Excellent Indian food hidden in Stratford in this restaurant that has been around for decades! Excellent service, excellent food, excellent ambiance. Classics like butter chicken, tandoori chicken (on the bone) and naan were some of the best I've ever had. And the prices are good too (for London.) My only advice is to order extra rice unless you're on a low carb diet. The servings of rice are a little smaller than I'm used to in the US. Seek out this place if you love Indian food. read more

I love my Indian food, and back home in the states, I try and get to my favorite spots a couple times a month. Well this place is as good or better than any Indian restaurant I've been to! I checked Yelp for a restaurant near my hotel, and this one was rated high enough to make me want to go give it a try. The reviews were spot on! I had the lamb vindaloo--hot, just the way I like it. It was fantastic! It also is nice that the naan comes out piping hot and fresh. I hope to get back here again before I leave in the next couple days. Outstanding. Was a little hesitant going in because I've never eaten this type of food before. Came away a fan of Indian/Pakistani cuisine. The menu was immense but gave the beginner good guidance. Service was great. Clean and a little loud but so what. Food was awesome! The only knock might be a limited beer selection. Go if in this neck of the woods and you want non pub food. read more

A great little place this - having sampled all of Indian restaurants in Stratford, this place serves the most richly cooked food and has the most attentive staff. A really pleasant experience, and relatively inexpensive - given the number of restaurants available in Stratford I wouldn't say that it ever gets particularly busy - it certainly hasn't been on any of my visits. A superb traditional Indian restaurant! It's the little things that count and this restaurant meets expectations. Greeting you at the door and offering to take your coats makes you feel like a valued customer. Customer service is a real highlight in this restaurant. This restaurant serves a good selection of Indian food. It is nicely decorated with an intimate atmosphere. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked to order including the breads. I hate it when it is obvious that the bread has been cooked earlier then re-heated. Their vegetable korma is to die for! It is a good idea to book a table as it gets very busy. The staff are helpful and give good advice if you are not sure on what to have. read more

They deliver, as I don't live too far away and their attentiveness is second to none. Their food is never less than delicious. Tried to order food through hungry house. The guy who answered the phone when our order wasn't delivered for over 1hr 15mins was unbelievably rude (considering we order regularly from there, enough to receive a christmas card from them!) and said we shouldn't have ordered through hungry house if we had a problem. So we are without food and without an order as he put down the phone. Will NEVER go back there regardless of the great service we have received in the past. read more
