We purchased a few things to put a Hello Kitty theme gift together m. we went to remove the clearance sticker only to find out it was the original price. This place has a lot of items for home decor. We came in looking for some frames and the picture frames were on sale for 50% off on the day we came in so we picked up three frames, normally at $19.99 for just at $10.00 each. I didn't have the time to go through the whole store but they seem to have enough for every interest. read more

I always enjoy a walkthrough at HL. I enjoy soap making and always stop in to see if I can catch some good sales. Lately I've been making embeds and was able to find some great silicone molds in the candy/cake decorating section that were on clearance but perfect for my purposes. Their soap making section is pretty limited and the regular prices are higher than what I can order online through other retailers. However, I enjoy stopping in to find clearance items. read more

I used to love shopping here but that changed when I was shopping with my friends for Valentine's Day and this one worker was sweeping the floors and he kept getting in our way and paused expecting us to move which we did because he would not say excuse me. I understand he is doing his job but it's common courtesy to say excuse me when you are trying to go a certain way. As for the checkout line a worker of the name Jesse was ringing us up and my friend had to remove an item because she got the wrong one and she told him if she can go back real quick to get the right one and he said "I'm not gonna hold up the line for you" the item she need wasn't even far it was literally like a 5 step walk either way we listened to him cause we didn't want to cause issues. In the end my experience was very different from the previous times I came . These workers need to practice their customer service skills. read more

This Hobby Lobby is huge! Hobby Lobby isn't my first choice for home crafts etc since I'm not on the same page with a lot of their beliefs, but man do they put together a good craft store. I usually come here if the competitor down the street doesn't quite have what I am looking for, or if I need something more in the home decor realm. Their home decor selection is really pretty impressive! They have about every different style you can think of from modern to more traditional, you could find something for a teenager or your grandmother. I am putting together a gallery wall and they really had the finishing touches i needed. Their frames are 50% everyday, which to me is ridiculous, just put the actual price on there, not make it look like a sale. Its not really a sale if it is that price everyday. But I would follow their actual sales if you are looking for something particular. On this particular trip all of the home accents I needed were 50% off which makes the price quite reasonable. They aren't open on Sunday's which is a downside in my opinion since I don't usually have time to go shopping during the week. But from my years working retail I can see how that is nice for employees. Overall the store is huge, the employees are friendly, and they have pretty much everything you need as far as craft stores go. read more

On 12/21/22 I visited the Hobby lobby location in Winston Salem. I went in to purchase long sleeve black shirts. After I located the shirts, I was able to locate on the shelf I aske a young man if he could assist me or if he was able to get someone that was able to help me. He got me some assistance he sent the lady that was working in that department. She came over and looked through the shirts that were hanging up. I informed her at that time that I had already gotten the shirt from the rack that I needed from the selection. I asked her if she was able to look in the boxes that were sitting because the store had received shipment earlier during the day. At this time, she informed me that she had not processed them which she was meaning she hadn't placed them on hangers and being to put them in their specific location. At this time, she asked me aren't you the lady that call corporate on me, I looked at her and informed her I wasn't from the area so I'm not sure what she was talking about. After i acknowledged she statement about 30s to a minute went by and she looked at me again and said, "You are the lady that called corporate on me about the t-shirts. I then told her again ma'am i am not sure who you think i am but I'm not from here and I asked for her to get her manager. Because at this point i felt discriminated against. Because if I had been the lady that called in in her she wasn't offering to assist me in any manner. The manager did come out and ask what i was looking for at that time i spoke to he because he didn't speak, and I then informed him of the sizes and color of shirt that i needed. The lady that worked un the department came up to him and begin to talk about the situation again. And wanted to apologize but still said I thought you were someone else. This is the worst customer service that i have ever received. If I wasn't in need of the shirt for an order that i was fulfilling, then i would not have purchased them items. With everything that hobby lobby stands on as well as how you all operate daily. I am EXTEREMLY DISSATISIFED with this entire interaction. If hobby lobby wasn't my largest craft store in my area and carried the items i need to run my business daily. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Hobby Lobby and I am overjoyed that Winston-Salem has their very own! I think this location opened it's doors in March 2015. (Bonus, this place is about 1 minute from my work!!!) I could literally spend hours in this store, just wandering around! Nearly everything seems to be on sale... But if there is a rare item that you want that's not on sale, you can use a coupon! Some departments I especially love to browse are the home furnishings (not the highest quality furniture, mind you, but they are fairly inexpensive), the pictures/paintings, the fabric department, the baskets/storage... Well, I could go on and on! Just be aware that this place is not open on Sundays, as it is a Christian-based company. If you absolutely NEED a crafting item on a Sunday, you'll have to go to one of their competitors: Michaels, JoAnn's or AC Moore. With that being said, I do find that Hobby Lobby has a better selection of EVERYTHING above it's competitors. I also find that they have "trendier" items... For instance, Chevron print is big right now and you can find nearly anything your heart desires in that print. Or like, the mustache-theme is huge and you can find anything and everything mustache related here from rubber stammers to pillows to picture frames to fake stick-on party mustaches... You name it! I would give this store a 5 star based on the size and selection of items but I'm giving it a 1 star based on the cashiers attitude. Second time with this particular cashier that was cleaning her fingernails when I approached the checkout. She didn't greet or say hello. Just started ringing up my order without saying a word to me. Then proceeded to take a phone call and stoped ringing up my order to do so. When it came time to pay she still did not say a word to me. Didn't say thank you or have a good day either. I left without a receipt because she was completely rude. I was going to complain because it was my second encounter with this particular cashier but their was a group of 3 other cashiers/workers near the exit but they were busy looking at one of the workers shoes (that she was holding in her hand) gross! I love this store! It's Ike Michaels and Pier One made a combo! You have tons upon tons of DIY things, but also pre made items, Home decor, seasonal decor and even fabric! I could spend hours just browsing. I came today to get tie dye materials and shirts because they're always 30% off daily. The had literally an entire wall of tie dye awesomeness from kits, extra gloves, rubber bands, different techniques to use such as bleaching out the color to make a design! The store is a little packed to maneuver through but I didn't care since each aisle was another surprise! They also have staff everywhere and they always ask to help find items. They are closed Sunday's so make sure what day you go! I found many things to possibly use for the Costume party soon which was nice too! The prices are cheaper ad wider selection than Michaels. They have an app to download for coupons etc! read more

Went in here last night for the first time in my life and man was it dangerous. I LOVED everything they had on the shelves. I could spend hours and $1,000s of dollars (ha!) in there the prices are a little high, hence why I didn't give it 5 stars, but they had a lot of sales going on so that was awesome! I like that the store is laid out in themes, as it made maneuvering to my "decor style" quick and easy. I already have plans to return on Sunday :) read more

I really like Hobby Lobby, despite the fact that their prices are a bit higher than other crafts stores. They do have more unique and a larger selection of items to make up for it though. I love their home decor and they are constantly putting different selections of items on sale. When items go out of season they are typically 66% off and a lot of the in season home decor is 50% off. There is even a 90% off section, I've have managed to find a couple gems for practically nothing. If you are actually putting together a large project be warned if you need multiples of an item. I organized a baby shower for my best friend last year so I needed the same ribbon, twine, and flowers for the diaper cake, goody bags, raffle items, and other decor. So Hobby Lobby sort of fell short for my immediate needs as they only stock 2-3 of each item in some of their craft areas. You probably wouldn't run into this issue if you only need 1-2 of an item. They also put out their Christmas and Thanksgiving items in July. So brace yourself for that in 90 degree whether. I know that's just how retail is but in North Carolina as it is, we barely experience winter temps when it actually is Christmas. It kind of kills the experience. The employees are pretty helpful and the cashiers are always very polite. Overall Hobby Lobby is a nice place to shop. Be on the look out for sale items and use those coupons for the best price. read more

I stopped by Friday at about 7:45 to grab a quick sign for family pictures and they close at 8 when I went in there was already a staff member by the doors getting ready to start closing in a few mins I apologized for coming late she was very nice told me not to worry about it go ahead. Then I walked right back to the Isle the sign was bigger than I thought so I needed a shopping cart luckily there was a staff member putting stuff away and dusting and saw I was in need and offered me her cart and took her last thing or 2 out of it.
