Front desk staff did offer to clean room but we did not want them in room with our things. Very clean, no frill hotel. Front desk fine. It is older but they keep really clean and well maintained. Bathroom fan goes on with light and very loud. AC works well but loud also. Not sure if TP is special environmental, but it is just like gift wrap tissue paper, thin and stiff. Would be nice if there was a microwave. Couple outlets didn't work, but there were plenty others. There is a big tripping hazard on balcony. You have a significant step over. read more

Monday March 17th St Patrick,s day Deborah and I took a much needed get-away to Ocean Front Inn Virginia Beach at about 2:30pm and they were very respectable to us being senior ladies and disabled allowing us to go ahead when arriving to check-in to our beautiful ocean front view room 6th floor with an exciting elevator that has windows to see the surrounding views while entering or exiting our room while there. Our room had two queen sized beds, dorm sized fridge, small one cup coffee maker, cable TV. beauiful balcony with amazing beach and ocean views too watch sunrise/sunset, watch all the people walking the boardwalk, runnimg, riding bicycles. The staff were very respectable to both of us and to Deborah,s service dog Ryder that was with us as well . We enjoyed our stay so much,we actually extended our stay and extra day. The beds in the room were very, very comfortable, it was just a little bit difficult to get out of the beds it would be helpful if they were a tad shorter platforms under the mattresses. Also, being a handicapped room the tub needs to have shorter sides for the disabled to get into using the shower, also a bench would be good for inside the tub as well. read more

Flying bugs galore!! Rust throughout areas in entire room. Extra small bathroom and overall cleansliness of room is definitely questionable. Five stars for staff and location. Decent accommodations for price. Only downfalls- I could feel the springs in the mattresses, ac kept freezing and they had to come fix it - the room got above 75, the bathroom could use updates. We had just gotten to the room and noticed our bed was extrenely sandy, this was weird because we had just checked in and we did not go to the beach prior to this. So I checked visually and under the blankets and over the bed cover, there was all these distusting small hair and little stone/sand residues. As if no one had cleaned the room before our stay. So i called the front office and explained and said that the cleaning people were not available for the day and they could send a few new blankets for me. They sent this blankets and I asked the guy who delievered them if the following day a cleaning could be done and he answered pointing to the blankets: "THIS IS THE BEST WE CAN DO". I slept in my air mattress during our 2 day stay because they had no cleaning people in between days. The floor was also filled with sand, man, this is the worst stay I have had. Worst part is how they tried to hide the issue I had during my stay Considering they charge so much for a night, this us the worst place I have ever been. We booked this online so you never know what you might get. It was a pleasant surprise. Right on the beach with a fantastic view. There is no maid service due to COVID which we were not aware of until we arrived. The only downside was that the floor needed cleaning due to sand. Last night there was live music in the restaurant. Unfortunately there was a health incident with one of the band members and the waitress jumped in to assist with CPR. Hotel gets a 5 star + for having trained staff. It took quite a while for EMS to arrive. When EMS wheeled the gentleman out he was alert thanks to the help of this waitress. read more

I needed a getaway and found Oceanfront Inn had really good reviews and the price was good. Front desk clerks were kind & helpful. The view was amazing and just what I needed. I had to pay an additional $7 a day for parking which, to me, isn't cool if I've already booked a room, but whatever. I also had to park across the street. The following day I was able to grab a spot in the actual hotel lot. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean. Although I don't like the blankets that feel like felt & velvet. Ive noticed these kinds of blankets in hotels before. The Neptune Restaurant was located in the hotel but I didn't eat there. Overall, decent place, great views!! I would stay here again. read more

We wanted a hotel that was oceanfront, and Oceanfront Inn certainly delivered on that front. It was wonderful falling asleep and waking up to the ocean waves breaking on the beach. If you're not particular about cleanliness, noise levels and comfort, then this inn is fine. But for us, the cons heavily outweighed ocean wave melodies. The room did not feel clean. Our sense of uncleanliness was confirmed after finding a used Q-tip and some kind of wrapper on the bathroom floor. There was black mold on the ceiling in the shower, no fan and the tub floor creaked as though it was ready to break through. The beds weren't too bad. We weren't uncomfortable in them. But the air conditioning was really loud. My husband turned it off and then once the heat became unbearable, we could not figure out how to get it going again. So that made sleep broken and restless. Noise levels were high. From the band playing outside until at least 11 pm and fellow guests yelling and talking at loud volumes until 1 am, it was ridiculous. Tried calling front desk twice to get them to quiet them down, but got voicemail each time. No point in leaving a message. If you arrived too late at night, you were unlikely to get a parking spot in the hotel parking lot. You had to go park in their garage across the street. Not terrible but the stairwell was trashed and disgusting. Did not have much interaction with the staff but had very pleasant staff when checking in and checking out. This hotel was not cheap and am glad we stayed no more than a few nights. Will not stay here again. read more

This hotel has zero customer service. In my attempt to get returned an item that I left at the hotel they have consistently refused to help me. The last time I spoke to them, which was the fourth time in this attempt to locate this credit card they hung up on me. Pros: It's a semi clean place to sleep. No bugs that I seen. 3 functional elevators. All staff encountered were friendly. Good customer service. Oceanfront Pool Prompt service when requested ie: extra towels brought to the room. Cons: Our first room was dirty upon arrival. There was urine on the toilet seat. After I cleaned the toilet seat and under the toilet seat, I found urine at the base of the toilet by the feet on both sides. The decor was very dated and everything was dusty and dirty looking in our first room. We requested and received a new room, the second was slightly better. There is no carpet in the rooms which wouldn't be a bad thing if house keeping would sweep the rooms and wet mop them. The heater/air conditioner is right next to the bed. Typically it is on the side of the room with the window/balcony, but these are not. Bathrooms are tiny. Water temperature while getting a shower fluctuates between very hot and very cold. Ac unit was so loud in the first room it woke us up as it sounded like someone was in the room only it was just the ac. Arrived to a room that was open to anyone to walk in night time front desk could careless. Room card keys randomly stop working and heard other guests making the same complaint. I unfortunately don't even know where to begin with this. :( and I'll start by saying I am normally not so judgmental, but golllllyyy when I have safety and health concerns I'll spit everything. The man at the front desk was SUPER nice at check in. Got us checked into our room... the key didn't work, went back downstairs to get new keys... still didn't work. Maintenance came up, opened the door and even corrected the AC for us. That's about the only good thing there. Lots of rowdy folks around, quiet time and non-smoking restrictions not enforced. There was a yelling match in front of my door at 1am. Next door neighbors smoking marijuana on the balcony and peeking over to our balcony. Guy downstairs yelling at people on the boardwalk. Hotel in a whole needs renovations. Beds super hard. Thin sheets. Orange smear/staining in the bathtub. Then an unsolicited wake up call at 915 to say that maintenance was coming on up. What?! Needless to say, I contacted Hotels.com to ask for a refund on the 2nd night and found a different room. Thankfully, this establishment did waive the penalty. We came to Virginia Beach for our anniversary. We wanted something a bit more intimate and locally owned. Like you we came to yelp for some guidance. We ended up booked the hotel through booking.com due to an awesome deal for a quick weekend getaway. Right as we arrived at the hotel we knew we were going to have a different experience then going to a chained hotel. The front desk staff was very sweet and upon arrival gave us a gift basket of local wine, chocolates, lotions, and soaps very nicely presented in a basket. The standard room was average size. But comes with a fridge. The bathroom was tiny but was perfected for getting what u needed done in there. The room was older but you can tell they are slowly upgrading the current furniture pieces. The balcony view was amazing! We enjoyed relaxing with a few cocktails at night and just waking up to the waves in the morning. I give them a 3star because they put us on the top floor with an awesome view. But the only down side was it was two full size beds instead of a king like we had requested. Also. they have very limited parking in front of the hotel. If none is available when you arrive you have to park across the street in the lots or the parking garage which we're dimly lit, no security, and a bit sketchy at night. Also they don't serve free breakfast. Neptune's is attached in the lobby but they don't give you any special offers. I would recommend this spot if your looking for a relaxing getaway on a budget. We got the full experience of Virginia Beach without breaking the bank. While also helping out an individually owned property verse all the other chain hotels on the strip. It was perfect. read more

Looked like a nice hotel online but my pictures say otherwise. Came back from dinner from Watermans and opened our door and watched roaches scatter across the floor. These are just a few pictures I was able to capture. Went to the front desk with the pictures and they did not seem bothered at all. Just offered us to move to a different room. Only moved because we were unable to find another hotel close by. The second room we didn't see anything but I'm sure they are in this one too. Very unprofessional and absolutely disgusting to say the least. Do not stay at this hotel. The indoor pool is also disgusting and not well maintained. Stay away from this hotel and make sure no loved ones or friends stay here. read more

My husband and I stayed here one night. Thank goodness that we did . I thought this place was pretty decent looking when I found it on goggle but I should had looked at yelp first. We arrived at the hotel & said okay this looks nice. Went upstairs and you get this errey feeling , the halls look like something that could be at a college dorm . The inside of the room isn't bad but definitely needs some updating . The bed are so uncomfortable. The view is beautiful but only if you want to look at the homeless people walking up and down the boardwalk asking people for money . I found myself needing a place to stay in VA Beach for the Rock N Roll Marathon this year. A lot of the hotels had a two night minimum, this place did not - score. My first impression when I pulled into the parking lot/ front entrance wasn't a great one, there was a security guard telling me the lot was full (meh- Labor Day weekend) and I can only park in front of the hotel to check in. The front desk was super busy, I think people didn't have plans so there were a lot of people in line wanting rooms. After waiting in the line, I came out to get my stuff and the security guard told me to "hurry up." Now, since I was traveling by myself - I had no issue and unloaded my one running bag-got to my room and came back to move my car - If you had a whole family with you (small children, etc... this probably would have ticked me off). Anyways, since the lot was full I was directed to a really dated parking garage across the street. Managed to get one of the last spots in there (without dying) and I told myself I wasn't going to move my car unless I really had to. My oceanfront room was on the 2nd floor and located above the restaurant that was in the building. No worries... It was super quiet below.... you could actually hear more people on the boardwalk than in the restaurant. The room was clean and had the usual amenities. Fridge, ironing board, iron, etc. It was a double room with two beds and there was even room enough for a small table with two chairs. A/C was a wall unit and worked quite well - since I mistakenly left it on too low and woke up shivering a couple times. Overall my stay was not bad considering the Labor Day weekend. Hotel staff was friendly and even gave me a "late" checkout (noon instead of 11) which helped me finish my race and then take my time to walk back to the hotel to get cleaned up. read more

I stayed here once in 2014 and then accidentally stayed here again not realizing it was the same hotel. I can't say enough good things about this hotel the staff. They go above and beyond to accommodate your every wish & need and the rooms are spectacular and clean and the location is amazing. It is my favorite place to stay on Virginia Beach and I look forward to staying here many more times in the future. The only negative point on this hotel is the elevators. The elevators are very very slow and you end up having to wait an extraordinary amount of time for an elevator but other than that this is the best place to stay. read more

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were very good in size and very clean.They have an inside pool. Which always had a ton of kids in. Restaurant and bar was good . We had breakfast and dinner and it was very good. The location of hotel was also in the heart of everything. The only thing I would have to say is that the staff aren't the friendliest. I went for a solo getaway over the long weekend. I got a great off-season rate. All rooms are oceanfront, and offer wonderful views of the ocean & boardwalk. The staff I encountered were great; very friendly & helpful. There's an indoor pool. I didn't use it, but it appeared some kids were having fun. There was usual hotel noise, but nothing out of the ordinary. The balconies are private, meaning your neighbor cannot see you. The room had 2 beds, fridge, & coffee maker. A microwave would have been a nice addition, but not a deal breaker. The ceiling in the bathroom was quite low, but it was clean, and well stocked with towels. I only visited the onsite restaurant once. It was pricey. I only ordered an appetizer & a drink from the bar. The server was nice, but the place was empty, so listening to other staff near the bar complain & make fun of the drink I ordered was a bit annoying. But, there are many restaurants & bars within walking distance. Overall, I had an amazing & relaxing weekend away. I will be staying here again. read more

My husband and I came here for my babymoon before we were to have our second child. This hotel was very accommodating. The price was amazing. The location was even more amazing. We enjoyed everything about it the pool the restaurant it's a location. Any time we come back to Virginia Beach we will definitely be staying at this hotel. We stayed here for $49/night in late October. SUPER IMPRESSED! Why are they competing with the Hilton next door, who charge over $250/night for off season? Oceanfront's rooms were very nice, clean, and have a huge balcony overlooking the boardwalk and ocean. Free wi-fi and cable are included. Rooms have 2 double beds that are comfy, but not home. I don't know many hotels that compare to home, though. Super friendly staff. Microwave, fridge, and coffee maker are standard per room. Overall very impressed. Because of these super affordable rooms, we plan to visit VA Beach more often now. read more

Clean, decent price and great location- right on the boardwalk, each room faces the water unlike many other hotels nearby. Nice heated pool. Restaurant onsite had great breakfast. All the employees at the hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful. We stayed at the Oceanfront Inn last month for our anniversary and got a cut-rate deal on a room; I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. I don't think I'll be doing that again. We arrived around 9 for a check in after dinner. There was no parking directly outside the hotel, but I was told at reception that we could park across the street. Plenty of parking there and we weren't charged extra for it, so that's a plus. The outside of the hotel is attractive in a plain sort of way. The lobby is welcoming and clean. The staff was quite friendly. We had a second floor room; as with every room, it faces the ocean. The room and the bathroom were clean, but the furniture was cheaply made and not in very good condition--it was made of fake pressed wood and there were a lot of splintered areas, plus the edges appeared worn. This made me feel a little skeptical of the hotel itself, but I know they can't constantly replace furniture. The beds were okay but they were kind of short--my husband's feet dangled over the edge. He's six feet tall. If you're over 5'9", you may want to try to get a room with a king sized bed. Heater and AC both worked well and blocked out the noises in the hallway and next door. I would not recommend this hotel for a romantic evening. It would probably be okay if you were looking for a budget place to take the family for a beach vacation, even though I can't imagine paying full price for it in the summer time. read more

This hotel is clean and neat. It is right on the boardwalk and close to good activities and restaurants. But it shines the most in its staff. Clinton greets everyone as if they were great friends coming home. It is a very welcoming feeling. Other staff from the rest of the front desk staff, housekeepers and maintenance staff never fail to greet guests. It is highly recommended. read more

A ghetto, pure and simple. Hallways and lobby stinks, the room is overpowering with Clorox. There is a 2" gap underneath the door that allows the flies into the room with no AC controls. The staff seems completely lost. This place isn't worth it at any cost and certainly not if you are trying to have a nice vacation. Not sure if anyone giving this place more than 1 or 2 stars have ever stayed anywhere 3 stars and up. This place is one of the worst hotels this Pacific Ocean sailor has ever seen. read more

Came here 4 years in a row and LOVE it!! We normally stay 2 to 3 nights here, and pay under $250 a night for June or July weekends. All the rooms are ocean-front with a balcony and great views. Rooms are clean and spacious. The price is very reasonable compared to the competing hotels next door to them. Location is great! Near the nicer and upscale shops in VA beach. Near the Hilton and the Neptune's park area for the kids to run around in. Location, location, location!!! Near Starbucks and Duck Doughnuts too! The staff is friendly and the parking is free. They have a large garage across the street if the front parking area is too crowded. The boardwalk is directly in front of your room. They have an indoor, heated pool that closes at 10 pm. I didn't use it, but it looked like a reasonable size. This is my 4th year back at this hotel and I plan to return for all future family vacations. The only small complaint I have about the rooms is I wish they had a microwave in there. It would make it more family-friendly to include that. However, they do have a mini-fridge. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was fairly clean, and the view from our balcony was just incredible. I wish there had been a proper coffee machine in the room (something that makes more than one cup at a time). Also, this is the first hotel room I've stayed in in a long time that didn't have a microwave. The cleaning people did a pretty bad job of making the bed....and if you stay here in the winter definitely bring a blanket - the heater worked fine in our room but the "comforter" was as thin as a towel. Everyone was so nice! Michael was absolutely amazing and helpful, he made my family feel welcomed right away. The rooms were great! We paid around 115 per night and got the most perfect view of the beach. Beds were very comfortable and housekeeping was very polite. Elevators were a little shakey but they had a glass one which was cool. Printer to use was awesome to print plane tickets. Overall staying here made our vacation 10x better. read more

We were enjoying our vacation until I found a bed bud on my daughter's bed the morning of check out! I killed it and immediately took it to the front desk. I rented 2 rooms for 2 nights. I went back up stairs and bagged everything I owned in trashbags. The front desk worker said the owner wouldn't be back until the following week and the manager was at a therapy visit. When I checked out She only refunded me for one room because the bugs were only found in one room. I disagreed and she told me I would have to wait on them to call me for a refund for the other room. I had to call and email numerous times before getting a refund for the other room.I am very upset as to how the hotel handled this situation. I will not return to this Hotel as I am at Home with everything I own on my back porch trying to sort and wash and spray my luggage with a pesticide! My wife and I stayed here a couple nights to celebrate my retirement from the U.S. Army, late October, 2016. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the beach, even though it was on the bottom floor. The lobby is slightly lower than the bottom row of rooms, all of which face the Atlantic Ocean. I'm docking this hotel one star because scaffolding and tools with yellow caution tape around them created an eyesore right below our balcony. It should be noted, however, that late October is off season, which is when they would understandably wash their windows and maintain their building. read more
