Worst framing experience ever. Was told when I ordered frame that I could come in and wait while they mounted picture, would take about an hour. Frame came in and I came in Tuesday at 6pm and was told they don't do framing after 5pm. Was told I could come in Saturday and have it done, well I was just told it would take a day or two that they don't do mounting /framing while you wait. Someone needs to get there story straight. The last few times I've came, the cashiers are completely clueless about their sales and prices. Items done scan they enter the prices manually by department and if you do show them that every item is on sale they just ring it up at full price. They have charged me full price for every item because I didn't notice and then I done have time to get it corrected. Super annoying. Last time when I went to get fabrics to redo my cushions I felt like I was the third customer inside. All the workers were around me trying to help out! Which I thought it was great because usually lot of department store workers are busy and you cannot ever find someone to ask questions Another reason why I think this place wont last long time is because of the discounted products... majority of their items are 30% to 60% off without a reason... I mean I like bargain deals but when you see 50% off you'll connect a dot and assume that places is closing down. One of the cool thing for this store is that they are not open on Sundays! I've heard about Hobby Lobby for years, but always assumed they were located not in CA. I was surprised to stumble across this one that sits right off the 10 fwy in Upland on my way home from work. I stopped in on a July afternoon, and was greeted (and overwhelmed) with Christmas decorations. Whoa, slow down there Hobby Lobby. My life has been enough of a whirlwind lately. I had stopped by to spend 10 minutes looking around to see what it was like, but I ended up spending 2 hours and wishing I had more money and hobbies. The store is huge. They seem to have everything for every crafting/hobby/decor need you could have. They've got the fake flowers, fabrics, ribbons, decorative bird cages, a framing department, jewelry making supplies, model car kits, model rocket kits, home decor, etc. Since then I have been 3 times. Their prices seem fairly reasonable. It seems as if their frames are always 50% off. I got an 11 x 14 shadowbox frame for $19. And for what's not on sale, their mobile app has always had a 40% off regular priced item coupon. I was able to buy a model car kit (originally $25, got it for $15) along with the paint, glue, and some brushes for a total of $30. read more

Everyday they offer thirty percent off their fabric, with the exception of stock material like felt. I found this awesome leopard material that was thick and felt like fur. Nothing at JoAnns even compared, it was exactly what i was looking for. At the checkout they have vintage candy, Hershey bars I have never seen. There is a different sale every week, like one weekend it will be metals, and the next it will be frames, so just keep checking back if you can't afford something. Either it's 'closed for cleaning' (I doubt anything more than air freshener is their method), or absolutely filthy, with toilets that don't flush and trash on the floor. Maybe the blame truly lays on customers, but it stinks and the equipment is falling off the walls. Staff should keep that under control. Walmart has cleaner bathrooms. So much for 'covid' safety. Second, the fabric department is okay. 4 stars for them. But today when I went in, I asked if they carry 3D pens and the filiment for them. A simple question! I was flat out told by a senior employee to go shop on Amazon, and dismissed in a very rude way. Litterally laughed at me as I walked away. Just for asking about a craft/art product? This large superstore is well-stocked with decor items that allow me to decorate for every holiday and be able to chuckle through and replace old and worn decor items. The first time I walked in the store, I thought the upcoming seasonal was very expensive, but when I went back a couple weeks later, it was all 40% off. I learned early that it's always about the sales! As far as crafts go, they have a good general selection, but because the store emphasizes home goods and decor (which I !) the craft selection is really good but, when I'm working on craft projects) I sometimes wish it were more extensive and specialized. The staff is top-notch. You won't find a more polite or helpful bunch anywhere. They're very kind and sweet and generally knowledgeable about whatever my craft process is. I bought $100 worth of clearance and sale items. One cashier open with like 8 people in line. The manager?, Ezra, must have placed like 5 calls for someone to come and open up a register. Seemed like he should have just done it himself, since all he was doing was straightening up gift cards,etc. So now it is my turn to be rung up and good ole Ezra says, "ma'am, I'll take you over here." YOU SHOULD HAVE DONT THAT 5 MINUTES AGO instead of trying to find another employee to do it!!! Hobby lobby has a really weird way of ringing up items. NO SCANNING bar codes, but rather they do it all manually. Wtf? What century are they in? So ezra is busy ringing up my items and I'm trying my best to follow along, but i become confused and lose track. When I go home I check to see if I was charged correctly and sure enough I was overcharged by one item. I called and spoke to ezra. He said to bring in all items and receipt and they would fix it. I go in and again, only one cashier open. Nice young lady. She starts going thru my purchases (34 of them.) Line starts backing up. Monica, the manager, is doing just what ezra was doing, was wandering around straightening merchandise as the line behind me grows to like 8 people. She, too, calls for another cashier to come up. Customers are getting pissed. My cashier is doing her best to figure out if i was overcharged. When she finally agrees that i was overcharged, she says she must get her manager. She calls to monica, who is busy doing nothing, and monica slowly makes her way over to us. Nice cashier is explaining to lazy monica about my situation. Monica must be in a shit mood as she has a huge attitude with the cashier. Spoke to her like she was an idiot. I should told Monica off, but i remembered i was in a nice, "Christian" store...hahahhahaha! So i get my $5 back and monica, the lazy manager with attitude, never even apologized for what a f*cking hassle this was for me! I am a frequent flyer to Hobby Lobby as I try to support the businesses in my own City. However today I was disappointed that the register clerk would not honor my 40% off coupon to my own order as well as the order for my girl scout troop which I was paying for with a separate card labeled Girl Scouts. They are working on their silver award and every dollar counts. I just feel for all the business we do give them , 40% off a $6 item would not have hurt them. Generally I have my daughter with me so she could make the second order but this particular cashier would not budge. Just very sad since Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite stores. This place is basically a Wal-Mart for decorative items. The lights hurt your eyes, the shelves are messy, nothing is clearly labeled, the guests are weird. I wanted to show my wife this oddly designed dresser (that we were in no way going to buy because the stuff at this place is unnecessarily expensive) and when I turned around it was gone. This older gentlemen wearing a Harley t-shirt and American flag hat came over and said, "Some black guy just bought it." The way he said it was disturbing. What did race have to do with this? I guess when you go into a store that is owned by conservatives who openly discriminate, that's the kind of clientele they attract. Beyond that, we reluctantly bought a few items, and they are soooo cheap. Not cheap in price, cheap in quality. It's cheap, flimsy, easy breakable junk. We had to scroll through 7 or 8 items every time just to find one that didn't have scuffs, scratches, dings, dents or missing parts. And personally, I can't stand the way their 50% "sales" are structured. Every other week new categories are on sale. It's like Kohl's: you think "oh this lamp is only $25, off from $50!" But you would never pay $50 for that item to begin with. Even $25 for that item is too expensive for how crappy the quality is. It should be like $10. For the price you'll pay at this place, go to any other store and get better quality. read more

I am not a Christian so I don't go to Hobby Lobby because of my religious affiliations. However, I am a serious crafter and I think this is one of the best stocked craft stores in southern California. My husband is an upholsterer and they have a very good array of upholstery fabrics and trims which he sometimes buys for his customers. The prices are very good. I know, we are in the business. You have to take the time to learn about using the coupons. The reviewer who was upset about the coupons, well, "store policy" is just that. You have to take the time to know store policy. Just ask one of the many very helpful people who work there! All that yap about China -- well I think that most retailers in this country are guilty of that, not just Christian-owned companies. Believe me, I too am tired of the ultra Christian overtones in this country, but let's not be so petty. Hobby Lobby is one of the great success stories in American business. Anyway, I just think it's a great store and they have even more items available on their online store. Five stars all the way!!! read more

I can definitely see why the local community loves this place. It's cheap. It has cheap things and its BIG. It's frigging GINORMOUS. The first time I went there, I deliberately went to 'check it out.' By that I mean, walk up and down every aisle. About two-thirds of the way through, I regretted putting myself on that mission. (Okay, aside from the fact that I was in my heels from work) It has everything and I mean, everything. Imagine Michael's + JoAnns + Aaron Brothers + Home Goods all rolled into one. I love this place!!! It is huge and I love the display tables. They give you so many ideas and I really enjoy that everything is clearly labeled and uncluttered. My mom likes to sew and I enjoy taking her to Hobby Lobby as they have fabrics and other sewing items. Their prices are comparable and sometimes lower than other places. I like the fact that they close on Sunday to allow for family time. I do have to say that yesterday there were a few employees that were less than friendly, who passed right by me and didn't say Hi or is there something I can help you with (which is rather unusual) and they only had one register open with about 6 people in line. It took a bit for another register to open up but once they did, the line moved quickly. read more

The next Day: We drive down to Hobby Lobby and see a beautiful Grand Opening sign! We walked around the store and it's huge. It's a good idea to pick up their weekly sales ad on your way in and see if that will influence your shopping. Also, make sure to pull up the 40% coupon on your phone and show it to the cashier. Negatives: ~ I was very disappointed by the yarn selection. :( ~ The store smelled terribly of paint fumes. I received store credit for a return, I misunderstood when Maria the manager said it would take 24hrs, I thought she meant up to 24 and it would most likely work right away. I shoo around and I always take forever. I get to the register and I have the clerk check, she calls Maria, and instantly shes rude and says i told you it would take 24 hours. I was embarrassed and said no big deal ill go get my card (Didnt have it thought id be using store credit) get to my car don't have. No big deal ill go get it and come back. Look in my mirror and shes taking pictures of my license plate. So upset I called the store and who do I get?
