ALL medical providers must, for insurance, HIPAA and other legal purposes, use patients' legal names for their records and insurance claims. Right? Right. However, medical (and all other service) providers should and must as a matter of courtesy and respect, in their offices, call and address people by the names they use and prefer. This Lake Eye Associates group of offices has for over a prolonged period failed/fails to annotate its patient charts with patients preferred names, in order to address patients by their preferred names. If service providers, ;such as this one, don't honor and respect patient desires in this small way, what else will they choose to neglect? This is a poor office practice that reulted/resutls in a poor office experience.

I was put in a wheel chair and wheeled out of the surgery center almost immediately after surgery and had a severe abreaction to the anesthetics, which I later learned were Versed and Fentanyl. Instead of empathy or even sympathy, the Nurse Supv seemed not to care and the Dr tried to blame the overdose or abreaction to Fentanyl on my possible dehydration. I've been dehydrated years before. My experience was not that. I had the classic side effects of fentanyl as described in several websites. It appears this practice is too arrogant to investigate itself and its protocols to protect its patients against fentanyl side effects; eg, to warn not to eat grapefruit or drink its juice soon after surgery. it's too bad, as the surgeon is good. I can't recommend Lake Eye Associates near The Villages, FL.

Professional, calm, welcoming, and polished without being stiff. Every interaction felt intentional. No rushed energy, no assembly-line medicine--just people who clearly take pride in what they do. The doctor deserves special recognition. He didn't just run tests--he listened. He took the time to understand what I was experiencing, asked the right questions, and made sure the diagnosis was thoughtful and precise. That kind of care is rare, and it immediately builds trust. This is what true professionalism looks like. Now let's talk about the frames--because this place operates on a completely different level. If you value style, individuality, and quality, you'll get it instantly. The selection is bold, curated, and refreshingly non-generic: high-end designer frames you don't see everywhere, displayed in a beautiful, boutique-style space. This is for people who care how they look and don't want what everyone else is wearing. A genuine thank you to the doctor and to Ron, the owner, for creating something special here. Medical expertise, elevated style, and exceptional service--all under one roof. I'll absolutely be back. Yelp Elite takeaway: when a place gets both the medical and the experience right, it earns loyalty. This one earned mine.

The owner was very friendly and helpful and explained all our options. The Dr. William Ramsay was amazing! Turned out my husband had an issue with his eye and he spent a lot of time with him making sure everything was done thoroughly and made the referral to an eye surgeon for us. I honestly can't say enough good things about the doctor and the owners of the business. If you need glasses, contacts or a thorough exam, check them out.

With this input, I hope to regain my trust in the opticians' services I have been using for years. A couple of weeks ago, I purchased two pairs of glasses; in one pair, the frame did not fit tightly around the lens. I came twice to report the problem; unfortunately, each time there was a long wait, and the optician advised me to come back at 8:00 AM when the office is slow. Following the advice, I arrived at 8 AM, an optician assistant, showed up around 8:10 AM. I asked about the opticians, and the assistant told me they were both running late. The optician assistant offered to take care of my glasses and, upon examining them, optician assistant announced that the frames are ok and, if I want, she might warm up the eye glasses frame, which might tighten the grip on the frame on the lenses. That solution did not make any sense to me and I 'sinsisted on seeing the optician, who showed up around 8:25 AM and told me that, indeed, the eyeglass frame is defective, admitted that she had missed inspecting it, and offered a replacement. Clearly, the optician assistant was incorrect in her evaluation of the frame. If I had not questioned her judgment and kept the defective frame, I would have missed the 60-day window to report the problem with the new glasses and would therefore be stuck with the defective frame or incur expensive repairs. I feel that the customers returning defective product should be a priority bypassing the waiting line. But if that is impossible and instead optician suggests to came at 8:00 AM to avoid waiting then logically an optician (at least one of them) should be be in the office on time, right?! Also, the opticians' staff at Ocala Eye at Laurel Manor may consider maintaining professional standards of healthcare workers which may include using the phrase "I am sorry" when appropriate.
