Gotta say - really not as great as we hoped for. Having been here before, we were looking forward to another tasty experience. Started out with cocktails, the HMD Uppercut and a Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned. Both were tasty and a thumbs up Apps were the Combo Basket and Onion Rings. Between the 2, the onion rings were the winner. Tasty, good portion and fried just right. The Combo Basket on the other hand was a big disappointment for $18.00 - 3 chicken tenders that were over-fried, 3 shrimp and 5 poppers. And you would think that since we order 2 apps, we wouldn't have been charged for a 3rd dipping sauce! Entrees were the HMD burger 8oz ordered medium rare. It was done more medium, but overall tasty. Patty Melt was very good, nice cheese and onion flavor. 1000 island dressing was great and the bread was a perfect grill. I used to go to Burger Station down the street but they closed not too long after covid so I was willing to try a new place. I remember when HMD was an old Irish pub but after they rebranded and improved the food I was willing to give it another try. For entrées we ordered the salmon, mash potatoes with broccoli and a HMD burger with seasoned fries. The salmon was cooked great but unfortunately it was not seasoned well. There was zero flavor. Broccoli was cooked perfect. And unfortunately the burger was not seasoned as well. It's beef so I need it to be seasoned before it's cooked. But it was cooked well, still juicy just no flavor. The only flavor was from the dressings. The seasoned fries were great, but as I ate them all I could think about was wishing that the seasoning from the fries was put on the burger prior to cooking it. Not sure if the food is under seasoned on a regular or if this was just a one off situation. Will revisit soon to test that theory. read more

My husband and I went to HMD today for lunch to try their burgers. I ordered the HMD burger, my husband ordered the cheeseburger, both medium rare, plus we shared an order of fries. Wow! The burgers did not disappoint! Every bite of those half pound burgers was juicy and flavorful, and we are picky about our burgers! The pork belly bacon on the HMD burger was also very good, but not something I would have to have on my burger every time. The next time I would just get a burger with the caramelized onions, those onions were that good. Since I do not care for mushrooms, I gave them to my husband and he enjoyed them on his burger. I thought the fresh cut fries were just ok. Their texture suggested they may have been re-fried. We probably should have sent them back. Service was wonderful. The waiter even explained to us where they get the beef for their burgers, from a locally known place, Whittingham Meats. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The area where we sat had a mixture of tables, a bar, and slot machines. It was fine since there were not too many customers at the time, but if it had been busier, we would have preferred to sit away from the bar and slots[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. But even though there were some things that were not the best, those burgers were so good and so reasonably priced, this establishment deserves the five star rating! Last week we ate at Gordon Ramsay's Burger, and these burgers were so much better, and for half the price! We will definitely return.
