I have been to other hobby lobby locations .. first time to this one . Everytime I go to hobby lobby , I see some really good stuff on sale . Today we saw some good deals on home decor and canvas paints. Picked up few home decors . This is similar to home goods but better in some products . I was looking for some products - shadow boxes etc and I was going around . Wish there were clear markers or boards showing the product names (arts and crafts etc) like they have in other shops like Costco . There were also very less persons around to help. Hobby Lobby just off the GSP in Iselin. They have a lot of aisles of materials and need a bit more organization on the shelves, a store map would be helpful. Discounts on prices on the tag make you think you're getting a good deal, but the actual prices are always that discounted, it feels. Was looking for some diamond art/gluing items. Didn't find too much of a selection, will grab online. read more

If you were raised on Sweet Tea and Jesus then Hobby Lobby is for you (okay I'm paraphrasing a tote bag I saw here [see picture] but the saying struck me so funny I had to share)! This is pretty much a southern/midwest Michael's with a shot testosterone. They have all the crafty kind of stuff your mom, grandmom, and/or wife will love. Need things for your childs report? They've got it. They also have a health dose of western cowboy themed and Jesus loving decor (nothing wrong with either it's just noticeably more then you've probably ever seen in any store in NJ so it really sticks out). The shot of testosterone comes from the jock, greaser, and geek decor. Maybe its to get men in the door (a demographic I feel is mostly ignored in these type of stores) but Lobby has a bunch of pictures, tin signs and other things featuring superheroes, sporting teams and automotive brands. They have lots of cool things to hang in your man cave. From retro looking Texaco signs, paintings of the Batman, and framed pics of Ali (to name a few). We came in looking for a corkboard and chalkboard and they delivered. They had a bunch of options and some had frames or were part of more elaborate hanging items. We ended up getting a preframed corkboard with a unframed chalkboard (that we bought a frame for [from Hobby Lobby]). I wasn't expecting much (thinking it would be just a Michael's clone) but I left impressed and actually liked the store a lot. I love the merchandise. Also, definitely friendly service. That's where they get their pros from. Now onto why it's not a perfect score ... My biggest gripe: 1. No signage on the aisles that tell you what is down the aisle or the theme so you really have to go through each one sometimes searching 2. Seriously, why don't the registers just scan and automatically do the discounts? It's sort of stone age in here because of this and it causes long lines and waits. 3. MEN's home decor is all the comic book and Star Wars stuff. Hey, yo, women like this stuff, too you know! Just drop the "Men's" and call it Home Decor, like you have every where else! read more

I am in love with this craft store. If you are in love with Pinterest as much as I am, it is an incredible place to create anything you want. It has decorations, paint, crafts, jewelry, fabric...they literally have everything. Also they constantly have sales all the time but they do rotate what things go on sale. It is probably the cleanest most organized store. Some craft stores looks like a tornado ran through it and you can't find anything but this place has everything in its place and it's not confusing to find things. They aren't open on Sundays but they have been like that forever and I don't think it hurts their business in the least bit. read more

I went inside to check out this store and see if there's anything I can use for my new apartment. The whole time during my walk-in and out was oddly awful experience. Some guy came out of a back-door and started following me around with a sweeper - the entire store he was on my back and then waited for me by the front door. As I exited out the door, he followed me again and started taking pics/videos from behind. Whatever this was about, it was not a pleasant experience - I do hope that the management at this store can train their employees to behave better than some creep, at least around the customers. read more

Marie Quintana at this location is a terrible customer service rep. she was so rude when I asked her a question. she said no and walked away. Didn't even TRY to help me. I had to speak to the manager, Patrick, in order to get the help I needed. Marie, if you're reading this, I promise you it doesn't hurt to crack a smile :) all the other cashiers there are SUPER friendly and kind, which I appreciate. Hobby Lobby is supposed to be a Christian store, why do you have someone as rude and unwilling to help as head CSR? aren't Christians supposed be kind and helpful? i get better service and treatment as a customer at Michaels! they ALWAYS have better deals and are willing to help. I only come here when some items I need are exclusive to Hobby Lobby. This store is wonderful! Anything and everything I could hope to find, is here. As an artist, there are not many stores that sell the supplies I need in this area. A few years ago, Pearl had closed and since then, there has been a serious lack of art supplies in this immediate region. I am happy to see this store here. There are also aisles of all sorts of different craft ideas and home decor. I am seriously in love with this store. On top of their inventory, their prices are NOT outrageous. However, despite my good opinion of this store's goods and services, I have heard bad things of Hobby Lobby as a company on a corporate level. Because they are a very religious company, they do not provide their female employees with access to free reproductive health coverage. I find this to be unacceptable. read more

If you're creative and into crafts, you'll love this store. This particular location recently opened up. Normally I drive an hour to the Totowa location and I'm happy one opened up locally. Out of the locations I have been to, this location is very organized with their arrangements. The parking because it's not located in a busy plaza, allows for closer parking. Great store! Wednesday, January 11 I had a few returns from Christmas. I went to the Woodbridge, NJ store and Nicole was the cashier. She took so long(about 10-15 minutes) to do the returns. I had receipts and all were cash back transactions but she still had to have someone from department come and check if the items were in stock. When she finally finished, she needed a manager's code. The manager was Maria. Maria then told Nicole that she had to work with someone today in another department. Nicole then said "oh great, I'll be doing all her work since she has one arm...". 1- don't understand the return policy or procedures or why it took so long 2- I thought it was tacky for two employees to be talking about another employee in front of customers. 3- I wanted to buy some other things after looking around but the line was 6 people deep with one cashier on. I love Fall decor and always come here to check out their latest selection. I'm a pretty good customer since I always buy $75-100+ worth of Fall merchandise yearly. I will say this store is clean and relatively organized, but the staff here are NOT nice. Any time I've come, they avoid eye contact and generally seem put out if you ask them a simple question (like what aisle something might be in etc). At first I thought the person I was dealing with was just having a bad day, but it's every....single...time. Today (it's mid July ), I see signs everywhere that there is a Spring clearance, and that the Fall items are 40% off. So I asked a staff member who was organizing in the spring decor aisle if they would be having a Fall clearance soon too since they do things a season in advance here. She seemed real annoyed I asked her anything and tartly replied "why would we do that. We just put the Fall things out". So I pointed to the signs and said "the spring stuff is 66% off, and it's July, and the Fall stuff is already 40% off, so....". She was so salty and only replied "no, we don't do that" and turned away. Excuse me, didn't realize I asked such an UNREASONABLE question. Figured she could just tell me when clearance goes on for Fall since they always need to make room for Christmas inventory early. So this rating is for the staff. They all seem aloof to plainly hostile. Maybe they're overworked, but I didn't make their work schedule, so don't take it out on customers who are actively giving you business. read more

Zero, zero, zero stars, but I had to rate with at least one in order to publish this review. Warning! As the artist said, it may get graphic! I left my cart at the register with about $60 of items in it to be re-stocked after having been refused a simple exchange of a broken $5.99 item for a fresh identical one. The sheer mindless bureaucracy of this manager's figuring it would be better to lose $60 and make a customer unhappy, rather than make an exchange... tragic. Apparently she is keeping to the company policy. Congratulations, Hobby Lobby. This happened at the Iselin, NJ, location on the afternoon of Saturday, 28 July, 2018. You know who you are. read more

I love hobby lobby. This was my first visit to the Woodbridge store. I found a picture in a frame that I really liked. Is was only $15. There was a picture with a sea horse & one with a sea turtle. I wanted both but the turtle frame was scratched & cracked. There was only one with a sea turtle & 3 with sea horse. I asked the manager if I could switch the picture so I can purchase both. He said if could not be done, I flipped it over & showed him that there were only a few clips to release picture. He said he can't do it. That manager has no customer service qualifications. It would have taken 2 minutes to swap pictures instead he refused to sell me a picture. He had no personality either, very cold personality not even a smile or sorry it can't be done. If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! After talking to 4 manager's at Hobby Lobby and 3 corporate advisors, i am MAD!!!!!! They misprinted a price on a product and refused to honor it! Then I bought the actual product at a whole other store which had bad welding on it and needed to perform an even exchange, they REFUSED! WOULD NOT! Because of our situation the day before about them not honoring the price. THIS IS A DIFFERENT SITUATION! I have my receipt and the exact same product to exchange! What is the problem?! I'm so mad! I threatened to leave a bad review for the store and the manager Crystal was like "do it!" Go ahead! How is a manager about to tell me to go ahead and leave them a bad review??? Aren't you supposed to be trying to help your store? Corporate did NOTHING to help! I love shopping here but it's ridiculous how long you stand in line standing for 30'mins ridiculous

While I love the stuff in this place it's poorly run. If you don't go early morning it's a madhouse. I never came here without waiting in line for 20 or so minutes, they need more cashiers and people to assist. I was going to purchase a tall craft cabinet which I loved but paint was chipped and or wood chopped off, pieces torn apart where you can see the nails coming off at the top and bottom of the unit. There were two of them there and both in same condition. I waited for manager not sure of his name but had dark brown hair. I asked if I could get a discount and he said oh the furniture is already discounted 30% every day. I said yeah but these clearly are not in good condition and he said again 30 % off and nothing he could do. Well how can this be fixed he tells me you can nail it. Well what about the chipped wood tells me to fill it in. WTF????? Never came across a manager like this in my life, He was about the biggest jerk I ever came across. The worker there felt the same way and said to me you think they would want to get rid of them they clearly have issues. She said to come back another time and speak to Patrick as he would have discounted it for me if he was working that day. Also told me to complain about the other nasty manager there which I still may do. Well I left and went to Hobby Lobby in Englishtown the next morning and while they didn't as a big furniture dept like Edison, the pieces I were interested in were in this store luckily. They had the same cabinet, no issues and looked great. It was near the entrance, I paid for item pulled my car up and manager put it in my car, very easy and glad I drove the extra distance. read more

Every single person who works in this place is the most helpful and knowledgable employee. I had a picture on my phone of a tiny feather I needed and the one girl knew exactly where is was in that huge place. Another girl, Maria, was SO great. She explained things to me about a cutting machine I was purchasing that the Internet couldn't even explain.
