What appears to be spit or soap scum underneath faucet in the bathroom.

Great location, convenient for beach goers. Indoor pool pretty decent. Literally a few steps away from the beach. NO MICROWAVE as advertised but WHY NOT? Slow elevators, majority pleasant staff members, Old looking decor throughout the hotel and in each room. Extremely tight parking spaces. Suspended housekeeping for COVID seems like an oxymoron. Flying bugs galore!! Rust throughout areas in entire room. Extra small bathroom and overall cleansliness of room is definitely questionable. Oceanfront room with balcony is accurate but not what was expected. Pictures are misleading. For our next visit, we will attempt to stay at another hotel with an ocean view.

There was all these distusting small hair and stone/sand residues in the bed. Check my review for more details.

We had just gotten to the room and noticed our bed was extrenely sandy, this was weird because we had just checked in and we did not go to the beach prior to this. So I checked visually and under the blankets and over the bed cover, there was all these distusting small hair and little stone/sand residues. As if no one had cleaned the room before our stay. So i called the front office and explained and said that the cleaning people were not available for the day and they could send a few new blankets for me. They sent this blankets and I asked the guy who delievered them if the following day a cleaning could be done and he answered pointing to the blankets: "THIS IS THE BEST WE CAN DO". I slept in my air mattress during our 2 day stay because they had no cleaning people in between days. The floor was also filled with sand, man, this is the worst stay I have had. Worst part is how they tried to hide the issue I had during my stay Considering they charge so much for a night, this us the worst place I have ever been. Dont go to this place, after you pay, they dont care about customer service

We booked this online so you never know what you might get. It was a pleasant surprise. Right on the beach with a fantastic view. There is no maid service due to COVID which we were not aware of until we arrived. The only downside was that the floor needed cleaning due to sand. Last night there was live music in the restaurant. Unfortunately there was a health incident with one of the band members and the waitress jumped in to assist with CPR. Hotel gets a 5 star + for having trained staff. It took quite a while for EMS to arrive. When EMS wheeled the gentleman out he was alert thanks to the help of this waitress.

I needed a getaway and found Oceanfront Inn had really good reviews and the price was good. Front desk clerks were kind & helpful. The view was amazing and just what I needed. I had to pay an additional $7 a day for parking which, to me, isn't cool if I've already booked a room, but whatever. I also had to park across the street. The following day I was able to grab a spot in the actual hotel lot. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean. Although I don't like the blankets that feel like felt & velvet. Ive noticed these kinds of blankets in hotels before. The Neptune Restaurant was located in the hotel but I didn't eat there. Overall, decent place, great views!! I would stay here again.

We came to Virginia Beach for our anniversary. We wanted something a bit more intimate and locally owned. Like you we came to yelp for some guidance. We ended up booked the hotel through booking.com due to an awesome deal for a quick weekend getaway. Right as we arrived at the hotel we knew we were going to have a different experience then going to a chained hotel. The front desk staff was very sweet and upon arrival gave us a gift basket of local wine, chocolates, lotions, and soaps very nicely presented in a basket. The standard room was average size. But comes with a fridge. The bathroom was tiny but was perfected for getting what u needed done in there. The room was older but you can tell they are slowly upgrading the current furniture pieces. The balcony view was amazing! We enjoyed relaxing with a few cocktails at night and just waking up to the waves in the morning. I give them a 3star because they put us on the top floor with an awesome view. But the only down side was it was two full size beds instead of a king like we had requested. Also. they have very limited parking in front of the hotel. If none is available when you arrive you have to park across the street in the lots or the parking garage which we're dimly lit, no security, and a bit sketchy at night. Also they don't serve free breakfast. Neptune's is attached in the lobby but they don't give you any special offers. I would recommend this spot if your looking for a relaxing getaway on a budget. We got the full experience of Virginia Beach without breaking the bank. While also helping out an individually owned property verse all the other chain hotels on the strip. It was perfect.

I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

The hotel is nice! That was not the issue. The hotel amenities were just small. The pool was super small and with the amount of kids there it was almost like a kids school function or daycare. Then the dogs....I love cute little doggies. But traveling with your animal to vacay is weird to me. It's also gross to smell dog when you get in your room or in the halls. There were so many doggies on vacation with their owners and they'd leave them in the room while they ventured. It was odd. Walking to our room we got barked at, then like a domino effect, the entire doggie day care hall was barking to each other. The view was great! Beds were eh, but I learned that Va Beach is not where you go for a real princess vacay getaway. The room rate was 500$ a night for an ocean view. Now, I have no problem spending that on a room but if you're going to spend that amount per night might as well go somewhere nicer, with better beaches (blue ones), and a real resort. The view is nice but for the price, no. Not after being all over the world this summer at places much nicer and just as expensive, his money could go elsewhere. This past weekend, Aug 14-17, we learned that room rate sky rocket for a last minute getaway and likely were just as high even if we booked earlier. Wouldn't do book last minute ever again and likely would never come back to Va Beach. Staff were friendly. Cute hotel just way too many kids and pets. Plus beds were okay but not the fluffy beds at other Marriott locations.

Staying here you do have some perks they give you a complementary drink voucher for you to use during your day and it's for each day for you to get two drinks during happy hour which is from 4 to 6pm and snacks are included with that. Breakfast was well served and well prepared. They had every section to breakfast classic foods as well as if you want it it's more of like quick and simple like cereal, bread, toast, and then they have their own station of omelette where they had a chef that would prepare it based off of what you requested. The layout is very nice. I love how they gave us wristbands instead of a key card for our rooms and to use the elevator. It's very secure as well as being able to not have to carry around a hotel key to get in and out of your room as well as any other areas where it has access to it. The vibe itself for the hotel it definitely gives you like a vacation outside of your classic beach vibe because you have pools. You have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and a restaurants. this right there called tacos and tequila. They are currently opened but I we'll highly recommend getting there during their non-peak hours, and their food is amazing. Their Baja fish taco is my favorite to get from there. They also give you the option for parking valet parking as well as parking pass, which is the overnight rate which is $25 an hour and you can go in and out of a parking lot. That's another thing I did like about that general area where the other hotels including this one is that they have a parking garage where you're not obligated to have to to get another ticket or get charged extra for going out if you needed to so I didn't think that's a good perk for me by that wants to stay and have a staycation but still has to do some type of things throughout the day. I would highly recommend going to these hotels. The room service from the restaurant option is the restaurant where you get the complementary drinks from and they are operating throughout the night even later hours and I do find that very convenient for people that like to go out like Myself and wanna have like a nice good bite or even dinner our late night dinner I got their salmon which was really good. This location is definitely a hidden gem You're kinda in your own oasis away from home, but you're in Virginia Beach because they have it set up where it's essentially like you're on a private island and you just have like the view point of the beach and they offered other enemies, including beach, chairs, umbrellas, and stuff with your say so that's also a good thing for people that want to just get away for a little bit but wanna stay in Virginia Beach so I highly recommend staying here as an option if you're looking for something that has a little bit of everything and you have nearby access to other things like the other restaurants that are in that same area.

Even though it was a quick trip, everyone felt truly recharged thanks to all the little conveniences included in our stay. Located on the Cavalier resort property, we took full advantage of the beachfront access. It was so nice to wake up and just walk out to the beach for some vitamin sea and then when it got too hot, hang out in the pool. My daughter's loved the little water loungers and spent at least an hour, pretending they were seals slipping and sliding away on an iceburg. They also had cute little activities like mermaid and pirate meet and greets that my littlest one enjoyed. Having Tacos and Tequila right next door made a quick and delicious pool lunch and the kiddos (especially my oldest) was obsessed with the made-to-order breakfast that was included in our stay. Our room was very clean and we loved having the separate living room /dining space to spread out. 95% of the staff we interacted with was exceptional. We'd definitely come again.

I never thought I was the kind of person who cared about oceanfront rooms, as long as the room is close to the beach. But I think I've changed my mind. I really enjoyed eating meals watching the waves, and I was able to let my kids go to the beach while I sat in the room because I could see them from our room and they didn't have to cross any streets to get there. Also the breakfast was awesome! We immediately gravitated to the diy waffles with vanilla and red velvet options, and lots of toppings like chocolate chips and chocolate syrup. But I was impressed by the healthy options too like oranges, bananas, apples and canned fruit. There were great warm options too like scrambled eggs with salsa and shredded cheese, sausage and diced potatoes. The only things to mention are: -Parking is $20 a night. -There is an indoor pool but not an outdoor pool. -Good luck surviving the restaurant on the first floor, with its daily temptation to order from the reasonably priced happy hour menu (orange crushes for $5!). :)

I personally just hate cigarette smoke. -The interior is very dated (although you can tell there are elements in the room that were updated) -The elevator takes, literally, forever. The housekeeping staff does a meticulous job cleaning each room after the guests leaves. Throughout our nearly 6 months stay, Jerome and Herbert in particular have really gone out of their way to keep our stay here feel like home. For example, when our A/C unit failed in the middle of murky summer, Jerome replaced the entire unit right away. I have also had trouble handling the incredible humidity I've not experienced since leaving Japan. But thank goodness for Jerome again --he ensured I had a really good dehumidifier that also helped muffle noises as well. I cannot emphasize enough on what a truly instrumental role he had played in keeping my whole family feel comfortable. I find that especially noteworthy because we were there for quite awhile. The Lodge location is steps away from the Dam Neck Naval Base Beach and the sunrise is beautiful. It also has a kitchenette that is fully functional to cook a good meal unless you need an oven. The fridge is big enough to put in whatever you need and the stove is easy to cleanup. The cabinets are stuffed with everything you'd find in a kitchen. Cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, wine openers, wine glass, dish rack, soap and sponge. You name it, they have it. And this is what really makes the stay better than being over at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) if you are here for awhile-- especially if you are like me and prefer to cook your own meals, staying at the Lodge is a MUST. And if you have pets, the Lodge is also AN ABSOLUTE must. One of the great things about Navy Lodge Oceana is how pet friendly it is. Our two beagles loved the area and there are 3 receptacles on-site to keep doggie poo thrown out. Keep in mind that it is a high tick and flea area so ensuring they get brushed after a walk is a must! Well, not unless you like to shriek like me when I found two ticks on my laptop thanks to my dog ubering them inside. And just for the record, both dogs also take Nexgard and Heartgard monthly. Now the NGIS might work beautifully for those who are in the Dam Neck /Oceana area for short term stay, or ok with eating takeouts every day because you don't cook, and /or doesn't have pets. Or that they'd prefer the nicer furniture or less noise to deal with. I've stayed at both and NGIS is far easier to make reservations for leisure and their beds are very comfortable. In sum, I had a fantastic stay and I look forward to returning every chances I get. For $75/night, the rates are exceptional and the location is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to everyone. -- Cons: Elevator--The building has no elevator. So if you have loads of luggages, you will need to take it to your room upstairs using the staircase. Reservation --Making reservation here can be pretty easy if you are staying because of TAD/TDA/PCS orders. For leisure traveling, you'd have better luck at the NGIS or other nearby civilian operated hotels. The leisure travel can be only made 7 days ahead of the stay. And chances are, you are 99% likely to be told they have nothing for vacancies, or they have something for just 1 day out of a 7 day trip or something very inconvenient. WiFi--The WiFi here can be spotty, nonexistent, or extremely slow. If there's someone playing video games in the evening, you can tell right away and you have a bad night ahead of you if you need the Internet. It'd be far less frustrating to get Internet connection elsewhere. Also, the cellphone data connection here is also rather lousy. So no, using data won't help with watching YouTube or something else. If you need to make a call, you'd also have better luck by going outside. You'll see bunches of other sailors or marines pacing and walking around sometimes for the same reason. Noise level--You can hear just about everything from your surroundings. Toilet flushing, heart stopping door slams, other dogs barking all day, people's conversations and/or TV sounds all hours of day, jets, gunshots from the swamp side, housekeepers cleaning , anything in the hallway, etc. Privacy Please sign on the door doesn't mean much either. So if your next door guest has his alarm go off at 0500 and well into 0800, nobody can or will do anything about it. Well, not unless Herbert is working in the morning. He was the only person who was willing to intervene after multiple other lobby staff refused to help. Try imagining the alarms making a loud incessant beeping the entire time behind your headboard at 0500 on a Sunday for 3+ hours while the other guest somehow sleep through it or not even be there over the weekend! My point is, if you are sensitive to noise stimuli, or dislike wearing ear plugs, I don't recommend staying here.
