A few people were fishing off the nearby pier, and others were strolling by, but overall, it was wonderfully quiet. It's the kind of spot you'd easily drive past without noticing--and honestly, I hope it stays that way. There's nothing quite like a peaceful, quiet park to clear your head.

The area is stocked several times a year but that doesn't mean it's any easier...on this particular occasion I did well but there have been some other times where well my son did better. The Society was founded in March 1932 and is the oldest exclusively model railroad club in the United States. They maintain 2,500 square feet of model railroad displays of steam and diesel freight and passenger trains and trolleys, plus so much more. It was fun to see all the parts of the display - it really gives you a glimpse into the history of railroading. It is not easy to find, as the doorway is tucked into the left front center of the building and the society is located on the third floor with no elevator. The display is normally open on the second Sunday of each month, except May.

They had more rides than meets the eye, but the space and food options were noticeably far less. But unlike MoCo's $20, parking is free. And they kept it PG and had a live go-go band... gotta love that! They are next to an equestrian center, so sometimes you can smell manure, but that's just nature haha. It was like $7 to get in as an adult, and the unlimited ride wristbands are better for individuals than tickets (if you like rides). It was only around for a weekend, so for anyone seeing this... well, you'll have to wait until next year haha. If you're around, definitely go. The free parking is a huge perk!

The quality and detail involved in the instruction here is superb - you feel like you're being given all of the information you need, from the basics to more complex properties of the helicopters. There was no point where I felt like the information was overwhelming or over-simplified: it seemed like the right mix of education and beginner's instruction. As for the flight, it's a blast! While I was far from talented at piloting the helicopter, I was given quite a lot of control over time, and I felt increasingly comfortable as time went on. I felt safe and monitored the entire time - even when a lot of wind blew the helicopter around, the instructor was available to make things right quickly and effortlessly. Needless to say, if you have the time and the money, give this place a shot!

He was very personable and knowledgeable. He pointed out various landmarks and places that we would be interested in seeing. We didn't get a chance to use them because Covid had shut the world down but I kept their number locked into my phone. Fast forward two years later and I had an emergency and Baron came to the rescue. At 9:45pm I got a call from my main bus company saying that one of their coaches broke down and they wouldn't have a third bus for a trip we were host the next morning. The first person I called was Claudine because she had given me her cell number two years earlier. I told her our problems and within 40 minutes she had a bus and a driver locked in for my trip Needless to say, this doesn't normaly happen so I was very thankful.
