They have a drop off spot on Beretania by Bo's Kitchen but the long term parking is in the back of the building. The back of the building is on Kinau Street and is in the 800 Mauka Plaza parking. There's a lot of parking back there. My daughter just finished up her second session at Art Tent Studios. She took the late class on Saturday for grades 1-3 with Mrs. Okano. At first we didn't know what to expect with art class. We didn't know anyone who attended art class here but we just wanted to try because my daughter loves art. It was such a good experience. Her teacher, Mrs Okano, is so creative with all their projects. Each week they were working on something new and interesting. My daughter was always excited to be going to art class. It's really nice that the class size is small and Mrs Okano is a great teacher. She's very patient with them and has them really explore their own creative side rather than each kid just make a copy of the teacher. At the end of the two sessions there was an art exhibition. We got to see all of the art work from all of the classes they offered. My daughter had about 6-7 projects that she completed. You could really see her growth from the first project to the last. We signed up for another session with Mrs Okano and can't wait to see what new things my daughter will be learning.

As mentioned, Mudd Studio offers wheel throwing and hand building workshops of various lengths (1 day, 3 day, etc.) They also offer studio membership. As a member, you have 24 hour access to the studio as well as use of the equipment, supplies, glazes, etc. My wife has never mentioned a negative thing about the place or people there - only that it is a positive, supportive and inspiring community. She struck the perfect balance between guidance and freedom, and I always felt supported. Between the two of us, we made four pieces: two cute little ice cream bowls, a pretty little green cup, and a small planter that I'm absolutely in love with. The class was fun, relaxed, and such a great way to connect--not only with each other, but also with the other classmates in our small group. Thank you Jackie K for one of the most creative class I've ever been and especially thinking doing this project would be difficult which isn't true as the only difficulty is deciding which colors strikes your joy. Kraft Stories is located in downtown and is a tiny shop filled with various items you make and take with you is just unbelievable as we came for our session I was taken back with all the samples of items they have classes for and a great way to show how some items can spark that creativity. Well what were we making...a Turkish Lamp a stunning way to light up your life with mosaic glass tiles where you create patterns by glueing them on and it was just so much fun. We start with a kit that has everything we need as I couldn't believe that it was all coming together right before my eyes. The staff was very very patient and helpful especially as we started getting frustrated with a particular part it was a nice break that she help us with it and not to mention that they have a mini fridge filled with drinks though they don't have a restroom there you need to go to the next building upstairs which was a slight inconvenience but was probably a nice break for my eyes lol. Would I recommend or do it again...in a heartbeat it was so much fun as I do love crafting and think how fun it would be to do it along side with a bunch of friends as I had fun seeing Jackie's creation blossoming and was all we can talk about after as the final step is to grout it ourselves at home so it all can shine even brighter as this class was just a super cool thing to do one of the most creative and fun and you get to keep it. I showed him the posts and he told me to sign him up right away. You have to register and pay online through their site. The Art and Tech Sunday Day Camp is perfect for our schedule. The hours are from 9AM-4PM. You can do full or half day. We need a little rest on Sunday's so the 1PM-4PM works out well for us. I'm glad I left a little earlier from Kaneohe to find their location. GPS takes you right there but there is on signage for OAT. I didn't know it was upstairs from all the restaurants. I called the number they have listed on yelp and they let us know to go up stairs. Two of the teachers greeted us at the door. They showed us around and explained what they were going to learn. His first art lesson was with Andy Lee. He is an artist for Marvel, Dragon Ball Z, etc. He was teaching Chinese brush strokes. My son jumped right in and started using the brush. After 2 hours of Art class he went to Tech class where he learned to make a vacuum out of a water bottle , card board and batteries. Yesterday day was his 2nd Sunday and he learned 3D pen art and how to construct a mini elevator/lift. He loves everything about OAT. They also give them a little time to play with big building blocks and robotic toys. He wants me to leave him there from 9AM-4PM so he can learn more. Maybe next session. I remember when Fishschool first started offering classes. There was one classroom, 5 buckets of…read moreglazes, one kiln room, and no sink, wheels, tools, and erratic air conditioning system. In spite of that, clay classes were great - some of the taught by the late, great Esther Nowell. Nowadays, it is as good as a large well organized ceramic school with wedging tables, slab roller, wheels, double sinks, and even more classes of varying subjects. The only drawback to this place is the parking situation - on the street - and sparse at that. It is an exciting clay studio with membership options. Fishcake houses the Fishschool and we go through the always dynamic and changing art displays on our way to class. Excellent food vendors take turns in the front with very delicious food during lunch. I am so proud at how far this little school has grown into a great option for people who want to learn and continue ceramics. I still take classes from them - the latest being Shisas with Dane Nakama. I built a huge one with hair and curly ques, fierce eyes and eyebrows. Love it!!!

Florals will be one of the more pricey items on your vendor list, but I promise that if you hire Posy Parties, you will be SO happy with the results. I spoke with a few other florists before deciding to book with Manu; not only was she extremely timely in her responses, but her prices were very reasonable in comparison, and our consultations couldn't have been easier. I spoke with Manu over the phone several times, and emailed her pictures of what I had envisioned. I actually NEVER personally met her, as I was so busy the day of the wedding that I never got to meet her! Manu went above and beyond everything that I could have imagined with the flowers... People kept complimenting our beautiful bouquets and asking who we used. She turned our concrete jungle ceremony site into a beautiful fairytale. Many of my other vendors had never even heard of Posy Parties. The garden has pottery pieces throughout which are art. Bonsai trees are blended in and art in itself. We try to make events of new upcoming island artists. I highly recommend making reservations in advance, as they can be pretty busy. A reservation also locks you in for at least 2 hours of painting time! Just give them a call, pay a small deposit, and book your time. Heads-up: they can be busy with customers during the day, so leave a voicemail and they get back to you pretty quickly! Since they are a small business, you may need to wait anywhere between 4-6 weeks for your pieces. Plan in advance to get them before you need them! The staff always makes sure we have a great time when we go.
