Highly recommend this hotel! It was an incredible location and centrally located in the city. Everything we wanted to do was walkable. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and it smelled delightful inside. The breakfast in the morning is worth every dollar and the bar has amazing cocktails and is open fairly late!

Le Méridien is a great hotel in an upscale quarter of the beautiful vast city of Vienna. We were lucky to have a massive room with high ceilings and a city view. My sweetheart was quite pleased that we were across from Steinway Haus and just a 5 minutes walk from Bösendorfer Piano Salon, as he is in the music industry, a talented pianist, drummer, and also very skilled piano technician. How lucky is that!! :) Le Méridien is now a part of the Marriott Bonvoy Brand thus again comfortable beds, plush towels and good service. The staff was accommodating, plus we had a chance to enjoy their brasserie lounge restaurant off the lobby serving southeast Asian cuisine, and the breakfast buffet in another section on the main floor serving all types of hot and cold breakfast choices. Vienna is another beautiful city!

Great experience at Le Méridien on our recent stay! Convenient location by the city center, Naschmarkt, and other restaurants and sites. A large room with plenty of space and the largest bathroom I've had in Europe. Two sinks and a rainfall shower head + 2 side jets. I loved the closet with iron and board + hair dryer and mirror. So many European hotels make you plug in the hair dryer in some random part of the room with no mirror. Nice included breakfast with traditional meats and cheeses along with omelette etc. you won't go hungry! We had a terrible taxi one night who tried to scam us and they dealt with him for us and apol

Am I in A Clockwork Orange? Is this The Rocky Horror Picture Show? No. This is my hotel. Le Meridien Vienna is a great hotel overall, about what you might expect or slightly better from a Le Meridien property, the location gives it a big boost. I'm sorry, its a nice hotel, but the lobby and the room decorations are weird. I embrace weird usually, but this was not what I was expecting at a nice hotel. I confirmed the weirdness with an American couple that was also staying there. In the lobby there are very bright lights, mannequins (that change positions throughout the day!), plastic red leather couches and very strange art all around. The rooms had mannequin hands holding apples and there were little window cases in the desks with colored peppers (yes, peppers). I thought I might be in some kind of modern art museum, but alas no, it was my hotel. Now on to the serious part of the review......The hotel is conveniently located in central Vienna close to many of the tourist spots and a big plus to being nearly on top of the subway (lines 1 2 and 4 at the Karlplatz station). Getting there: one can take a number of different routes to the hotel, the obvious being a taxi (approximately €45-50), the bargain basement (but clearly not the quickest) is the subway which comes into the basement of the Airport and for a bargain basement price of €2.20 you can buy a ticket and take the S7 train to town, connect to any one of the lines that will take you to Karlplatz. The alternative in between these two extremes is the "higher speed" (about 1/2 the time of the S7) CAT train (I think it is about €16 but don't quote me) that will get you to Landstrasse station and from there you can hop the subway or taxi. The minibar, is included which is a nice touch, but it isn't a "normal" minibar - you get one water, one regular coke, one coke light, one apple juice, one orange juice and one beer. Additional drinks need to be "phoned in" and will hit your bill. You cannot easily "trade" for drinks that you might want. It would be a nice option that the hotel stocks the minibar like a normal one and you can have say, 6 drinks out if for free -- of course, this defeats the labor saving current system where nobody needs to check it and there aren't billing issues when you leave. It does get restocked every day that you are there so it is a daily service, not just once for your entire stay. Since it is essentially baked into your room rate, I would recommend that you take advantage of it. The breakfast is much better than average at a (much?) higher price than average. If it isn't in your room rate, it will set you back a "mere" €32 (or about $41 USD at current exchange rates), making it one of the more expensive breakfasts that you will find in a hotel. It is a comprehensive selection of foods and on average, of higher quality - but at this pricing it should be! I had an upgraded room and it had one of the nicer bathrooms I've been in, despite the other weirdness. No problems sleeping even though my window was facing the street. Free Wifi.

Le Méridien was great and very welcoming. I've received welcoming emails even prior to arrival asking whether there would be anything I may need. I asked for suggestions on places to eat and was given a variety to choose from. I stayed in an Executive Suite in a corner that had a decent view. The room was great. Very modern and nicely decorated room. There are 2 bathrooms. One full and one half. The full has a deep soaking tub big enough for 2 people and an awesome shower. The shower is large and has 3 adjustable shower heads that can be used simultaneously. The room also includes a complimentary minibar. The breakfast buffet is great. There is quite a bit of variety to choose from and had pretty much exactly what I'd want. One of my favorite things that they have that others don't are smoothies. I've been to SPG hotels around the world and the first that I've noticed to have smoothies. One of the things I liked and disliked at the same time is that they give you their messaging number whether it be via What's App, iMessage or blackberry. It's convenient to just send a text and make a request than to stand in line. Especially if you're not even within proximity to the property. That is what I liked. What I didn't like was noncompliance to my respectful request. I don't really drink alcohol nor sodas. So I requested that they replace the sodas and beer with juice instead and the mineral water for still water. They said that they would be more than happy to via iMessage. This was in the morning around 08:00, upon return was their default mini bar selection. I then in person asked again of course politely the same request around 16:00. I return around 21:00 and still nothing. Everyone is nice, as are the rooms. So, that is my only major complaint. My complements to the experience specialist Nicole Kirchbaumer, there at Le Méridien deserves recognition for making my wife and I feel most welcome there. More so than most properties I've stayed at at SPG properties world wide.

Excellent place to stay in Vienna! Centrally located, a block away from the Opera House, right off of Opernring. We stayed there right up until Christmas Eve. Great place, well maintained, super friendly staff. For any Starwood Preferred Guests, they definitely extend their appreciation for your membership, much better than in the United States. The room was contemporary, good decor, and well kept. We had a view of a park. Not the place if you are expecting to get eye-popping skyline views. I would definitely stay there again. The one negative I do have to say is this, GET IRONS WITH STEAM! Yes the room had irons but not with steam, seems petty but since I iron everything its a big deal to me. Still a 5 star place and service. PS. Also apparently the hotel hosts a happy hour party once a month. Its huge with the locals, literally a line around the corner to get in. We had an absolutely amazing time there, everyone, staff and visitors were super nice and everyone was having fun. Don't worry, like I said, this hotel takes care of you. If you are a hotel guest, no lines, admission, etc. Which made it even better.

Beautiful hotel and great service. Very conveniently located and central to all the sites and tons of great restaurants. Free wifi throughout the hotel and complimentary refreshment bar in the room is refilled daily. Had a small snafu with getting our luggage but overall a great stay here!

It is next to a Shell gas station and a car dealership, but I felt safe walking to and from the conference. There is also a metro line about a five minute walk from the hotel. I don't know anything about parking there but the breakfast that came with our stay had plenty of food. Sorry I didn't take any pictures. There were two kinds of egg, sausage, cheeses, and cold cuts, cereal, a pancake maker, lots of breads, different kinds of coffees, three juices and a machine where you could make your own fresh carrot and apple juice. The room was clean and just what we needed. The toilet is in its own little room. the shower is in the room with the bedroom however there was a curtain that could be pulled to separate it off. Our room was in a different building than the main hotel and breakfast area. But it was a 15 second Walk in the back. There was a full service bar downstairs, which was pretty lively at night. Plenty of things to choose from there. It was a solid option convenient to the convention center. If I were going to Vienna to sightsee only I would probably not stay there as it is on the opposite side of the river, but it's convenience to the metro station made going into town very simple. Our last day was the day of the Vienna marathon. It was a bit crazy outside our hotel and given we were not there for the marathon it made getting to the metro a little more complicated. However, there is a place to cross the main street underneath the road right by the metro so don't you know that trick you are all set to go.

The general area of the hotel seems a little sketchy, but the hotel itself is quite clean and updated. The rooms are very utilitarian, clearly geared toward a younger population that are satisfied with just the basics. Unlike our other scheduled hotels on our rail tour, this was the only hotel that charged guests for breakfast (and not a small sum at 23 €). I passed on this opportunity and bought my breakfast in town and on the train after my departure the final morning. The check in was self-service, which seems a little impersonal to me, but the bright side was we were able to check in before 1:00 pm. Staff that issued our room cards were friendly and answered our questions about the local tram. There was a free area to get water, so we used it to fill our travel bottles in the never ending battle to stay hydrated following nights of mulled wine. That was a feature none of our other hotels had, so this was a big plus. This hotel is definitely worth considering, just don't expect any luxury touches.

As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, certain benefits are part of that loyalty. I had two reservations for this stay: the first portion was booked under my name, and the remaining nights (which together totaled seven nights) were accidentally booked under my husband's name and his Bonvoy number. In the past, I've never had an issue having reservations like this paired together. I even called Marriott in advance and was told not to worry, that the hotel would merge the reservations upon arrival and that my Platinum benefits would apply for the entire stay. The flight was delayed into Vienna, I contacted the hotel through my reservation to notify them. At the same time, I again requested that the two reservations be merged and asked whether my Platinum benefits would override my husband's so we could have lounge access for the duration of our stay. Ronja responded and clearly stated that this would not happen and that my Platinum benefits would not be honored for the second half of the stay. After going back and forth and realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I decided to address it when we got to the hotel. When we arrived at 1:00 a.m., Michael was at the front desk, and he was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. He resolved the situation immediately and without hesitation. Ronja's LinkedIn lists her title as "Hotel & Hospitality Specialist," but based on this interaction, additional training may be beneficial. As a lifelong Platinum Elite member, I certainly did not feel like a valued guest. Aside from that experience, the hotel itself was absolutely perfect. Our room was lovely, located on a high floor with a beautiful view overlooking the park. The hotel has so much to offer, and the Concierge Lounge was one of the best I've ever experienced. It was open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.--which is impressive in itself. Breakfast was served every morning with a great selection of both hot and cold options, and the coffee machine offered an excellent variety of choices. There was also a daily happy hour from 5:00 p.m. until closing, with beer, wine, and a consistent selection of food and snacks. The lounge staff truly went above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. The views from the lounge were magnificent making it a nice place to relax after a long day. This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic part of the city. It's within walking distance of major sights and excellent restaurants. If you're visiting Vienna, this is a wonderful place to stay.

As it happened, our first night was in Vienna at the Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen. When we opened the door to see a King bed as well as a large couch and coffee table plus a nice desk with an adequate number of plugs to charge "devices", we knew we were being spoiled - by "our" standards in the States. This was my first time in Europe, but the shower took a little experimenting to figure out (but it wasn't too hard). The A/C cooled quite well; nice since it was warm when we arrived. Other hotels on our trip had no A/C at all; there we simply opened the window to let the cool air in. The Front Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Andrea in particular was able to help get my iPhone and WiFi only iPad set up on the hotel's free WiFi. Since we were stay-ing 2 nights, this was a big help. They were also pleasant when I had to break large Euros - they had run out of 5 Euro bills because others were needing change, but he was still pleasant. The bed was so comfortable that it was quite easy to fall asleep, even though keeping the room cool was not as easy. Something new to us was the lack of a "flat sheet", we had one heavy comforter. Still, a decent night's sleep. Oh, the breakfast, or Frühstück, was incredible. So many choices of different foods. Everything from fresh cut fruit and 5-6 varieties of yogurt to pastries, breads, bacon and eggs, sausage links, many choices of coffee and juices. I could go on, but I was well pleased with the breakfast. The breakfast was quite delicious with the numerous options. To clarify, back in the States, some of our hotels do provide a very decent "Continental Breakfast". Over here, though - this is a different Continent and we had a far better Breakfast. Overall, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay - helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and excellent Frühstück. If you're coming to Vienna, you will be quite pleased when you stay here.

There's even a small bathroom in the living/sitting room area with a television, couch, and minibar. The bed was comfortable and clean. I had a wonderful view of the city. The executive lounge is bright, clean, and decently-sized. There's a library which serves as a more private area. There's also a patio outside with a decent view. Breakfast has elements of English and continental. The eggs and breakfast proteins were hot. There are extensive coffee/hot drink machines and also a soft drink fridge. During off hours, there are snacks, spa water, and soft drinks available. I had the "happy hour" food once, which consisted of French onion soup, caprese salad, and "Asian inspired chicken nuggets". The nugget wasn't all that great but the soup hit the spot. Overall, this was an enjoyable perk. You're close to a U-bahn station and just over the bridge is the Inter Stadt. The hotel is near lots of restaurants and a variety of stores. Yet it's really quiet in the hotel. Overall, I cannot complain about my stay and the service was excellent throughout.
