I want to support and encourage small local businesses when I'm passing through small American towns, but..... This is the worst "Chinese Food" I've ever had, frozen vegetables, soupy sauce, meat is questionable. Frozen broccoli....I literally had to throw it in the toilet in the hotel, it was so bad. Not vegetables in sauce. Soupy frozen vegetables. I think the locals eat here because there's not much else. Be prepared to be pay .50 cents extra, .10 cent extra here and there for everything that normally goes with the dish. It was $17 for one dish, I did not pay extra for the rice or fortune cookie. What a waste, and I love Chinese food. This is the worst food I've ever eaten and I've traveled all over the world eating at restaurants and never had something so bad. It's a pity, but honestly, don't waste your money or time, it took forever. read more

Food was good. I can see that this was a popular restaurant in the past when the elderly owners were running it.

This restaurant has degraded significantly. I've had 2 bad experiences back to back. I won't be supporting them no time soon. Customer service was horrible and the quality of food was even worse. This use to be my favorite restaurant. I usually order the egg foo Yung and house special rice but the last 2 times it has been horrible. read more

I am giving this a 4-star rating for uniqueness, as you will see below. We were driving west with three dogs in the car. Decided to stop in Forrest City for the night and found a motel that would accept us and our pack. Since it was too hot to leave the dogs in the car, and inconsiderate to others to leave them in the room, we had no choice but to have dinner in our room. A little research brought Ho Ho Chinese to our attention. A little more research showed they had an unusual dish, a St. Paul sandwich, and another, Potatoes and Beef. We couldn't resist. Turns out that take-out counter was rather chaotic. But only moderate patience was necessary to survive the bumbles. After the moderate delay, I emerged with some wonderful smelling food and hurried back to the room. The St. Paul Sandwich is an Egg Foo Young patty on a hamburger bun, with sandwich toppings such as lettuce, tomato, etc.. According to Wikipedia (yes, that Wiki, you can look it up), the St. Paul Sandwich is a regional specialty in St. Louis. Lucky for us it found its way to Arkansas. The patty was moist and tender with crisp edges. The bun was soft and fit the patty well. The combination was tasty, delightful, and totally unusual in most Chinese American restaurants. The Potatoes and Beef with, as the name implies, mostly potatoes with a generous amount of beef. It was covered in a rich beef gravy that didn't seem particularly Asian, but it was tasty, filling, and different. We really enjoyed our meal and were delighted to find an unusual. I strongly suggest you stop by and try a St. Paul Sandwich. You can't just find them everywhere. read more

I gave the restaurant a 3 star rating because it is a pretty average Chinese place. Nothing exceptional but not bad at all. I have to assume that the staff took the old reviews too heart and made changes. The restaurant is clean, my waitress was attentive and my food was cooked to order. This place was a mixed bag. I want to tell you the food was good, because some of it was. This is obviously primarily take out though. The restaurant itself is strange. When we arrived there was a buffet left over from lunch sitting out still. (Lunch buffet had been over for an hour). The tables weren't very clean either. They do have a neat little diner style bar you can sit at. The staff was fairly pleasant. The food itself was hit or miss. The crab rangoons are on point! They are soft, full of cheese, and they have green onions in them. The egg rolls are standard fare. I ordered beef Lo mein. It took a long time to come out and then it was really sweet. I understand dishes are open to interpretation based on the cook, but this was really sweet. My wife had sesame chicken and liked it well enough to bring the uncooked portion with her. The hot and sour soup she ordered was not as good. She didn't eat much of it at all. Which is crazy because my wife loves hot and sour soup. Overall this place would be ok for take out. I do not recommend dining in. And get crab rangoons for sure. read more

I love this place I have eaten here for years when traveling through Arkansas. The wonton soup is like no other I have had. The soup has snow peas, cabbage, onions, and large delicious wontons. The owner is very proud to tell you that they use fresh chicken broth they make themselves, not the canned stuff other places use. I always get the combo plates which come with main dish, ham fried rice, and an egg roll. The Kung pao chicken is one of my favorites. The chicken on a stick is a great appetizer. Give this little place a try you won't be disappointed. read more

I called in a to-go order here around 6pm. They told me it would be 20 minutes. So I waited 25, went to the restaurant, then waited another 25 to get my food. While there, the cooks in the back talked to customers more than the floor staff. Also, I saw their floor employees ignoring the phone while there was only one table seated in the restaurant. They were not reassuring or caring to the needs of their customers. If you expect quality service, this is most definitely not the place for you. However, if you're looking for good food, this is a good place to stop. read more

Difficult to say what I thought about the food as I didn't manage to get any. I walked in and the waitress shouts to me from across the room. I ask her about Take out which they claim to do and she shakes her head and says 'What???' I ask again and get the same rude response. My husband and I eat Chinese food often and this place was the worst by far. There was only one bar of food to choose from and the quality was terrible. The egg rolls appeared to be the frozen type you can purchase from a grocery store, the noodles were over cooked with way too much peanut oil, and the main dishes (all of 4) tasted way to similar. It was as if they blended the dishes because they didn't have the right seasonings for them. When I though the meal could be salvaged with soft serve ice cream in a cone, the mix was low and none would come out. Too top it off, it cost over $10 a person for lunch on a Wednesday. I assume anyone looking at Yelp Reviews for this place isn't from the area. Do yourself a favor and stay far away. The service here is awful. I watched the older lady who works the counter completely ignore a lady asking for packets of soy sauce. My order took forever. I assume the only reason they're still in business that this is only Chinese food in the area. The food is bad. It's much too greasy. The noodles are way over cooked. The vegetables are never fresh and the texture of the meat is weird. If you're thinking of ordering a fried chicken dish, don't bother. The sesame chicken, orange chicken, General Tao chicken etc all come in the same terrible sauce. I'm pretty sure the chicken in those dishes are prepackaged chicken nuggets. I watched the employees put food on the buffet well over than hour before the dinner buffet began. I'm sure this place is racking up a ton of health code violations.
