This was our first meal in London on this trip and we chose the place because it was on the way from out hotel to the St Paul's Cathedral. They had a lunch special which was very reasonably priced and the food was really nice. The appetizer We got was tandoori kebabs at they were succulent and flavorful. In the main course we got Aubergines and Achar chicken and they were nice and the naan was excellent. The ambience is nice but its crowded in there, I guess that comes with being in Central London. I would recommend.

After a busy day, we decide to eat Indian food and it was delicious! The staff were kind and polite. We were greeted with a smile. The food was amazing! My niece got the Chicken Tika. My daughter answered I had the vegetarian meals. Definitely worth the price and will be on my list for next time.

As others have mentioned, the service will surprise you. It is unexpectedly formal but attentive. (A detail that I found very pleasant) Someone will most likely greet you and ask about reservations. Don't be alarmed. They will still seat you rather quickly at lovely candle-lit cloth-covered tables. The food and beverages are flavorful and well-portioned. (We enjoyed every last bite!) The rice which comes with nearly all the dishes (if you don't opt for naan) is particularly aromatic. I found myself thoroughly impressed by just their side dishes! This is a great date location. I couldn't see myself revisiting this place with friends but I would love another special evening here. The ambiance was honestly just too cozy and romantic (and sometimes formal).

When I tell people the food in London is good, they don't believe me. However, that's because they haven't been to Indian City. A quaint little restaurant with seating both on ground level and in the basement. We were lucky that they were able to seat us for a table of two without reservation, but I wouldn't wing it the next time. And Indian City is worth the effort to RSVP. Service was excellent; decor was tastefully done. The food is delicious. We overheard the table next to us that they enjoyed the food and experience so much the night before that they made a reservation for the next night. Now that's saying something in a city filled with numerous choices for great cuisine!

London has some really good Indian restaurants and this is one of them. Started with a nice poppadum for the table which they charge £.95 per person for. Chicken tikka masala was excellent as was the chicken xacuti. Amazing flavor and blend of spices. Saag had great flavor but the paneer was not that great. Service was attentive and prices aren't bad. Note that 12.5% gratuity is added to the bill. Will definitely be back to this place and recommended.

For starters, we had the prawns and veggie samosas. Prawns were good and my family enjoyed the veggie samosas. Please not there are only 2 to an order. Entrees included black lentils w/garlic naan and chicken biryani. One can't handle spice and is lactose intolerant, and she was sniffling through the whole meal lol. The black lentils were good but the full flavor wasn't there and it wasn't as creamy as I've had in the past. The best ones I've had were in Thailand, but this didn't even come close. For both the lentils and the biryani, we had to add salt to try to enhance the flavor. We decides to give dessert a try and it was just okay. Initially we planned on order the gulag jamun, but it came with Cornish (vanilla) ice cream and I wanted pistachio. They were very inflexible and would not swipe out the ice cream even though they physically have to put the vanilla scoops on top. Overall, we wouldn't be back here. The quality of food is mediocre at best and hospitality could use a facelift.

A last minute rezzie at Dishoom was a long shot, so we were pleasantly surprised to find Delhi Grill a few blocks away from our hotel. Please note that they are open on Sundays - even though the Yelp page says they are not. Hopefully, that info will be corrected soon. Upon entering, your eye is immediately drawn to the myriad movie posters on the walls and to the lively Indian music videos playing on TV. I especially liked the many murals that dot the restaurant. For our party of 6, we ordered a variety of dishes to share along with 3 cocktails and a beer for the adults. All Of the cocktails were refreshing, tasty and were made with fresh fruit and/or herbs. Of the 3 cocktails we sampled, we liked the Ginger Refresh the best. The Elderflower & Strawberry Refresh and Mango Mojito were just as delicious. The Mojito uses fresh mango purée so be sure to stir well to incorporate the fruity yumminess! Let's talk about what we ate! Although the portion sizes are small to medium size, we felt that the 9 dishes we chose were satisfying for our party of 6. Everything we tried was delicious. Some of the stand out dishes were: tandoori paneer, chana, lamb biryani, spicy butter chicken and kurkuri bhindi.

FOOD 10/10 I haven't eaten Indian food much, but was thoroughly impressed. From my mango lassi which was perfectly sweetened and tart to buttered buns, fried okra, black Dahl, garlic naan, and lamb skewers, everything was delicious. I esp loved the lamb skewers! We ordered a side of garlic naan with cheese which is basically a quesadilla and it was super cheesy and delicious as well. OVERALL Would def recommend Dishoom when visiting London. The food was exceptional -- aroma, flavors, spice levels, portions; everything was perfect. While visiting London, a local friend invited me to Dishoom, knowing how much I love Indian cuisine. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 5PM, and the place was already packed. They don't take reservations for dinner unless you're a large group, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They have a fantastic bar where you can grab drinks while you wait for a table (they give you buzzers). I tried the Negroni and another tequila-based cocktail (sadly I can't remember the name), and both were phenomenal. Shared plates are definitely the way to go at Dishoom. We ordered the gunpowder potatoes (incredible), an appetizer with potatoes and pineapple (not my favorite; the pineapple threw me off), monkfish curry (amazing), and chicken curry. It was a lot of food for just two of us, but I couldn't stop eating. I seriously wanted to bottle up that sauce! The service was surprisingly impeccable, especially considering how busy they were. We ended up spending about £110 for an incredible dinner, and we nearly couldn't finish everything. Lastly, the ambiance! Inspired by Iranian cafes in India, the atmosphere at Dishoom is eclectic. I loved the dim lighting, unique decor, and the lively pace of the restaurant. Just go!

Biryani was a bit spicy but served with a yogurt sauce to soften the flavors. The korma was delicious and was a perfect item to balance the biryani. The naan was cooked perfectly. I only wish we had orders an extra side of steamed rice to not let any of the korma sauce go uneaten! We opted for dessert and tried the gulab jamun which was the perfect way to end the meal. This spot is an absolute gem with delicious food and exceptional service.

As soon as you walk in, they offer to hang your coat. The young lady who was our server for the evening gave us the best recommendations--I wish I knew her name. She was so patient with our many questions and didn't steer us wrong. My friends and I started with the wings as an appetizer. They had the perfect amount of grill flavor and were very saucy and well seasoned. There was no classy way to eat them--they were that good. For our entrées, we ordered the goat shoulder and the half rack of lamb chops. The half rack is more than enough for one person, especially with naan and rice. The reviewers were not lying when they said you must try the lamb chops. They came out sizzling, and we laughed because it took us back to dining at Chili's (iykyk). Perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. The same goes for the goat shoulder. This was my first time trying it, and I was very impressed with how good it tasted. While I'm not usually a dessert person, you must try the carrot pastry. Think of it like a McDonald's apple pie (the old-school one), but with warm carrot filling on the inside and a sprinkle of pistachio on the outside--just 10x better. Everything here tasted spectacular, including the chili naan. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes.
