My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Oceanfront VA Beach hotel. The room was big, clean, comfortable, and the hotel was in a central location right on the ocean. The complimentary coffee bar was super nice and we appreciated the amenity. The rooftop pools were nice, albeit crowded at times. My only complaint is that their music is playing 24/7 and got old quick. It would be so nice to have quiet hours in the morning at least. read more

Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront - Event Review Casino Night with Premier Events I didn't stay overnight at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, but I had the pleasure of working a casino-themed event there with Premier Events as a blackjack dealer. From a working perspective, here's the scoop: First off, thank goodness for valet parking! Parking at the oceanfront can be chaotic, so the valet service was a major plus. Quick, easy, and hassle-free. The event itself was lively and fun. We were part of a private convention that booked a casino night as part of their entertainment. The setup took place on the second floor, and although the group ran a bit behind schedule with dinner, once those banquet doors opened, the energy shifted fast. Everyone came pouring in, ready to play--and they had a blast! The hotel staff? 10/10. Even while working behind the scenes, I interacted with several staff members and each one was friendly, professional, and helpful. You could tell they were seasoned in handling large events smoothly. Clean and classy. Although I didn't get to explore much beyond the main hallway, elevator area, bathrooms, and banquet room, everything I saw was spotless and well-maintained. The vibe was upscale without being stuffy. Overall, if you're looking to host or attend an event at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, this spot gets a big thumbs up. Our official rating is 2.5 out of 10. We will give a 3 out of 10 for two reasons; Location and Judy (the Hotel's Front Desk Manager). The location was perfection and Judy was more than accommodating. Thank you JUDY! On 7/18/2026 Please note that for the PRICE we paid, our stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. This property is poorly maintained, disorganized, and has serious safety and customer service issues. The staircase was absolutely filthy and poorly lit, making it unpleasant and potentially dangerous to use. To make matters worse, only one elevator was operational for our entire stay, and the broken elevator was never repaired. There were no signs informing guests which elevator was working, so everyone had to waste time figuring it out themselves. Because of the broken elevator, we had to walk up and down five flights of stairs every single time we left our room or returned. Unfortunately, that became even more frequent because our room wasn't properly stocked. We arrived to find no towels, washcloths, or soap. The room telephone didn't work, so we couldn't even call the front desk to request these basic necessities. Instead, we had to walk down five flights of stairs to ask for them, then climb all the way back up again. The condition of the property was unacceptable. The balcony doors were rusty and filthy, trash and dirty linens were left sitting around for far too long, and there wasn't even any ice available. The most disturbing part of our stay was a major security failure. While we were sitting in our suite watching television, another group of guests was somehow given access to our room and walked right in. Thankfully, we were only watching TV, but this could have ended much worse. There is absolutely no excuse for a hotel allowing strangers to enter an occupied guest room. This hotel fails on cleanliness, maintenance, communication, and, most importantly, guest safety. Comfort Inn & Suites should be embarrassed to operate a property in this condition. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay here again until major improvements are made. These days money isn't as easily accessible, so if we choose to spend it at your facility, we would like to feel that it's money well spent. read more

We stayed at this property for a quick family get away and it was so worth it. We had an ocean view room looking over Neptune park. I loved sitting on the balcony listening to the music and enjoying the sites and sounds of the ocean. Would recommend the ocean view rooms if you are into listening to music. I could see where these rooms wouldn't be for everyone due to the amount of noise that is always happening in this location, but it worked for us and it was perfect! The kids loved the indoor and outdoor pool options on the rooftop too. Nice to go to one location and never have to move the car to enjoy the long weekend away. read more

I wanted this place to score higher but as our vacation went on more and more issues arose. Parking: They offer valet parking for $30 a day vs self park for $25. We chose to self-park because we have two young kids and need the car several times a day and historically found that valet needs at least 30 minutes to get your car. The garage is located across the street from the hotel entrance and there's a sky walk to get you there without having to cross into the main road. For parents, this place is a logistical nightmare. The process of checking in requires you to pull up to the valet, get out and go inside for a parking tag. Once you do that you can park your car and walk back to the hotel to grab a hotel cart. In hindsight, we probably would've been better off using the valet service. Once you unpack your car you take an elevator in the garage to floor 2B to access the sky walk. As you cross the skywalk you then take an elevator down to the main lobby, walk across the lobby, and then an elevator back up to the rooms. Normally I don't think this is a big deal but doing this a few times a day with a stroller/beach wagon really caught up to us. Additionally, the elevators were consistently full so we had to pass and wait for the next one. The first time we went up to our room we waited 17 minutes to catch an elevator that could fit us. Check In: We arrived early so we were told we would be texted/called when our room was ready. Unfortunately, this never happened and at 5pm we called ourselves, only to be told our room was ready and waiting for us. Room Service: We were there for 3 nights and ordered room service 4 times. Every time I pressed the FOOD button on the phone no one picked up. Each time I had to call the front desk and place my order with them, I assume they walked the order over to the kitchen. On our first morning we asked for room service to come later in the day. When we left in the afternoon we requested for them to come now and they never arrived that day. We just had the room cleaned the next day. Amenties: There's a hot tub on the roof that has lukewarm water and no jets. The infinity pool is very nice and the gym is stocked with cold water. Departure: We ended up leaving a night early due to the logistics of everything. The icing on the cake was the elevator in the garage (which I am aware is out of the control of Hilton) was broken. Now I had to take our luggage on the main road and down the block to a second elevator to go back up to the car. I did inform the hotel of our issues and they responded rather quickly about the elevator issues. They informed me that a power outage caused the elevators to stop functioning but one time the elevator was "down" I noticed a maintenance man had stopped it because he was painting something in the lobby. I was also told this property used to be a different hotel and was bought by Hilton and swapped to the Hilton brand name which explains the difference in what we saw vs. what we've experienced at other properties. read more

WARNING: Think Twice Before Booking Oceanfront Hotel Virginia Beach - Our Stay Was a Major Disappointment My partner and I stayed at the Oceanfront Hotel in Virginia Beach from May 21-24, and unfortunately the customer service we experienced was unacceptable. What was most disappointing was management's response. When we raised our concerns, the manager simply stated, "Sorry about that," and told us rooms are not cleaned unless guests specifically request it. Another front desk employee, Cherry, repeated the same explanation. At no point during check-in were we clearly informed that housekeeping service required a special request. Regardless of hotel policy, guests should not have to repeatedly call, visit the front desk multiple times, wait nearly an entire day for towels and washcloths, or be made to feel as though they did something wrong for expecting basic hotel service standards. We also observed other guests downstairs voicing similar complaints during our stay. After our first night, our room was never cleaned. By approximately 1:00 PM the following day, we had already called multiple times from our room and visited the front desk several times asking when housekeeping would arrive. Hours later, we were eventually told that housekeeping had "gone home for the day." We then requested clean towels and washcloths, which also took an unreasonable amount of time despite repeated follow-ups. When housekeeping finally arrived, we were placing overflowing trash bags and dirty towels outside our room ourselves. Overall, the experience reflected poor communication, inadequate service, and a dismissive approach to legitimate guest concerns. We expected a far higher standard of hospitality and professionalism. read more

I stayed here for a night and rooms were very clean. Water from the bath smelled a little funny, but was fine (sorta like Florida water). The staff were very friendly. Parking was located across the street for $30 for unlimited in and out access. I enjoyed my stay and would come back again for a reasonable price. read more

There's a restaurant in the lobby with a singer performing outside loudly until midnight, which made the atmosphere pretty unpleasant. For $480 per night, this was really disappointing. No matter your room the view is fantastic. You can get full ocean view or city/ ocean view. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs that has a wonderful breakfast. You have to pay for parking and the garage is attached to the hotel via people bridge. The staff were friendly and made sure the room was cleaned. The ocean is right outside so how can you complain. I stayed here July 3-6. The staff is fantastic and will attend to your needs promptly, but you will need to reach out to them often. I had to request service on the A/C unit 3 times. Each time they responded quickly but I shouldn't have to reach out 3 times. The valet service was completely overwhelmed. I felt sorry for them. Only 2 of the 3 elevators worked which meant extremely long waits. Again, the staff was great but I definitely would not stay at this hotel again for the price I paid. read more

Definitely a Hilton that needs to take better responsibility for their defective equipment and their guest. We spent not one but two of our two nights without a working AC. I'm not sure how most people spend their beach trips but we usually only need a comfortable room when we are ready to call it a night and sleep. We did not get that. On the first night we arrive and notice the room was a little warm. The thermostat was reading 72 and the temps outside were 91. I didn't think too much of it and left for the evening only to return to a room that was 75 degrees. It's 11:30pm and clearly nothing I can do at this point. So we rough it for the night getting little to no sleep. I head down to the front desk at 6:50 and tell the guy at the desk what's going on. He states he will have someone come fix it when they get to work. The family and I head to breakfast at 7:30 and return to the room just a little before 9am and now it's 79 degrees in the room. So I call the front desk and they advise me that no work order had been placed and that they will have someone come take a look. 30 mins or so a maintenance guy comes. He takes a visual glance over, no hands on and goes well it looks ok "it's not frozen over". He heads over to the thermostat and pushes a few buttons and it fires up. So at this point I'm grateful and we are now able to enjoy a comfortable room during down time. So we thought. We later return to the room after a day of fun in the hot sun and the room reads 71. Not bad right. Been set to 70 all day so it's clear something was working. Leave again for the evening and return to a stuffy warm room again. Not as bad as the night before but not great. Middle of the night I check out the thermostat because it's hot again and I'm sleeping in sweat and it's reading 76. 76 in the room and like 78 outside. I would have been better off sleeping on the balcony with a breeze. I advise them in the morning of the issues again and they offer to comp the room. They said they couldn't do it right away due to being booked on a 3rd party site but they would handle it. I paid $917.22 for TWO nights and they sent me $307. So I get TWO miserable days/nights in the room and their solution is to return less than half. it's like going to target with two shirts you ordered online that came ripped up and they say oh how awful, we know this was not your fault in any way but we will only cover one of the returns, you are just stuck with the other and also its being a pro rated amount because you did have the shirts at your house for a small period of time. So yeah, that's my stay in a premium hotel in which I stay in Hiltons, Hyatts and other quality resorts all over the world and I have never had a complaint to be honest. If I did it was mild and fixed. The solution center here just simply doesn't take responsibility for their lack of service and discards the fact that these people paid the premium amount for a below sub standard conditions. read more

This is a very poorly run hotel. The elevators take forever so lines build up. The parking is a catastrophe. The beds are all doubles and are in terrible condition. The sinks clogged up. I usually love Hilton hotels but this is not your usual Hilton. I came for a meeting and experienced a hotel that seems to cater to the party crowd. The club will keep you up until 2 am if you are in the higher floors and the staff don't do anything to help but throw points at you. Our neighbors the first night were incredibly loud but we never said anything, they were obviously partying. Not as clean and also elevators are a bit of a mess to get during the day. So if you want to party and are of that age I guess this is the hotel. If you actually want to enjoy the beach sleep and not stay up until 2am then I would not recommend. Definitely do not recommend if you have kids.....I will make sure to stay at another hotel next year since no one seems to care, they sent a text asking me how my experience was they when I said not good said they didn't have staff to respond. We called to and were told basically that we had to deal with the club and they couldn't do anything for us. So I just got up after yes 4 hours of sleep for a meeting. I liked the location of this hotel, located between 30th and 31st street located across a huge parking garage where self-parking is $15 with in and out privileges for hotel guests. There are many restaurants within walking distance. For Hilton Diamond members, they do provide a daily F&B $15 credit ($30 if you have another guest name in the reservation), plus this is like the only Hilton hotel that has an executive club where breakfast, drinks and evening snacks are provided. The executive club attendants were so awesome. This IMO makes this the Hilton hotel to stay at in VA beach. For the beach, the hotel provides towels at the concierge desk and provides two beach chairs (need to tell the beach rental people your room number). The pools on the 21st floor was a lot of fun especially with the Sky Bar. Our room was cleaned daily and have no complaints about the room. I just wish they had two queen size beds instead of the two double beds. Catch 31 is a nice hotel restaurant but drinks can be pricey. We walked over to Murphy's Irish Bar which is couple blocks away for drinks. Now some of the cons: - Elevators! - these have to be the slowest elevators. They only have three elevators, and one was out of order. We were on the 17th floor and decided to take the stairs instead of waiting 15-30 minutes for an elevator. Be prepared to wait a long time during peak hours. - Noise - You will hear the roar of the jets quite frequently during the day. Neptune Park is right next to the hotel, they have concerts from 6 PM - 10 PM on most days so be prepared to hear the loud music. Because of the Executive Lounge, this will be my hotel of choice in VA Beach. read more

A solid 4 star rating in my opinion. Can't beat the location oceanfront and so much ample parking in the garage ($15 a day with in and out privileges). For the beach, the concierge desk has beach towels for you to use and you also get two beach chairs at the beach! Just tell tell the beach rental folks your room number and they will provide two chairs at no cost! We really enjoyed the Skye Bar at the rooftop. Oh and the two pools too. Lots of pool towels too. Catch 31 dinner was alright, good crab cake with lots of lump crab meat. Bar closes at 1:30am every night and they also have a late night food menu after 11pm. The staff at the club lounge were the best! I was so surprised they have a lounge here and it saved our families so much $ on breakfast and bottled waters and Pepsi products. Evening apps was good too. Thanks again to the staff here! Thus made our stay and for Diamonds, it's complimentary (breakfast at the Catch 31 food credit wont apply for Diamonds). The room itself was fine, even though we had some issues like the tub drain being really slow and the safe was locked from previous guest (quick call to their engineering got that solved right away). Now our room blackout drapes didn't close all the way and used my towel clips to get the room dark. Would recommend this hotel for a good beach vacation! read more

My friend and I booked a quick two night stay here for a last minute get away. I was nervous AF based on the reviews but we literally had no issues except maybe my room not being ready on time, but hers was so we just dropped our stuff in there and mine was ready at 4:30. The pool area was smaller than I'd expected but we had no problem getting loungers. Drinks were also priced cheaper than I expected. We did not experience any elevator issues during our stay and were on the 17th floor. I did have a problem w the shower not draining in my room so I texted the front desk as we were leaving for dinner and by the time we were back it was fixed. Speaking of showers- first time I've had decent shower pressure at a Hilton brand in a while so that was nice. I was also able to snag a corner room w a partial beach view and more space so yay! Valet parking was a breeze. The area is also very central with lots of restaurants within walking distance and a Starbucks a block away. I will note that I only paid about $200 a night through my friend's discount but I can't think of anything that was so bad that my thought process was "well at least it was really cheap." Needs paint, repair and attention - especially for the price. We had concierge lounge access with the free breakfast. not bad for being free, and the employees working the area were very accommodating and nice. We received some points at check in. First, the caveat that I visited in December, during the offseason. Things may be different if you go at peak tourist season. This is an excellent hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, gorgeous views. Even my room, which wasn't advertised as partial ocean view, did in fact have an ocean view through one of the windows. That was a nice surprise. I had a corner room, that may be why. Executive lounge was open, offerings were decent, but not as good as downstairs at the restaurant. Perhaps to be expected though. Speaking of restaurant, breakfast buffet was amazing, with made to order omlettes and more, and the strawberry shortcake dessert was so good too. I had no problem with the elevators, the longest I had to wait was a couple minutes and usually much less. But one elevator didn't go to the club floors so we had to send it away if it was there so one of the others would come. That was annoying but easy to solve. Parking in the garage was simple. There were signs threatening towing if hotel guests parked in the wrong spot, but staff said to ignore them and I wasn't towed. Va Beach City website says guests need a hang tag, but that wasn't true either. Again, I visited in the offseason, during peak tourist season it might be different. All in all, a good hotel, and it's eligible for the Resort Credit if you have a certain Hilton Honors card. I might not have paid to spend a summer vacation here, especially as I hate beaches, but it was an enjoyable visit in the off season during my visit to the Hampton Roads area. read more

First off, if you're booking here to relax and use the hot tub--don't bother. It's advertised, but in the last 3 years of staying here, it has never once been working. My fiancé and I run a property services/construction business and rarely take time off. After months of nonstop work, we decided to treat ourselves to a relaxing night at the Hilton with two close friends. What we got instead was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. We checked in around 4 PM and were greeted at our door by a used tampon. Disgusting. We called the front desk and were told it would be handled--no one ever came. Later that night, the four of us were sitting in our room, quietly talking with low background music. Within minutes, security knocked for a "noise complaint," but even he admitted we weren't being loud. Five minutes later--eight police officers showed up at our door. We were told we were being evicted for multiple noise complaints. No warning, no real explanation. We calmly packed our things and went to the front desk to ask for a manager's card so we could follow up with corporate. The front desk employee responded sarcastically, refused to help, and told us, "you ain't gettin nothin, I kicked y'all out," while laughing. When we expressed how we felt about the situation, his response included a racially charged remark: "yeah ok you white people," followed by more escalation. As we were walking away from the desk to go back to our friends and see what they found for accommodations, both my fiancé and I were suddenly arrested--handcuffed without resistance--and spent the night in jail. We were charged with trespassing. We are Hilton Honors members and have traveled all over the country for years with Hilton. We have never had a single complaint--ever. This situation was completely unnecessary and escalated by unprofessional staff. What should have been a simple request for a business card turned into arrests and legal fees. Corporate has since backed the hotel, denied any compensation, and even supported false claims that we used racial slurs--which is COMPLETELY UNTRUE! At this point, we are pursuing legal action. If you value professionalism, safety, and basic respect, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. You never know who you're dealing with and professionalism is everything. Once this is sorted out, and the lies and unprofessionalism is confirmed via video provided to my attourney, Hilton can do what they feel they need to save face. I can tell you this is not a good look for Hilton Properties. Below is proof of the tampon and a still of the front desk employee who provoked it all. Hilton, this is who you chose to be the face of your brand and I will do what I need to do to assure it never happens again for the Safety and Security of anyone who ever decides to stay at one of your properties. read more

I booked 2 rooms for myself and Fiancé and another for our two close friends so we could have a relaxing night away from our busy work life. We are all in the hospitality and customer service industry. We have been Hilton Honor members for years staying exclusively at Hilton properties all over the country and this was the most unprofessional Rude and Racist staff we have ever encountered. First racist staff we have EVER dealt with. Making comments like oh YOU WHITE PEOPLE! Upon checking in, there was a dirty tampon outside our door which we called the front desk to have it picked up. The tampon was never picked up and yes we have timestamped photos for proof. We came back from dinner and within 10 minutes of being back we got a knock on the door for a noise complaint. We are 40 and 50 yr olds talking in a room not partying not blasting music; talking. If you speak any louder than a whisper be prepared to be greeted by 8 cops and staff to leave. Staff was Rude, Racist, and the front desk employee was laughing and pointing in our faces with the police interaction attempting to escalate the situation. We are too old for all that and chose to pack up and leave without incident. While our friends were searching for another place to stay sitting under the awning, we walked into the lobby to grab a business card so we could contact the manager and corporate the next day to speak about a refund when the frond desk staff member began with comments and throwing out the you white people comments. We were arrested for first degree trespassing while getting a business card and making arrangements to leave as asked. Not only are we without a refund, but we also had to retain an attorney . While describing the situation, the attorney knew exactly the staff member who was rude without giving a description. This Hilton is notorious for people being evicted for noise complaints. Check the reviews which I wish we had before staying here. This is the third time staying at the resort and the third time the hot tub has not worked. Always advertised, but never in working order. I contacted the manager Brooke and was refused a refund. This hotel is the armpit of Hilton's. Check out the other Hilton on the strip or just don't go to Virginia Beach. Awful horrible experience. The owner of the hotel responded to my Google review and stated they were ensuring the safety of other guests. I wish you could see us. No one could have anything to fear by us. Poorly untrained night staff people that should not be making judgments behind the front desk and have no business being behind the front desk. read more

This isn't a bad hotel, but they constantly have a broken elevator. During our stay, one was broke and I also ready reviews back to a year ago and they have had one broken at least a year. Even after Labor Day in the off season and it was a nightmare. Also our first night in room #1, we couldn't use the water because it only gave out scalding hot water. Maintenance tried to fix it twice before we had to move to room #2. That was one of the pluses. I also wish I had read before booking you pay for parking daily. Recently, my 13-year-old daughter and I were guests at the hotel, and the way we were treated by a staff member--identified only as "Mr. Neil"--was both humiliating and completely unacceptable. We were in town for the circus, something I had spent $160 on as a special first-time experience for my daughter. We were running late, and rather than being met with any understanding or professionalism, we were treated with complete disregard. I don't know what assumptions were made about us, but we were made to feel like we didn't belong--like we weren't good enough to be in your hotel. Mr. Neil's behavior was dismissive and demeaning, and at one point, he and another staff member actually laughed at us. My daughter was in tears, devastated by how we were treated. As a parent, there's nothing worse than watching your child feel embarrassed and unwelcome, especially in a place where you expected a certain standard of hospitality. I work hard for my money. I take pride in providing for my family and creating memorable moments for them when I can. I've spent a great deal on vacations and weekend trips over the years, and I've chosen Hilton many times because I've trusted the brand. But after this experience, I can honestly say I won't be returning. What happened to us wasn't just poor customer service--it was a complete failure in basic human decency. I hope that you'll look into this situation and that Mr. Neil, in particular, receives training on how to manage payment-related issues without humiliating guests. More importantly, I hope your team is reminded of how powerful kindness and empathy can be--especially when a young child is watching. We did eventually make it to the second half of the circus, thanks to a much humbler hotel nearby whose staff treated us with genuine warmth. I wish I could say the same for Hilton. The pictures are a accurate representation of the hotel. It was clean and the beds very comfortable! We opted to lay off electronics and just listen to the waves crashing (great sleep aide), the balcony was a major plus. The hotel offers everything you need in plus tons of restaurants, bars etc in the immediate area. read more

The only issue I faced was that it smelled like sewage in the lobby but I doubt that it was there fault. The hotel was very clean. There was a Polar Plunge that had just ended, inshallah, and the people were clearing away. Why someone would do that is beyond me but good for you. I was in an oceanfront room, 1211, and it was so nice. I don't know why but the shower really stood out for me since it was quite large and it was a cold day so it just seemed right. There are three elevators and I made it to my room in no time, i am not sure why everyone else is in a tizzy about the elevators, they were fine for me. The room was large and smelled clean. What more can you ask for! The breakfast buffet was excellent. i was there in the off season but it was fresh and tasty. I don't think it was too expensive either, you did have to walk outside to get there but maybe there is an indoor way. The parking wasn't bad, I just parked in the deck and walked over. No towing. Check in took a little longer than expected, and we were disappointed with the room. It's a general size room with two very small and uncomfortable "queen" size beds. The views were spectacular and the staff was lovely but we left a day early because we could not have a good night's rest in those beds. I recommend staying far from the elevators. Ocean view rooms are 100% worth it. read more

For the money we paid which was a lot,the room was cramped, 2 double beds and a tub that had a bunch of sand in it. Our daughter-in-law cleaned the bath tub so that her children could use it. The heated pool that was advertised was filmy and cold and the hot tub was over crowded with more than 15 people, including children under the age of 10. There were no clean towels available for use. Customer service was lacking big time! Not worth the money! read more

I have stayed at many, many a Hilton brand hotels for business and leisure every year. While the location of this Hilton is excellent to say the least, the room has a lot to be desired. I am used to Hiltons amazing attention to detail, but this stay is a '0'. The dresser drawer is both damaged and one drawer will not shut. Had to wedge it shut with a plastic folded container. The room had tremendous damage all about. The bathroom was a hot mess. No attention to detail and it looks like hotel maintenance needs some fundamental help in how to make repairs including the caulking job that was something from motel 8. Also there is rust on the door jambs and edges exposed, chipped paint everywhere and no attention to cleaning corners. I was totally shocked by the lack of attention to detail. This is NOT normally found in a Hilton brand hotel. In fact, I can't believe it is in this condition as their brand. Again, this is not typical of most Hiltons I stay at over the year. We were hear for a cheer competition and several of the other rooms of teammates were close to the same. Also, don't use the ice machines here. Look under the "hood" of the machines. They desperately need disinfected, cleaned and bleached. The health department may want to inspect the machines that are in desperate need of cleaning. Ice machines are notoriously a cesspool of growing organisms unless properly and routinely cleaned. Hilton needs to send in their quality control team to this location. This was not remotely even worth the $229 night. Disappointed and shocked as this location is not the norm for Hilton. read more

The Hilton Virginia Oceanfront is one of my favorite memories and time's that my husband and I have had. We've stayed there during season and off, as well as trying different types of rooms. I highly recommend the ocean and city view combo. The room service is fantastic!! The staff is always willing to help with anything you need. read more

My husband and I stayed at Hampton Inn North in Virginia Beach in October, 2024. We were very pleased with the renovations with the exception of the placement of the pool which is in the lobby in full view of the receptionist and everyone passing through the lobby. The evening staff, Julia and Rodney, helped me with a registration issue caused by the marketing company "Booksi". I commend their compassion and problem-solving skills. They saved my vacation. I sincerely advise that everyone avoid this questionable company, Booksi. I plan to share my horrible experience with Hilton directly, given that Hilton contracts with them and will never use Booksi's services again. One other drawback is that this location charges $20 nightly for parking. We have been coming to Hampton Inns in Virginia Beach for years for our family reunion and for birthday celebrations. It is unfortunate that we will probably drive further in the future to Nags Head where we've stayed in a resort with great accommodations and free parking. read more

This hotel will be a hard pass for any future visits to Virginia Beach. Other reviews mention that there is always a wait for the elevator. I failed to realize how painful this would be every time we left our room. There are 3 elevators, that are in no way synced, so it often felt like only one elevator was working (one may have been actually broken). There is very, very loud live music on the weekends (not sure about weekdays). When we were there, it started around 5-6pm and went until 10-11pm. It was loud enough that you could not have a conversation on the balcony without shouting and we also needed to really jack up the volume to hear the TV over the music. This might not be an issue for everyone, but this alone would make me not pick this hotel again. There was an issue with the AC in our room. Maintenance guy #1 comes up, pulls out the filter, and it was clear that it had likely been years since it had been changed. This did not fix the issue on the first try and we needed to have someone come up and work on it 2 more times. No one from the hotel acknowledged that there had been so many issues with our room. It feels like they may be having some management issue. We felt like we were staying at a rundown budget hotel instead of a Hilton. Very disappointing. read more

Hmmm, this is a hard one. On one hand, in comparison to its neighbors this place is a freakin' 5-star resort, but for anyone who is well-traveled, the flaws definitely show. So for a backstory, I moved to Virginia 14 years ago with my job. Moved from the Charleston, SC area--Mt Pleasant, specifically, which is a beach town. As a kid I lived in Myrtle Beach (my dad was stationed at the Air Force base) and Virginia Beach reminds me of Myrtle Beach. But it's sort of like what New Orleans is to Charleston...the seedier, more experienced sister city who deserves to be treated much better than she is...someone just needs to show her the love and care she deserves. The girl has gorgeous beaches, she just needs the tourist area to catch up. Back to the Hilton. For its location and the current state of Virginia Beach, it's the best. But if you have visited other hotels around the country and world, you will quickly see the flaws. The price is steep for the location and, while it's a newer hotel, she is showing some wear and tear. For example, we had to listen to the tub running the entire weekend because there was literally no way to turn it off. Also, the bed was like sleeping on bricks...I tossed and turned, and then ached the next day. The decor was tired. Positives...the rooftop pool and jacuzzi, and the pool bar, although the setup was weird. Let me explain...when you walk onto the rooftop area there is a 'bar' to the left and a bar to the right. After we made this mistake ourselves in walking to the left and watching every single person after us make the same mistake, we realize they are set up incorrectly. Every single person walked off the elevator and walked to the left to find the bar. When they did show up at the faux bar, the guy working there had to explain he was there to just make food. Drinks and food are all ordered at the bar to the right...kinda backward. It was kind of funny to watch group after group make the same mistake. I do think the beach is pretty and I can't figure out if it is status quo or if things are in transition and on the rise. Either way, I hope Virginia and Virginia Beach invest in cleaning things up and making it feel safer for tourist...more will come! And I hope the Hilton throws some money into this hotel...she deserves a facelift. read more
