Steve was the referred DJ by our venue, so of course we used him. Days leading up to the wedding he really hyped himself up on the phone & promised us he would make our wedding unforgettable, we did just the opposite. He told our videographer he has two different systems a "good system" & a "bad system ", well he had our entire ceremony hooked up to this "bad system " & none of our guests could hear the ceremony. Then during our speeches he handed us the microphone to the "bad system", we had to finally ask him half way through the maid of honor speech for the better working microphone that he uses because you couldn't hear anything & he was very hesitant to do so because he is scared of Covid. We just recently had to completely refilm the best man speech because we couldn't pick any of it up in our wedding video that's how bad this system is. Not only did all of this happen but every time a guest would request a song he told them it had to be approved by either the bride or groom & we never ever said that. We were requesting music & some of the songs had swearing & he said he couldn't play music like that because we had old people & kids at our wedding & it looks bad on the DJ, but it was never in the contract did it state that those are rules or guidelines. It our wedding, not yours. During our final dance he played the wrong version of the song & when I talked to him about it he said "I don't really know Justin Bieber songs" so wouldn't he have wanted to make sure he had the right version of the song before the wedding? The worst part is he knew about these issues & never reached out to apologize or try to make things right. I had to call him 3 weeks after our wedding & bring everything up to him. We had a 30 minute phone call & it was yelling back & forth. He told me "I have been a nightmare since the beginning " but I only talked to him 2 times before our wedding & I was never a nightmare. We practically had to beg him to make things right & he agreed to make things right but was more worried about a bad yelp review than making everything right. We had agreed to edit the yelp review my husband left & make it clear he was going to fix things once everything was fixed, well he told us "I could make things right & you won't edit that review, I just know you wont". Steve was also taken off of our venues referred vendors list & he blamed us for that because it just so happened it was after our wedding. He will talk up his game on the phone & then when it comes to how he performs he will let you down. But he informed me he was a Christian & will do whatever it takes to fix things because that's what a Christian man does, but he didn't do that at all. Well it came time to refilm everything & Steve emailed us "good faith" document saying we would not leave any bad reviews on yelp or Google or anything. I laughed, I'm not signing this document. This man did not care about making things right he just wanted the bad review gone. So Steve DID NOT correct his mistake & when I called him to tell him we were no longer going to need him to fix anything, he didn't even hesitate to say "Okay" he was totally fine for us paying for his mistakes. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE! I'm so glad Lotus House took him off the list of vendors so nobody else has to experience what we did.

Hector MC'd the reception and Mark was DJing the music (which I'm telling you, makes a difference, because they were in sync and therefore everything flowed much better rather than one person juggling everything at once) Because I did the wedding planning myself, Mark was kind enough to help me build my timeline and map out the reception space based on his suggestions. This took a ton of weight off my shoulders as far as planning went. Hector's smile/energy as an MC is also pretty contagious. He has a presence at the event when he makes announcements and prompts things to keep moving. He also checked on me and my partner throughout the night to help keep us up to speed. And let me tell you this: Mark and Hector were able to keep people (young and old) dancing throughout the night. They have a great "feel" for vibes and adapt to what's going on. PICTURES DON'T LIE. He came up to the groom and I to introduce himself while we were at the sweethearts table and told us to let him know if we need anything. He ran through our toasts with such ease. He got a little relief, as my husband's family surprised him with a Mariachi band. BUT as soon as they were gone Caleb got the party started! Everyone was INSTANTLY out on the dance floor and it stayed that way ALL NIGHT LONG! Everyone has been telling us that we had the best wedding every and I can't thank Caleb enough for giving us all the music vibes we were looking for!! The DJ (Ronnie) nearly ruined the wedding... He was rude to most everyone he spoke to, was…read moreapparently a last second backup, and was especially rude to the Bride. Icing on the cake was when he told her, " You have to keep everything together because people are looking at you all night and if you get upset about anything you will ruin the mood". He refused to let anyone request songs, stating we made a playset he had to follow, which was a lie. He was given a song list for key songs during the ceremony and our grand entrance though, but decided to deviate from that list for the song the Bride walked down the isle to. He didn't fade or blend the songs during the ceremony and chose to stop mid song and cut directly into the next one. The songs he did play made everyone walk away from the dance floor. We did we request country music during cocktail hour and during dinner, which he didn't play much of. He argued with the Made of Honor and other bridal party members and made me, the groom fill like we had to rush everything during the reception. So THANKS again RONNIE. I hope I never see you behind a DJ booth again!
