When I arrived to the store I wanted to talk to the Manager to see if we could get a "Racers Discount" because we were buying so much. She couldn't be bothered to end her personal phone call and refused to even talk to me. I told the young man he was good and he checked me out, but his manager, the heavy girl with glasses, was terrible and so disrespectful. Shop ANYWHERE ELSE. DOESN'T STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS. INVENTORY MISMANAGEMENT Multiple times I ordered items online to pick up in store. Online it stated the items were in stock, and they weren't. I always try to support local, but this shop made me realize why online is winning. Latest one was that I had an item that was broken once purchased. I spoke with a sweet lady and she stated they would give me a refund, since I had purchased it on Friday and it was now Monday. She stated she needed a guy at the shop to look it over, and he was off that day. I left the item there for testing the next day. Then I called to check in on it. They stated that it was not working (duh). I left work early to grab my car and the refund. The guys stated he couldn't refund it (even though it was within the window) because then they would be out the money. Told me I had to deal with the manufacturer. I dont know about you, but I expect items to be in working condition when I purchase them. And when I decide to spend a little more to use a local shop, I expect them to stand by their products read more

Great to have a good local hobby shop to go to. The staff is very helpfully the selection is good and so are the prices. Everyone I have asked questions has been very knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes the shop gets a little busy so you have to wait your turn but that's ok by me. read more

My dad and I came in looking to upgrade some parts for his old model rc car and also some accessories for his newer rig. Justin was awesome! Answered all of our questions.. suggested upgrades that were perfect and even took the time to explain how to us on how to install all of the upgrades. We needed other item that the store didn't have in stock so we were able to special order a few items. They have a wide verity of rc kits. From classic kits like the Tamiya Lunch Box to The Element Knight Runner (team associated side brand). Had a great experience and will be coming back and will be recommending this rc shop to others. These guys have great knowledge of the hobby and value what the customer needs. Prices are reasonable and if they don't carry a certain brand they can maybe special order it. read more

The worst customer service I have possibly ever experienced. The store is understaffed, the manager sat at the end of the counter uninterested in holiday shoppers and doesn't even bother to ask if you need help. I'm elderly and wanted assistance for myself and grandkids. Did the manager even bother to say hello, nope, not even maybe. The shelves (selection) are bare as if the store hasn't been restocked in months. The prices are somewhat marginally reasonable, but you'd probably be better off utilizing a cyber platform, at least you won't have to feel comprehensively ignored. I begin entering Hobby Town with my daughter walking around, looking at all the cool stuff, and I see something that caught my eye and asked the person behind the counter to pull it from the case so I could take a look at it, and the employee told me that due to other people who try to steal it they weren't able to let me look at it even though I was very interested in purchasing it. So basically, they were stereotyping me because of other people and all I did was piss me off make me not want to come in there ever again and they lost out on $1000 cell Unfortunately this a pattern for Hobby shop in General . Ba humbug HobbyTown unfortunately I open my package. Therefore HobbyTown refused to return it for store credit? The problem is I spent some time in their store shopping and had picked out a $250 slot car track I loved. Upon trying to return the $11 train track, I assured the cashier I would like to use my store credit in store. She said I'm sorry sir and I asked her if I was stuck with the train track that did not fit my trade and she said yes. After speaking, with some other customers, I met inside the store I decided to return an ask for the manager. Upon asking another associate in the back of the store who happen to be the one, showing me the slot car track he pointed to the store clerk and said she is not only the manager she is the owner. I told a nice young man thank you and merry Christmas. I left the store. $11 RTV turned into a Los customer merry Christmas hobby town. read more

Best experience buying an RC product I've ever had. I went in for a new plane, transmitter, battery and charger. Justin was the most helpful person. He helped set up the simulator so I could see what I wanted, and talked me through every possible question I had. Such a great guy. I don't suggest coming here to purchase anything. The reason why is because I bought a drift rc car that I could've bought it online for much cheaper and they charged me nearly 300$ when I found it way cheaper online. I recently went in to Purchase some wheels and tires and they overcharged really bad. They wanted to charge me 20$ extra after I bought the tires. That's pretty much 50-60$ when I just wanted to get a set for only 25-30$. It just doesn't seem worth spending when could find a better ship near by. read more

Justin (the manager on duty yesterday) helped my son and I yesterday with our RC car. He was kind, helpful, and professional. The shop is neat and in the past they've given us the necessary information to do most of our repairs and upgrades on our own. I know we can get parts cheaper online, but to be able to go in and get knowledgeable eyes on the actual parts is a huge advantage of a brick and mortar shop. We will ne returning. read more

This is a very nice hobby shop and a real asset to hobbyists in Temecula, Murrieta and surrounding communities. The shop is well stocked, organized and clean. They carry hobby items that cater to a broad range of interests. The staff are friendly and helpful and have repaired items that I had been unable to fix myself. Justin, the store manager, is excellent, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Their prices seem very competitive with online. I always try to buy from the local store first before online because having a local hobby shop that can provide hands on assistance is extremely valuable to me. We called and were misinformed on what battery to purchase for our RC car. We did a curb side pick up for my 11 year olds birthday. When my son opened it and we realized it was not the same we called and explained the situation. We were told there is no returns on electronic items. So we were misinformed by their employees and now are out $100.00 on an item we can not use. Also was not informed of the no return policy. They will not receive our business again. We had a very crazy experience. We brought our 5th Scale RC Truck in for service (FYI: Bring your own gas). During the time it was in the shop, someone broke in, smashed a window and stole only our truck!! Crazy right? And pretty unbelievable. Trust me we all thought it was crazy until we saw the video. Anyway, the owner took care of us. He located a suitable replacement car free of charge and provided a new controller. The only reason Im giving it 4 Stars is because the solution (Although it was awesome in the end) did take some work to get to. Long story short, I came in to Spend $500 plus. Walked out spending 0$. I've never been to a business that doesn't like taking money. Dont get me wrong. I wasn't looking to get ripped off. I just simply had came in to buy a product that I had been heartset and done the research on. I knew what I wanted. I knew what I was doing... The Person/s behind the counter told me was my advice to you... "Don't get into this aspect of the hobby" "unless you're a guy who likes to sit in the garage and tinker on cars before you run them that's not the product for you. Dont buy it"............... I was confused..... (He had the sale in the bag.) Turns out, I am that guy. I am an amateur in the rc hobby. One of My fav things about the hobby is the tinkering, fixing, and troubleshooting aspect. Then when asked what type of cars I have... They proceeded to try to sell me a 900$ equivalent to the car I already own. Becuase "it's so much better..." Had a bad encounter with one of the store employees. This individual was far from being courteous and helpful. He might have been having a bad day but why take it out on a customer? I felt an air of arrogance by the employee and an attitude of 'I'd rather be anywhere else than here'. I was quite surprised at his attitude particularly when I can purchase most of the parts I need at Amazon.com or other websites. I certainly don't want to divulge the employee's name which might result in unnecessary discipline, but I doubt if I will ever be back.. My husband decided that this would be the year we got a model train for the holiday to go along with our Halloween and Christmas villages. We were wary of going to Hobby Town in Temecula because of the poor reviews, but decided to go in, see what they have and if they were horrible we would just leave. I'm sooooo glad we went in Stephanie was absolutely amazing. She was knowledgeable, answered all of questions, and was plain wonderful. Her customer service was outstanding. There was another gentleman who was working there, and I unfortunately don't remember his name but he was very polite and greeted us when we walked and was friendly with the other customers who walked it. It was a great experience and we left with a cool train set ( Lionel Peanuts Halloween Train set). We will definitely be back. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. The customer service was absolutely horrible. The man who "helped" was rude, cruel and extremely disrespectful. He talked down to my family and acted as though he was Gods gift. We were willing to pay extra to have them repair it and he said that he couldn't because they weren't doing repairs at this time (which is understandable with it being the holiday season)...HOWEVER he stopped to fix another customers RC car that had the same problem. With the time the guy spent talking to us he could've fixed it. Also, everything is ridiculously overpriced there. Do yourself a favor and go to any other hobby store or Amazon. Overall we had a horrible experience and even though it doesn't mean much to them, we will NEVER come back to a hobbytown. read more
