My mom has early onset Alzheimer's. I researched neurologists and chose Dr Patel because she…read morespecializes in memory loss. I made an appointment for her MONTHS in advance, only to find out the week before that Dr Patel would not be able to see her because my mom used to be a patient of one of her colleagues in the practice (who no longer works at Atlantic Health) 2 years and 9 months ago. Their policy is that the doctors only see patients once every 3 years. Despite the fact that my mom's memory has steadily declined over this time, she cannot see the doctor. When I persisted and advocated on her behalf, they agreed to let her see Dr Patel, but on another day. Because the time slot during which I scheduled the appointment was reserved only for NEW patients. Save your time! Don't see Dr Patel

Dr. Anjali Patel and her ANP Paren Wali have no place caring for patients in cognitive decline. I…read morehave worked in medical for 15+ years and this is the absolute worst treatment I have ever received on behalf of my loved one, who is suffering with memory loss. You will wait months just to see Dr. Patel and when you do her bedside manner and compassion will be absent and then you will be passed off to a nurse practitioner who is extremely inexperienced. There was zero follow up on any of the diagnostic testing directly from the doctor, all that is offered is a follow up appointment with the NP. NP had the audacity to say my loved one was "visibly upset" and that she would connect us with a "social worker". I was appalled. Of course my loved one is upset, their short term memory is completely depleted. She also recommended doing crossword puzzles. Suggesting CROSSWORD PUZZLES to a patient that is already in cognitive decline is disgraceful! The Atlantic Neuroscience Institute should be ashamed of this treatment of memory loss patients. My heart really breaks for any family that has waited to see the doctors at this office, they show absolutely no compassion for how awful this disease is and also seem to have absolutely no solutions. You will be passed off to an extremely inexperienced and unprofessional NP with little to no direction for follow up care. I will be the first to say I reacted very emotionally in the office based on the treatment that we were given. However, something needs to be done and changed inside a practice operating this way. Please AVOID this office at all costs and find a competent providers with compassion and consistent follow up care for your memory conditions . My love goes out to the sufferers and caregivers of this awful disease, doctors like this should not be allowed to care for you.

I've been a patient there for 10 years and have seen significant improvement in 2026. The front…read moredesk staff/nurse are extremely courteous and take their time to assist you through issues. I really appreciate Dr. Mahmud S..'s care in empowering me with care choices. I felt heard and seen by her. I am very impressed with her expertise, empathy and ability to communicate in simple terms. She's a godsent in the coordination of my care. I walked out of my appointment feeling empowered to make the right decision for my care and not simply overwhelmed with a list of medication. I use to avoid my visits there 7/8 years ago. The institute has the care part of it down and now, they need to put in some work on updating the website and allow patient to interface (appointments, quick questions to nurses and doctors) better on the website. The office experience is certainly different from pre-pandemic era or 4 years ago. The nurses are more courteous and attentive. Kudos to the staff and others for turning things around. I feel heard and seen and can now partner better with them for better health.

I literally called a dozen times to leave a message for her and her assistant to call me back for scheduling. Seriously like once per week for a few months before giving up. Though she'd leave voicemails I never spoke to either of them once. That is unacceptable. I of course told my clients doctor to refer him elsewhere. Next the attitude of the receptionists could be better, they aren't the worst but far from the best. Never got a warm welcome and it just seems like all business with questions to them each time I come. Lastly I took another one of my clients here for an appt. with Dr. Geller. The appt. Was 1:15. Dr. Geller didn't come in to the exam room until 2:30. I understand waits, I've gotten used to that with all the providers I have take clients too but that is no good. When he arrived though he was nice and patient with me and my client which I appreciate but I think this is one office that needs to really improve.

My experience with him…read moredates back to 2023 when I was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis in the L4,L5 lumbar regions and was having moderate to severe pain down through my right buttocks. After trying P/T, various pain drugs, and spinal epidermal shots, all of which provided no relief, I started to visit some neuro surgeons. The first three I visited all said spinal fusion was my only option. Having two relatives who had spinal fusion in which the recovery period was about one year and they were still experiencing some pain and now had limited mobility, I decided I wanted to avoid fusion if at all possible. Dr. Lipson was the fourth surgeon that I visited and after Xray, CT and MRI tests he determined that he could help me without the need for fusion or major surgery. In December, 2023, as an outpatient at Morristown Medical center he performed two minimally invasive surgical procedures: L4/L5 Hemilaaminotomy/Foraminotomy which opened up space in my vertebrae for the nerves that were being compressed. He also implanted a titanium Intralaminar Coflex spacer between my L4/L5 spinal regions which pushed apart the two vertebra to relieve pressure on my nerves. I went home the same day and except for some minor stiffness which persisted for about 8 weeks my pain was gone. By avoiding fusion I was able to maintain my full range of spinal motion, my recovery period was extremely short and I was able to resume my normal activities such as walking, hiking, snow removal, kayaking etc. without pain and within three weeks of my operation. I have had no reoccurrence of any pain since. I am now seeing Dr. Lipson again to get his opinion on some cervical spine issues I'm having in which the previous surgeon that I visited said fusion was my only option and that I would lose some neck mobility and the recovery period would be months. I should add that I found all his staff members, especially his surgical coordinator, to be extremely courteous and professional.
