Catholic private school. Because we are Catholic. But as usual time has proven me wrong. The wonderful academic excellence and innovation, that this school provides has showed me that, the right choice was made. I see how happy and well rounded my grandkids have become. They are into sports, music; one plays the cello incredibly well. It seems that this school places a high priority on individual achievements, probably due to the 13:1 student teacher ratio. All of this with the added benefit of providing a moral education along with the academic one. The school is very well maintained, and the staff is incredible. Grandparents are treated as special guests; we even have a special day when the kids perform just for us. So, in my humble opinion this is one of, if not the finest private pre-school to 8th grade school in Chula Vista. I am a fan and I guess always have been.
