Not sure why this place is the lowest rated hobby lobby when it comes to reviews in Colorado. It was great for me. Very nice staff. Everything was clean and orderly. Pretty great sales on top of that with products I would never expect a religious place to have. They got Pokémon stuff guys like the same Pokémon that has evolution. They got video game stuff, Mario, link, other game characters. The big thing they have that blows my mind is they have Gundam model kits. Like full blown grades. This trip was so disappointing. I walked up front to see if someone could help me locate the larger dollhouse kits-understanding they might not be available due to down-sizing their stock, and the employees were not very helpful. They didn't even know where the aisle was and only offered to find more information for me after I'd walked up and down the entire store. They said that they might be against the back or somewhere else, but they aren't sure. I would understand if they were out or if they didn't know, but it seemed like no one was present that knew the layout of the store. Are managers a thing anymore? Tina is absolutely unprofessional on every level. I went to the store today with my disabled daughter. I could not afford something and I asked them to put it back because it was on the sale aisle. She said it's already cheap. I don't know why she isn't buying it when I spoke up and said how rude instead of apologizing and being a professional and saying, we shouldn't have said that her or her employee! The customer service at this location is atrocious. You're supposed to be a faith based company and should be ashamed with the people you hire who have no inkling of what customer service is. Your sales associate in fabric had an attitude because she had to help cut fabric when no one else was around. I told her to not to cut the fabric that I wanted to go another route. Tina, apparently a manager, was incredibly rude while I was asking her a very simple question. She talked over me, wouldn't let me get the question out, and had an attitude from the moment I opened my mouth. She had such a poor demeanor, I emptied my cart and left the store. When I attempted to tell the floor manager about Tina's attitude on the way out of the store, she just smirked and gave a very weak "sorry about that". Poor customer service all around. This place is horrible, worst Hobby Lobby in the area. I was denied a purchase that was in the clearance aisle because it was marked incorrectly. The manager Norma told me "I could pay full price or leave her store." Now normally I understand it is what it is, but these people were extremely rude to me. The lady that was standing at the door, made a really rude comment saying "You were so nice when you came in but you just must be soft spoken." You do not treat people like that in any manner. A few days later I went to another Hobby Lobby and said item was in fact on clearance. Hubs and I like this store. I did not know until the day we went there right after the Wal-Mart "nightmare". My oh my, I am so mesmerized on what they sell and have in this HOBBY LOBBY. All things look "shiny", brand new, clean and well organized. It reminds me of a similar store franchise back in Singapore called "POPULAR" in some ways and in different ways. I never knew that Hubs like "GLITTER" letterings since that is what he purchased for another of his Skateboard, that he needs to put some letterings on it. We would definitely return to this store or hope that some other HOBBY LOBBY can be as nice as this. One minus point is that, there is only 1 check out line available when we were there on Wednesday March 17th 2010. i actually love this hobby lobby and i have been a regular customer for three years. i understand the controversy but i always find what i need. the staff is so kind and incredible and they always stock on mondays so i know when to stop by to get what i need. every other week they run sales on the yarn for 30% off which is so amazing and the jewelry section has rotating sales of 50% off and often the beads are on sale. i always find everything I need here as they have fabric, decor, yarn, jewelry, art supplies and furniture, storage for your supplies, everything! i definitely recommend this place. read more

God I already hate supporting this store but I swear every time I'm in a hobby lobby i leave more angry. I tolerate it because they have better prices than other crafts stores on occasion. I went in for ONE thing and that was a T-shirt. When I got there, naturally there were boxes stacked probably 6ft high all in front of the shirt racks and multiple people were putting out stock. Fine, I've worked retail, I know how it goes. I was trying to reach to the top rack where I saw the color I needed peeking out but I couldn't get around the boxes. The person working did not offer to help me, just kept working so I was like okay I guess I'll just yank it off the hanger to get what I need. No help. I struggled for 5 minutes. Had to settle for a different size than I needed just to get out of there. I was fuming. There were multiple workers including a tall man who could have easily just grabbed it for me in two seconds. Ah-mazing! This is my go to Hobby Lobby, when I have the choice. Parking is always prime, and it's located next to a ton of other shops right there in Belmar. The staff is super helpful, and they will offer rain checks when they are out of stock on items. Gotta get those sales amiright?! The selection is great as well. I go here for a lot of my diy projects. Lately, that has been crocheting and making earrings, and this Hobby Lobby had exactly what I needed when I stopped by two weeks ago. I came here to buy a big crochet needle for a chunky scarf, and they had 2-3 to choose from, all in different price ranges. Their yarn is of good quality, although I wasn't able to look around too much since I was on a time constraint. I try to frequent Hobby Lobby as much as I can for my projects, because I love supporting a great company whose values align with my own. Whatt a joke this place has become . I worked here like 10 years ago and it was really nice every time I go in there they have the air conditioning blowing so you freeze to death. Than they have 50% off prices and you go to buy it and they're like oh well this one doesn't qualify for that Even though it's in the spot where it says 50% off!!! I just went into hobby lobby to buy acrylic supplies as well as medium clear coat and frames. As soon as I walked in I heard the manager ask for security. While browsing I was followed around this overpriced dinky shop. As I walked to the cashier to pay I was met with incredibly rude stairs from the yellow vested security and the short Hispanic woman who I assume is the manager. They watched me the entire checkout process. I spent 200 dollars. As soon as I swiped my card the manger left and the security left the building. This time shopping me and the fam bam were in search of some little crafts for the baby girl and found exactly what we were looking for in a snap!!! The store is so well kept that I have no complaints on how they run this establishment! Walking up to the checkout line was quick and easy as they opened up another lane once there were more than 5 people in line, LOVED IT!!! Does this place have everything or what?? The closest Michael's Arts and Crafts is about 9 miles from my house. I was a little hesitant when deciding to go here for my crafting needs... but boy was I impressed. Huge location, lot's of aisles with every craft imaginable. A big section of fake plants and flowers. Plenty of checkout stands. A huge coupon page filled with great deals to purchase right now. The parking lot was a little bit of a pain to get in and out, but that's my only complaint. I can't wait to go back! read more

It's a HUGE location. They have TONS of stuff. Not a very in-depth selection of anything, but a little bit of everything. And there's tsotchkes galore, from mirrors to bird cages to wall art to platters to glassware to iron works for your garden. I'd give it four stars if they EVER had more than one cashier working, preventing the line that stretches waaaaaay out into the aisle, and half the time encourages me to drop my merchandise and leave without it. read more

This Hobby Lobby is great. They always have staff who know what they're talking about! I went here trying to find silicone molding and casting resin and got what I needed (Although I had to take back one of the products because it was white not clear). They have a huge selection, much larger than Michaels across the street, and the prices are always really great. They always have coupons which always helps!! I can never go into this place without finding just what I need and they're super friendly. The ONLY thing I hate about HL is that they're closed on Sunday :( Because Sunday is typically my crafting/day to myself day, I really would like to have hours available to shop. Very rude staff members and unwilling to help! Almost when you walk in you expect a greeting, but you'll be left with a stare almost like a judgement. I had some questions to find some wire and they sent me to the wrong isle 3 times and finally I asked someone if they can just take me to the isle and she huffed and puffed. The store is super on user-friendly it has furniture all up on the wall so you can't really get a good look at it you can't sit on any chairs you can't look at the whole piece of furniture in order to do that they have to put each and every piece down and that's ridiculous the manager does not know what she's doing she is rude and I will never go back into that store read more

What I don't love is that I rarely can find help, and when I do find someone they are rarely nice. Last Thursday I went to Hobby Lobby and found that a yarn I had been wanting was on sale, as there was a sale flier hanging right in front of them. Excitedly I grabbed 5 skeins and walked up to the registers. The woman behind the counter didn't ring them up on sale and I told her they were supposed to be. She again told me they weren't on sale. I argued again telling her about the fliers. Once more, Ashe said they weren't on sale. I let it go, but as soon as I got home I looked it up and, sure enough, they were on sale. We bought a Christmas tree here last year. The tree since then has malfunctioned two times. I couldn't get help at the store level because their manager Janice was too busy or too lazy to help me. I had to call a customer service number to get parts of my tree replaced. It took them over 2 weeks to get me replacement parts. About a week later, another part of the tree malfunctioned. I went back to Janice (store manager) and she brushed me off and said they couldn't do anything. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. This is why Target and Michael's is slowly putting them out of business. I highly recommend not shopping at this store. It is worse than Wal-Mart when it came to customer service. At least Wal-Mart would have replaced the pieces at the store level. Shame on you Janice and your undisciplined customer service attitude. read more

The store is a great place to shop for supplies for DIY projects. MOST of the people who work there are knowledgeable and great; except for the framing department. I needed some non-reflective glass cut for 3 frames. The framing specialist DID NOT KNOW that reflective coating is only on one side of the glass and put the glass in backwards on 2 of the frames. The glass still acted as a mirror reflecting ceiling lights on it. A simple mistake, but I paid a good amount of money for the special glass, and I shouldn't have to be expected to correct the errors of "specialists". I definitely won't get any of my images framed at this store. read more

This rating is for Hobby Lobby stores in general although, all that I'm saying certainly reflects my experience at this location: 1. Staffing Issues: - They're significantly under staffed so, there's never anyone available to help you search for items. - When you do find someone to help, they're running around and short with customers because they're so busy doing whatever tasks they have to do that the interruption of a customer inquiry is a nuisance. - There will be a line of 10 people waiting to checkout with one checker doing the work. 2. Customer Service - As mentioned above, the staff is not approachable, curt and just not friendly. I've been to Hobby Lobby several times, more than usual lately for a project I've been working on. I had forgotten how I felt leaving previously based on the customer service When people are getting crafty, they're usually excited. I was at the store on May 4th getting some items to create a highly sentimental mother's day gift and the customer service I received from one individual was less than desirable. Around six pm I was wandering around the store looking for a specific item that I was unsuccessfully finding. I was by all the fabrics and kindly asked the older woman behind the counter if she could tell me where blank tiles were - and that they were for making cup coasters. She looked at me with a particularly rude face and said, "Yes - Home Depot," and then failed to say anything else. I realize that this store may not carry the item I was looking for - however this is a craft store and I did state why I needed this item. A more customer oriented and kind response could have gone something like this, "I'm sorry but our store doesn't carry this item currently. We do have many alternatives such as wooden pieces that may accomodate the project you are trying to put together " Last time I checked customer service is a job that requires patience and kindness. Not delivering it when you are in that role can ruin a customer's experience and cause them to bring their business elsewhere and encourage others to do the same - which is what I will now do! read more

Throughout the planning process of my sisters wedding, we took numerous trips to Hobby Lobby. One of the managers, Cindy, was extremely helpful. She would help us plan out our purchases based on when certain items would go on sale and she was extremely patient with all coupons, returns, exchanges, etc. The rest of the staff was helpful and they had just about everything we needed to complete our DIY plans. read more

The Spanish speaking lady actually moved us out of a line we were second in line and said she would help us on register 1 only to move us into an even longer line and we lost our place in line so we dropped everything and walked out. What is it about this store in Belmar? I've gone to other Hobby Lobbies in the metro area & never experienced such poor customer service and a negative atmosphere. It's not a 'once-in-a-while' thing but getting pretty consistent. There's a lot of stocking of merchandise during shopping hours, and if you have to squeeze in to grab something, they act like its the biggest pain in the butt. And good luck trying to find someone to open up the paint cabinet, and if you do get lucky, they cop an attitude. The final straw was having to listen to 2 employees bitching and complaining amongst each other in the aisle. Felt like I was intruding in on a private conversation when all I'm trying to do is shop. I couldn't stand to listen to it anymore and had to leave the aisle. Not professional and made for an uncomfortable and awkward experience. I've always loved Hobby Lobby because of their prices, sales and wide variety of crafts. But I will not be coming back to THIS particular store and will go to another one a little out of my way where there is more professionalism and courtesy. read more
