There are ridiculously long lines in this store... which would be bad enough but the manager stands in the front talking the whole time and ignoring the problem. They are probably paying that guy very good money to do absolutely nothing. There were easily over 100 people in all the lines when I was there and he checked out ONE customer. He sent another associate to go clean. (?) With an open register. Save some money Hobby Lobby and get rid of that manager that doesn't do any work. Check out line is always a mile long. They call additional cashiers to come to the registers but they are slow as molasses getting there. Air conditioning in east haven store has been out for about. A Month now . I won't be back. read more

Hobby Lobby, the Disney World of trinkets! Love walking around and seeing all the decor and crafting supplies. Gets my creative juices flowing, then I realize I have no time to craft, so sad, some day.... I do miss the days of friendly customer service. Used to always be greeted with a hello upon entering and throughout the store, a gimmick for lose prevention. Not seeing that anymore, most staff don't even make eye contact. Still visit often to gather stuff for school projects, gifts and whatever cute stuff jumps out at me. read more

Whenever I want to put something decorative & inexpensive on the front of my house, I go look in Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby always has everything on deep discounts. Today, I found this cute sign to hang inside my front door, and a wreath with fake green leaves. I bought fake purple flowers to wrap around the wreath.... and here you have it. Yesterday was the first time I visited a hobby lobby store. I was utterly amazed. Stephanie H said it is the Disney World of trinkets. There was a wonderful array of wall decor, and items to make your house a home. I was delighted to see something for everyone. If you're decorating kids room, a man cave, looking for inspirational and/or Christian wall decor items, this is the place for you!! Another customer in line with me said that you've gotta keep abreast when they have sales, you can get quality items at a greater savings. Other yelpers have commented that the lines are long. That was true. There were several people ahead of me when I got online, but as has already been said once they knew that, they opened up an additional line. The young gentleman who checked me out, was funny, polite, kind, and made me feel like a cherished customer, and he invited me to come back again. All in all, it was a fabulous experience. It's good to know that you can come to a place where you can decorate any room in your house, purchase linens, and bedding, art, supplies, crafts, frames, and all at a reasonable prices. Now that many Joann fabric stores are closing, this is a place you can go to get many of those items that they have typically carried. read more

In terms of the hobby lobbies I've been to this one is kind of chaotic. It has all of the essential hobby lobby items (home decor, floral stuff, Jesus things, kid crap) so it satisfies my craving for hobby lobby fine enough. It just feels kind of disorganized and confusing in terms of how it is set up. The consistent two issues I have with any hobby lobby are the fact that they are closed on Sundays (I know that wont change ugh) and the out of control chaos that happens whenever someone returns something. I feel like for whatever reason I always end up behind someone with some incredibly complicated return and it feels like it takes between 6-7 hours to remedy whatever issue is going on. If you see anyone starting a return just make sure you run the other way and check out in any other line that is available. Other than those two issues I enjoy shopping here. read more

This Hobby Lobby was my first Hobby Lobby experience. Let me tell you, I'm hooked. There's pretty much everything you need for crafts, home decor, and so much more. I knocked off two stars because some of the items were so crammed on the shelves I was too afraid to move anything. Another reason was because some things were labeled as being on sale but didn't ring up that way. I didn't noticed until I got in the car and inspected my receipt. If I wasn't rushed I would have gone back in to deal with it, but honestly, the cashier that rang me out was very disinterested. I didn't want to deal with that whole conversation so I left. Still, floral is priced better than some other places. Decor is great as is it used to get creative. I recommend triple checking the signs and tags and your receipt, though. read more

Great place to find home decor, seasonal items and art supplies. It could be better staffed at times but whenever there is a line they are quick to open another register. Honestly if it weren't for the occasional customer that insists an item was $2.19 instead of $2.29 we would probably all get in and out quicker. What is it about arts and crafts stores that attract there people? Anyways, the staff is friendly and helpful and the store easy to navigate. Always leave with something new! read more

Pretty large store comparable to rivals like Michael's. Store is super clean, well stocked and easy to find whatever you are looking for. Prices are so-so... I think some of the other craft stores have better prices on certain things. I like that the store has a relaxing atmosphere, music is played softly, although is of the Christian type. Just purchased some fabric that was supposed to be 66% off. The supervisor very confidently was teaching 2 new employees how to cut the fabric ( with quite dull scissors) and then how to do the math for the discount. Instead of writing $7.99-66%=$3.19, she wrote= $5.99. This can be an honest mistake not carrying out the whole equation but she is training and should know better. This is why they should come to the 21st century and use a code reader that does the math automatically and not rely on people knowing how to do math. When I told the lady at the register she immediately recognized the math error and felt embarrassed that her supervisor made a simple mistake. When you think about the fact that they always do the math by hand at the cutting counter, they should be masters at this. I saw a lot of older shoppers today that rely on them doing their job. I worry about how many people are over paying because the store is not using current and accurate technology. read more

Hobby Lobby is a creative person's "Paradise!" All of the merchandise is carefully displayed, I mean with true love and care. You may not ever find merchandise discarded or negligently displaced on the floor. The company's integrity is high. On my visit I shopped for 8 hours. I found everything I was looking for in one place! You know how you will be shopping to buy candles and other stores may not sell the size you need, the fragrance, the jar or holder, the color, the style, the ingredients, the wick, or the kit you may need? Well, Hobby Lobby sells everything you'll want & need from A to Z! Their employees were knowledgeable on where to find merchandise in the store as well as merchandise that was on sale and the merchandise that was not on sale. I was totally impressed! Great place to shop for those knick knacks you want for the home decor. Was very surprised to see different themes that would really appeal to me. Four stars instead of five for two reasons: prices on some items are a little high and they aren't open on Sundays. This store is the nearest for us, but it's 45 minutes away. Only have the weekends to shop at stores that address that distance. All in all though, we will return, as I said there are a lot of nice things that would be perfect in my room! Did notice one other issue, all the carts were gone when we came in, mid afternoon. Had seen plenty in the parking lot but thought they would have some in the store available. They did not, which was understandable if they don't retrieve them from the parking area. But lowered this one more star because there were associates walking around with carts that I would have thought were for customers. They should invest in separate carts to restock supplies or ensure there are plenty available for shoppers who want to purchase items. read more

Great selection of educational toys for kids. If your into building models or just want to get away from the typical mindless toys for your kids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, etc, then this store has great hobby toys among many other items. The only negatives are...much of the inventory here is made in China, and wayyyyyy understaffed. read more

OMG! I could spend HOURS in this store! Never knew what type of store it was until going in looking for modeling clay for my stepdaughters school project. They have a HUGE selection of all kinds of crafts. From paper to paint, sewing to frames, jewelry to home decor, the aisles just go on and on! This place is absolutely terrible. The staff is surly/hostile. The lay-out is poor and (as noted in other reviews) it is next to impossible to figure out what everything costs. Last time I went there the front part of the store smelled like urine. Go to Michael's in Guilford instead. Much better option. read more

I can't hop on the Hobby Lobby train. This store is just too large and has too much going on. There are some cute things, but by the time I go through the store I have a cart full of stuff that I kind of like. The pricing is outrageous on most items, especially when you can walk to TJ Maxx in literally the same parking lot and get the same thing for half the price. Their sales are odd, their coupons are all over the place, and the prices are unimpressive. It's like the Christmas Tree Shop and Home Goods threw up and they jacked the prices up and threw in some random coupons and sale signs that don't apply to anything in the store. read more

I love hobby lobby. As an educator, I am able to find many of the supplies I need for my classroom there and the 40% off coupon is always nice! I went there recently and one of the workers-Kashuan (I believe that was his name) was incredibly sweet and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure my question was answered. I was "hired" by Hobby Lobby at a hiring event, when I later showed up to work, the manager had no idea who i was. He then asked me to fill out another application (I already filled out 2, because they lost my first one!) He never got back to me. I've contacted the company several times and nobody has any answers. I beg my wife to please not shop there, and anyone else I know. I'm spreading the word, I hope they go out of business. read more
