Rating: Very poor. Written record provided to me of my exam and procedure that was done at Agape office did not have the name of either of the people that provided my treatment. At follow-up appointment, when treatment area was infected, nurse named "Paul" glanced at problem area from 2 - 3 feet away and said "it's supposed to look like that", so I ended up bringing it to the attention of a nurse elsewhere, who agreed it was infected and started me on treatment, which worked. Because of nurse Paul's lack of care / attention, I will not be returning, and will advise others to seek treatment elsewhere. read more

If I could give my visit today July 14th 2025 zero stars I would . Paul Mallari The physician was extremely dismissive from the moment he walked into the room . He didn't look at my face and didn't give a crap what I was saying. He's extremely cocky and showed prejudice synonym the entire 2 minutes he was in the room with me. He told me I can use a lighting cream BUT my insurance "probably" don't cover it but it's about $35-$40 dollars . This man never gave me the name of the "cream of anything" I stared at him like if he was an idiot , he asked what was wrong and when I explained to him he didnt look at me and seemed to have had a solution BEFORE even meeting me , how he was extremely dismissive he said "OH OKAY" and walked off ..... I was a patient here for a couple of years, and I think they are okay if you need a dermatologist who does the bare minimum. While I was a patient here they did not resolve any of my skin concerns and they mostly instilled fear in me. Before sending out pathology saying you better hope it's not this. That could be serious. I would just recommend going elsewhere. But here is my story. Anytime they want to do a "hole punch" biopsy stop and think do I want this scar or is there another way to resolve this skin issue? Because it will in fact leave a circle scar. Before I got my procedure I asked the nurse practitioner, will this scar? She said nope! It will be a tiny scratch at best. She wanted to perform this on both of my arms but I'm so grateful that day I pushed for only one biopsy. Since then I've had multiple IPL laser treatments at a new derm in order to reduce the scar on my arm. It's still a work in progress. I also had another procedure done here, that I had to have redone at my new dermatologist. Just think twice before following their recommendations. If they say try this cream, you're probably fine but if they want to do a hole punch biopsy try and seek an alternative and don't allow them scare you into taking their recommendations. read more

IF YOU ARE A TEEN OR YOUNG ADULT WITH A HISTORY OF ACNE, DO NOT GO HERE. I had an appointment to get a potential cortisone injection for my cystic acne. I waited 45 minutes in the examination room before I was seen by Paul Mallari. He did not apologize for the long wait and immediately seemed annoyed I was there at all. He said he wouldn't do the injection due complications from my fair skin, which was fine by me (the receptionist on the phone told me they would have to see me in person before they could confirm they would do the procedure). When I tried to ask follow up questions, I was met with cold and patronizing responses. He belittled and rolled his eyes at me for not knowing the exact mg dosage of a medication I just started (even after I offered to look it up in my CVS account), cut me off as I tried to give him information on my past treatments and their efficacy, and joked that I should go on accutane again because clearly I'd exhausted my other options. I wish I could provide a recording of our conversation, because his tone was so unbelievably disrespectful as I asked clarifying questions about my current breakout and the treatment plan he prescribed me. I've had painful breakouts off and on since high school and have been on every acne treatment under the sun. I'm lucky to have clear skin most of the time, but I still suffer from occasional breakout spells that go away after treatment. For many folks like me, this is a sensitive topic that brings up a lot of emotion. I left my appointment in tears because of the way Paul Mallari spoke to me. Ive been to numerous dermatologists and other doctors, and I've never experienced such a condescending, short, callous tone from a health care provider before, especially from an older man to a young adult woman. The young female assistants and receptionists are incredibly kind, and frankly, I feel sorry they have to work with him because if he talks to his PAYING patients that way, I can only begin to imagine how he treats junior staff. The only other Google reviewer for this place had the same experience I just did, so I wish I'd taken more caution before scheduling my appointment. To protect your own mental health and wellbeing, I would suggest any of the numerous online and in person providers across the state of Rhode Island before I would EVER recommend setting foot in that office. read more

I walked in and was greeted promptly by the receptionist who was really sweet and friendly. I had booked an appointment with Nurse Stephanie for filler and Botox. Steph's personality was great- so friendly from start to finish! I brought my family in and she was super accommodating! She also discussed prices and everything she would be doing before starting, which I liked I knew right away that she knew what she was doing because I told her I was prone to cold sores. I didn't have to say anymore as she had already called a prescription in to my local pharmacy. I have been getting filler done for A few years and when I mention it sadly a lot of the prescribers don't even know what I'm talking about- the fact she knew what I was talking about not only gave me a sigh of relief but also provided me positive insight right away! She did an amazing job and used smaller needles which made the procedure less painful and certainly helps if you hate needles! She was so honest, upfront, and realistic about everything- - refreshing! She was also just very thoughtful about everything! I would definitely come back and see her again ! I was super impressed with the results! The filler special that she is running is also amazing so take advantage of that if you can !! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. My experience was traumatizing, and I still have an unsightly scar to show for it. I saw a nurse practitioner here a year ago to have a mole removed from my face. I've had facial moles shaved off before, and usually the mole is removed so that it's level with the rest of my skin. She claimed that this was a routine practice for her. This nurse made a HOLE in my face by making a deep cut instead of shaving off the mole at the surface as I requested. As soon as I saw the deep wound my heart sank. Even worse--it's on my forehead, so there's no hiding it. After the wound healed, it was clear that the scar was going to be even more prominent than the mole as it's 3x larger than it should be and deep. They attempted to "fix" the scar by injecting silicone filler under the scar (which I later learned is risky in itself--silicone is permanent!! if you have a bad reaction to it, you are screwed). They claimed they were doing the silicone filler for free to correct the problem, but I have since received bills for the filler that I refuse to pay because this was obviously their mistake. I do not trust them to do anything to my face anymore and I am paying $$$$ to correct the scar at another medical spa. I am always going to have a prominent scar in the middle of my face--it's never going to go away completely. Stay away from this place if you value your face. read more

Love love love this dermatology place. I was at a halt when nothing was working for my face , my acne was terrible. My primary dermatologist recommended me to this place , and I'm glad he did. My initial appointment was to get laser surgery on my face since we have tried everything else in the book. Of course I was super nervous but the dermatologist(s) that work here made me feel super comfortable and so far I had 3 laser treatments and they worked. When you feel like your at your end please try this place. There's plenty of parking , and they get you in and out they don't keep you in here long. The receptionist is super sweet and the assistants are also super nice. I really love this place , they cater to everyone. I had lost all hope and they helped me gain my confidence back, now that my laser is done I will be doing face masks there. Try this place out its well worth it get your confidence back. read more

I don't think I'll ever switch from this dermatologist. I love them so much! I was dealing with acne since the age of 13 and as the years went by, I had so much hyperpigmentation. I'm currently in my senior year and I had tried everything around Dermatology but as my skin worsened, I needed one. I came here onto Yelp and noticed Agape had great reviews. The first I visited they were super helpful and made me feel comfortable with the place. I visit every month now and I can not tell you how good of people they are. They help with with whatever I need, so attentive and consist. My acne was horrible and I'm now glowing with better skin. Thank you to everyone who works at Agape. 10/10 read more

All of the five star reviews drew me in, but unfortunately I did not have as positive an experience. The Dr. spent all of 5 minutes in the room with me and barely peeked at the issue I was having on my back. She gave me prescriptions to two separate mail order pharmacies and told me they would all be free. I ended up needing to spend $90 and wait a week for everything to come in. Why couldn't I just use my local pharmacy? I called the office three times to see if I could get the prescriptions switched to another pharmacy that was faster and cheaper, and to figure out why I was having to pay in the first place since the doctor told me everything should be free. It is now 3 days later and no one has returned my call. I never write reviews but this was a really disappointing experience. read more

This review is LONG overdue. I absolutely love Paul Mallari for clearing up my face acne. I started breaking out my junior year in college and had no clue why. I tried everything in the books. I mean every damn thing! I was starting to lose hope. After trying out everything, I decided I wanted to get on Accutane. I did my research, and I was positive about it six months later. I visited numerous doctors, and none of them weren't able to get me on Accutane. A few of my doctors had me take antibiotics which caused me to break out even more (even though I had already told me I tried every acne antibiotic). Having excessive acne was messing up my relationship with my friends and loved ones. I always wanted to be alone because I was so embarrassed by my acne. Then, God sent Mallari into my life. Well, I got recommended to him and made an appointment haha. We took a pregnancy test, and he told me to get my blood work done before my follow-up appointment. I did as he said and I started Accutane a month later! It was the best five months of my life. A year later, I am still acne free, and my face isn't as oily as it was before Accutane. I still get oily around my t-zone, but it's not as bad as before. I know this is going to sound like a commercial, but I got my confidence back! I am much happier, and I get to enjoy my life without being insecure about my face acne. Now on to the basics. The office is bright and beautiful. It's spotless, spacious, and they have a big parking lot. They have amazing hours that can work around full-time workers schedules. The front desk girls are so sweet and helpful! They never caught an attitude with me or spoke to me in a rude tone. The average wait time was 15-20 minutes. It depends on what time you're scheduled. I find that the earlier appointments went by quicker. Mallari is a perfectionist, and he's great at his job. I recommended my sister to him, and she's been going there ever since. I will continue to recommend everyone I know to Mallari. read more

this place is terrible. i had a cyst on my ear and went to agape to have it taken care of. without running any tests they told me it was a keloid and it would take months to get rid of. they gave me shots every month of some steroid until finally we had had enough. the staff was rude, the service was slow, and they never answered the phone. we left agape after a year and went to dr. pomerantz in pawtucket. our first day there they took a piece of my "keloid" off and ran a biopsy. they discovered it was a cyst and i had it removed the day they found out. agape is awful and i'm being generous by giving them two stars. read more
