Most of the reviews here on Yelp were positive so we decided to give it a try. On first look we were delighted to see the oversized portions, I mean the dumpling was the size of my palm, maybe a little bigger and the egg roll looked like a swaddled infant! Soup first, broth had no flavor but the wontons were good. Next came the plump eggrolls, nope, no good. Eggrolls were all cabbage and tasted like they were all cabbage, very bland. The giant vegetable dumplings were all dough with a little chopped cabbage (again with the cabbage), the dipping sauce was good. Vegetable lo mein, bland plastic noodles dammit. The best thing was the Generals Tofu (steamed), I liked the texture of the tofu and loved the sauce. I'm so confused about the amount of good reviews, maybe I'm missing something but this Jewish Chinese food expert is saying no to Hing Hing. Wasn't impressed, yes portions are humongous but quality is just not there. Got take out, restaurant was duty and parking kind of tough. Had wonton soup OK, tofu with garlic sauce was very good, dumplings were softball size but all dough, eggrolls again large but not flavorful. Sorry Hing Hing, but it's a No No. read more

Went back today after moving away years ago. Food is very good and portions are huge. General Tso's chicken was white meat, very tender and tasty, boneless ribs were good but a little salty, garlic shrimp was excellent, as was the lo mein. As long as you are willing to pick up your food as there is no delivery, it's very good. read more

Best take out Chinese food on Long Island, no contest. Portions are beyond what you can eat in one sitting. Egg roll is about the size of an infant's leg and delicious. The fried wontons are soft and the best tasting of all the take out restaurants I've tried. Whenever I'm in Lindenhurst, I make sure to bring home some Hing Hing for dinner (and lunch the next day). read more

The reviews were interesting to say the least. Stopped on Friday night at 7 pm 07/14/23. Had to be 100 degrees inside the store ,so I ordered and stood outside and waited. Scroungy looking place ,but ordered the steamed dumplings and egg roll. Both are huge compared to others. I was pleasantly surprised with the dumplings being so big , but good. The egg roll while being big was just cabbage filled. Would definitely go back on my way home and try other items off the menu. Volume of food taken out by others is crazy. read more

I had been going to a different restaurant for over 20 years but have recently closed. I tried all the Chinese restaurants in the area, and Hing Hing is the best tasting. I've tried about six different food choices, and all have been good. You also get huge portions. A pint is more like a quart the way they pack it. Looks like a winner. read more

There really is no comparison. HUGE portions, delicious and flavorful, and staff is on top of it! My recommendation is General Tso's.

Ok it's not pretty, it's just not. And it's CASH ONLY. The parking sucks, but It's a solid 3 star, I want to give it 3.5 for the amounts alone they give. It's a good local go to spot when I want to drop minimum coin for copious amounts of food. When I say copious please understand it's not a sometime thing. They overfill the containers on EVERYTHING they make, minus the soups of course. Which I think they would try if there was a separate spare reservoir. Good American Chinese food. Combination plate with Beef and string beans was good but the egg roll was terrible, maybe the worst I ever had, threw it out. Not worth doing a combo that way. Order food separately and get a different appetizer. Chow Fun was good enough. read more

My wife and I decided to try out Hing Hing. We both ordered the boneless spare ribs combination platters. First thing we noticed is the size of the egg rolls. They are the biggest I have ever seen. They are jam packed with shredded cabbage and chopped pork. Most importantly they are delicious. Perfectly fired and very flaky. The fried rice was very good too.I did feel that they use too much soy sauce on the rice. The spare ribs were perfectly cooked and very tasty. This is our new go to Chinese take out place. This place is scary looking from the outside and even scarier looking from the inside, but I just don't seem to care! My friend and I arrived at a quarter to 8 on a freezing Tuesday night. We were grabbing takeout for ourselves and my mom and sister. Let me start off by saying, the place was FREEZING. I'm sorry, but if you don't offer delivery, you sure as hell should turn the heat on. We couldn't feel our toes after we left for at least half an hour. Also, this place looks like where you go in a horror movie before the evil killer comes our with a knife and stabs you 25 times... So it's severely lacking on ambiance, who cares? The food is awesome. By far, the best food in the area, especially for price. My friend ordered Lo Mein, wonton soup, and dumplings. Enough food to last her about a week because the portions are massive, and it cost her $14. As for me, I was ordering for 3. I got a pint of general tsos (which is more like a quart because after they fill your container, they add another pint of food on top and just cling wrap it.) I ordered beef mei fun, a shrimp roll, an egg roll, 8 dumplings, pint of wonton egg drop soup, and a pint of shrimp Lo Mein, and it came to $37. Honestly not bad because we'll be eating this food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next 5 days. The egg rolls are the size of a newborn, as are the dumplings. Portions are crazy and the food is delicious. Things you need to know: CASH only and no delivery. Also, wear 8 pairs of socks if you ever want to feel your toes again. read more

I tried Hing Hing last night after reading all these posts and checking out Yelp. I ordered boneless ribs, young chow fried rice, sesame chicken, a shrimp roll and wonton soup. The rice was delicious... brown with egg like they used to make years ago. Next time I would get just shrimp or pork. The chicken that was in it was good, but the pieces were too big. The sesame chicken was excellent. Boneless Ribs were really good, I would just prefer them to be more well done and to be cut a bit smaller. Wonton soup was the BOMB! Shrimp roll was loaded with cabbage...just cabbage and 2 shrimp. I will definitely go back but I will NOT be buying the shrimp roll or even the egg roll for that matter. read more

So, Here's the Scoop: Hing Hing is fabulous!!!! There food is always seasoned, portions large and staff very friendly and accommodating. I can't come to Lindenhurst without stopping here. I've been a customer for many years so this Yelp is way over due. The original owner went back home. Everyone who has followed in his footsteps has kept the tradition of great food and portions. Food is prepared quickly and prices reasonable. There's always food for the next day. My husband introduced me to this place over ten years ago and I've been smitten ever since. There's a constant flow of customers and telephone orders. Decor can use a facelift but the focus is on food and not sit down. It's strictly take out and cash only. There's 2 benches to sit while you wait for your order and I bench table to sit and eat in. If you need an ATM you can use 7-Eleven's across the street. One of my favorites the Shrimp rolls are large and chock full of shrimp. I can go on and on. I urge you to check this place out, don't miss out on this great food. read more

Every time I get food from there it's hit or miss. Yes the portions are large and the egg rolls are large full of vegetable and no meat tasting like styrofoam. So last time I ordered the food was the worst.I called the women who took the order and asked is there a different cook she said same cook you don't like bring back I give you money back.
