This was my fiancé and I's first time Christmas tree hunting together and Hladky's Tree Farm made it super simple and easy! They supply handsaws to use for free, along with rope to tie your tree down to your car. The man who helped us was extremely nice and even helped us figure out how to best load our tree into the car. The only downside is that they only take cash/check, but there are plenty of gas stations with ATMs within minutes. We'll definitely be going here again next year! read more

My new favorite place to get a tree! It's pure and simple u cut family tree farm. The main parking zone was adjacent to trees or you could walk a bit more if you felt like it. The area we looked in had so many beautiful trees all sizes and @$5-$8 a foot depending on what you cut. I recommend bringing a tape measure. They supplied us with a nice bow saw. We noticed others taking along a mat to lay on while you cut the stump of the tree. Might do that next year but it is one more thing you have to carry around. I recommend wearing warm clothes, gloves and hat. Also before you head out to cut a tree use your phone to take pictures of the different prices next to the types of trees. This way if you can't remember what a noble fir looks like you can refer back to your phone and not go over budget. It's easy to forget once your out there. They have the tree display at the same place you pick up your saw, each different variety has a sign and price per foot. Once you cut your tree you just carry it back to the place you started. They will shake of the old needles and give you twine to tie your tree to your car. I appreciate how they keep it simple and quick. Not a lot of extra hoopla. It's all about picking out a tree that fits your family. We will definitely return next year. read more

The perfect simple, "streamlined" Christmas tree cutting experience: that's what I was looking for when I needed to find a place to get our first Oregonian Christmas tree. There are lots of Christmas tree farms, and tree lots, of course, but this one was a perfect fit for us. We are all adults so we didn't really need the light displays, or craft shows, or the cocoa + cookies, or the tractor ride, or someone to cut the tree for us. We moved from Minnesota and all we wanted was what we had there: walk in, cut your tree, pay for it, and go. That is precisely what Hladky's Tree Farm is all about. Hladky's is a friendly, family owned and operated (for 50+ years!!) tree farm that will supply the saw, a 9' pole for measuring your prospective tree, and rope to tie it to the car. [Note: they can also bale your tree, but ours, a 9 footer, was too large for their machine.] They have examples of each kind of tree the grow up at the front (a plus for us, as we came from the land of fewer options) and someone explained the differences to us. If you're unsure, I'd recommend asking someone to show you the differences and maybe snap a photo with your phone. While you're at it, take some scenic shots too; it's a beautiful place. Depending on the variety of the tree, you will pay either $5 or $8 for each foot. At the time of our visit, there were also red tagged trees that were approx. 9' and they were a flat $35, so be sure to talk to someone up front about that. Oh, and Fido can come too -- dogs are allowed but they must be on leashes. We will definitely be returning year after year to get our tree from Hladky's. read more

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. I had the absolute worst experience of customer service in my entire life at this place. I wish this was an exaggeration, but none of this is. The owner was actually this outrageous. We went to three farms looking for a 12 ft + Noble. We were excited when we drove in and saw they had a large selection of tall Nobles. That's about where our excitement for the day ended. We drove in and were aggressively waved down and told we could not park in open parking and needed to go out into the field to park. We chopped down a 16 foot, 200-300 lb pound tree. There was five people in our group. We were dragging this huge tree, sweating trying to get the tree to the car. We finally make it to the check out area and set the tree down. We were exhausted from carrying this heavy tree from the entrance all the way back to the "store." It was at least 200 yards. The younger Bob measured the tree and cut off the dead parts for us. It was $110, which is fine because that's what we were expecting to pay. We wanted the tree shaken and bailed, but were told it was "too big," and they wouldn't do it. So one group in our party went to grab the truck from the field to load the tree after we paid. I was standing alone by the tree waiting. There was a cluster of cars leaving and some traffic backed up. Not our fault. Then the older man owner, Bob, comes up to me and *yells* at me to move the tree. I am a young woman and was absolutely shocked to be yelled at like that. I told him "I can't move the tree alone." He yelled again to move it *now*. I reiterated that I couldn't and needed help because the rest of my group wasn't with me. He the yells at "Stop giving me lip and move the goddamn tree." At this point my party hears him screaming at me and helped me move the tree. We then try and put this HEAVY tree on top our truck. Bob then comes over and screams at my party to move our truck. Telling us that we don't care about anyone but ourselves and we're in the way of other people (we were pulled on the side completely out of the way and NO ONE was coming). This whole thing ruined our entire day and family Christmas tradition. But he didn't let it go then. He continues to yell at another woman in our group about whether we had rope and screamed at us until we moved the truck, WITH THE TREE ON TOP AND NOT TIED DOWN. It was a huge danger and could have easily fallen off. It was barely on the top of the truck. He doesn't let it go there. He comes back at me to tell further about how I was wrong for not moving the tree earlier. I reiterated that I told him I could not lift the 300 lb tree on my own. He never offered to help or get me help. He just screamed at me. I was so upset and it ruined our entire day. He continues to yell at me and ask whether I paid him. We told him that unfortunately we did. I told him I was in no way trying to be combative but he was being so rude and absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. He never apologized. I asked him to leave us alone and just let us load the truck and leave. He hovered around us continuing to be rude to everyone in the party. He even told one person in our group that he was "maybe partially human." It was so ridiculous, unprofessional, inappropriate, and disrespectful. He wouldn't leave us alone, after we stressed that we were just trying to leave after paying their business $110 for a tree. He just yelled and hovered. Some of us were on the verge of tears from his persistent disrespect that felt sexist and directed at screaming at the young women. It go so bad he took his mask off his face to scream at me. He got in our faces without a mask on. I was shocked and am at high risk for covid. So much for "masks required" and social distance when the owner can't be bothered to follow his own rules. I then tell the young woman and younger Bob working about this behavior. This older man should NOT be working customer service. Their response? He is the owner and be patient because he can't hear. Well he heard me just fine to repeat back what I said to him while screaming in my face. Not being able to hear is no excuse for treating someone the way Bob treated us. If Scrouge ran a Christmas Tree Farm, it's this place. We will never go again. I am frankly shocked at his behavior. He ruined our day. We wish we brought business elsewhere, but we already paid at the point all of this happened. We are now stuck with the haunting memory of being treated as sub-human by the owner of this business whenever we look at our Christmas tree. I would highly recommend against this place, and have already directed friends and neighbors to go elsewhere. read more
