I wanted to share my terrible experience at the Bartlett Home Depot store. I was in search for a new patio sliding door. I purchased a sliding door with built in blinds from Home Depot in Bartlett. Once after I had it installed by my installers, I come to find out that in Bartlett it is illegal to install a patio door with built in blinds. However Bartlett Home Depot never notified me that this is the case. Even they know my delivery address for the door is in Bartlett. No one ever told me at Home Depot I can not put in patio doors with blinds. I have now been trying to work with Home Depot in Bartlett to get this installed door replaced or fixed and everyone I have talked to at this Home Depot since has turned their backs on me. So my husband and I decided to go in to the store to see someone since we want to remodel our kitchen, however when we were looking around for countertops no one approached us, we even said Hi to 2 ladies that were restocking some samples by the countertop area. We asked a guy about it and he said that Kara, Katie, or someone called like that was supposed to help us so we looked and looked and nothing she never asked if we needed any help or anything so we just ended it up going somewhere where they would appreciate making business with us. I had been painting the inside of my house for a few weeks slowly. I usually get paint from the Home Depot's in South Elgin. I stopped at this Home Depot on the way home went to the paint counter gave them my order walked away for a moment came back and the paint was already done. I went home and applied it immediately woke up in the morning it looked awful. Dark spots and light spots everywhere. I repainted with the rest of the paint another coat and it looks terrible. I go back to the store he said he mixed it for one minute. I told him that wasn't long enough my wall looks terrible and he seemed he could really care less. I was walking out and I go to the service desk and asked to speak to the manager and what I got was well I'm the manager up here. I guess that's code for not wanting to be talking to the store manager. She was very dismissive and said she'll talk to him but I could really tell she could care less also. For a minute I thought maybe they were related and she was The kids mom who is working at the paint counter. anyway I'm in the parking lot A little angry not because of the mix paint but the careless attitude and he'll just keep doing it. I called Home Depot and they were very polite online and put me through to a warranty company. I have been shopping at Home Depot for decades. I even used to work for Home Depot. I have my veteran status on my IL drivers license. I have the Home Depot App on my phone which used to have a QR code to scan to verify at self checkout that I am a veteran. They have updated their app and I am no longer verified to be a veteran. I filled out the form on their app which uses SheerID to verify. It was unable to verify my veteran status. Checking out today the cashier rand everything up but would not use my IL drivers license to verify my veteran status and sent me to customer service. It was not until I asked to see a manager that the customer service person offered to give me the veteran discount. I spent over 20 minutes trying to check out with a purchase over $100 on my Home Depot credit card. You need to do something before alienating the military veterans and they start going to Lowe's for their 10% discount. read more

No one wants to be there, no help. Anyone who does do any work at all, acts like it's the worst day of their life, helping you. You could ask for a specific paint, give them a code, picture of the code sticker, and still get the wrong g one after they mix it. I did, had to leave it on the counter, and went to Walmart for it. My husband and I went on a Sunday to get some smalls, and we were literally followed through the store by 2 employees, like we were going to steal of something... then there's the aggressive and obnoxious solicitors trying to get you to buy solar panels. We were there at 6:15pm, the store closes at 8pm. Every aisle we walked into, someone came after we left it and started putting up the gates to block the aisle. They are absolutely the WORST home improvement store I have ever been to. We have a personal and pro account, and we would rather go to lowes. read more

Was VERY IMPRESSED - went in here the morning of Black Friday 2013: - donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate immediately as you walked in the door. This was a very nice gesture. It was cool to see people walking around with coffees in their hand while they shopped. - staff seemed very upbeat and friendly - perhaps it was coincidence, perhaps it was the joy of Christmas spirit. Either way, they all seemed very nice and ready to help. - Store seemed more than adequately staffed. Staff was waiting to direct you into open check-out lanes and many other staff were actually wandering around offering to help patrons. Very pleased. - HIGH QUALITY POINSETTIAS. Most are 99cents (you can't get them this cheap, for this quality - ANYWHERE). The store usually stocks 2-3,000 of them on this day, and by the time we got there at 8:30 am, over 800 were gone. People were loading these up by the cartful (limit 12 per customer). Again, I must stress these are QUALITY poinsettias - many times ours have lived as late as into May or even June!. Was very pleased how the store handled themselves for this day in particular. Store wasn't overly packed, but everything seemed to flow very smoothly from the moment you walked in the doors. Staff was abundant, organized, and seemed ready to help anybody anywhere. A+ hands down. read more

I ordered a storm door in October since I was told it would be completed by Thanksgiving. I thought it would be ideal to protect my new front door from the elements of winter weather. It is now 12/19 and still no confirmed appointment with much frustration in between! The time I've spent following-up with them has seriously cost me more than the door itself considering I've taken unnecessary time off, especially during the holiday season when I could've spent it with family! I keep hearing January dates tossed around for an install date and I refuse to cave and settle, so I have escalated the matter to Richard Goodrich, their regional VP. As much as I prefer for the local store to find resolution in the matter, I have lost faith in their ability to make it right. How can I trust Home Depot for more extensive projects when a simple storm door has become a bigger project than my recent kitchen remodel?! I love my local Home Depot Store. I can always find everything I need under one rooffor things I am working on around the house. The store is always clean, everything is well organized, and the staff is very friendly and always willing to help if you have questions. The last big project I worked on was in my basement. I built a Polynesian Tiki Bar complete with tiki statues, bamboos, mattings....the works. (see picture). I've never really worked on a big carpentry project like this before, so the first step was to go to Home Depot to purchase the tools and most of the supplies that I would need. Also, as I am building a Bar from Scratch, I was sure to utilize the staff's expertise by asking them questions on the right tools and supplies. The staff I talked to were very helpful and even suggested purchasing bamboos from their garden department that might add a touch of authenticity to my tiki bar. I didn't know Home Depot sold Bamboos, so I was really glad to have purchase it here as opposed to purchasing the bamboos online and paying for expensive shipping. I ended up purchasing most of the supplies for my Wickedly awesome Tiki Bar at Home Depot (see picture), and I could not have done this project without the help of the friendly staff. read more

This is our to to home improvement store since it is so close to our house. I find that they are either completely spot on or off. The are times when we get so much help and other times where we can't even find an employee for help. We stopped in today to look at some tile when a younger gentleman came up to my husband and myself and says " guess what I'm going to ask you?" It was a little awkward. he looked like one of the people that want to sign you up for the free kitchen sweepstakes that are occasionally there. I told him we didn't want to sign up for anything when he continued to go up to my husband and tell him that he would paint cars on our bathroom walls and then Told him that we were a part of the Lou mattani club ( um what?.) I'm 50/50 on this place. I've done major house work myself and I have dealt with a number of hardware stores and for paint this is my go to location. I will always go here for my painting needs. There is a lady who works at the paint counter, I wish I recalled her name, but she is a gem! So sweet, we talked about our kitchen, she was delightful. Very helpful gal! She got me what I needed and was lovely. 5 stars for this lady! Now as far as ordering larger appliances that they don't have in stock for you to bring home yourself, this place is a miss for me. They have decent pricing compared to other places and it's competitively priced. However, who they use for the delivery and installation isn't home Depot. It's another company. And they suck! They don't know what they are doing. They also don't tell you everything you need to know so expect if you have an issue with an installation that they will have to come back again and maybe even a 3rd time to get the job done. Leaving important information out so you're stuck just dealing with another service call to your house. It's just unacceptable. In future if I do purchase anything I'd make sure it's in stock and rent a truck my self or I'd order online and see if it could be delivered to my home and have some one else install it if you cannot do it yourself. 0 stars for their deliver and installation crew! I told another associate that I needed the concrete loaded and was ignored. 15 min later the same associate came up with a door and acted annoyed with me. I had an outstanding experience with Home Depot, particularly with two employees: We recently had countertops installed from Home Depot, and after the installation, I went back to Home Depot to purchase hardware for the sink. At the store, I discovered that we had an issue with the sink installation (changing it from a double drain w/disposal to single drain). This issue could have potentially cost us hundreds of dollars - to have the counters recut the countertops, or to have plumbing done by the contractors. However, Barb began helping me, calling the contractors, getting additional opinions, and seeking out cost estimates. She was so helpful and friendly; she made a potentially stressful experience much easier to handle. Barb sought the help of Jerry, one of the store associates and a licensed plumber. Barb & Jerry went out of their way to resolve our problem in a cost-effective and efficient manner. We will definitely continue to visit the Home Depot for our home improvement needs! read more

Needed low voltage landscape lighting that you didn't have and said could order it but it would cost me 35.00for shipping so sadly like to do business in my town but at a saving of 42.00 Amazon price cheaper by 2.00 and no 35.00 shipping charge and we wonder why brick and mortar stores are closing! Was in the Bartlett store recently and witnessed 2 female employees giving an older gentleman a hard time as he was returning some items. Why was this necessary ? Can't people just go about their jobs with a sense of professionalism and pride ? Guess not. Political agenda's must super-cede actually doing the job.
