For my main I went with the lamb korma. For a medium heat it had me sweating. It tasted amazing though! When I told the owner that it tasted like it had been simmering for hours, surprisingly, he said it only took about 15 minutes to whip up. Service is friendly and excellent here, but despite having "bar" in the restaurant name they don't serve alcohol. This was a bit of a bummer because there's nothing better than washing down some spicy food with an icy cold beer. If you appreciate excellent Nepalese food you've got check this place out! You won't be disappointed.

But we decided to still try the food anyway after having made the drive. The lamb curry was TOUGH. Could not cut it with a fork after several attempts and was super gummy. I raised this complaint with the server, she refused a refund or remake and insisted people cooked it and ordered it this way, which is just patently untrue. We were also rushed out of the restaurant so they could do their closing duties. The receipt also has a mystery 8% charge to it that just says "khaja gar" and no, that is NOT a mandatory tip and we had a party of two. This place is awful, scammy and I would never recommend.

It was so delicious! Really good with spices and flavor. You can eat inside or they have seating outside as well. Very comfortable outside and it's almost like an escape. Staff is also very friendly. Definitely looking forward to trying more options next time!

While the food was well-prepared and you could tell it was made with care, the Nepalese and vegan-style cuisine just wasn't my personal preference. I'm more of a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy, so the flavors weren't really what I typically enjoy. One thing I didn't care for was that after finishing our meal, customers are expected to take their own plates and dishes to a bin in the back of the restaurant. I know some people don't mind that, but it's not something I personally expect when dining out. Overall, if you're looking for authentic Nepalese food or enjoy vegan-friendly options, this restaurant is worth trying. It simply wasn't the right fit for my personal tastes, but others who enjoy this style of cuisine may have a much different experience. This review gives credit where it's due while making it clear that your opinion is based on your personal preferences rather than the quality of the restaurant.

The food was DELICIOUS- I got the chana masala, garlic naan, and a mango lassi, all of which were some of the best I've ever had, and my dining companion got the chicken chow mein, which they loved and said was elevated by the two types of onions used and the lime on top. We both are wusses and only got the spice level of two- I personally would go up to a three or four next time, and my dining partner said that they would stay at a two (their spice tolerance is lower than mine). With tip, we paid around $42, which we felt was very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. The restaurant was very empty on for a Saturday night- when we walked in around 6:00 PM, there was a couple that was packing up to leave, and a few delivery drivers came in to collect orders, but for the most part, it was just us, which needs to be rectified, as Hot N Spicy Restaurant and Bar is truly fantastic. The only thing we could think of was that the location wasn't optimal for attracting attention from potential customers passing by (it's in a strip mall, sandwiched between a Goodwill and a Habitat for Humanity ReStore), and people just don't know it's there? Overall, we can't wait to come back, and we're excited to tell all of our family and friends about this hidden gem so that they'll come try it too!
