I figure it would be fun to come check it out and see what they had to offer. Parking We came here around 5 ish since i think this event starts at 6pm. It was hard to find parking since there was only one giant parking lot nearby which is some sort of church or community center, not too sure. Since the lot was full we had to go on the side streets and look for parking. They had parking on the streets in front of the homes, but that was all filled too. I had made a few circles and luckily i found parking at a nearby church. It was a 5 min short walk to the parade. Event The parade started on time. They had different organization, fire dept, police dept, and different floats going on. The floats were ok, nothing like wow, but it was cool. A lot of people participated the walk and it was great to see the community come together as a whole for this show. Art show They had an art show going on at the same time when the parade was going on. They had various vendors selling all handmade crafts. Lots of jewelry, bags, ornaments, and clothing for sale. This is perfect for people who want to shop for one of a kind or unique items. Most items were expensive but it is worth it. Food They had a couple food trucks there. one of the food trucks was a coffee and tea truck, so if was perfect if you need some caffeine. They also had a fundraiser booth for a high school or college going on, who was making food and selling them too. We had early dinner so we didn't get any snacky. Prices were average to be $10 and up. A lot of the items were sold out within the first hour, so if your looking for something yummy, come here first then go to the parade. Overall it was a fun local event which maybe happens once a year in december. If you love food, art, and a free parade then its your kind of event. I had the absolute honor of attending the Lydgate Farms Kaua'i Chocolate tour during my first (but…read morecertainly not last) trip to Kaua'i with my mom. And let me tell you, it will not disappoint! It is absolutely a once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide Brooke was outstanding in teaching us all there was to learn about Kaua'i cacao beans, the fermentation process, incredible chocolate tasting notes, and other fruits and nuts that are unique to Kaua'i and Hawai'i. I am not a "chocolate person", and while I only attended this tour out of admiration for the cacao bean and chocolate making process, I must say Lydgate's chocolate is truly unique and worth the visit. It is unlike any other chocolate I have ever tasted. Lydgate Farms' other products-- honeys, chocolate covered macadamia nuts and chocolate covered coffee beans-- are incredible as well. My personal favorites were the honey roasted macadamia nuts and chocolate covered coffee beans, which I bought. In addition to the extraordinary tour (thank you Brooke!! Seriously, you are fantastic!!) and souvenirs we enjoyed, one of the more memorable parts of this whole experience was hitching a ride back to our hotel in Lihue from Lydgate's Marvelous Maintenance Guy, Mike. Mike saw me and my mom struggling to get a Lyft back and offered us a ride back. A journey that would have taken us 5 hours to walk became a precious 25 ish minute drive where we got to both share our stories about what led us to Kaua'i. Mike was so sweet, he made me and my mom feel so safe-- especially as two young women traveling by ourselves for the first time. It is welcoming and kind people like Mike who put the "ohana" in the "Lydgate Farms Ohana" name and make Kaua'i what it is. This was a beautiful experience, and I can only hope that I can visit again in my lifetime.

Our tour was led by Henry, who was equally knowledgeable as he was passionate about all of the plants & flowers. He clearly had a passion for chocolate and the mission to educate visitors. We were introduced to the cocoa trees (the process of growing and maintaining the orchards), vanilla vines, ginger plants, allspice trees, cherry and guava trees to name just a few. He informed us on what was edible from the trees. The "pit stops" were interactive, fun & most of all tasty. We got to sample a whole variety of exotic fruits from the farm & a wide range of chocolate during the chocolate tasting. I don't think I will ever be able to think of chocolate in the same way again. How lucky we are to have this farm working so hard to not only bring the craft of chocolate creation to more people but continuing to mindfully curate this bio-diverse plant sanctuary.

While it may be small in size, it is absolutely worth the visit. You can genuinely feel the pride and care that goes into the exhibits, the knowledge they share with guests, and their dedication to preserving Hawaiian history and nature. During our visit, we also purchased a bird book for my wife, which made for a really meaningful souvenir from our trip. Places like this deserve support, and we would definitely recommend stopping by while exploring the area. Help take care of history and the stories that come with it!
