We enjoyed our time here. We did not get a waterfront room which I kind of wish we had because our room was hot so we opened the window and had to listen to traffic at bedtime. Might have been better on the other side. The hotel provided us with a fan when we asked so that was nice. Staff here were friendly. I asked for an early check in which I did not get and in fact did not get notification that my room was ready till way after check in. The pool was open even at this time of year but very cold. It is not heated! It is nice to be able to walk along the waterfront and we were able to walk down to where there is a stop for the hop on hop off bus. We did not try the restaurant. My sister had the breakfast buffet. She said it was good but like 30 Euros per person. I wanted to go to dinner there one night but I didn't really see anything I wanted and it was pricey. read more

Front desk guy says since I m a Hilton Honors member, they were gonna allow me to add one more without additional cost. What a B.S. However, I did pay extra for a breakfast. Got a room with the view of Danube river. Very very close. Hope there is no monsoon raining while I m here. Room is quite, spacious, remodeled recently. Water pressure is acceptable but not great. Hot water was awesome. The bathroom was clean, but do have mold Sink drain was closed by default which was very inconvenient. Since this hotel is 8 stations away from central location, get the metro pass. The front desk can help. There is a unmanned small shop for drinks and snacks. Huge restaurant at the lower level closer to the river. Breakfast time. Lower level, the same level as the Danube river. River front? Its a huge area. Got the usual fixing plus make your own juice, eggs to order, honey served in a natural honeycomb state. Lots of tea options. Even has loads of fresh ginger to put on your tea. No plastics here. Not a single one. Loved the idea of using smaller version of ice crema cones for jams. Very thoughtful operation. P.s. Don't buy water from the store. Rip off. Stayed at the Hilton for five days for a conference at the convention center, which is 15 concerts walk from the hotel. The building is from 1933 and well kept. The rooms are of a good size and the bed is comfortable. The rooms have a coffee maker and a tea kettle other than this fairly spartan. The service at the front desk is attentive and very polite. The breakfast restaurant in the basement is modest sized and it is not always easy to find a table. The restaurant seems to be overloaded too many times there was no juice or the coffeemaker was out of milk, ... The executive lounge on the 8th floor is very nice with snacks and a glass of wine 5-7pm most days. Overall a great experience at a modest price. read more

Set away from the city center along the Danube, the Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront was a good hotel to stay at for one night before flying back to Washington, D.C. Here's why. 1) Location: We prefer to stay more in the center, but we've done that in Vienna. This trip was short and we had an early flight so the location was great- not too far from the center or airport. 2) Rooms: Being a Diamond Member, our room was on the sixth floor with the executive rooms. The first time we stayed two nights and then left our luggage and went to visit Tirana for couple days and returned back at this facility for another three days. This is our 11th or 12th trip to EU and we have stayed at various Hilton hotels. On occasions we have left bags in between stays to visit another country and then returned & stayed another few days. No where in any country have we ever been asked to pay to keep our luggage at Hilton property for couple nights! This is the first Hilton, who asked us to pay for each bag for the no of days we left it at their property!!! I was very surprised! Isn't this a perk for gold/diamond members! I am not happy with this at all!!! 2: TV channels have nothing in English except couple news channels! We had a wonderful 10 day stay at this beautiful hotel by the Danube River in Vienna, Austria. We stayed in Room 726, and you can refer to photo below for the panoramic view of the Blue Danube from our room. There may be a few travelers that this hotel wouldn't be quite as fantastic: 1) Couples wanting romantic getaway- There are a lot of families 2) Those wanting a quiet atmosphere - This is a very busy hotel ( at least during our stay in July): All common areas are crowded- including Breakfast Buffet, Swimming Pool and Executive Lounge 3) People who are unvaccinated or not wanting to get Covid Testing- This hotel strictly reinforces the requirements. We had to show our proof of Vaccine for each and every meal. Yesterday, I saw a family attempting to check in with 3 adults ( both with Vaccine certificate) and 3 young children who seemed to be around age 7-11 years old. They were not able to check in until the children returned with Covid Test. Honestly, I think this is Austrian mandate, and the hotel personnel are nice about it but they do enforce requirements. Also, there's a free covid testing site 5 minutes walk away. Additionally, the Whirlpool/Hot Tub are currently closed due to Covid We enjoyed our stay very much. The LOCATION Is very convenient with Stadion Metro station 5 minutes away, mall with shopping and groceries 7 minute walk, and a Hop Off Hop On Bus stop 10 minuye walk. I would not stay there again Watch watch your things even if they're in the room and you put out the do not disturb sign. Don't have them ever come and clean your room. Keep things locked in the safe. You'll still end up missing things bad customer service. We used the safe in the room and chose not to have daily house keeping. We were there two nights. We put( we travel al lot) our documents bag ( which holds passports and 4 different envelopes of currency) into the safe when we got there. After checking out and traveling to Salzburg we discovered our currency had been stolen out of the safe. We contacted the hotel and we informed there was nothing they could do. Not stay with them. It gives an excellent impression upon approach as it sets majestically overlooking the road and the river. It's nicely lit at night. The lobby offered an unusual layout and design as the front desk was not overwhelming as it can often times be in some hotels. The restaurant was a level below the lobby, which also contributed to making the lobby feel less hectic than some. The staff was outstanding. The restaurant staff as well as the front desk and lounge personnel were all very strong in people skills as well as service orientation and attitude. They made me feel welcome and appreciated. As a Hilton Diamond member, I received access to the lounge. It was a long layout with comfortable seats and nice views. The staff were great, particularly the evening manager, but the food offerings were basically adequate from my perspective (I am nitpicking now). It was not the worst variety of fare I have seen in lounge offerings but it was definitely also not the best. My room was great. The highlight, of course, was the aforementioned river view. But the room was also spacious and clean and the bathroom offered very good maneuverability. The WiFi worked well during my stay and the work area was quite functional from a utilitarian point of view. I took advantage of this several times during my stay. The bed was comfortable and the noise levels were minimal allowing me to get good sleep. The breakfast in the restaurant was superb. The variety offered was terrific as they had several hot choices (eggs and meat) and the normal breads, cereals, yogurts, cold meats and juices. I thought the honeycomb was a great touch. My room rate over the weekend was unbeatable at 87 euros per night. This made the value excellent as well. I will look forward to staying here gain should the opportunity arise. read more

We had some money in the safe and it disappeared, we asked about who had access to the room and were told nobody entered our room. We had an excellent stay at the Hilton Vienna Danube. We had a waterfront room with an excellent view of the Danube River. The hotel is not in the city center; however there is a metro station that takes 5 minutes to get to by foot. Vienna's transit system is a dream and you can get to the city center very quickly. Our room was big, clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful, especially David, who helped us find a way to ship one of our big luggage to Prague at a very fair price. The front staff also helped my husband get to a 24 hour pharmacy to pick up a medication. Overall, I would say that the hotel and amenities were 4 stars, but the customer service was 5 stars. I would definitely come back and highly recommend staying here while visiting Vienna. read more

The price per night was great which is understandable since it's outside the city. It's close to the metro and only two connections to the city center, very easy. Check-in was smooth and easy. The room was pretty good,bed was on the firm side and was a bit squeaky ( frame not the mattress). ....the bedding was great. The heating/cooling system was limited to no cooler than 19 Celsius and no warmer than 25 Celsius. It was pretty warmer in pr room so the only option was to open the window to cool it down. The bathroom was stocked with quality toiletries and the towels were soft. The executive lounge was pretty decent. Breakfast was too be ready at 6:00 AM and one day it wasn't easy until around 6:45. The hotel is within walking distance of a grocery store. Overall good experience. read more

I can't comment on price to value ratio because I stayed here as part of a tour group so it was included in my price. I will comment on my experience during my stay. My tour director mentioned that this hotel went though a full renovation about a year and half ago and I have to say this seems successful. Overall the rooms are rather spacious even for American standards. I was assigned a two queen bed room. I stay at Hilton hotels for work all the time so there is definitely a level that I expect and this place is on par if I dare stay above par. There is a mini bar (paid and locked) as well as a tea kettle with a variety of complementary instant coffees and tea bags. There is an iron and ironing board in the armoire. The bathroom is also decent sized. Plenty of room to move around and sink counter space. In the bedroom area, there were two queen beds, plus a large work desk and swivel chair as well as a couch and coffee table to sit at. There is a counter as part of the set up for the tv cabinet that holds the minibar. There are also plenty of plugs around the room. Since I was part of a tour group I didn't get to earn points or use the lounge but I was given free wifi in the room for my inconvenience. Wifi is not free in the room but is free in the common areas if you don't have this perk. You can pay a fee for in room wifi. Breakfast is also included with our room rate. read more

I am a diamond member and have stayed in Hiltons all over the world. This particular Hilton has not been up to the standards of other Hiltons. First, being a Diamond Member, I purchased the week with points, roughly 300k points. I was treated like a second class citizen. My in-laws paid for their room and we're upgraded and given priority. I was happy they were taken care of. However, my family had to wait and our room was not ready. The room I picked would not be the room we ended up with. We had to wait some 30 minutes to be taken care of. When I asked them why our room wasn't ready, the front desk employe explained to me they were different types of rooms. I told them I was a diamond member and she couldn't care any less. My wife spoke with her, and she agreed to give us free parking for the week. Which to me would have made up for this inconvenience. However, that would not be and we had to ask why we were being charged for parking. Then after about 10 minutes of discussions, we were finally given our free parking. House keeping was awful, either no coffee or no additional waters. Always something. The bar was awful, I waited for drinks amd couldn't get the bartenders attention. I had 2 drinks and finally gave up. When I finally got my check, I explained I would not be tipping him. He then asked oh, do you want a drink? Not now! The restaurant staff was awesome! Never had an issue with them. The food was great. I personally will never visit this hotel again. I am also thinking about giving up on Hilton and finding a different hotel chain to give my money to. I stayed in a wide variety of hotels during my recent European trip and this one was the best of the bunch. The room are spacious, which seems like a rarity in Vienna where many centrally located hotels tend to be on the small side. The views of the Danube (depending on where your room is) are lovely and the beds are extremely comfortable. The location of the hotel isn't downtown, but it's not far from the subway and is a quick taxi ride from the city center. The hotel restaurant is good and the breakfast buffet options are pretty solid. The service is also quite good. But ultimately what I like most about this place is how comfortable the rooms are and I slept by far the best during my trip here. The wifi here works very well. I had no problem with connectivity (compared to some other hotels I visited during the trip .. don't even get me started on what I had to deal with in Prague). Either way even though this place may be farther from downtown than some other hotels, the price is very reasonable and it's totally worth the extra space you get in the room IMO. read more

We arrived in Vienna at 7am off the night train from Prague. I am a train lover and had thought that it would be a great idea to travel by train. As it turned out, neither of us got any sleep and were exhausted when we arrived. I had hoped that the hotel would have facilities for us to shower at before we headed out for the day but they totally exceeded my expectations by letting us check in early in the morning. When we walked in our room, we were so excited about the large (American-style) beds, seating area, and spacious bathroom. And we had a great view looking out at the Danube. Although the hotel is not super centrally located, it's convenient enough by taking the U-Bahn. Many of the main sights can be reached on the Line 2 without changing trains. I had used Cash + Points for my booking and felt that it was a good value for what I paid. read more

Summary: Near Prater Park, but somewhat far from city center. If you're on a budget but want something large and really nice, go for it. Staff is great and complimentary breakfast area has fantastic views and food. Location: I was running a race in Prater park early morning and this hotel was extremely close by. I met my friends in City center which was about a 12Euro ride (to the opera house). The subway ticket is far cheaper and is a short (10min) walk away. You won't mind if you're on holiday, but on business it's likely a bit much. This is a great spot if you have a bike or want to rent 1 about 1 mile away. Plenty of paths along Prater Park and the Danube or you might figure out how to navigate into Vienna vs. taking the U-Bahn. Service: Service is Hilton standard. Quick check-in. Nice professional staff that get you sorted. They do not tend to have early check-in for all the US flights, so you'll want to check your bags. Amenities: The VIP lounge is great. Next to the breakfast area, there are gorgeous views of the Danube to be enjoyed along with a nice selection of magazines and papers. There is a pool and a tiny work out room if that is your intention while staying. The Hotel: It's a Hilton with nice rooms and a great tub for post-race soaking. The look of this Hilton is quite modern and is the larger size room you'll find when you're not in the cramped inner city Hilton branches. I liked that plugs were thoughtfully placed and readily available. Lighting in the bath was great. If you're a family with children, the beds are American style sizable, so you"ll fit nicely. The room had great amenities such as amazing city views and a mini bar. The hotel had a lovely restaurant and modern bar with good food. Apparently, hotels around Vienna are rather small, with the exception of this hotel, as mentioned by Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront's website. Honestly, it's the standard double queen bed suite that most hotels have. The building itself is remodeled and is situated on the Danube river, so only half of the suites are actually waterfront, and those that are waterfront suites have an amazing view of the river. What makes the view even better is their huge window that can swing out completely, and possibly haphazardly (no screen to protect stupid people from falling out). The bathroom was adequate with a detachable showerhead. There, however, was a lack of bathroom fans, which made it quite humid. Being an USA-er, that's something I've seen as standard in hotels. The outdoor lounge/bar area is very nice, since it's adjacent to the river. There are large couches that one may slouch on. They also provide blankets which may be of use during the briskness of night. Some things that were concerning for me where the lack of mosquito repelling items situated around the outdoor lounge/bar. Especially at night, since the hotel is so close to the river, there are very large quantities of flying insects around. Also, the humidity control and the cooling central air weren't on par of the higher teir hotels. read more

The hotel is adjacent to the Blue Danube. Sunrise is just gorgeous. I'd definitely suggest this hotel and will also stay at this hotel on our next trip. The station is just a couple minutes walk. There is a convenient store between the subway station and the hotel. Our first night we ate the restaurant--wonderful food and wonderful service. It was a little ways to get to the old town of Vienna but the rail system was about 3-4 blocks away, near a stadium. We got the 2 day rail pass and used it to see Vienna. The hotel and room were okay. Someone recommended going up to river view room, probably a good choice. The hotel is on a busy street and the street noise might be an issue on the street side. The river view was nice. Nothing super great, but nice. Only saw one river boat go by the 2 days we were there. We didn't try the restaurant or bar but they looked nice and lots of people were there. We didn't use the out door pool but it was a busy place while we were there. Overall, nice place, albeit a little outside the main city area. read more

Consider the costs of the inconvenient location, and this place actually becomes expensive: there was nothing majorly wrong with this hotel, but once you factor in the costs an inconveniences of the location, the terrible, expensive food, and poor service at the bar I would have to imagine that there are better choices at this price range [importantly] once you include the cost of transportation to and from the hotel and the cost of the breakfast. Location: The hotel is located on the Danube, which seems nice, but the view is not really all that great (our room had a view) and the hotel, though close the airport, is far from most of the things you're going to want to do. Yes, you can take the metro, but if you take cabs an ubers twice a day that will add about $30-40 a day in costs depending upon how far you are going and the exchange rate. There is also the issue of having the hotel be so far from the touristy things: once you're out, you can't really return the hotel to rest or change easily, so you stay out for the whole day. Breakfast: A huge ripoff, that should be considered when you consider the price of the room. Obviously, you don't need to buy it, and we only did it once, but it something to keep in mind. The breakfast plays into the location issue, and I would imagine that they know this. To our knowledge, there were not many obvious options to eat near the hotel so unless you eat breakfast after you're out for the day you're stuck eating their expensive, bad breakfast or going without food. When you check in they point out that the breakfast is not included and try to get you to purchase it in advance. Luckily we did not do that, but we tried it one morning. It was very expensive $37 at the exchange rate at the time, and awful. It was just some food scattered in a room. They wouldn't even serve you water. there were just some bottles in various states of consumption, lying around. Service: The front desk people were friendly and efficient. The room seemed clean, and those are obviously the most important thing, but the service at the bar ranged from indifferent to even rude at times (yes I have considered the difference between service cultures in the States and in Europe when making this judgement). Once we stood at the bar for several minutes while the whole staff just averted eye contact and therefore would not serve us. Sitting out on the terrace, the waitress actively ignored us though she served others even though there was even a call button for waiters. It might be a staffing issue, but it really soured me on the hotel, and as I said, it's an isolated place so it is not as though we could have gone around the corner for a night cap. I am sorry to write this review but believe me I have more than enough reasons to do so. It all started at checking in, the lady helping us was terrible, she barely understood us and she couldn't find our reservation, when she did, she could only find 4 out of 5 rooms we reserved, we were lucky there was two rooms left since the hotel was fully booked. Next as soon as I went into my room I washed my hands and when I opened the little trash can in the floor it was full of disgusting trash that was left behind by the previous guests, I called housekeeping and they told me they didn't had housekeeping services at that time, I asked for someone to come clean the bathroom finally they sent a lady who cleaned the bathroom. Next day while I was taking a shower I found bugs in the shower, sorry I am not attaching a picture, I didn't had my cellphone at that time, but still find it disgusting. During dinner at the restaurant they handled me a menu and they left a kids menu for my kids, there was a dead bug in mine and the children's menu was completely scrabbled and unreadable, I took pictures of both. A lot more to say like terrible service and bad location, far from all the interesting things to see. The only two positive thing I have to say, and believe me I tried hard to find the positive in all, it's the view I had to the Danube river, and the spacious rooms. read more

After few Long stays it is high Time to share my opinion about this place. Becouse it is really Good place, and I will be really happy to recommend the stay here :) the main plus is the space-everywhere - huge rooms, gigantic beds, bathrooms, lobby and restaurant. Location directly at the River offers both Great views from the rooms and nice place to spend time outside the hotel-walk along the river is always a Good idea, no matter if after busy day in the office or during the vacation with family. However! I would say it is rather famillies-friendly hotel than People-travelling-for-business-friendly. If you are looking for a quiet area for chilling after the whole Day it is not a Perfect march. If you are looking for intimate and romantic atmosphere it is not a place...with more than 400 rooms There is no way to be a romantic place...when it comes to service provided it is Ok-nothing to complain about, unless you face some trubles and need help :P than it is as usuall-they are very sorry but (of course) cannot help you (but of course they are checking and will solve it) yeah, maybe ...and I will maybe come back read more
