The team here was able to squeeze me in last minute for a bootfitting (I had an appointment earlier at another store in Teton Village who told me they didn't have the brands that would fit my feet). And after about 1 hour of heating the boot and molding it to accommodate my navicular, Will had set me up with an awesome pair of Salomon BOA ski boots that are arguably the best-fitting shoes I own. What a delight these boots were on the slopes last week: Zero foot pain. Will even made great sock recommendations that ensured dryness and comfort. I couldn't be happier with my new ski boots, and it was all thanks to Will. Next, I needed new ski goggles, and Ali at the front was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. She recognized that a low bridge fit might be more suitable for my face. Ali definitely came through, and these made a huge difference last week with the snow storms, as the ability to easily swap out lenses magnetically on my Smith goggles ensured the best visibility. I was so impressed with the team here at JHS and made a few more trips back to the shop throughout my week in Jackson Hole. Everyone there was incredibly professional providing great service, and the store stocks the best brands and the quality of their goods was world-class.

A planetarium also at the top - a cool touch BUT - what is inexcusable is the absolutely atrocious Soundsystem in what is a unique setting... why would you have such a spectacular venue and then a sub-par sound system? (Kind of like the restaurant) so close to being remarkable but then a cheap shortcut is taken. The speakers and amplifiers are clearly second tier, and the placement not thought through - the sound is muddy and loud. This could be one of the most extraordinary venues but instead it settles for "good enough".... Come-on now .....

Cody replaced my strap and noticed my binding placements were unbalanced and had a few suggestions. After having me step in to them to take a look, he centered my bindings. All this for a $5 part. They clearly care about snowboarding and want people to have a good time on the mountain. My sister was looking to demo the Burton step on bindings and he talked us through it too. I think we'll hold off on those but because of his obvious enthusiasm we chatted further and got recommendations for new boards. We'll definitely be back!

What didn't help was that I came here in November so there were Christmas things for sale already and I love good Christmas decorations. The store is also fairly large so you can roam and take a look at a lot of different things. There are also quite a few entrances/exits, which seemed odd for shoplifting reasons but I appreciated being able to walk out onto a different side of the street. I will say that stuff was super pricey in here, but if it is mostly hand made by artists, I understand. I also live in an overpriced tourist city, so I understand the mark up. I will say that I thought the staff was a bit aloof. Like they didn't care to answer any questions or make any conversation, or even say hello. That was fine. I like being left alone when I shop anyway. Aloof is fine but rudeness isn't. When we left one of the employees was super rude and slammed the door on us (someone else had left it open and she thought it was us so she said something and slammed the door) so that left a bad taste in my mouth but I will say this store is still pretty cute and I'd come back.

Love Hoback! Rented and eventually bought a sweet pair of Atomic Bentchetlers from them, but that's beside the point. It's the people who make the place, and everyone I've dealt with -- Ethan, Peter, etc, etc, etc -- have been great! They know their stuff when it comes to the ski equipment and helped me have a great ski season, despite the lack of snow. (Gonna need you guys to fix that for next year.) The shop is definitely top-notch. The staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to skiing and boot fitting. The prices are very reasonable and the presidents day sale was nice to have. We worked with Jay for most of the time. He was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the equipment.. Drove up there yesterday from Pinedale to buy new ski boots. Everyone there was amazing. The boot fitter was knowledgeable and very nice. I had contact with about 4 different people in the store and every single person could not have been any nicer. I now have a beautiful new pair of ski boots! It is in an area with a couple of restaurants, stores, gas, and public restrooms. Yelp said this store opened at 10am, but the day I went, it had opened at 9am, which would've been good to know, to beat out some of the crowds at the Jenny Lake boat shuttle. My husband and I rented hybrid bikes for 5 hours (you can rent it all day for a bit more $). Before we saw the rates, my husband would've liked to rent e-bikes, but they were practically twice the price of hybrid bikes. I think it was $98/per person for 5 hours for e-bikes and around $51/per person for hybrid?? We rode the bicycles in the parking lot and my husband realized his wasn't trued correctly, because the tire would get stuck, so he requested a bike change, and the employee was good about it. But don't they really check the bikes before? Helmets are provided, and there are small bags attached to the bikes so you can put the bike lock in there and maybe a snack bar and your phone. One of the zippered pockets on mine was broken though. There are also water bottle holders, for your water bottle (bring your own, as I saw the store only had one very dusty water bottle for sale). We rode to Jenny Lake, locked the bikes near the Jenny Lake visitors center at the bike rack, took the boat shuttle, did the Cascade Canyon trail hike (I think we were able to do 4 miles, too bad we didn't have more time!), before we had to head back to catch the boat shuttle and ride back to make the 5 hour cut off.
