Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront - Event Review Casino Night with Premier Events I didn't stay overnight at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, but I had the pleasure of working a casino-themed event there with Premier Events as a blackjack dealer. From a working perspective, here's the scoop: First off, thank goodness for valet parking! Parking at the oceanfront can be chaotic, so the valet service was a major plus. Quick, easy, and hassle-free. The event itself was lively and fun. We were part of a private convention that booked a casino night as part of their entertainment. The setup took place on the second floor, and although the group ran a bit behind schedule with dinner, once those banquet doors opened, the energy shifted fast. Everyone came pouring in, ready to play--and they had a blast! The hotel staff? 10/10. Even while working behind the scenes, I interacted with several staff members and each one was friendly, professional, and helpful. You could tell they were seasoned in handling large events smoothly. Clean and classy. Although I didn't get to explore much beyond the main hallway, elevator area, bathrooms, and banquet room, everything I saw was spotless and well-maintained. The vibe was upscale without being stuffy. Overall, if you're looking to host or attend an event at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, this spot gets a big thumbs up. Great staff, great service, and it doesn't hurt that it's right on the beach.

No matter your room the view is fantastic. You can get full ocean view or city/ ocean view. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs that has a wonderful breakfast. You have to pay for parking and the garage is attached to the hotel via people bridge. The staff were friendly and made sure the room was cleaned. The ocean is right outside so how can you complain. We had a good experience here

PROS: - Orig booked a dbl/dbl city view (HGV 3-night timeshare promo); however, upon check-in, I was graciously Diamond upgraded to a dbl/dbl oceanfront on 11F (#1110) - (Gold/Diamond) $30 daily F&B CR (does not roll) - Very good location with EZ access to the beach - Comp beach towels are available at the front desk or Concierge and can be dropped off at the blue container across from the Concierge desk. - Live music outside of Catch31 in the evenings (goes to around 10ish) - Gym: decent / limited, dumbbell rack (5lbs - 50lbs), (2) adjustable benches, cardio machines, peloton bike, waters, small towels CONS: - Every now and then, the shower makes this odd jarring noise but I quickly learned to tune it out. - Wet spot on the carpet around the corner of the room, adjacent to the HVAC. - Beach chairs & umbrellas = $20/each (2 chairs are no longer comp for Hilton mbrs) - Exec Lounge no longer exists (sucks for Diamond mbrs) - Elevators are SLOW (expect queues) - Parking (paid)

I liked the location of this hotel, located between 30th and 31st street located across a huge parking garage where self-parking is $15 with in and out privileges for hotel guests. There are many restaurants within walking distance. For Hilton Diamond members, they do provide a daily F&B $15 credit ($30 if you have another guest name in the reservation), plus this is like the only Hilton hotel that has an executive club where breakfast, drinks and evening snacks are provided. The executive club attendants were so awesome. This IMO makes this the Hilton hotel to stay at in VA beach. For the beach, the hotel provides towels at the concierge desk and provides two beach chairs (need to tell the beach rental people your room number). The pools on the 21st floor was a lot of fun especially with the Sky Bar. Our room was cleaned daily and have no complaints about the room. I just wish they had two queen size beds instead of the two double beds. Catch 31 is a nice hotel restaurant but drinks can be pricey. We walked over to Murphy's Irish Bar which is couple blocks away for drinks. Now some of the cons: - Elevators! - these have to be the slowest elevators. They only have three elevators, and one was out of order. We were on the 17th floor and decided to take the stairs instead of waiting 15-30 minutes for an elevator. Be prepared to wait a long time during peak hours. - Noise - You will hear the roar of the jets quite frequently during the day. Neptune Park is right next to the hotel, they have concerts from 6 PM - 10 PM on most days so be prepared to hear the loud music. Because of the Executive Lounge, this will be my hotel of choice in VA Beach.

A solid 4 star rating in my opinion. Can't beat the location oceanfront and so much ample parking in the garage ($15 a day with in and out privileges). For the beach, the concierge desk has beach towels for you to use and you also get two beach chairs at the beach! Just tell tell the beach rental folks your room number and they will provide two chairs at no cost! We really enjoyed the Skye Bar at the rooftop. Oh and the two pools too. Lots of pool towels too. Catch 31 dinner was alright, good crab cake with lots of lump crab meat. Bar closes at 1:30am every night and they also have a late night food menu after 11pm. The staff at the club lounge were the best! I was so surprised they have a lounge here and it saved our families so much $ on breakfast and bottled waters and Pepsi products. Evening apps was good too. Thanks again to the staff here! Thus made our stay and for Diamonds, it's complimentary (breakfast at the Catch 31 food credit wont apply for Diamonds). The room itself was fine, even though we had some issues like the tub drain being really slow and the safe was locked from previous guest (quick call to their engineering got that solved right away). Now our room blackout drapes didn't close all the way and used my towel clips to get the room dark. Would recommend this hotel for a good beach vacation!

Great view. Great customer service. Awesome location within walking distance of everything.

The staff at the front desk was hit or miss. These should be the friendliest people you encounter yet it wasn't true across the board. While they were unable to accommodate early check in they did honor a late check out. My favorite employees were the Valet guys! Prime location and lovely pool! The view was breathtaking! Rooms were clean.

It's an Okay place. Really in need of a renovation - probably because in the summer it is a popular place. It's showing its wear and tear. The location is very good - near the north end of the resort area. Near Duck Donuts and the 30 something numbered streets. An easy boardwalk to either side of the Va Beach Beach area. Needs paint, repair and attention - especially for the price. We had concierge lounge access with the free breakfast. not bad for being free, and the employees working the area were very accommodating and nice. We received some points at check in. Beds were comfy, view was good. Just needs a reno. Recommended for area and service.

I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

We selected this spot because…read moreit was dog-friendly and relatively cheaper (with decent reviews) compared to other pet-friendly hotels on the boardwalk. Our three-night stay in March, which was booked in November, was about $250 per night. Although there was a half marathon happening in the area, I think our rate (booked through a 3rd party) was on the lower end because March is still considered the off season. The hotel itself is quite modern compared to the other more dated hotels in the area. It definitely is geared to younger crowd (20s-30s) because of design, layout, the amount of video games, the bar with snazzy cocktails, and of course an indoor slide that goes from the 2nd to the 1st floor. For our purposes, I thought our room was fine for two adults and a dog. Compared to other places I have stayed, the room was a bit small. However, we're the type of people who only use the room for sleeping so not having a huge amount of space is not a deal breaker for us. Although our room had a partial ocean view (on the south side of the building), the view was still impressive. My spouse did have a minor complaint in that the rooms did not have a dresser or a closet, but the room has plenty of hooks/hangers where you can hang your things along the walls. Although the hotel is not in the "central" area of the boardwalk (around 21st street), it is still located in a nice section of the boardwalk that is walking distance to a wide array of restaurants, bars and other attractions. For example, the hotel is next door to the Wildfowl Museum. ;) Valet is about 11 bucks per night. In general, there were no major issues with valet services. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue in that the hotel overbooked valet parking due to an event it was hosting. However, that situation did not affect us too much with the exception of a slightly longer than normal wait. Everyone on the staff with whom I interacted were friendly and very professional. Also, I thought the cleaning crew did a great job with maintaining the hotel. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, I did not smell old/wet dog/cat odors in the common areas or hallways. If we decided to stay on the Oceanfront, we definitely will keep the Moxy in consideration.

Staying here you do have some perks they give you a complementary drink voucher for you to use during your day and it's for each day for you to get two drinks during happy hour which is from 4 to 6pm and snacks are included with that. Breakfast was well served and well prepared. They had every section to breakfast classic foods as well as if you want it it's more of like quick and simple like cereal, bread, toast, and then they have their own station of omelette where they had a chef that would prepare it based off of what you requested. The layout is very nice. I love how they gave us wristbands instead of a key card for our rooms and to use the elevator. It's very secure as well as being able to not have to carry around a hotel key to get in and out of your room as well as any other areas where it has access to it. The vibe itself for the hotel it definitely gives you like a vacation outside of your classic beach vibe because you have pools. You have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and a restaurants. this right there called tacos and tequila. They are currently opened but I we'll highly recommend getting there during their non-peak hours, and their food is amazing. Their Baja fish taco is my favorite to get from there. They also give you the option for parking valet parking as well as parking pass, which is the overnight rate which is $25 an hour and you can go in and out of a parking lot. That's another thing I did like about that general area where the other hotels including this one is that they have a parking garage where you're not obligated to have to to get another ticket or get charged extra for going out if you needed to so I didn't think that's a good perk for me by that wants to stay and have a staycation but still has to do some type of things throughout the day. I would highly recommend going to these hotels. The room service from the restaurant option is the restaurant where you get the complementary drinks from and they are operating throughout the night even later hours and I do find that very convenient for people that like to go out like Myself and wanna have like a nice good bite or even dinner our late night dinner I got their salmon which was really good. This location is definitely a hidden gem You're kinda in your own oasis away from home, but you're in Virginia Beach because they have it set up where it's essentially like you're on a private island and you just have like the view point of the beach and they offered other enemies, including beach, chairs, umbrellas, and stuff with your say so that's also a good thing for people that want to just get away for a little bit but wanna stay in Virginia Beach so I highly recommend staying here as an option if you're looking for something that has a little bit of everything and you have nearby access to other things like the other restaurants that are in that same area.

The housekeeping staff does a meticulous job cleaning each room after the guests leaves. Throughout our nearly 6 months stay, Jerome and Herbert in particular have really gone out of their way to keep our stay here feel like home. For example, when our A/C unit failed in the middle of murky summer, Jerome replaced the entire unit right away. I have also had trouble handling the incredible humidity I've not experienced since leaving Japan. But thank goodness for Jerome again --he ensured I had a really good dehumidifier that also helped muffle noises as well. I cannot emphasize enough on what a truly instrumental role he had played in keeping my whole family feel comfortable. I find that especially noteworthy because we were there for quite awhile. The Lodge location is steps away from the Dam Neck Naval Base Beach and the sunrise is beautiful. It also has a kitchenette that is fully functional to cook a good meal unless you need an oven. The fridge is big enough to put in whatever you need and the stove is easy to cleanup. The cabinets are stuffed with everything you'd find in a kitchen. Cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, wine openers, wine glass, dish rack, soap and sponge. You name it, they have it. And this is what really makes the stay better than being over at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) if you are here for awhile-- especially if you are like me and prefer to cook your own meals, staying at the Lodge is a MUST. And if you have pets, the Lodge is also AN ABSOLUTE must. One of the great things about Navy Lodge Oceana is how pet friendly it is. Our two beagles loved the area and there are 3 receptacles on-site to keep doggie poo thrown out. Keep in mind that it is a high tick and flea area so ensuring they get brushed after a walk is a must! Well, not unless you like to shriek like me when I found two ticks on my laptop thanks to my dog ubering them inside. And just for the record, both dogs also take Nexgard and Heartgard monthly. Now the NGIS might work beautifully for those who are in the Dam Neck /Oceana area for short term stay, or ok with eating takeouts every day because you don't cook, and /or doesn't have pets. Or that they'd prefer the nicer furniture or less noise to deal with. I've stayed at both and NGIS is far easier to make reservations for leisure and their beds are very comfortable. In sum, I had a fantastic stay and I look forward to returning every chances I get. For $75/night, the rates are exceptional and the location is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to everyone. -- Cons: Elevator--The building has no elevator. So if you have loads of luggages, you will need to take it to your room upstairs using the staircase. Reservation --Making reservation here can be pretty easy if you are staying because of TAD/TDA/PCS orders. For leisure traveling, you'd have better luck at the NGIS or other nearby civilian operated hotels. The leisure travel can be only made 7 days ahead of the stay. And chances are, you are 99% likely to be told they have nothing for vacancies, or they have something for just 1 day out of a 7 day trip or something very inconvenient. WiFi--The WiFi here can be spotty, nonexistent, or extremely slow. If there's someone playing video games in the evening, you can tell right away and you have a bad night ahead of you if you need the Internet. It'd be far less frustrating to get Internet connection elsewhere. Also, the cellphone data connection here is also rather lousy. So no, using data won't help with watching YouTube or something else. If you need to make a call, you'd also have better luck by going outside. You'll see bunches of other sailors or marines pacing and walking around sometimes for the same reason. Noise level--You can hear just about everything from your surroundings. Toilet flushing, heart stopping door slams, other dogs barking all day, people's conversations and/or TV sounds all hours of day, jets, gunshots from the swamp side, housekeepers cleaning , anything in the hallway, etc. Privacy Please sign on the door doesn't mean much either. So if your next door guest has his alarm go off at 0500 and well into 0800, nobody can or will do anything about it. Well, not unless Herbert is working in the morning. He was the only person who was willing to intervene after multiple other lobby staff refused to help. Try imagining the alarms making a loud incessant beeping the entire time behind your headboard at 0500 on a Sunday for 3+ hours while the other guest somehow sleep through it or not even be there over the weekend! My point is, if you are sensitive to noise stimuli, or dislike wearing ear plugs, I don't recommend staying here.
