Both of our dogs have now had their appointments and I am SO PLEASED with our experiences at this clinic. Booking our appointments and becoming established with the clinic was so easy and the front desk staff was incredibly friendly. While at our appointments the staff was friendly and greeted us upon entry. We were immediately roomed to our exam room, which I thought was awesome because the dog that walked in ahead of us was elderly and clearly was not liking my dog being near. I think the immediate rooming is great for those pets that do not do well around others and everyone gets their privacy. We had Dr Milford and Dr Rathje as our vets and both were excellent. They took the time to make our dogs comfortable in the exam room and listened to our concerns. They also have an app which allows me to easily see when my dogs are new for their next vaccinations or see any appointments I have scheduled. We received text reminders prior to our appointment and a follow-up text afterwards to see how our pets were doing after receiving their vaccines. They also called with the results of the bloodwork the same day of our appointment. As stated in another review, they do take a "no show" down payment prior to your appointment. They are very transparent about this while scheduling your appointment and explain the fee well. The money they obtain goes towards the cost of your appointment, but if you do not show up for your appointment they keep the money. If you cancel you appointment in advance they do not charge you the no show fee. As someone who works in the healthcare field, I agree entirely with what they are doing. Many patients "no show" and that open spot costs money for the clinic/providers, plus it was valuable time where they could have been helping someone else. In other words, ignore the 1 star review from the other person. DVS is a 5 star facility and I would highly recommend them!

This was one of the hardest moments of my life, and I expected his final moments to be peaceful. Instead, while we were in the euthanasia room, I could clearly hear staff members in the hallway laughing and talking loudly throughout the procedure. The noise was so disruptive that I had to ask the veterinarian and assistant if someone could please ask the staff to be quieter. MY DOG NEEDED A SECOND SHOT! Whether the staff realized a euthanasia was taking place or not, the result was that my dog's final moments were not the calm, respectful goodbye every family deserves. That memory has stayed with me. Months later, after taking time to process what happened, I sent the clinic a thoughtful email explaining my experience and asking only that they help ensure other families receive a more peaceful environment. I never received any acknowledgment or response. I can only speak from my own experience, but because of what happened--and because the clinic never responded--I cannot recommend this clinic for euthanasia services. Every family deserves a quiet, compassionate environment when saying goodbye to a beloved pet.

I used to trust this clinic, but my recent experience was a nightmare, and it is not the same place it was a few years ago. When I brought my cat in for an emergency recently, the clinic was in total disarray. Dr. Elmer told me all her employees had quit and spent the majority of the time complaining to me about it and trying to recruit me to help her hire staff--all while my cat was suffering right in front of us. There was zero paperwork, no explanation of procedures/options, no ask for signed consent, and no discussion of costs. Because she had no staff to assist her, she actually had me hold the anesthesia mask on my own cat's face. I didn't even realize what I was being asked to do until I could smell and taste the chemicals myself. This is a violation of state standards. After struggling and failing to place a catheter 3 times, all while I watched, she suggested extreme surgical options or told me she "wouldn't blame me if I wanted to take him somewhere else." When my husband and I ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to put him down due to ongoing medical issues, she tried to guilt-trip us, asking if she could keep him for her own personal farm, as an outside cat. When we told her that we wanted to end his suffering she said "Oh so you won't let him live on the farm" and stormed out of the room. Our cat was an indoor cat his whole life; he would have been terrified, and after the care we witnessed I had no faith he would be safe with her. She offered no condolences after he passed, just wanted to have us pay for the visit and cremation - yet failing to provide us ANY information on cremation or a timeline. When I called for information on cremation the following Monday, the "receptionist" who answered explained she didn't even work there--she was a client from the previous week who had been asked to help with the phones. She had no access to files or information. When we found out our cat hadn't even been scheduled for cremation pickup yet, we had to go and take him to the crematorium ourselves just to ensure he was handled with dignity. I have requested my cat's full medical records five times in the past two weeks and have been intentionally ignored. I have officially reported this conduct to the Wisconsin State Board. If you have experienced similar unprofessionalism or unsafe conditions here, please file a report as well so there is accountability. I truly hope sharing this helps someone else avoid the trauma we went through. Please be careful.

When our animals have been sick or needed neutering/spaying, the doctors and desk staff scheduled us within a reasonable period of time sometimes right away. Several times I have telephoned for help and have gotten advice over the phone; ex: what to do with a kitten which was gasping for air, bubbling at the mouth, and Dr. Wilson diagnosed that it had gotten something stuck in its throat and offered an easy-to-administer home remedy which saved the kitten. No charge. They're no-nonsense, practical, know their business, easy to work with. Our 4-H kids got yearly notification reminders to have their pets wormed, annual shots, check-ups. We still get those for the animals in-house! I recommend them highly.

My Boston Terrier suffers from year-round allergies to both environmental and food elements. This was the first vet that suggested an injection instead of a daily pill. Not only was the injection less traumatic than pills for my dog, it was also less expensive. Because we were in here at least every 6 weeks for the allergy injection, we got to meet most of the staff. We were always greeted with enthusiasm and kindness, they seemed genuinely excited to see my dog. The techs and the doctors never rushed us and always took the time to listen to my concerns. They also offered a lot of knowledge along the way. Their prices are very fair and they never charged me for an office visit when we were there solely for an injection. During a yearly examination it was discovered that my little guy had a fractured tooth and would need it pulled. I was overly paranoid about him being put under anesthesia and when I dropped him off for surgery, the staff could tell. They were so incredibly nice and assured me that he would be fine. While he was getting ready for surgery they recommended they pull some other teeth to avoid future issues. They kept me informed before, during and after the procedure and made sure I understood exactly what they were doing. When I came to pick him up the staff told me that he got some extra attention during recovery, as they brought him to the front to hang out with them. I can't tell you how much that put my heart at ease. Dr. Leslie performed an at-home euthanasia for our neighbor's dog who had been suffering from cancer. She encouraged our dog, the neighbor dog's buddy, to be there during his last breaths. Everything about this clinic and their staff is wonderful....with one very small exception. There is one woman who answers the phone often and she can come off as quite rude/short. It's a little off-putting when you're not expecting it but easily looked past if you make it into the clinic to meet the rest of the staff. I would, and still do, recommend them to anyone in the area.
