For what this is .... a takeout, storefront, fast food Chinese place ... I am so happy to have found it!! the wonton soup flavor was so good not greasy & nice plump wontons. roast pork fried rice had lots of big pieces of delicious pork. And the eggroll is good. Excellent Chinese food especially for a little take out restaurant. Better food than most fancy sit down places. Always fresh and tasty. The vegetable fried rice is great with fresh not frozen vegetables. The Cantonese fried noodles, which are not always easy to find, are delicious as is everything else I have had. read more

Took a chance on an odd tiny Chinese food place and was pleasantly surprised. Don't go there thinking that you are going to walk in, sit down and eat, dont even think that you are going to walk in at all. Nope, you going to walk one step in and be met by a window and a wall. Talk loud when you order because the guy on the other side of the window might not be able to hear you if you don't! This is my second time ordering from this place, yep, I went back for seconds. We had wonton soup- very good and I'm pretty picky about my soup. Egg rolls were very good. Lo mein was just eh, kind of mushy and did not really taste stir fried. Eggplant with garlic sauce was some of the best I've had and my partner in crime said the spare ribs were awesome. So I guess this will be my go to take out place now. This is a solid Chinese food restaurant in Lindenhurst. Some of our favorites from here would be the fried pork dumplings, crab rangoon and the pork fried rice. Lots of good flavors and great service. My one complaint would be that they do tend to over cook the egg rolls, but if you are into that then this is the place for you. To start it, Chinese food is my favorite. Which means I can be ultra picky about where I choose to get my food from. I am not from the local area so when I had to look for a place to get food I was very intimidated by the options. After reading a bunch of reviews I had two or three options I was going to go with and made the choice of new fortune cookie. Since I was pet sitting for my sister-in-law who lives close by, I was having a craving for American-Chinese food for dinner. The take out restaurant is located in a strip area in a decent sized parking lot. Like another review said, the restaurant name is wrong on yelp and should be Good Fortune Cookie. The appearance is your standard Chinese take out, dim lights, standard menu with lots of choices, lunch specials and combination plates. I decided to get the general tso's chicken combination plate with an egg roll and pork fried rice. The order was cooked fresh and I received it steaming hot. The flavor was overall very good and not too oily. I liked that the chicken was moist. The egg roll was also very delicious and not heavily. I have been a long time customer of this place, but just ordered tonight and food was terrible! Chicken and beef was beyond chewy and even the rice was bland. They don't even throw in fortune cookies anymore, go figure with a name like "New Fortune Cookie" . I called to complain and got hung up on, then called back about the hang up and whoever answered the phone just started mumbling jibberish and didn't offer any resolution. This is a solid Chinese food place in Lindenhurst. It's not the best I've ever had but far from the worst. We ordered from here recently and they were extremely nice and helpful on the phone. The food was good and was nice and hot when it got here. We ordered Szechuan beef, steamed dumplings, boneless spare ribs Lo mein and pork fried rice. The fried rice and ribs were really good. The Szechuan beef was good and the lo mein and dumplings were just ok. The delivery guy was nice and polite however it took over 40 minutes for our food to get here and they are literally down the block. Literally. The food is fresh and delicious every time you order and the people who run it are very very nice. This is a good place, but not the easiest to find in the dark. The name isn't "new" fortune cookie Chinese restaurant, but "Good" Fortune Cookie Chinese Restaurant (at least that's on the menu that I posted a picture of). You would not know this from the signage outside. That said I feel lucky and glad that I did finally find it. We had the house special chicken chow mein and the singapore chow mei fun. When the lady said that they included crab in each dish, I was ecstatic. I love crab, so yeah, go for it :) Got home and started to serve up, but then I noticed... she meant "krab". Okay, I understand the convenience and cost effectiveness of using this product, but please not in house special dishes. Krab (most of the time chopped & formed pollock) isn't bad in and of itself, but it has a better purpose than to be in a house special dish. Our food was delicious, krab aside, and I will continue to enjoy my leftovers. I will order from here again even if they do use krab instead of crab, it's just that good. Got the usual wonton soup, can't go wrong there. Believe me places have in that department. But their wontons were great, meaty and soft.
