Words cannot express how truly happy my husband and I are with our wedding photos! From the moment I first spoke with McKenzi I knew she would act in our best interests to get the results we envisioned. McKenzi is amazing! She was our photographer for both our engagement shoot (Jan 2015) and our wedding (Sept 2015) and we could not have been any happier with the photos! She took the time to get to know us before suggesting locations for pictures to make sure that where we went would match our personalities. In general she is very responsive to email/text and is an open communicator- I like that she was open to any ideas for photos that we had during our sessions rather than taking the "I'm the photographer, I know best" approach. She worked so well with our timeline and was just extremely easy to work and coordinate with! We always felt comfortable working with her, it was never awkward. We would absolutely recommend her as a photographer! For our engagement shoot we went to Red Rock Canyon and hiked in about a mile to a beautiful area (she made sure we'd be okay with the hike ahead of time, of course!) and even though we only paid for an hour long session, we were not charged for the extra time driving in and hiking to and from the spot she recommended. A side note- McKenzi worked really well with our videographer making sure the lighting and positioning worked well for both of them. I appreciated that as I've been to wedding where this has not been the case. One reviewer said all the editing done was making some pictures black and white, but I'm not sure what else they were wanting? She does professional touch ups on the 'favorites' that you select from your album and I was very happy with everything we received from her. She was very prompt, even early, for all our meetings. I also did not find her to be short of ideas. She used the best poses for each setting and also has a 'go with the flow' mentality to see a lot of natural shots. One of the things that I value in a business is the level of personalized customer care that given to the consumer. And in the field of photography, I find that the attention to details here lies in the level of relationship created between the photographer and the client. I met McKenzi through a patient who said her teammate from Team in Training (TNT) who was having some IT/knee issues (side note: If you haven't heard of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society TNT check it out! I was quite impressed, so it was an easy decision to have her take some professional photos for my business. I was looking for a photographer who didn't take the classic headshot/business photo because I am an active person and we live in such a beautiful area so we should show it off! This is not to say she is unable to take these photos if that is what you are in need of, it is only to emphasize her creative and inventive nature. We started the photo shoot around the circle of Orange. She would have me stop by buildings, stair cases, and other objects/settings making the experience quite fun. I liked the fact that we were outside in our own little concrete jungle and her directing me to get the right shot. She was able to get me to loosen up in front of the camera and gave direction well. I don't like being photographed so her professionalism and her great personality made it quite easy. I really liked her eye for spots to shoot. as well. It really makes a difference when your photographer has a good eye! The day after the shoot was done I got an email with a link to the photos and was quite impressed. I think she was able to transform my non-photogenic self into a presentable professional, which is not an easy task! I liked all the different lighting techniques she used and her eye for angles and positions. I recommend McKenzi to all my patients, friends, and family. Regardless of the occasion, I am sure she has the skills to capture the memories! She has great character and is a good person on top of being a great photographer. There are a lot of people out there who take good photos, but its nice to know that your photographer is a good citizen as well. McKenzi was the photographer for my family photos. Needless to say, my 7-year old son adored her because she was not the "in your face say cheese" type of photographer, rather she shot on location with us giving him plenty of time to warm up to the idea.
