It is about an hour drive or 1.5 hours by train and walking to Foxborough from Boston. They covered all the Gillette signage since they're not sponsors of the World Cup. Ride shares going to the World Cup has a specific drop off area and it was $45-600 one way. The fact that it's connected to Patriot Place where there's a lot of shops and restaurants really was convenient since we were in Group A boarding for the train that leaves at 9am to get to the stadium by 11:30am and the gates don't open until 1pm. We had lunch at Patriot Place before heading to the game. They turned most of the parking lot into fan zones where World Cup spectators can collect their free souvenirs from sponsors like Bank of America, Coke, Home Depot, and Michelob; and FIFA stores. It was a great time for fans. We used all 3 hours from the time the gates opened to kickoff to enjoy the fan zone and get to our seats The stadium isn't covered and watching the France vs Morocco quarter final match in 89 degrees with humidity got 63,811 fans sweaty and sticky. They were giving free bottles of water at the parking lot on the way back to the Foxborough train station. But I wish they were also giving away free deodorant. We had category 1 tickets and were in the 100 section close to the action. Behind us was the media section where Zlatan, Thierry, Rebecca Lowe, and Lalas were doing their World Cup coverage. Each section has concessions so you can never go hungry/ thirsty - of course, it's quite pricey for what you're getting. The best part was the staff. They were surprisingly friendly. I'm not sure if they were told to be extra nice because the world is watching or what. They were hyping us up.

Friday night we attended Barnum & Bailey's circus. We entered in very quickly. Security was organized and quick. Our tickets were scanned and we found out seats, easily labeled. I did think to myself, it doesn't seam as clean as past event I have attended here. Also, one of our cup holders was taped together. Overall, the facility has everything needed to put on a show.

In Providence RI, the local fans are extremely knowledgeable about their hockey and that makes them great! Equally important, they are very hospitable to out-of-towners. Though capacity boasts 20,000 people, I would say crowds are typically much more conservative in size. I have attended a healthy handful of Brown University football games at this stadium in recent years. It is truly an enjoyable way to spend a few hours on a crisp New England Fall weekend afternoon with friends. Regarding the stadium facilities, there is a large, trapezoid-shaped concrete structure with metal bleachers on the home team side of the field. The cold can really get into your bones on particularly cool days so I always try to bring a layer to sit on (bonus if it's cushioned!). Restrooms and University food vendors are located underneath/inside the structure. They also bring in lots of port-a-potty's and restroom trailers to supplement. The food is reasonable priced and includes typical stadium food. That said, they also host several, rotating food trucks parked on the away team side. There's a small beer garden as well, though in recent years, they started selling beer throughout the stadium and you can finally enjoy it in the stands versus the beer garden alone. With everything somewhat spread out, there is a bit of walking involved to hit up all the amenities. Honestly, nothing more New England/Rhode Island than taking in an Ivy League football game on a Saturday while snacking on clam cakes and chowder from Blount's Clam Shack food truck and sipping on a Narragansett Brown Bear Pale Ale. The field was recently converted from grass to turf which gives it an updated look and some safety features for the athletes. You can purchase nearby parking if you want to be close by and tailgate up to game time (no re-entry) but I hear there is also ample street parking in the area if you don't mind walking a bit. Small pro-shop available for all your team spirited needs. They host a number of events (e.g. employee appreciation days) to bring a little something different to the games. Fun engagement with the crowds such as on-field mini competitions, t-shirt cannons, cheerleading routines, mini cannon firing, bell tolling, raffle tickets, etc. Having attended a Texas Longhorns game in the last couple months (insane), Brown Stadium offers something vastly different... a cozier, hometown feel that doesn't require a lot of fuss or pre-planning.
