After recently moving to the area I thought I'd found my new Derm . NOT !! From my entrance to departure, my first ever appointment was just the worst I've ever had anywhere . Receptionist sternly informed me " we haven't finished lunch yet " . She appeared to have not missed many . Waiting room dismal and hot ( No a.c. Thru out ) 45 minutes before I saw Dr. She was perfunctory and showed absolutely no personality or empathy . Hadn't even glanced at my files I paid to have sent to her . Very abruptly dismissed a spot as " oh that's just a wart ". Fine but it's on my back and I don't know that . Just avoid. Seriously Avoid this office. I have had over 20 Basel cell cancers and several MOHS surgeries for their removals so I know good dermatologists . This isn't one imo read more

went there for the first time. i'm a mixed man with black and native ancestry to south america. so i am Latino and a real american. but the first words Dr.hines asked me was which dermatology center ive been to in the past. which i then responded saying "i don't know " because its been years. she then proceeded to look at her white partner , start laughing and asked me if it was in this country.... shorty assumed i'm latino by my looks. but didn't think to assume i was mixed with black or have been born in america? ? lmao hell na. that goofy got no iq. black ppl can be racist too. she shouldnt be working there. and as a mixed person i am not supportive of any of that, and very offended of that clown ass shi. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. From the moment I walked into this office, the staff treated me rudely and dismissively, as if I was supposed to read their minds instead of being guided through the process. Unfortunately, things did not improve once I finally met with Dr. Hines. Her attitude explained everything--when the boss is rude and doesn't listen, it trickles down. A doctor should listen to their patients, provide respectful care, and never make snap judgments without examination or explanation. This office failed me on every level. Secretaries were completely condescending and instead of deescalating issues, they escalated it! Was basically told our appointment is canceled because the doctor did not want to wait for our appointment due to to other cancelled earlier appointments. I would've preferred a lie over this. This isn't the first time either, the first cancellation was for the EXACT same reason - the doctor did not want to wait! It's hard to believe all those glowing 4- or 5-star reviews aren't fake and misleading. I only gave her one star because that's the lowest option available. Save your time and dignity--look for a real human being instead of this money-hungry impostor. Horrible Experience--Completely Unprofessional and Disrespectful. We only went back because my son urgently needed a dermatologist, and we couldn't find another available. My son and I waited over an hour and fifteen minutes for our appointment. Not once did anyone apologize or acknowledge the delay. When Dr. SWINES finally came in, she had an attitude that was dismissive, cold, and extremely rude from the start. She didn't even bother to get up from her chair to look at what my son was complaining about. She refused to listen to either of us or allow us to explain our concerns, cutting us off repeatedly and pushing for a prescription without any real discussion or understanding of what he was going through. When my son brought up a second issue, her response was completely unacceptable: "I can only treat one thing per visit--you'll have to come back." No empathy, no professionalism--just a condescending tone and clear disinterest in actually helping. When I tried to explain how long we had waited, she snapped, "Well, I'm the only one working here, and I have a lot of patients." Mind you, the clinic is her own private practice--named after herself--yet she shows no accountability, no compassion, and no basic courtesy. She made it very clear that we were just another number in line and not worth her time. She could easily hire additional staff to help reduce wait times and improve patient care, but being the penny-pinching, self-serving person she is, she chooses not to. I used to be her client years ago, and I left after discovering that, despite my best efforts to be kind to her (even giving her a small gift, trying to "kill her with kindness"), she had prescribed me medication that could severely damage my face in the long run. Of course, she didn't care. My daughter and my husband were also her patients, and both stopped going because of how rude she was. The entire experience felt rushed, dismissive, and downright disrespectful. She is ugly inside and out, and her rudeness rubs off on her staff, making the whole environment unpleasant and unwelcoming. If you're looking for a dermatologist who listens, values your time, and treats you with respect, you might want to consider other options. We will never return, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. TL;DR, Waited over an hour; "Dr. SWINES" was rude, dismissive, and didn't even get up to examine my son. She refused to address more than one issue per visit, snapped when I mentioned the wait, and displayed no compassion or professionalism. I used to be her patient, but I left after she prescribed medication that had the potential to seriously damage my face. My daughter and husband also left because of her rudeness. Worst experience I have ever had with a DR. She was rude condescending to my teenager and her issues. She dismissed me when I was talking and acted as if our visit was an imposition. Truthfully the worst doctor I've ever experienced and I've seen many doctors. I saw this doctor a year ago and I am still upset about the absolute disrespect and lack of compassion Dr Hines and her staff have. She must only hire people who are as rude and terrible as her so when people complain no one cares. I had never been spoken to in such a terrible disrespectful way by a doctor. She should not be practicing. It was appalling. I burst into tears in front of her due to how she was yelling at me and she rolled her eyes. Dr Hines is incredibly rude and condescending. Just like other reviews here have pointed out, she seems to enjoy belittling people. When i left from my first and only appt with her i honestly felt like i was in the twilight zone. Funny enough, when i called my primary care recently to request that they refill the prescriptions she'd given me so i wouldn't have to deal with her again, they asked where i had gone and when i replied their response indicated that they were quite aware of how unprofessional and rude she is. They even went as far as to recommend other dermatologists for me! It seems that her reputation proceeds her which is quite unfortunate. read more

I rarely write negative reviews like this but Hines Dermatology warrants it. I first went here about 6 years ago and I never went back to get my results, just called. When I visited recently, I remembered why. Dr. Hines is not a good doctor. Like a lot of other reviewers have stated, she has a horrible bedside manner. However, just having a bad bedside manner wouldn't make you a bad doctor. I've had great doctors that were brilliant in their field, didn't have a great bedside manner, but LISTENED to the patient. Dr. Hines does not seem to actually care or listen to what you are saying. My two main examples: 6 years ago - was made to feel like I was overreacting to a small patch of dry skin on my elbow that I had come in for. Reluctantly biopsied it. It was PSORIASIS. Recent visit - Was totally dismissive of my concern about my dry scalp and increased hair loss, I thought it might be psoriasis related. Gave no solution. When I asked again if anything could be done, she again seemed very reluctant to help; "I can send you to get some blood done for tests if you want." I also showed her some bizarre bumps I had all over my legs. She looked for about 2 seconds and said, "Those are bug bites." When I said, "I haven't really been outside..", she interrupted and said "Well, if you've sat a bench, that's what it looks like. Bug bites." I had a BROKEN LEG and had not been outside in weeks. I understand you can get bug bites inside as well, but point remains. This is exactly where, in extreme cases, people could have potentially life threatening things missed. Not everyone feels comfortable enough to advocate for what they need, and especially not with a dismissive, rude, and unprofessional doctor like Dr. Hines. read more

I'm not a therapist, I think this Dr Hines has something going on in her life that prevents her from providing average quality service. If you read the reviews, you can see a pattern. I hope all readers take a look and see that Dr Hines is a person. Something is not going right for her. I feel sorry for her. As far as professional service goes - Dr Hines did not perform the service. She told us that she would need to make a large incision and the scar would be large. I had an appointment for my 16 month old and was ten minutes early. I was told to wait outside because they didn't open until 9, even though they're posted hours say they open at 8. I then watched them let two other people into the waiting room while I waited until 9. On top of that, Dr. Hines basically just told me I should've taken my child to a different dermatologist, even though we confirmed their office would take an appointment with a toddler. read more

Do not waste your time here. When I first became a patient I ignored the insanely negative reviews because this was the only office near me that didnt have a 6+ month waiting list and I didnt want to wait. Do not make this mistake, there is a reason she is easy to get an appointment with. You will be rushed through appointments and not offered any helpful advice. You have a question? Dr. Hines does not like questions, you will have to interuppt her before she ends the appointment to ask any questions at all. She will answer you like you are an idiot for asking anything at all. I have struggled with acne for years, tried the topicals she prescribed, not much difference. Tried the antibiotics, would clear up somewhat for a little bit but the side effects are not worth it and as soon as your off them acne comes back. Dr. Hines is happy to take your copay and spend about 4 minutes (if that) speaking with you but not offering any real soluations. She will just recycle the same non working treatments. I recently asked about acutane during a regular refil telehealth, she would not answers questions at that time and again rushed me out. I had to schedule an in-office appointment to speak about this. (I usually do telehealth, since she only speaks with you for about 2 minutes just to refil your prescription, which would be fine if those prescriptions were working). My appointment was at 11:00, didn't get called into a room until 11:20, then I sat in the room until 12:00 and listened to her in the next room completeing telehealth appointments. When she finally came in she was in the room for about 2 minutes, she asked me "So you want to start acutane?" I said yes. She said "ok" and handed me off to her incompetant assistant. Acutane is a serious drug to be on, she did not speak to me about anything regarding this or the general procedure and barely looked at me. I was given information to read through and sign regarding risks of the medication, I was told to read it all and sign it. While attempting to read it fully her assistant came into the room several times and was rushing me to finish. I was then handed a lab work paper for blood work and told to "Go to any lab" and get bloodwork done. Again, trying to ask any kind of question is frowned upon. I asked when this needed to be done by, scheduling this was a pain since I was not informed prior to begining the process of the schedule of events that had to take place before getting on this medication and I was out of the country for two weeks after. I asked if there was a list they had of labs or somewhere they worked with/recommended, she looked at me like I was an idiot for asking. Excuse me for being unfamiliar with the process. She said "This is so simple for men and such a hassle for women, I wouldn't even bother". Encouraging. This woman did not appear to know what she was doing regarding the whole procedure and had to keep leaving the room to ask Dr. Hines questions. Whatever, I don't mind, I'm certainly no expert every single day at work either. As long as things get done correctly. But they were not. You are required to wait a month to get the blood work after that first appointment, month goes by, I get the bloodwork, follow up appointment with Dr. Hines the next day, she says everything is all good and I'm set to start. Awesome!!! Even confirming the follow up appointment is annoying to them, when I was again passed onto the assistant to schedule the appointment, I repeated the appointment time and date back to her to ensure I was writing it correctly and received a clearly annoyed response. About two hours later I get a call from someone else in the office informing me that when I began the process my information was not entered into the required database, so I was now stuck in a waiting period for a month before I could start over. What a complete waste of time and money. At first when she was explaining this to me she was making it sound like this was my fault, she asked if I had read the information given to me and if I had received the "packet" that said I needed to be signed into this database. If 3 loose pieces of paper is a "packet", then yes. I said I was not told to sign myself onto anything, then she said it was their fault and that they had failed to enter me. She asked if I wanted them to refil my topical medication while I waited, I was upset and told her I was all set, she could take me off the patient list and cancel my follow up appointment. I had to call back and ask them to refil it, stating to them that I needed it and christ only knows how long I'll have to wait for a new appointment because I would not be continuing with their office for anything. I'm begging you, just find a different office to go to. read more

Rudest dr I've EVER encountered - doesn't want to answer questions and basically ignores you, and when she gets annoyed by questions, just stares at you and asks "are you done?" My insurance recently changed so I needed to find a new dermatologist. She was listed under my new insurance plan and had immediate openings. My first appointment she told me that my entire skin care routine was wrong and my face issues were my fault. My second appointment, I waited 30 minutes and she took in the appointment that was scheduled prior to mine. After 45 minutes, I rescheduled and left. I did return 2 more times, however, I always left feeling very Dissatisfied. She also wanted me to return every two weeks when most regimens don't start taking effect for at least 4 to 6. I am back to my former dermatologist and privately paying... When I returned to them, they told me that many of their clients have had the same complaints about Dr. Hines. Had a really horrible experience here! Was put on antibx for acne for 5 months or so with no changes in my skin. She just kept upping dose and eventually changed antibx. You will not feel like she cares about you so don't expect that. Barely reads your chart. Asked me once why I didn't want oral antibx all along I had been taking oral meds so I followed up her question with, I have been for months.. just a really careless doc that doesn't seem to really like what she does. The waits were always crazy, too.. 30mins, one time 45 mins.... . All for a 3 minute follow up. I wouldn't recommend her, travel elsewhere even if this place is close for you. Trust me. read more

What a miserable human Dr. Hines is. I went here solely based on location to my house. For some issues I was having on my chest area. Upon my first visit she examined me from across the room. Never took a good look. I tried asking questions what could cause this and if there is anything I should be doing/avoiding. She told me "you would know better than me". So I guess i am the Dermatologist now. She seemed annoyed anytime I would ask questions and was just trying to get me out of there as quick as possible. She prescribed me an anti biotic, and 3 other things. A few days after starting the medicine it messed my stomach up and causing agonizing pain. I called and the women at the front desk told me to stop taking the medicine since i had a follow up scheduled the following week. I did and 5 days latter i started feeling "normal" again. I eat the same thing every day so these medicines she prescribed me are the only new things that where put in my body. I google searched the medicine and saw constipation and stomach pain were possible side effects. Fast forward to my follow up yesterday. She asked how my chest was doing, I told her its starting to clear up but i had to stop taking the medicine. Instead of asking why, she just said "well you wont get better if you don't take it". I told her what it was doing to me. She told me I was wrong, that the medicine she prescribed doesn't do that. At that point I told her I do not think she was a good fit for me. She said ok, and walked out not once did she even look at my chest. I would not recommended this women to my worst enemy. read more

I was highly disappointed with the treatment of my service as a patient at this clinic. The staff is very friendly up front and the nurse was pleasant... the Doctor on the other hand was rude right off the back! The first thing she said to me was not "hi how are you today", but "what do you want"... like WTF I want you to treat me like a human being not a damn number in your book! I had all the face washes and lotions that Ulta Beauty recommended but I felt like she should look at them and see if they were right for me. With an attitude before me even explaining my skin condition she says "I don't do cosmetology ..." with an attitude and a blank face. She was super ignorant, unemotional, and plain RUDE! She completely forgot what she had treated me for and how many doses I was taking. She didn't even look at my birth control to see if that was the problem for my acne... which IT WAS!! She is so quick to get her money's worth of patients in and out that she has no idea who you are. Super cold and has an awful bed side manner. I even heard her talking down to her staff. I spent years trying to figure out what was wrong with my body in terms of odor. I thought there was no solution until things I relied on stopped working. In one appointment with Dr. Hines, she identified the issue and revealed the solution in under 7 minutes. It was honestly crazy. I'm super grateful and thankful for their work. I wish I could give negative stars!!! I got to my appointment on time, and still had to wait over an hour and a half to be seen. Which isn't a HUGE deal. But wait, it gets way worse! (Read last paragraph if you wanna hear the worst part) As soon as dr.hines came into the room she immediately was so harsh, careless and rude I couldn't even believe it. Everything I said she had a mean Condescending response. She made me feel stupid. I went in for 3 separate issues. And there was a lot of history about these issues that I told her in full detail .. after about 1 minute of me telling her my history she interrupted me and said "okay enough of the story . Get to the point. What's the problem" . Red flag!!!! I brought up my next skin issue. I've been having issues with my eyes. She didn't even look at it and just said it was dermatitis. I asked her a bunch of questions .. like "what is that?" She harshly responded with "idk it's a broad term. Could be anything" I said .. "ok? So is this something I have to live with forever?" Her response "I don't kno, here's a ointment to put on your eye lid." I said "well what's the point of putting that ointment on my eye lid when the issue isn't on my eye lid?" She got so mad!!!!!!! She looked at me and said "you came here for my opinion, that's my opinion. Do you want my help or not" I was like ".. I'm just confused I'm just asking questions..:" there was more rude conversation that went on and on but that's not the worst part. *****I went to Walgreens to pick up my prescriptions. They kindly asked if I had any questions and I said "yes, my dermatologist didn't even explain these to me. " as we were going over the creams I pointed to the one for my eyes and asked "she told me to put this on my eyelid ... does that sound right??" The pharmacists jaws dropped. She looked at me very concerned and said "miss, this ointment isn't even supposted to go ANYWHERE NEAR your eye.. let alone ON your eye!!! It's not sterile it would be very dangerous if that got into your eye. Here use this instead" I just could not believe it. DR.HINES PUT MY HEALTH IN DANGER!!!!!! She is a careless BITCH!!!!!! Dr. Hines will make you feel like an absolute moron for not knowing the things she, a DOCTOR, knows. All of the other reviews are true. She will belittle you and is extremely condescending when answering questions. I went it for something on my skin that freaked me out but ended up being nothing. When explaining to her I was nervous because of the weird shape she responded with, "Well I'd be more than happy to do a biopsy". AFTER telling me it was nothing to be worried and I only explained this to her because of how dumb she made me feel even going there in the first place. I've been taking this witch's abuse for years and I've finally had it. She's a greedy nasty woman. My child has simple teenage acne and she has him coming back every month and won't fill his acne creams unless we see her once a month. The acne creams are not steroids or any other type of cream that would warrant him having to see her once a month. She is just being greedy and I am told that I owe a payment every time we have an appointment even though we have insurance and the deductible has been met. The final straw was when I booked an appointment on line and went to the appointment only to find the door locked. Why have online booking when the appointment times you offer,do not match your actual appointment schedule? Her receptionists are mean bitches as well. I think they are unhappy working for such a rigid mean woman. During appointments, she is condescending, rude and ready to argue if you question anything she recommends. If you don't mind taking mental abuse and being sucked dry of your funds, then by all means have this torturous woman be your dermatologist. I am done with her and her office staff.
