We had a horrible experience with this attorney. We were miscommunicated as well as misinformed on a lot of different issues. we feel that we were not represented well, as the attorney always said they were busy or had lots to do at that time, and that our case would be worked on the following week. We paid $3000 in retainer fees, and have asked for over a month for an itemized report of charges, which Rusty and the office manager have failed to provide us with numerous times. When we met to go over every issue we have had with Rusty- he chose to talk over us and kicked us out of the office after 7 minutes. We also paid Rusty to file gaurantorship for my disabled mother. He failed to properly inform her doctor of this, which therefore, she refused to do. He also failed to dismiss it, due to being busy, and we had to go to the probate court, pay the fees, and dismiss it ourselves. We also needed someone evicted out of our household and Rusty has been "looking into it" since late June. has completely failed to do ANY steps towards an eviction for us. DO NOT use this firm for ANYTHING. Rusty and team have failed us numerous times due to incompetency and poor communication. we will be reporting this firm to Georgia Bar. read more

Nope. Nope. Nope.... Stole our earnest money... Mr Hodges is extremely unorganized, not very knowledgeable, technology illiterate AND flat out unethical. Within 2 months of retaining his services, our family realized we were a bad fit for Mr Hodges' services (he rarely if ever returned phone calls or emails), and we asked that our earnest money be returned. It was at that point (when we asked for our remaining retainer money back) Mr Hodges created, fabricated and backdated all sort of BOGUS CLIENT BILLING HOURS (line items stating "receipt and review of ...") so that he could justify keeping all of the retainer (and actually sent us a BILL stating our family owed him additional money). Of course, the extra bill demanding more money was a head fake. All Mr Hodges wanted was to keep ALL OF OUR EARNEST MONEY, and by creating more phony billing, he could justify (in his mind) keeping all of our initial earnest money. And, since we have yet to hear another word from Mr Hodges about any type of outstanding invoice or money he is owed, my hypothesis has been proven. After doing a little bit of research, it sounds like we are not the only ones that has had this sort of experience with Mr Hodges. Consider yourself warned. read more

I hired Hodges in an estate matter. He didn't seem to know the answer to any of my questions, asked the lady in Probate Court and then turned to me to respond as the papers were filed. He made such a mess he didn't communicate to me the problems created. I had to fire him and hire another attorney to find out what was going on. He would not return my calls or talk to me when I did happen to catch him in the office. I reported him but was told poor representation is not handled by the Bar Association. I would not recommend him for anything. read more

This lawyer was very rude to me this morning when I called him about refund of earnest money on a house I backed out of for the seller not making the repairs. He said a refund of $1000 is not enough money, Lithonia, GA is too far from him (he's only 20 min away in Atlamta), and good luck to you. He hung up the phone right after and that was rude. I would NOT recommend Russell Hodges. I paid him to take care of a very simple traffic violation. He didn't even show up at the first court date so I had to reschedule. Then he showed up an hour late after I tracked him down. Then in follow up items I literally made more than two dozen calls to him without a response. Through his assistant he assured me he would take care of the follow up required three times but never did. He answered the phone once when I called and told me to call him on Saturday and when I called of course no answer. I wouldn't hire him to cut my lawn. I have no idea how he ever finished law school. Probably disbarred from his previous state. read more
