ISI Elite is the truth when it comes to working out. Trust me when I say that it is one of the…read moretoughest and friendliest places to exercise. They have franchise locations in other states and began opening Florida locations this year, with Miami being in the works since February 2022. They offered free outdoor workouts from then until the end of September for people who signed up for an early bird membership, so my spring and summer fitness were shaped by them. They have a covered concrete courtyard right outside of their now opened studio, where they set up workout stations with dumbbells, resistance bands, kettlebells, medicine balls, even assault bikes. They had workouts in Margaret Pace Park nearby on some days as well. They offered so many workouts, in the evenings on weekdays and in the morning on weekends, that there was no way you could say you can't make it. The same flexibility applies to their studio schedule. I've been going to their 6:15 am weekday workouts, which are perfect for my work schedule, and their weekend workouts at 9 am and 10:15 am. They even have a 5 am workout for the crazies and evening workouts running to 7:30 pm. So what makes this gym different from the countless other ones, you ask? I can give you three reasons. 1. The workouts are intense. I won't sugarcoat it. You will do a certain number of burpees every time you're there. Some may even be during the warmup. It's not the only thing you'll do because you'll do a lot of things. You'll lift, push, pull, thrust, jump/step, and do it again. What I think creates the intensity is that after the warmup, the trainer shows you all of the movements in each station, but they'll tell you to do a round of body weight movements in between explanations of each station. You may watch the trainer demonstrate a side step over a riser, then tell you to do some skaters right afterwards. So you're warmed up, then stay very warm as you're being told what to do in each station. Then you get to do the workout, then a finisher. A finisher?! Yes, 2-3 minutes of core work, squat jumps and holds or other body cardio. I promise all of this work has its benefits. I know I started lifting heavier weights with them because there straight up weren't enough lighter weights available. But that and the repetition of the rounds helped me get stronger and support my losing weight, despite the degenerate eating and drinking I do as a Yelper. 2. The trainers are organized, knowledgeable, attentive and motivating. I've worked out with Coaches Wanderson and Kevin at other gyms and have seen how meticulous they are with regards to technique and attention to clients to make sure they have the correct form and aren't risking injury. Coaches Shay and Phil are also energetic, fun and really helpful. I forget where I am and crack up when I see Shay twerking. 3. The gym has been working really hard to create a sense of community amongst its members. Every workout includes reminders to high five your station mates when you've finished the round or workout, and they've organized several social events to get members and trainers to bond outside of the gym. (Phil's birthday at The Sylvester was one for the books!) The staff send personal texts for promotions and events encouraging people to continue coming and be involved. I would totally have an unlimited membership here if I lived in the Edgewater/Wynwood area! I'll just have to deal with getting a package to use here and there. They offer a 7 day free trial that you don't have to use in one week! Try them out!

I always got a great workout in every session. I also enjoyed that he offered 5am classes and additional boxing classes on Wednesdays. I started off paying a promotional package of $497 a month which never changed. This package included fat body analysis, Monday-Friday classes and occasional Saturday classes, a meal plan and all the extra things which i never really saw or experienced. I loved the women in the group and became very close to some of the women there. What i do not like about this gym - -First off, Lance is unprofessional. The last two conversations we had he literally was arguing with me. He pretty much disrespected me when i voiced my opinion. It is not okay for him to disrespect his clients at all. He makes excuses about everything and if he needs to take a day off and close the gym, he expects his clients to adjust on his time not theirs. For example, He is taking two days off next week and expects his clients to adjust on a Saturday. Saturdays are already included in my "VIP Package" and Saturdays are not convenient for me in the first place. If I do not show up on Saturday I pretty much lose out on my prepaid session. When this was brought to his attention, he became very defensive and pretty much told me he doesn't even need to give me an explanation and that he can just tell me the gym is closed. He was extremely rude to me and argumentative. -For paying 500 a month the equipment at his gym is falling apart. 2 out of the 5 treadmills work. The rower does not work. The mats are crumbling to pieces. The spinning bikes are old. The weight machines are old and outdated.The monthly memberships are not cheap. You would think that the condition of the equipment would be better than it is. - He was usually late. My sessions started at 5:00 AM. He always showed up at least 5 minutes late. There were several times where he overslept and would be 20 minutes late and tell us to run a mile around the building. I never said anything because, I understand that things happen however, he would give his 6am clients a hard time about being late. Again, very unprofessional. If a client is late they are losing out on the session, not you. I sent him a courtesy text once that I was not going to class because, i felt sick and he made the other member adjust because he was not going to show up to the gym with only one person being there (mind you, these classes are already prepaid). She actually asked me not to send him anymore messages if i decided to miss a session so he would not adjust her time again. - He never did a fat body analysis that was included in my package. I never pushed for it but, if you include something in a package you should follow through with it. - Lastly, In the end of October I ended up getting sick with COVID and I told him I would return to the gym when I was better. I lost out on the last week of October. He still expected me to pay for the month of November even knowing I was not going to be there due to Covid. Out of respect for his 30 day policy, I told him I would pay and give him my 30 day notice (although he never enforced this from the first day I started the gym). I lost out on 2 weeks and decided I would not return to his gym anymore after he was rude to me after I sent him payment. I do not appreciate the way he spoke to me and he was very disrespectful to me. I was a member of this gym since June 2021 and since I have started 7 women discontinued their memberships. One of them actually stopped going because he was also rude to her. I did not deserve this and I feel like an idiot for even paying him the month. I respectfully asked him to refund my money for November because, I did not deserve to be disrespected and he ignored my messages and has not refunded my money. I pretty much gave him 500.00 for November. I appreciate honest Reviews and hopefully this review will improve this business and help others in deciding whether they want to become a member.

Classes are taught to be simple enough for beginners to join but challenging enough for advanced athletes. As a result, every type of person walks through the doors here - age, gender, race, identity - and they're all welcomed in. It takes me 30 minutes one way to get here. On that drive, I think of how many studios I pass - many of which I've tried but none of which have stuck for me. I gladly do that drive up to 5 times a week because the community here is simply unmatched. The place has two different entrances, the GPS usually takes you to the back entrance where you have to walk through a hall to get here but they have signs all over so pretty easy to get there. Parking is available all around the building. The class was a good combination of weights and body exercises. We didn't use the punching bags but they have other classes that do incorporate boxing. The coach was good showing the exercises, everyone seemed to be familiar with the moves so there was no need to explain a lot which worked fine with me. There is one main room with the punching bag area and another area for weights and machines with a turf in the middle. I would like to go back to try other classes.

(Trust me! I've been to quite a few boxing classes all over Miami) 2) Instructor Frands was excellent! The perfect combo of coach who pushes, encourager, someone who cares and is passionate while also professional and funny! Also his knowledge is next level yet he maintains such a humility and grace when teaching. I learned SO much in just 1 class, he never made me feel silly for not knowing - I was actually encouraged to keep asking questions so I can enhance my stance, hand posture and body moments. If anything, I was slightly annoyed that other gyms didn't give the same attention to my movements, meaning I've been doing some things wrong for a couple weeks that could've been corrected if they had the same dedication to teaching true boxing. 3) The community was so kind, being my first time there others were helping me set up (not just at the beginning but throughout the entire class ), talking and laughing with me! There was a kindness that is usually cold in other gyms. as the newbie you tend to come in, and no one even acknowledges you. Not here! 4) The gym itself has a good flow and layout, quality equipment, it's clean and has everything you need to box, lift or grapple! Also I lost one of my wraps, but they had for purchase for $10! But be sure to bring your own gloves! 5) Almost forgot to mention, very key - there is ample parking! Huge props to the owners for the gem you've created in the heart of Miami! Can't wait to come back!
