Even though this hobby lobby is not the one I used to go to all the time (Lombard) and it's set up different it is clean and well stocked. Employees are friendly and store is clean. It's very hard to just go in for 1 thing like what I did as I needed just a little bottle of paint and of course the items you buy over and over again (like milk in a grocery store). Is always in the back so that you have to walk past a lot of things you don't need but catch your eye and you now want and convince your self you need. Probably a good thing I have a small house because there is a ton I need (want) at hobby lobby but don't have the space. read more

Easy to find location and HUGE store. Went in there looking for some things to paint and found some great items as well as some pretty metallic paint colors. I could have spent many hours in this store but I had to hold myself back and just stick to the crafts. Cashier asked me if anything else was on sale just in case anything didn't ring up correctly. :) read more

This place is absolutely awesome & five stars all around. First off the staff here & at all of the Hobby Lobby's are always very friendly. If you are looking for holiday decorations or any kind of tables or shelves for a wall or a corner this place is awesome. They have a great selections & some great prices. I have never seen a store with a better selection of Halloween or Christmas supplies. They also have a great selection of candles & they are reasonably priced. They also have some great posters & framed photos. I stumbled upon an isle which contained a bunch of framed Marvel & Star Wars photo & was impressed at how much awesome stuff they have here. Anytime I had a question for a staff member they wouldn't just point me to an isle they would walk me right to them item I was looking for. The place is always very clean too & so it the restroom. Overall the staff here is very friendly & the prices along with the selection is very good. This is my go to holiday store & I would definitely come here again. read more

Lately I've been going to Hobby Lobby in Elgin because, though not the closest one to me, I was more likely to be near that one than any other Hobby Lobby. Now that this Bloomingdale location has opened though I have another great location to go to! It just opened recently where the old Sports Authority used to be on Gary Avenue in Bloomingdale (across from Stratford Square Mall, near Lifetime Fitness, PetSmart , and Meijer for a location placer), so of course it is in tip-top order and quite clean (though they could use some new flower pots in front). Like any other Hobby Lobby, prices were about the same and there are constantly all sorts of sales going on. Lately I've been going in for yarn for a blanket I'm crocheting so I always use their 40% off coupon which makes it affordable for me ($3.87 a roll with coupon and tax at this location vs. the $6.48 it would be without the coupon). Hobby Lobby seriously seems to carry everything craft related: yarn, glass, fabric, needles, silly holiday decorations, fake flowers, paints, beads, and tons more! As I mentioned above, the store was well organized, smelled fresh, clean, and well stocked. I hope they keep that up as it gets some time under its belt. The employees that I encountered seemed pleasant. The woman who rung me up (I told myself not to forget her name and I have, I think it may've been Lauren...) was kind, asked me if I had found everything alright or had questions, smiley, no complaints. I love new credit card key pad things, no issues sliding cards, hitting buttons, or anything! Can't wait to go back, though. Didn't have much spare time to look around too too much at this location, but my mother (who had never gone to a Hobby Lobby before) was floored by the amount of neat merchandise there so she wants to go back for a look. I love Hobby Lobby stores. I love that they have Christian themed things like books, frames, and stickers, as well as always having really pretty crosses. They have wondeful decorative home stuff too! Mirrors, prints, candles, pillows. One of my favorite places to get lost for a while in. They also have a good section of kids crafts. Suncatchers, model cars, and all kids of drawing and painting sets. Any hobby people they have items for you from train set items and doll house pieces to paints and special art pens. Silk flowers and scrap booking! Good times in here. Only dowside is that every time I am here there seems to be 1 register open and even a short line can take 15 minutes. (which it did today) Also, if you have any questions the store seems to be empty of staff except that one register. read more

I used to shop here frequently but do not like coming because the cashiers are jerks. I had asked Gloria (cashier), if they do price matching on same products sold at other stores. She claimed "no we don't do ANY price matching". I said "then how come your website says you do some?" "NO we don't". After that awkwardness, she asks if I still want the item. I contacted the corporate office and they told me that they in fact DO price match but it must same item, in stock at local competition. What a bunch of idiots that work at this location...don't seem to know polices and have attitude problems. read more

OMG!!! Today a glorious day. I happened to be traveling through the Bourbanois area in Illinois when I passed by Hobby Lobby. My sister asked me to stop to look around, so we did. When I entered the establishment I wasn't looking for anything in particular, be it on my own accord, I stumbled upon a true gem. The Star Wars Mini Stirrer Popcorn Popper. That's right folks you heard it here first, this popper is the thing of dreams for any real Star Wars fan, and any individual who loves to work at their desk. This HL is right by my work. So when I am bored or have a lot of time on my hands during lunch I walk around the store looking for home decor deals. You can check their adds online and it will tell you whats on sale for the week. They have a rotating schedule. The employees are really nice and very helpful. I have to give a shout out to Susan who I usually see during my lunch hour working. I have been dying for this two-tier tray and they were sold out for a while. The warehouse didn't even have them. She put in a rain check for me so I could still get the sale price. I kept going in to check to see if it had came in and nothing. Today I went in to get some Fall stuff (on sale right now for anyone that cares LOL) and I saw the tray I wanted on the shelf. Susan caught me before I checked out and told me how my rain check ticket had been misplaced when she was on vacation but that she set aside a better built one because she know she would eventually see me. How sweet/awesome is that!? That is great customer service and commend her for being so thoughtful! See ya on my next lunch break adventure Hob Lob! read more

My experiences here have been very, very good. Most recently I went there to have a picture framed. They provided great input, were very accommodating, and it turned out wonderfully. Now I just wish the cashiers were all as helpful and friendly. Maybe one of them was just having a bad day. Still worthy of 5 stars overall, but the last impression is critical and I'll drop to 4 stars if there is another occurrence. read more

Love the store itself but my God, customer service manager - Carrie, needs A LOT of training in her customer service skills. Extremely rude and unprofessional. In today's world where customer service is so important she fails at it miserably. Every time I go there I hope that someone else will check me out but my luck always leads me to Carrie. I was buying burlap table runner and she refused to touch it because she claimed to be allergic. Fine, no problem. But when I didn't pick it immediately to her wishes she shoved the bag into me rudely. Another time she was listening to a private conversation of my mom and mine about receipt and made a snarky comment to me. Then I was trying to return stuff I didn't use for my wedding and she made a fuss about it. Rolling her eyes, was slow on purpose, left for 5 minutes to check the price (hello, you have computer and walkie talkie), and then questioned my intentions. One time she literally got into argument with me and didn't want to accept my coupon even though it was valid. Every time I am being treated like an intruder even though I am always polite and smiling. She makes me feel like I shouldn't be there and you know what? I think she is right. I will not be doing my shopping there. There is Michaels on Army Trail not even 5 minutes away and that is where I am going from now on for all my crafty needs. At least I am not being treated like piece of crap there. Whoever own that particular store, please send Carrie for training - she is not management material. read more
