Do not go here if you're expecting good customer service. I came here 75 minutes before closing to drop off a large picture that I had spent $250 to get framed in the Framing department because the matting had shifted within the frame. The employees watched me bring in the picture on the cart. It was so big, it could only sit on top of the cart. Several, including a manager, walked around me and didn't even acknowledge me. I went all the way back to the Framing department and no one was there. Finally I asked for help and was told no one in the store could take the picture or even knew how to use the computer in the Framing department to check in the picture. Not even the two store managers that were on shift that night. What I don't understand is why several of the employees watched me cart the picture to the back of the store and not say anything to me or even greet me when I came in. I also don't understand how and why the store managers don't know how to use the computer systems in their own store. That's ridiculous! I reported this incident to the regional manager and I was never contacted or apologized to for the horrible customer service. I went to the Sicklerville Framing department and it was a completely different experience. If I decide to get anything framed, I'll be going to the SICKLERVILLE location only. read more

I'm super disappointed with Hobby Lobby today. I purchased a sewing machine, it's not working out well for me I tried to return it and now all the sudden there's no returns there's no exchanges there's nothing for open box sewing machines....and yes, it is on the back of the receipt but I did not see it there, or at the register I did not see it on the wall and when I specifically asked the register woman what the return policy was she said "90 days with receipt that's all you need. you'll be fine". I'm disappointed, so buyer beware! read more

They don't have senior or military discounts either but the prices are so low you really don't need it. read more

Hobby Lobby's merchandise can be found all over my apartment. From globes to more globes to atlases to pictures talking about wanderlust, this store knows my "decorating" style. HL has been my favorite affordable craft and decor store since my freshman year of college in 2008. Back then, I had never heard of the chain, but since I was in the South, they were abundant and a top-pick among my classmates. Nowadays, there's a few options locally in South Jersey, which makes me SO SO happy! The Deptford store is clean and well-run. They close early-ish (8 pm) and they're always closed on Sundays, which I think is nice. They clearly care about their employees' work-life balance, which is so rare in big companies. An item was missing from my order. I was told they would refund my account $0.80 for the item. I told them I did not want a refund. I just wanted them to send the item I ordered and paid for.....the item they shorted my order!!! They told me to reorder the item and the CASE WAS CLOSED! The postage would be $9.45 to reorder the missing 80 cent item. Who would do that. I guess I need to return the other 11 items that were part of the 12 piece set I bought. This was my 3rd or 4th order in the past month! I will not be dealing with Hobby Lobby anymore. read more

This area of NJ is particularly thin when it comes to quality craft stores. Hobby Lobby (HL) is probably the new, best spot if you're looking for one stop shopping for a variety of products ... but because it's the jack of all trades, it's the master of none. HL is HUGE. It's the size of a small Walmart, and it has one (or ten!) of everything. Today I purchased poster board, a wooden handle, yarn, buttons, thread, and fabric. It's awesome to be able to walk into a store with a long, varied list and to find every item on it. Selection is the real issue here. Their yarn section isn't nearly as large as other HL locations. Their fabric selection was quality over quantity for sure, but the pickings still felt slim. There were probably 200 choices for buttons, but they were all made by the same company, so the choices were sort of "more of the same". I know HL is big on its conservative brand of morality, so perhaps they only buy from certain suppliers? Maybe that's why almost all of the available crochet hooks were made by the same company, etc? I continuously ran into the same issue -- it's not that there weren't choices, it's that all of their choices are from just one or two companies, so it's all more of the same. Will I go back? Yes. The HL brand of yarn is THE BEST for crochet blankets (seriously). I will probably continue to peruse their fabric choices, but I won't go there expecting to score every time. I'll certainly buy buttons and sewing specialty items elsewhere. If you don't like the one brand they carry, you're SOL. Joann Fabrics is still best for fabric and sewing stuff. Major bonus points: customer service was fabulous. The store is clean and the lighting was so good that I could discern between navy blue and black (sounds silly until you're 30min into staring at yarn haha). The aisles are wide and comfortable. And, really, they carry one or ten of everything. read more

I asked her a question and she was so quick to cut me off while talking! Went here first the fist time. The store it's self is huge. The selection for some items is good others seem picking. I was happy with the store. But the staff seemed miserable I don't know if something happened early in the day but no one seemed happy. The lady that cut my fabric seemed inconvenienced by me. I mean it's your job to cut my fabric, if I wasn't here you wouldn't have a job. I even apologized to her for bothering her to do her job. She said nothing back. Would I go back to this store. I travel from Philadelphia, just to take advantage of their huge inventory, their quality merchandise, their helpful staff and the great atmosphere. While the store itself is nice the cashier's are rude. Was shuffled to three different lines before I was able to check out. Then an item was put behind the counter and not handed to me. Luckily another customer informed me that it was left behind as the cashier and manager couldnt have cared less. Really disappointed as I love hobby lobby generally. Love this store. The selection of most items especially holiday decorations is the best anywhere. Prices are good as most items are on sale. There is always a 40 percent off coupon on regular price items. I dont know how ac Moore and Michaels even stay in business. The only thing that hobby lobby needs is a wreath and flower designer in every store. I dont agree with their religious beliefs or their control of reproductive rights of their employees. I said I wouldn't shop there. But the stores are 100 percent better than the Competition. Hurry in. You will love the displays done mainly by the gay employees that the company I'm sure dislikes. But they have the most beautiful displays. So nice that even. If you dont want to buy the items you cant help but be enticed. Oh and they have the most beautiful frames.
