Dana, the owner, was very professional and friendly and took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. He was honest about what actually needed to be done and didn't try to add extra services that weren't necessary. His attention to detail and knowledge about roof repairs and maintenance really stood out. He even offers to come out once a year, for a small fee, to check the roof and make sure everything is still in good shape--something we haven't seen other roofing companies offer. Highly recommend Gentry Construction.

Last summer, I DIY'd a solar vent system for my unfinished garage, which seemed ok, but had small leakage in the early winter's rains last year, and then got worse as the heavier rains came recently. The first company quoted me a little over double Gentry's, so I was glad I waited for Dana to come out and take a look at it the following day and went with the cheaper estimate and with a 3 year warranty, whereas the other was 2. Plus he was able to send out his crew to take care of it the next day, even in the midst of rain, they worked and replaced shingles and did the job correctly. One guy spoke English pretty well, but his helper didn't seem to, and my Spanish isn't the greatest, so I wasn't going to try and make a fool of myself. Took a couple tries to understand sometimes, but eventually, I got the gist of what I did wrong, even though I thought I had followed the manufacturer's YouTube video correctly. Once I saw what the pros did, it made much more sense. This will be my last DIY roofing project, and I will just refer to the nice professionals like those at Gentry Construction to do the work. The guys that worked on my roof worked well and hard despite the rain, and luckily it wasn't too hard and intermittent. Shout out to all the hard working immigrant workers out there!! Initial communication with Gentry was great and fast, so was surprised and a little worried when after the work was done and payment was sent, the finished invoice took a few days to get communicated back, but eventually it was sent and all is good. I imagine they were probably just swamped with other jobs and got busy just as I did with getting this review out.

Fosters Pumps - Looks pretty new... June 24 2022

    Fosters Pumps

I believe I began a rather poignant review of this " Water Pump Company that advertises their…read more"Rural Pump and Water-Well Digging Services" to "those in the "country atmosphere"... So now several months into this current year of 2022 I'm wrapping it all up. Useful things to consider about my knowledge & lived experience: I was raised since the age of about 2'ish, in the country/rural way of life & the city didn't offer their city water services so having a well dug was done at your own expense most of the time & a precious commodity for life. It is an expensive, time-consuming process based on science, mathematics, skill, integrity and so much more. They were swift but not overly rushed and they all worked well from what I could observe as a "team". The heavy equipment operators were skilled and it was apparent to me when observing them dig the trench and manipulate the soil that they had skillsets for days in these areas. They left the area in the back of the property with a substantially large hill of clean excavated soil and smoothed around it which gave it a clean polished look. They asked where the mound of large earth would be preferred PRIOR to dumping it there which for me, I appreciated and so did my mother; their client on this new well water dig project. The only area of disappointment was the turnaround time for the "testing of the water". Initially when I asked I was told it would be done that same day with the results on-site and/or available for reading in no more than one week. why: You must know your new water is safe before consuming and/or using it. This is a basic rule-of-thumb in this type of work. The reasons I was told each time I phoned to inquire were: We're super busy but your water is safe. Huh? That one doesn't compute as she said the water hadn't even been tested yet and that was a solid month or greater after the work. It's really dangerous when drinking and/or the environment is subjected to water after a Digg like that and that is because septic systems are also a must out here in the country so there's no way to know what heavy metal, feces, human waste, fungi or whatever could be lurking in your new well water Digg. ALL the onsite employees were personable and professional and it was pretty neat to watch them all work together and apart all while keeping a positive playful but professional disposition. It was greater than 2 months after the work was done and they finally came out to collect water samples. This single negligent & unprofessional & irresponsible act on the part of Fosters Pump took what was going to be a 5-Star review down to a lowly 3.

Recently they added pipe to a well on the property, and repaired a pump on a different well. They showed up when they said they would, and I'm am satisfied with the repairs made. My husband and I were looking for materials for our bathroom remodel. Tiles, Vanity, countertops,…read moreetc. We came in on 2 different occasions and I can not recommend Granite Expo. On our first trip, it was busy and no one really seemed to want to help. Since it was our first time, we walked around for about 2 hours really trying to narrow down our decisions. Some of the displays are confusing as to what the prices and choices are so it was a little difficult. If you were lucky enough to get a sales person (we were not) then maybe you were able to get more info. We wrote down our choices and left. I came back by myself during the week hoping it was not as crowded so that I could actually get someone to write me a quote. When I walked in the front door, there was a young women sitting at the first station. She looked up and said good morning. I said good morning and then I went to look at the bathroom vanities. I knew I still needed help, so I walked up to her to ask for help. She turned from her computer monitor, looked me in the eye and said "I am busy right now" and went back to work. What? OK, that was rude. When she saw I was still standing there, she looked to the gentleman to her right and said "Oscar, you are too busy to help her as well, correct?" Oscar looked at me and said I can help you in about 10 minutes. I wish I had gotten her name because she was incredibly rude and disrespectful. After a few minutes, Ocsar tried to help me. I could tell he was rushing and really didn't want to help me so I just gave him some of my choices so I could at least get a quote. I think if you are a contractor they treat you better than just a regular person coming in to look and get prices. My contractor was not with me, so maybe if I had brought him it would have been different. For me, customer service is terrible, pricing and choices are confusing if you are just trying to look around and overall this was a bad experience. I would not come back, especially if someone like the young lady talks to customers that way. We wound up going to another bathroom company to ultimately purchase our vanity, cabinets and counter top.

From outside, it didn't seem all that grand (don't seem interesting), but once step inside - very wonderful site! Hence, don't judge something by its exterior! Quite a big warehouse store with many choices to choose from for your kitchen, bath or flooring upgrades/renovations. They even have some ideas for backyard patio/decking. I understand this is one of their 10 locations in Northern CA. Appreciate their complimentary free sample bag, coffee /expresso machine to make your own, and water dispenser to help you stay hydrated while shopping.
